Gale Reviews: ML Season 4 Episode 25 Risk

Obviously spoilers for a leaked episode

But I am merciful

-So the super team saves the day and King Monkey and Carapace are bros

-Chat noir asks to help (which he knows at least HALF the identities)

-But Ladybug tells him he cant

-Chat noir says he totally gets it and is a bit sad because he is just 'Another miraculous holder

-She kisses his cheek saying he is the favorite

-This moment still feels a bit bittersweet

-And Rena Furtive is still around

-Gabriel has a temper tantrum and then complains to Nathalie

-Okay so the next part is really f***ing cool

-Gabriel can basically cosmic sense all emotional states in paris, and he located someone that Wants to take risks. See.... THIS RIGHT HERE makes mega akuma seem cool. WHERE WAS THIS ALL SEASON

-the kids name is ROGGY?

-Also her little Im sorry at the end was adorable.

WELL SAID

-And Adrien realizes Felix tricked him again

-AND LADYBUG WHAT ARE YOU DOING! HONEY NO

-And the reveal that Felix and Adrien had fakes.

-And Gabriel's plan was for Adrien to be out of Paris so HE COULD PULL OFF HIS PLAN. OMG THATS BRILLIANT

-Strikeback seems kind of a lame name. But the design is kind of decent

-And Marinette is too focused on getting Adrien back!

-Also Adrien found the scouter.

Okay My hype level is maximum.

I am VERY invested

Now I think I only have 2 problems with it

The begining

and the lunch scene.

Chat noir does know half their identities at least. But I am guess the main reason is because Marinette/Ladybug has Rena Furtive which Chat noir doesnt know about. But I can over look that.

The second is that once again Lila has dumbed down everyone. I can believe Kim and Max think Adrien is happy. But I doubt Nino actually does. And Alya would know Marinette wasnt just jelly.

Now since this is a two parter I will not give this a rating until part 2 is out.

But know I do think this was a very good episode

Signs of Ladybug's crush on Chat Noir - Part 4

Your Resident Ladynoir Trash presents the final Exhibit D!

Okay, before I begin with the episodes, I am going to start off with something I noticed in the intro.

Marinette trips over a black cat.

Not just anything.

It could have been anything, but they chose A BLACK CAT.

And what happens a few seconds later, Adrien helps her out by giving her her bag.

Marinette responds like Marinette would.

Translation: Marinette would/already has fallen for Chat Noir, but is blinded by Adrien.

In a show that relies heavily on its symbolism, this is a good theory.

Up next, the only Marichat moment in Chat Blanc.

I won't say that Adrien keeping the fact that he knew Ladybug's identity was a perfect decision, but he knew that Ladybug would not want both of them knowing who the other one was until she was ready.

Adrien and Marinette dated for a few months, didn't they? So when he was with her when she was Ladybug,he had to be platonic towards Ladybug. And the most important thing. MARINETTE WASN'T UPSET HE KEPT IT A SECRET. She was so happy that the person she loved and the person she trusted with her whole life was the same guy. She wasn't like "waaaa why did you date me only because I was Ladybug" like in the salt fics. She went, "Adrien is Chat?! Hold me, Chaton-" in a matter of seconds. She melted into his arms.

Nothing would ever convince me that Marinette loves Chat Noir more than that.

Ladybug is inching away from Chat Blanc, not from fear, but from WORRY.

Even in her last moments, she's leaning towards him, trying to help him even though he has become the embodiment of destruction.

Even his burn marks are edging towards her, like he was leaning towards her too.

And Gabriel just tried to protect himself.

She doesn't directly go for the attack like she would with any normal Akuma. Her first instinct is to comfort him and let him know that she is there for him.

Ladybug: “You don’t need my miraculous, Chat Noir. You need me to de-evilise you!”

Chat Blanc: “Save me.”

Ladybug: “My poor kitty. Do you know where the akuma went? Tell me.”

And the first thing she does is grab his bell. Does she know him well or what?

Almost all her attacks against Chat Blanc are defensive and not offensive.

And the most, most important thing. She never called him Chat Blanc. Even when he was monstrous, even when he threw her into the sea, even when he threatened to destroy the universe, she still saw him as Chat Noir.

"You will always be Chat Noir to me."

And he doesn't even do anything to stop her, btw. He even gave her a clue to where his Akuma was.

She's so relieved that she got him back. Softness level: Infinity times 1000

She takes the time to hug him after all he went through and reassure him that she will fix everything.

She gave up on Adrien knowing who she was, she gave up on Adrien knowing how she FELT, she gave up on everything she wanted, all so she could save Chat Noir.

She called him so she could cuddle with him I-

In the episode, 'Ladybug' after she proves to Chat Noir that the Ladybug he almost kissed was a sentimonster, Chat has this to say about the sentimonster.

"But she's much more elaborate than what we've faced before! She's so perfect, there's nothing monstrous about her at all!"

"Sorry, kitty, but you should have known, I'm nowhere near as perfect as her."

Both Ladybug and Chat use the word 'perfect' in two different ways.

Chat uses it to describe the sentimonster as a perfect likeness of the original Ladybug, someone he got easily fooled by.

Ladybug uses it to describe the sentimonster as a perfect, flawless, better version of her.

But literally, all that is different about Sentibug and Ladybug (other than the fact that one is a sentimonster and the other is human) is that Sentibug appeared to be in love with Chat Noir.

So what is Ladybug trying to say? For her to be perfect (in the way she uses it), she would have to be in love with Chat Noir? And that is the one thing that is stopping her from being perfect like Sentibug?

"I'll always love you just the way you are, m'lady."

She takes the time to smile back at him, and to me atleast, she looks a bit relieved here, more than just flattered.

They cute or whatever.

Them falling on top of each other is occurring more frequently, and unlike Season 1, Chat doesn't stop to flirt with her anymore. Boom. Character development.

In Season 1.

In Season 3.

Boom. Character development.

When Hawkmoth throws away Chat Noir, Ladybug had Mayura in her grasp. All she had to do was grab her miraculous, and everything would have been over.

Chat Noir would have been able to handle himself. Both of them have been thrown from greater heights before, and both of them always survived.

Instead, she chose to throw away what could have been a good opportunity to defeat Hawkmoth and saved Chat instead.

Chat Noir: "You had Mayura right where you wanted her! I could have managed by myself, why did you do that?"

A few minutes earlier,

Sentibug: 'Listen to your heart.'

Ladybug: OH, listen to your brain!'

Why didn't Ladybug take her own advice?

"Because we are Ladybug and Chat Noir. Ladybug by itself doesn't sound half as cool."

When Ladybug fought Chat Blanc, he said this,

"Our love did this to the world, m'lady."

And that. That is what prompted her to say this in Loveater.

" I CAN'T be in love with you Chat Noir, you know that."

There's a pretty huge ass difference between 'not being in love' and 'can't be in love'.

Not being in love with someone is involuntary. It’s something you can’t control.

Ladybug sounds like she's telling herself voluntarily to not be in love with Chat.

That morning, she was so happy he got a girlfriend.

That very AFTERNOON,

"Is this a part of your plan to try and make me jealous?"

"Not calling me m'lady anymore?"

Chat Noir: "Are you jealous of Ryuko, right now?"

Ladybug: "What? No! Of course not!"

Sorry LB, you ain't fooling anyone. Especially since the nicknames come from a romantic place from him.

I would never deny or downplay that Luka was incredibly sweet and comforting to Marinette at the end of Loveater.

Yeah, but that's just it. He relieved Marinette of her guilt and stress, but it didn't go away. Not that it is his or her fault at all. Both of them were victims of circumstances.

When Ladybug admits tearfully to Chat Noir that it was her fault that everything was going wrong, he listens to her, and he doesn't blame her for anything.

You can see it in his face how understandably confused he is that she is doubting herself when he knows how strong and capable she is. More than anyone, in fact.

"Hey, the most important thing right now is to save Master Fu before the sentimonster destroys his shield. And we'll need a focused Ladybug for that. Forget about everything that happened, okay?"

He doesnt dismiss her mistakes, but he doesn't scold her for them either. He tells her that she is more than capable of fixing them. And at that moment, Marinette and Ladybug didn't just need comfort, she needed REASSURANCE.

And Chat Noir was the one who gave it to her.

This one scene healed me, cleared my skin and restored my faith in everything.

The camera pans out and shows that they are truly alone. They are the only heroes left. The fate of Fu and the Miracle box lies on them.

And yet, they're not alone. Because they have each other.

Chat let Ladybug break away from the hug when she felt it was right. He's one of those people who never breaks a hug first because he never knows just how much the other person needs it.

And Ladybug doesn't let go of him until she just...relaxes in his arms.

She's once again terrified of making the same mistakes again, but her face doesn't clear until she looks at him.

Gotta say, I loved how Adrien/Chat stepped and did all the planning BECAUSE he knew how overwhelmed she was feeling.

And once she again becomes overwhelmed, he's still there at her side, whether it is to fight by her or comfort her.

And she willingly leans on him for emotional support, without feeling self conscious about it like with Luka.

Think about it. Miracle Queen changed the entire premise of the show.

A,Chloe is no longer Ladybug and Chat Noir's ally.

B,Hawkmoth and Mayura have Master Fu's translated grimoire.

C,The peacock miraculous is fixed.

D,Master Fu loses his memories.

E,The identity of every hero except Ladybug, Chat Noir and Bunnyx is revealed to Hawkmoth.

F,Marinette becomes the guardian.

G,Adrien and Marinette look for other opportunities in love.

Everything has changed. That is, everything except Ladybug and Chat Noir's dynamic.

"You and me against the world?"

"As always."

They love each other so much. How could you look at them and say that they are toxic?

I LOVE that they are free enough with each other to clown around like this.

Uh huh, sure. Deny it all you want. We know better.

They didn’t let the rain stop them from spending time together continuing patrol.

She’s so concerned for him!

And was she in that close contact with him that they BOTH got sick at the same time-

I can’t get over how he looks at her. I never will get over how he looks at her.

This picture was posted a few days after Chat Blanc and since the instas roughly follow the canon timeline, it’s lovely to see Ladybug spending more time with him and assuring him that she does care.

In conclusion to this long meta that spawned over 4 long posts - Ladybug deeply loves and cares for Chat Noir more than her own life but is in denial about it romantically. Here’s to hoping she realises it soon!

Because at the end of the day, it’s them against the world. Always.

JL confronts Marinette

From bio!dad Strange au, where they made her kryptonian to keep her alive. This is post-Hawkmoth (debating using a random and revamping Gabriel altogether tbh)

“Don’t.” Marinette was tired of heroes, tired of being one. She had to handle hawkmoth’s fallout, keeping so many secret identities (hers, JL, miraculus team, her gotham family’s) and she just wanted to sleep.

Flash found her first, but Superman grabbed her and put her in the air for a ‘talk’.

“Don’t what?” She knew superman wasnt a detective. She knew he was a reporter though and she could see baiting and needling just under the surface. He’s an interrigator then, she decided.

“Don’t come in and try to fix what the miraculous team already handled. Paris was abbadonned by your league.”

She figured this was about Ladybug. Paris is always going off the the miraculous holders and ladybugs were always deemed the defacto leaders. She liked that Daesuqa (Talia) took over leading long term missions for the most part, handled meetings and politics so her and Chat and the others could be more like the teens they are in theory.

And everyone knew Marinette was Chat Noir’s favorite after she got how many akumatized people to release their akuma on their own? And that she supplied mirauclous users with kwami food (though it was common for many other civilians). It was common knowledge to all, but Hawkmoth apparently, that if Chat or his miraculous team or the entire team was needed, you went to Marinette.

Superman furrowed his brow at that though. “I didn’t know there was an active team here.”

So it wasn’t about the miraculous or years of magic terrorism her city endured?

“Been here for years. Hawkmoth’s sentencing is in a few hours.”

She hoped it was the kwami’s choice. Tikki murmured that people were surprised by what they could live through, and she is thw kwami of life. Tikki would make him wish he was dead routinely. He deserved it for regualrly slaughtering the city.

“No, that’s...” superman shook his head. “I came here to talk to you about...” he gestures to her then. She didn’t get it until she realized she was floating on her own.

When did he let her go?

“I know you’re Princess.”

Marinette’s blood stopped then. No. He can’t. They can’t.

“I don’t know what you’re talking about. I know Chloe changed my handle to Princess of Paris a few years ago but indont think heroes can stalk teens for that.”

Good, play into that. Distract until someone you trust can come. She hit an alert on her phone while he wasnt looking.

Pegasus should be here soon.

“I know you know it only as the Chimera project.”

Wrong. It was the surgery that kept her alive.

“And i know you’ve been poisoning yourself to stay hidden.”

Antidotes came from venom. It was fone to ise the stickers, they kept her human. The crystals were for emergencies only.

“What I don’t get is why.”

Why would she want him to kidnap, or abduct her? Take her from her family? Her life?

Don’t show that you’re who he thinks, anvocie whispered. Keep being the Paris Marinette from social media. The savage who snarled Weredad into submission.

“I really think you have the wrong girl. Its listed under my file as a volunteer flyer that i’m a flying meta, like most of the flyers.” Good, keep it up.

“And superman, if I had to guess why some girl that i look like would supress their powers, its becuase this is France and until the Miraculous team came clean about some being meta, you were imprisoned on suspicions of being meta, even infants were, are in the rest of France. Paris is the only place you arent imprisoned for it.”

Superman paled at that. “I. I wasn’t aware.”

“why would you be?”

Superman did respond to that.

“And if this Princess of yours is still hiding, she might be protecting her loved ones. Or maybe she thinks you’d steal her away from her life and home? Everyone knows about the fortress of solitude and i dont think anyone besides you would like living there, especially so far from people.”

Marinette watched him process. As long as Red Robin didnt see her, didnt confirm her identity, she was in the clear.

“Now if you’d excuse me, I’m needed to finish filling out a report on the final battle.”

That had superman’s attention.

“Final battle.”

“Yes, we just took down Hawkmoth a week ago.”

“He already has his trial, in a week.” Disbelief. Not worng either.

“It took the citizens of paris a week to finish voting. Finally tallies come in tonight if we try him as humans or if the kwami—gods of various concepts—are the ones to try him for his crimes. Afterall, he enslaved one kwami and abused another.”

Superman was not doing well, far too pale. Shock? No, they sent so many videos before the JL banned them.

Guilt. Regret, too. Probably.

“Now can you put me down somewhere? I’m not out as a meta and indont plan on being out anytime soon. Any supporting the miraculous teams do have their enemies too, and i dont want to be targetted.”

Superman nodded. Numb? Possible.

She let hersef be taken down.

Pegasus was there, Flash on his way. Another person who could make her.

She had to move fast.

“I hope I cleared things up?”

Superman nodded.

Max was ready to fight, glaring at the blue boyscout.

“Ready to go Miss DC?”

Marinette nodded, letting him guide her to the portal.

Flash didnt make it in, but he didnt see her face either. She’s take the narrow victory.

They exited in the Paris Grande Hotel. The Mayor had Batman and Red Robin with him. Crap.

“Is this...”

“Our civilian contact, Miss DC,” Pegasus stated almost too professionally. Great, now Red would know they know each other as friends. batman too.

“Batman, Red Robin, correct?”

“Yes. We, we just found your heroes videos and came to help. I see we’re too late too.”

Marientte nodded, avioding eye contact with Red. She wasnt sure if he learned to act infront of Batman yet, and wasnt risking it.

“I heard you came up with many of the emergency procedures and built the comms system with Pegasus.”

“As a flyer, yes. As Miss DC I just make sure the team stays fed and Chat doesnt forget to sleep.”

Batman shot Red Robin a look as he said, “I know the feeling.”

Marinette didnt fight the smile then. Yes, that was her Hero Stalker Tim alright.

“Would you two be interested in helping the league develop a better system to sort incoming messages?”

Pegasus moved first. “If we do, Miss DC is to be left alone. Her mother is very atrict about her not getting involved in science, and refuses to believe that her daughter has been actively helping the miraculous team.”

Batman turned his attention to Marinette then. “Is that so?”

Marinette nodded. “My birth father and her left on... terms i never got the jist of. He and his friends teach me in secret. Mama,” not maman, she forced herself to say, “she said something about it being destructive and dangerous, so she wants me to stick to the arts instead.”

Batman nodded. “Experiments can be, but that doesnt undercut the good you’ve done. I’ll tell the league you will work off-site should you accept.”

Marinette nodded along. “I can help where Pegasus gets stuck, and be contacted through him but otherwise would prefer not to be contacted by the League. I’m a civilian, and no offense, but there ahve been leaks before.”

“Understandable. The league thanks you for your help, and apoligizes for what you went through.”

Marinette could feel the hole Red Robin was burning into her. He earings. And the fox miraculous. Shit. He knew.

Marinette wanted to punch the league in their face collectively.

“All May i go now, i have a meeting to get to.”

“Of course.”

Pegasus opened the portal and escorted her out.

They both waited five minites, Max feeding Kaalki, for the call.

“So why didnt you tell me?” Tim was pissed.

“Media blackout. Any time i tried to call it was blocked.”

Tim swore. “Alfred!”

“You are so lucky Pegasus doesnt know anything about gotham.”

“He’s there?”

“I work with him alot.”

“So when you visited Gotham...”

“French government would know. Not hard to connect the dots of girl leaves to see gotham fmaily and suddenly the league shows up after banning all of Paris from contact.”

“I. When did it happen?”

“Before Chrismas. I would have had Nonna tell you but she didnt know either until after the fact and they said if she told anyone itd be me going to jail for her.”

“That’s. What hellscape do you live in?”

“I died so many times i don’t even know now.” She stopped keeping track after she got into the eighties. That wasn’t even a full year into being Ladybug.

“That’s not comforting.”

“Please tell me that you’re not outing me to Bats. I just got two leaguers off my tail.”

“I won’t tell him, but if the new Robin does i’m not stopping him.”

She almost forgot Talia’s son was a Robin. She didnt see him in uniform yet—as Damian (not wayne but damian who was mourning lost family, damian who didnt know how to talk to people his age). She knows he’s a bit thick with social cues, and his detective skills need work in her opinion but he’s skeptical and has good insticts. He might make her as Marinette if he’s there.

“Is he...”

“He’s with the Titans now, but theyre debating coming here to yell at the league.”

“Videoing it?”

“Obviously. Want a copy?”

“Ill make popcorn before watching.”

“Rkc are doing well by the way—stopped a human trafficking ring and i think they took the victims.”

“Harley’s working with them,” marientte got he update earlier. “Hood and zsasz took out the lower and mid tier that woudlnt snitch. The case should be smooth sailing—the sirens put out a blanket hit on anyone trying to touch the witnesses.”

“So managing two teams this whole time,” red murmured, almost... bitter, or disapointed in something—no someone. Himself?

“Just tweaking things. Daesuqa handles most the team since she found me and Chat. Apparently she was compatible enough to do a lot of the non-fighting work. I still did battle strategy and all but,” Marinette shrugged.

“She focused in survival aspects here, and long term stability for Gotham. Daesuqa has handled most of non-kwami work here outside of kwami and candidates,” Max added. “On top of her work as a student and designer and inventor.”

Red Robin groaned. “When do you sleep?”

Marinette hummed. “I have meds to make me. And angry family to make me take them.”

“Her... what are we calling him now?” Mac was asking about Felix, adiren’s gremlin cousin who’s mom isntryign to adopt her. Also a fellow reverse theif and possessive friend.

“Uh, gremlin.”

“Her gremlin calls to let is know if she does get rest on the weekends and we trade off on weekdays.”

Red robin hummed into the phone. “So staying to the shadows?”

Trixx and Tikki looked up at Marinette at that. tikki wanted her to be the Ladybug, the be seen and everywhere and she...

Trixx knew why Marinette liked the shadows and background. Trix understood that bit.

“Yeah, i’ll still play in between and have some kwami things for life now.” She and Chat were working out gaurdian duties still.

She wasnt interested in the JL.

possible plot???: jeremy heere, local sky high loser. he’s the son famous superhero and supervillain, and the divorce kind of took a huge toll on his dad, so he’s out of the business. nobody’s seen jeremy’s supervillain mom ever since, but he doesnt really care. really. he’s more worried about how he’s going into junior year and he still doesn’t have a power. it sucks (purposely being vague about powers of everybody in the heere household because I DONT KNOW!! but the possibility are ENDLESS!!)

my brain cant make plot rn. i figure a squip plotline in this au would be absolutely riveting, but too bad i cant think of anything for it sjfhkdsjfhd. what i CAN think of is POWERS.

michael strikes me as a technokinesis kid!!! which is so rad but he still gets put into sidekick because he cant really control his powers. he can talk through devices and make gadgets work with his mind, but uhhh focus? whats that?? he’s fritzed so many phones because he was excited. he tried to microwave something from the other room but got distracted and nearly destroyed his entire home. this is kinda one reason why he likes retro stuff!! old gadgets are sturdier and simpler, so they don’t break under his powers.

(michael has a nokia phone he’s been trying to break for years. no dice.)

christine is a shapeshifter!! mostly into animals. but geez, actually getting to shift into the right thing is difficult. she tries really hard to shift into a cat but her heart says it’s a hummingbird day today, so welp. what happens happens.

i know the obvious route for rich is fire powers and ive been trying to think of a subversion but honestly?? it fits?? also rich works at a chinese restaurant: CONFIRMED.

jake seems like a classic hero type so im really tempted to give him super strength. he’s the next big hero in the making, everybody knows it

chloe has ice powers and will kill you if you call her elsa. the chill people get when she walks down the hallway is not just sheer intimidation. the room temperature literally went down a few notches

on the flipside, brooke can control plants!!! she cant (wont) do anything of the offensive attack type with it, but her control is flawless. she makes sure to only grow hardy, temperate plants when chloe is around, just so that she doesnt get sad when things wilt.

that’s all i got. it’s illegal for me to say anything else.
