gonna be redrawing a really old pic for lee, but eagr needed an update first

his lore still needs reworking but as of now he's like. a "false" harpy (cockatiel+monk parakeet mashup) he cant fly, his wings dont retract, and his talons start at his ankle (in this case a "true" harpy is more akin to a bird shapeshifter. eagr has no natural ability to change his form)

These might just be words, but aren't names also, only words?

I am looking respectfully at this ask, very impressed with the collection here. You're damn right names are just words and vice versa

Esker - reminds me of Oscar which is p cute actually. Fun geological aspect too. I think this one would harmonize okay with my other two names. Goes into my consideration box

Eagre - Not entirely sure how this is pronounced but I like how it sounds in my head. The gr sound is lovely. Leans maybe a bit close to Eric but otherwise I like it

Ebon/Ebony - Love this name but my oc already has it lmao. I don't think we can be twinning like that sorry

Eke - kinda funny. My parents call me something like this irl when they feel too lazy for Eric

Elrich - too close to Eric but I love eldritch stuff and that as a name kinda rocks ngl. Sounds like a Fullmetal alchemist character. Kinda conflicted on this one

Eos - Simple and effective. The goddess aspect doesn't bother me too much since my other two names are more traditionally masc. Short names are always neat but I'm not entirely sure if this feels "me"

Eon - Nice, like the time measurement. Feels mystic. It's a maybe.

Era - Again a time measurement, neat. Too close to Eric tho

Epoch - Mystic feels. I think this is also a time measurement? I like it as a name for sure but doesn't feel very "me" unfortunately

Escrod - Love that this is just a fish name, that is so good. Young cod. Bless. Pretty funky as a word, I might consider it. Only wondering if it's hard to read tho

Ether - reminds me of Minecraft. And the name Esther which makes it feel pretty feminine. Not entirely sure about this one, but I like that it goes into the "Ethereal" direction

(Some of these I could potentially snatch for oc names. The one I wouldn't consider for myself obviously. Green means I'll keep them in mind, red means it wouldn't work. Black is neutral/unsure)

Yu Gi Oh OC - Ran Pyr

Name: Ran Pyr

Age: 15

Deck: Frogs/Water

Ace Monster: Toadally Awesome

Summoning Chant:

Personality: Ran is an energetic and enthusiastic duelist with a flair for the dramatic. While he isn’t the most skilled or intelligent and tends to largely come across as a joke to his opponents, he can be a surprisingly lethal duelist. Despite his lack of skill he’s eagre to learn and improve. He does this by latching onto more talented and observing them. Because of this he looks up to and admire stronger duelists, such as pros or his friends.

Ran tends to be scrappy, always eagre to duel and often picking fights with people, even if they aren’t really up for it. Despite this, he’s actually rather lacking in self confidence, believing himself inferior to others and always feeling a need to prove himself and be useful. Another flaw of his is being very easily influenced, especially by those he respects and looks up to.

Backstory: Ran is one of two heirs to the Pyr family legacy along with his brother Aiden. The Pyr family is a long running series of fire using duelists, with various traditions being passed down along with the type of deck they use. However Ran wasn’t very good with these traditions, while his brother excelled he found himself near incapable of using any of the fire decks suggested to him. Because of his inability to live up to his family legacy, he grew uncertain of himself and lost confidence. In private though he began to toy around with decks, eventually discovering a love for a deck based on his favourite animals, frogs. After adopting this deck and taking it on as a large part of his identity, he ran away from home, feeling like he had betrayed his family name. There he became a street duelist, always looking for a new opponent and more talented duelists he can look up to.

Strategy: Ran’s deck is largely based around his love of ridiculously high attack. His deck is absolutely loaded with cards that increase water monster’s attack. Aside from this, using his frogs to make Rank 2s (Mostly Toadally Awesome) as well as getting out three Des Frogs (Or Ronintoadins and Dupe Frogs) to wipe the enemies’ fields with Des Croaking and then fusing them from for D.3.S Frog. 

After befriending another water user, a girl who uses sharks, Ran gains the card Cat Shark, that he uses to double Toadally Awesome’s attack to 4400. This becomes one of his main strategies from that point on.

Other things he does include: Using Aquarium Stage to keep prevent his frogs from being destroyed, using Moray of Greed for draws, using Rage of the Deep Sea as a strong attacker once he has a bunch of water monsters in the graveyard and Flip Flop Frog to bounce a multitude of cards to his opponent’s hands.
