I did something really stupid. My heart is just beating really fast.

I booked a trip to Disney later this month for my birthday. 🥲🥹

I turn 30 later this month and wanted to celebrate with the big cheese himself. I’ve been checking the website like crazy hoping something would come up and be affordable. Wasn’t having any luck. Well tonight really this morning early a value resort pulled up and I snagged it.

Woke my mom up and everything. I’ll have to make three days worth of sub plans 🫠 but I get to walk into the Magic Kingdom on my birthday.

Plus I get to do another EPCOT festival.

Guess first thing Monday when I’m back at work is to put those days in!

I know you don’t rewrite arcs until they’re done, but I love hearing about your early ideas while I brood over how badly this arc has let me down. Do you have any like super vague ideas about Splashtail’s motivations yet? He’s like a way worse Hawkfrost in my mind, because they’re both very young cats who Are Just Evil. But Hawkfrost had a genuinely interesting backstory that the Erin’s simply fumbled, meanwhile Splashtail is a cartoonishly evil atheist. I feel nothing towards him, he’s not intimidating or interesting or even funny. Save me Bonefall save me (if I got something wrong please ignore it, these books are so disappointing my brain is making me forget them to protect itself.)

If it helps at all, I'm staying sane with the observation that Hawkfrost is a high charisma character making critical failure rolls, while Splashtail is a cringefail loser with no stats rolling nat20s. He becomes 50% more sufferable when you imagine a long, pungent pause after anything he says, broken only by the sound of an offscreen player tossing some dice. When the silence is broken, it's whatever NPC has been charmed speaking in the beleaguered voice of the dungeon master.

SO my early thoughts are shaping up to be that I'd like to do a slightly more serious version of that.

BB!Splashtail is the Clan equivalent of a 19-year-old, desperate for more power and respect in his society. In terms of his stats, he's promising but not outstanding. A decent fighter, a competent leader. Even in terms of lineage; his father is Sneezecloud, a respected trader and negotiator, but his mother is Havenpelt. An ex-rogue who has sworn to live by the ways of RiverClan.

Curlfeather is the one with the plans. She's the one with vision. Daughter of Reedwhisker, grandchild of Mistystar, with grand leaders like Bluestar, Oakheart, and Crookedstar in her past, greatness runs in her blood. Scandal, too-- but for some reason it's acceptable that her great-grandparents were codebreaking traitors.

Splashtail hates Curlfeather, but he can't get anywhere unless he tries to be her. He steals HER plans. He acts like SHE does. Manages to snatch power from her paws, and then has no idea what to do with it.

I'm thinking that I want his reign to be going smoothly at first, actually, going from a bit of a bossy jerk, to trying to enact Curlfeather's ambitions by launching fights and doing it badly, to active tyranny as he tries to keep control over RiverClan. Depending on how Star goes, I might have Berryheart make some kind of move to seize power over him.

At the core of how I see him though, is that Splashtail has no plan. His ideology leans Thistle Law... in a sort of dumbass 4Channer kind of way. He talks a big game about the glory of battle, but folds fast when his enemy can punch back. The only person he could successfully manipulate was a traumatized child. He will bring back pureblooded glory to the Clan, except his personal family of course

As for the Evil Atheism stuff... lol. Lmao, even. Not needed. If I need to make him a more powerful and serious danger, it's not going to come from the fact he's godless. If being an atheist gave you super murder powers, Bill Nye would have used them to obliterate half of the US government by now.

Depending on how the last book of ASC goes,

The Harelight kill is probably going to get changed to Hallowflight. Harelight watches his dad die, and Splashstar is drenched in the blood of one of RiverClan's most famous heroes. No turning back after that.

On that note I'd also make the fight longer and bloodier. A butchery of an execution showcasing Splashtail fighting like a beast and Hallowflight like a trained warrior.

I REAALLY want to make Splashtail's death a drowning. Curlfeather, demon she is now, finishes him off by dragging him under. To protect her daughter. They will have to do something VERY satisfying for me to not do this.

"A little Darwish tale worth telling: My husband, photographer Michael Nye, once photographed in a West Bank Palestinian refugee camp for days, and was followed around by a little girl who wanted him to photograph her. Finally, he did — and she held up a stone with a poem etched into it. (This picture appears on the cover of my collection of poems, 19 Varieties of Gazelle — Poems of the Middle East.) Through a translator, Michael understood that the poem was “her poem” — that’s what she called it. We urged my dad to translate the verse, which sounded vaguely familiar, but without checking roundly enough, we quoted the translation on the book flap and said she had written the verse. Quickly, angry scholars wrote to me pointing out that the verse was from a famous Darwish poem. I felt terrible. I was meeting him for the first and last time the next week. Handing over the copy of the book sheepishly, I said, “Please forgive our mistake. If this book ever gets reprinted, I promise we will give the proper credit for the verse.” He stared closely at the picture. Super deep and way too much reading into -analysis of kot kot incoming

Okay but I'm convinced that kot kot is literally it's crazy it's part 2 in that Jere feels like his life is an endless party 365 days a year and he can't escape, and he feels like he's doomed to dance (mut on tuomittu juhlimaan).

I think the first teaser we got will maybe be like the last beat drop where, after he's talked about how draining it is to constantly be in demand and how he can't give himself a break, he goes back to the old "silly family friendly" Käärijä we all know. Bcs that's what the first teaser sounded like, kinda silly and simple lyrics with a sound even kids might like, just like how CCC became popular amongst kids here. And he feels tired and trapped by this persona the chickens, we the audience, have created for him that he feels like he has to live up to. Other artists, 'the smart ones who went to bed', realised earlier than him to rest and to prioritise their own health, while he pushed on and almost burned himself out. Just like ICIP, with the verses being about endless parties and no escape, and the chorus being a bit silly and a mindless party song you wouldn't think twice about.

Also I feel like them using stripping was a way to really hammer home how he's just another entertainer for the chickens to enjoy without having any regard to his personal wellbeing. (I'm not saying that strippers = exploited people, it's just the most blatant way to express that in a visual way). The chickens laugh and drink in the video while Jere provides them something to look at, even though they don't even seem to really pay much attention to his performance anyway. Kinda like how at shows with a lot of 'normies' people only really care to see the silly ccc guy, and don't gaf about his other songs. It also reminds me a little of NYE when families demanded he go and perform CCC for the kids bcs "well why couldn't he just stop by real quick to make them happy", and he did even though it meant 3 performances in 24h for him. Not to mention he had to fly back from sweden and 2 of the performances were outside in -19 degrees.

Idk, to me it just reads a little bit like Jere not being sure how to navigate being extremely popular while having most people in this country not really understand his music, bcs it is a very unique genre. I might be so completely wrong and he could read this while laughing but that's my interpretation of it so haista vittu Jere if you're reading this 🫶🏻

photos were going around of a yibo vcr played in a chanel annual meeting in china. we were all happy to see wyb lookin so good and fresh faced, but what we noticed is his top.

the style of top he was wearing (p1) is very similar to that of GG’s (p2) at the airport when he was flying back to Beijing. it’s probably because the weather is getting colder so they wear this instead of their usual esspensive t-shirts?

the point is it’s kind of like the same-style in a close timeframe from each other. so it seems like their tastes in casual clothes are still very close.

A promo video posted on 20 December shows he's at home, apparently he recorded the same day HSC with Josh H who posts a clip announcing him the next day.

As it seems he spends Christmas at home with family

Despite a fan pic from London posted on 28 December which is clearly posted later on, as he posts a snowman in his garden on 30 December proven to be RT as it was snowing that day in Glasgow.

The same day (30 December) he's seen at the airport in Glasgow, most likely to pick up Marina, who later on posts a reel from her trip to Scotland showing Sam in a pic that matches her stories from 31 December and thus adds up to the assumption she spent NYE at his place

On 3 January Davie posts a pic showing him and Sam in Sam's kitchen. The next day on 4 January a fan spotted him on shuttle boat in London.

On 6 January his hair dresser Charley M posts a story showing Sam had a hair cut at Four, London. The same day we learn about a tweet saying he was seen 2 days in a row in London and after some convo's we got another pic from someone spotting him on 4 January and spoke to him on 5 January.

On 9 January he posts a video running in Scotland near his house in the FB MPC group and the next day on IG (but deleted it later on), announcing a Live IG on Friday 12 January.

On 13 January he posts a video with Valbo working out and mentioning the live IG 'yesterday', so posted RT.

Because of a tweet we learn that he flew on 14 January to Gran Canaria. Another live IG is announced for 16 January and indeed doesn't come from his home, but from a villa in Gran Canaria where it turns out he is not staying alone, even though some seem to question this.

On Friday 19 January he was on an early flight and posted later on from Kitzbuhel, where he stayed the weekend at the Aros Hotel as an Audi ambassador

And enjoyed some skiing after the weekend. After a boxing session on 24 January he apparently went to Munich to watch a football match which he posts about later on though the match was on 24 January in the evening

On 27 January he's at a dinner with Eleanor and Dries at the restaurant Willem Hiele in Oostende

The next day, 28 January he unveils the Star together with Eleanor at the Walk of Fame, the RC for the screening and Q&A, some BTS and an afterparty for fans and vips (though separated) Please see my archive for much more footage

On 31 January he posts a story showing Paris, though later on that same day another story is posted showing him skiing.

On 2 February he posts a picture and tags a producer he met in LA the day before. It's food for debate whether the Paris and ski story were latergrams or not. Hours later on Alex posts another pic in LA, which has a comment of someone they met that day. A picture of that meeting was reposted by S in his stories early Sunday morning (LA time) 4 February.

On 5 February the casting for BOMB is announced by Starz

On 7 February Sam posts a picture with the famous photographer Andy Gotts, he met him in Beverly Hills. While it first looks not to be a photoshoot but just that one selfie later on more photo's were posted from that day. The same day he walked and recorded a video with AN at Runyon Canyon which was posted the next day in the MPC FB group

On 9 February a polaroid was posted by a photographer he followed the night before after doing a photoshoot at the Chamberlain Hotel, West Hollywood for Nobleman Magazine

On 10 February he posts a video driving a motorbike at Huntington Beach apparently recorded on his way to the Ramona Gym with Nic R posted the next day.

While it looks like he left LA, no confirmation of his whereabouts are posted before 22 February being in Sydney, where he was spotted as well by a fan visiting an event at Bondi Beach on 22 February

23 February he's bridge climbing with the rest of the gang, spotted by fans and in the evening spotted for the M&G
