NPMD headcanons based on nothing but what my 100% Real Psychic Powers tell me

- richie hates eating peanuts. not because he’s allergic, not because he dislikes the taste but a Secret Third Thing

- after exactly 2 hrs, 35 mins, and 16 secs pete will always ALWAYS stretch back and let out the loudest scream known to man to get his extra energy out

- ruth wrote an entire 1 hr 30 min musical based on star wars one night and it’s on soundcloud somewhere but she won’t tell anyone how to find it (pete found it on accident but won’t tell her because he knows she’d probably freak out about it, he still listens to it occasionally)

- steph can play the bass nd her go-to song is hey barbara (IV of Spades)

- in line with this ^^ pete has rudimentary guitar skills and wanted to write a few songs with ruth’s help but she refused

- grace wanted to learn how to play the flute but was never allowed to bc her parents thought it would “give her ideas”

- richie’s trans awakening was in elementary when he and two other friends wanted to dress as the kids from dinosaur king nd the other girl was really insistent on being zoe so he dressed up as rex and it Felt Nice

- richie’s BI awakening was the sasunaru kiss and he thought he was homophobic bc he “felt weird after seeing it”

- RUTH’S bi awakening was watching lotr fellowship of the ring when arwen said “if you want him, come and claim him” (she rewatched it multiple times and didn’t sleep)

- one time in elementary grace really wanted candy but her parents were Very against it so she paid a friend to get her one (1) gumball and dhe felt so bad she cried about it and wanted to lock herself up in church

- richie is Mildly into kpop (bc a lot of anime enjoyers i know also like kpop) and he tried to get ruth into it too (mostly the choreography bc he wants ruth to get into dancing again)

- everyone in grace’s elementary was reading harry potter nd she wanted to know what the hype was about but didn’t want the Devil Magic to get her so she borrowed a copy from the library under another student’s name and then burned it after reading to “show god she condemned the devil worshipping” (i think she’s unhinged enough for that)

- pete’s favorite scooby-doo character is shaggy ahaha

- steph used to roleplay teen titans with some childhood friends and would always ask the boy she liked at the time to be beast boy so she could be raven and pretend they were a couple

a small collection of grace headcanons that im using for a fic right now:

- autism. ruth and richie are suspicious that she has it, but her parents never saw a need to take her to a doctor- they just gave her what she needed when she needed it (modeling this after a friend of mine and also myself)

- adores the story of anastasia. favorite movie. comfort movie. she knows every line. can talk for 4 hours about the real story

- very very good relationship with her parents. shes the light of their life and she would never dream of leaving them. usually.

- has three very specific safe foods, but loves trying new things. her foods are orange starbursts, cheddar cheez-its snapped and peach yogurt

- owns, like, a dozen spare bibles. she takes a spare one to church every day with her own in case anyone needs or wants one

- you know those annotations that people will do with books? the tabs? thats what graces personal bible looks like

- huge history buff. she especially likes learning world religion. she finds it facinating

- tripped and fell on a boy in 2nd grade and thought it would get her pregnant. the boy was max. he doesnt remember this, but she sure does. she cant look him in yhe eye ten years later.

- cannot wear colors that aren't very light pastels or white. even in socks. it makes her eyes sting. only exception to this is One dark green plaid flannel that someone gives her one day

- huge huge huge bracelet enjoyer. she loves jewelry. earrings, necklaces, rings, she doesnt care. she finds it all so pretty and would love to sell her own creations some day

- carries her bible in that little pink backpack. also carries various snacks- on top of her safe foods she carries salty snacks, protein bars and chocolate bars for people who need salt, sugar or food in general. she gives these out to anyone who needs or wants any (she buys petes favorite chocolate and only gives it to him)

- her house has a cozy little basement and she has her friends down there all the time

- she definitely makes her own birthday cards and presents to give to people. everyone gets a handwritten letter from her

- a mother hen about things like sunscreen and proper diet

I'm picturing after Dan and Donna take their parental leave the news studio like freaks out and just grabs random Hatchetfield citizens to fill the void and they all do terribly. I think the age limit to enter is 18, which means you can have a fresh faced high school senior next to a woman going through a midlife crisis. & because I’m such a comedy genius, I think the cruel fates would pair Charlotte with none other than Max Jagerman. & of course she has no reason to fear him, she has no idea who he is other than “the quarterback.” But every time she stutters or slips up he fucking makes fun of her & it’s honestly painful to watch this sweet woman doing her best get bullied by this young cocky asshole. But hey, views! It escalates when Ted rushes in, wielding Peter’s old metal Spider-Man lunchbox full of rocks btw & whacks him upside the head. He’s barely conscious & Ted says “don’t you dare talk to her like that ever again. And leave my brother the fuck alone” everyone at Hatchetfield High is obsessed with that clip

The Peanuts episode is iconic, Papa Dan is just talking to himself while they put captions for what Peanuts is saying, but it’s just dead silence😂

It’s a much deserved break for Dan & Donna & they’re enjoying all the craziness!

i'm bored on a road trip so more headcanons but this time not richie

-peter used to carry a fannypack full of sweets but stopped after the sweets kept getting stolen, he now hides them in his locker

-he has alternating times where he staysbwith his brother and his parents.

-after he started dating steph, ted started making very loud cringey jokes whenever he would drop peter off on his dates to try to embarrass him.

-peter started dressing more like a librarian whenever steph complimented his sweater(he proceeded to buy at least 5 identical sweaters with only the color different)

-Steph has dyslexia and she struggles in English and biology the most.

-She only realized that she might've had it whenever peter mentioned it and she went to go get tested(rich kid money)

-she was happy to learn that she wasn't stupid and couldn't read

-peter and steph now meet up after school almost everyday just to work on hw

-steph now goes to school almost everyday because of pete and doesn't skip anymore

-peter bought both of them promise rings after they reached the 1 year mark

-after they graduated they went to separate colleges but call each other constantly and do long distance (they are in love, if only i could have this)

-peter memorized steph's order at beanie's and would buy her order randomly as a gift

-peters love language is gift giving

-stephs love language is quality time and physical touch

ok now time for max and grace

-max used to be great at school but then his dad turned into an alcoholic

-he and richie used to be best friends befire he started self-isolating

-he has some guilt for ditching and bullying richie but he drowns it out with the power he feels from bullying

-he is surprisingly progressive and supports queer people

-he gets mad whenever people are homophobic and transphobic (he is a shitty person but not that shitty)

-he enjoys horror movies and thats why he enjoyed the nerds prank so much

-he secretly collects trinkets of his favorite slasher/horror characters

-grace felt a twinge of guilt after max died but it was short lived

-during the summoning grace felt a weird pulling to the black book and snuck it away after the whole ritual

-when she opens the book she can hear the lords in black laughing in her head

-when she opened the book for the first time after max's death the lords in black showed her a small glimpse of max's torture

-her parents thought grace had a demon in her after she came back home and called the priest to exorcize her

-she stayed in her room for a week after her parents did that to her

-she grew to hate her parents after using the black book

-her whole religion was shattered in front of her eyes whenever the lords in black were summoned

Can y'all imagine if the nerds actually got away with the unaliving of Max Jagerman and they were just living their best lives. Everyone at school is nice, and it's just great, and Stephanie Lauter is getting closer to her pretty boy Pete. They are toeing the line between dating and not by like a thread. Steph is elated! She's even considering just saying fuck it and asking him to be her boyfriend when it happens.

It's lunch, and everyone is sitting wherever they want. Steph used to have her table before, it was basically the popular kids table and it kind of sucked since it was in the middle of the cafeteria and it was needlessly eye catching since Brenda and Stacy decorated it. The decorations moved to a table closer to the doors but not too close, Pete had said it was logically the best table, and Steph didn't even bother to argue. She had it bad...bad bad.

But, she actually really liked it. She got to sit with Pete, Ruth, Richie, and yeah, sometimes Grace if she wasn't sitting with the Bible Study Club. But she also got to sit with Brenda and Stacy, who had made it their personal mission to help "glam" up Ruth's headgear. Kyle and Jason were there too, usually sitting closer to Richie to talk football, and surprisingly, anime. It seemed like Kyle got really into it, and Jason wasn't far behind from falling. Trevor was there also trying to talk to Ruth about drama and it was all just really....nice.

It had been a normal lunch until Pete took off his glasses to clean them because Richie had been describing a new anime he started, and he got too excited and smacked Pete in the face. Which resulted in Pete muttering about smudges. He took them off and , look, Steph had seen him without the glasses briefly when he had the godawful black eye, but it was different up close with nothing like a black eye to distract from his cuteness. She didn't even hear what was said, but it resulted in Pete laughing and completely forgetting his glasses.

Stacy shrieked, which startled everyone, but then she said, "Oh my god! Pete! You're so cite without your glasses!"

And yeah, Steph felt the ugly jealous monster creep in at that, but she knew Stacy wasn't into him. If that had been it, it would have been fine, but after that, it was like girls were talking to Pete more and trying to get him to take off his glasses.

Richie and Ruth teased Oete that he was in his "Y/N Era" whatever the hell that was...

But Steph didn't like it! She noticed Pete and his cuteness way before anyone else! She mentally called dibs and yeah she knew that was wrong, but if one more girl or actually it was some boys too, if one more person tried to hit on her man she was going to riot.

Headcanon that Grace’s love language is media. She obviously has a lot of hangups about physical touch and I feel like she wouldn’t be the best at using words to comfort people (love her but she’d probably accidentally say something that made them feel even worse lol), so if one of her friends is distressed she’ll put something on (movie, show, video game, etc) that she either knows is their favorite or thinks they’ll like. She’s weirdly good at guessing, too, and she’s helped them all discover new favorites.

With Steph, whenever her dad says something that really stings (even if Steph will never admit it and will say she’s just annoyed that he won’t get off her case), they watch so much trash reality TV together. Grace insists that it’s sinful filth and she’s only tolerating it for Steph’s sake, but she gets super invested to the point of actually yelling at the TV and it never fails to get Stephanie to crack a smile. Stephanie’s actually gotten into Twitter beefs with a couple cast members from previous seasons of Love Island (they just HAD to defend that problematic dog) and Grace thinks that’s the coolest thing ever.

With Pete, it’s old school video games. He has every retro console imaginable and especially likes the older Legend of Zelda games. Whenever he’s feeling down, Grace just has to get him rambling about the lore and showing her all the hacks and Easter eggs in the games and soon he forgets whatever was bothering him.

With Richie, it’s the Danganronpa games. Whenever they figure out who did it, she has endless thoughts on why the culprit’s plan was stupid and what they should have done differently to not get caught and Richie finds it both amusing and mildly concerning. They also watch a lot of anime in general (obviously, it’s Richie after all) and he’s endlessly fascinated by Grace’s deep analysis of the religious symbolism he didn’t catch on his previous watches.

With Ruth, it’s classic movie musicals. Ruth has a lot to say about them and the influence they’ve had on musicals today and at first, whenever she catches herself rambling about it she apologizes for being annoying and gets super flustered and embarrassed, but Grace encourages her to keep going because at least Ruth isn’t crying anymore. Grace actually really enjoys the music and the pretty costumes and larger than life choreography. She also appreciated that there was no sex/vulgarity in them until Ruth ruined it by explaining that there totally is, they just had to rely on more subtle innuendo. As a wise man once said, a song is a dick in sheep’s clothing. They also watch newer musicals sometimes, although they’re limited to ones that have pro shots or movie versions available because Grace refuses to watch bootlegs. Once Ruth’s really comfortable with her, she points out all the characters that are dream roles of hers and how she’d portray them.

With Max (assuming a Max lives/gets redeemed AU), it’s cartoons. He’s reluctant to admit to liking them because he’s worried it’ll make people think he’s stupid and childish, but one day he came to her house looking like he’d been crying after his dad really went in on him for failing a test and she put on Gravity Falls at random. She doesn’t approve of the satanic magic it promotes, but he seemed to like it and she would have done anything to get that devastated look off of his face and make him stop putting himself down. They also regularly watch Veggie Tales together after they discover they both grew up watching it.

She also makes them a cup of hot water to sip on because that’s what her mom always does for her when she’s sad. They all think it’s weird, but they still drink it because they appreciate the gesture and over time it sort of grows on them.

I just feel like the two piece is definitely her and her usual aesthetic with the indie mixed print top feels right to me at least. It was also her idea to get matching bathing suits with Ruth.

Peter

He’d probably wear something really simple like this, but he thought he packed a swim shirt too? (He did. Stephanie hid it.)

Richie

He 10000000000% has the tacocat swim trunks. I will not be taking criticism on those. Richie would wear any swim shirt with it that vaguely matches but not really.

Ruth

Stephanie saw the Dino print on the bathing suit she got and was like “Ruth Ruth Ruth” lmao but I think Ruth would prefer a pair of bottoms more like a skirt. Having technically matching swimsuits with Steph makes her so happy that she only gets a little upset when her curls inevitably get wet.

So just imagine Ted meeting the rest of the Lords in Black. That man has no idea what the hell is going on, where the hell he is, or who the hell they are. But he doesn’t appreciate it & really isn’t all that impressed so I think he’d resort to being very snarky & defensive. Like they introduce themselves as the lords in black & legit do the whole song & dance. He just stands there swaying along & waits for them to finish & then goes “for the “lords in black” you sure are a bunch of rainbow lookin’ motherfuckers” complete with air quotes & everything

Chaos ensues when Tinky tries to keep his brothers from killing his new kidnapped boyfriend while Ted just keeps pissing them off on purpose

Shit like making fun of their full names in a teasey asshole way, which leads to informal introductions with their nicknames. & y’all he straight up bullies Wiggly & calls his ass out. Like “Wiggly? No relation to tickle me wiggly I suppose” & laughs at his own joke & Wiggly is quietly seething & goes “actually, yes” & Ted, lovable bastard that he is, doubles over in laughter like “oh my god, really? Fuckin’ A! So what, I just tickle your tummy and we’re friends or some shit?”

& Wiggly snatches his wrist & is like “don’t you even think about trying that again” & yeah it’s a little scary, but he’s pretty sure Tinky will protect him. So he just smirks & rolls his eyes like “ok riddle me this wise guy: why make a tickle doll of yourself if you don’t wanna get tickled?” & does that fucking shrug from tgwdlm (where he’s like I say we go & beg for the king’s help around 4:40 in the video) but he basically renders him speechless as he’s getting ready to lash out & make Ted eat those words. But Blinky’s like “we’ve all been thinking it, haven’t we?”

Ted is just enjoying the show as Wiggly’s all pissy & defensive like “I’ve told you it wasn’t even my idea!” But the rest of the lib are like “yeah suuuure” because they never pass up an opportunity to tease the shit out of him. & Ted just keeps stirring the pot & Wiggly decides to wreck him since he thinks this is all just so funny
