hello! yes! i'll be honest talking about things like this always make me a little nervous, and i feel obligated to preface anything i say with a disclaimer that none of it really matters, nothing i say matters, and you should do what you like, because--who cares. i am not an authority on--anything, frankly. my opinion holds no more weight than the next guy's, and all i'm doing here is giving it, so. essentially what im saying is--people are perfectly entitled to disagree with me, but people are not entitled to be mean to me about it xx

having said that. it is my personal opinion that s x barty is one of the worst fucking things i have ever heard lol. who even is barty who is that guy. why would s be interested in him at all. i do not understand it it does not make sense to me. from where are we sourcing the character traits and personality that we are giving barty that would ever endear sirius to him, because it objectively cannot be canon.

overall i do not get the new interest in barty + evan + pandora (+ regulus, but we won't go there)...at all, other than guessing that people were bored with the marauders and wanted a new version of them (and new celebrities to fancast) while simultaneously changing next to nothing about them other than superimposing them onto the first slytherin side characters they could rustle up. i expect ive become a bit of a broken record in regards to my dislike of the popular meow-meow-ification + complete absolution of regulus as a character in order to make him a loveable oc (just as i think erasing all the negative traits that r/s have in order to make them more likeable is just as boring), and all of that applies to those other guys as well (with the slight difference that they are, somehow, even less interesting and significant than regulus in canon), so i won't get into that too much. but i think what you say about having no emotional connection to any of it is exactly right lol--it is a sort of shift? i guess? in the fandom that is simply of no interest to me. they are characters that i just have no emotional investment in and admittedly struggle a little to understand why other people do. i am emotionally invested in, like, five characters overall (and even out of those--there's only two i'm really here for innit xx) and i personally cannot extend that investment to a creepy little side character who is mentioned maybe twice in the entire series.

and that is okay! i do not need to understand it. i don't want to say it annoys me because honestly--i don't go there, its nothing to do with me. if i dont like it i just wont interact with it, and the fact that it doesn't interest me has no bearing on what other people are into or want to do, and i couldn't give less of a shit what people do with the canon material, which is largely garbage anyway. take the bits you want from it, play around with those and ignore the rest. in that respect we are all doing exactly the same thing. but yeah i think s x barty is genuinely awful lol. hate it. very terrible. he's already got a loser werewolf boyfriend and he loves him so so much. leave him alone.

Everyone sat down in huddles and exchanged light conversation. Mattheo pulled out his bong which got everyone looking at him. It wasn't long before everyone sat in a circle and was passing it around and basking in the 'chill vibes'.

"Okay... I'll start Kiss or Tell.. Enzo" Pansy smiled to Enzo.

"I always do, now.. Is it true you hooked up with Pucey and Wood in the same night" Everyone's head snapped to Enzo hearing the same rumour had been circulating Hogwarts for a few weeks.

"Yes and No? I did hook up with Pucey and Wood in the same night but it was also Fred Weasley too" He smirked. Everyone laughing at his response.

"You whore!" Draco laughed.

"I always knew you were sneaky" Mattheo looked at Enzo.

Everyone laughed due to Theo's confession. The game went on a few more times, Draco choosing to kiss Blaise, Blaise admiring he blocked the toilet, Cedric and Enzo kissing, Pansy and Luna kissing, Hermione and Daphnne kissing, Enzo and You kissing which then brings you back to Enzo again.

"OK OK.. Astoria, Kiss or Tell?"

"Kiss duh!" She said as she pushed her hair back from her shoulders.

"Kiss... Mattheo" Enzo span the bottme, watching as it landed on Mattheo, he smirked. Only you, Pansy and Enzo knew of Astoria's mini crush on Mattheo.

"Very interesting actually, I didn't expect that" Cedric looked to Enzo, him nodding along.

You stood up, darting your eyes over to Pansy who had a devilish grin.

"While your both in there we will play Spin the bottle!" Astoria clasped her hands. You turned your head away from her and was faced with a chest. Theo's chest as he stood infront of you. You froze for a moment but he took your wrist and guided you over to the slightly walk in wardrobe. The pair of you pulled the door to the side as you stepped in, closing the door.

"Seven minutes!" Astoria yelled and that's the last thing you heard before shut.

"Why would she change the game" You scoffed, leaning against the wall.

"Very Astoria, flippy-floppy as always" He laughed. The small light in the room, lighting up his face slightly but it was still quiet dark. The pair of you leaning against opposite walls as you looked at eachother. Despite being on other sides it was a small wardrobe. His leg was pratically sandwiched between yours as you both cramped in here. Theo was like 6'1 and you were like 5'6 so the height difference was a bit.

You needed to tap out it was too much for you, you pushed your finger inside you once more before you came all over it, quickly pulling you as you gripped his thighs tightly aa his pace sped. You gaged quite loudly as tears poured from your eyes. Theo pulled out quickly for a moment, jerking himself off harshly as he took your head in his hand. "Yiu ok- Fuck" He moaned as he panted, his dick twitching in his fist.

You coughed slightly, before wiping your mouth and eyes looking up at him nodding.

"Good girl- Ah.. fuck- stick out your tongue" He groaned, as he watched you stick your tongue out staring up at him. His thrusts his hand roughly over his dick as he let out a deep groan as his body jerked as he came on your face, but mostly in your mouth.

You swallowed it all, before licking your lips and wiping some off your cheek and sucking your finger. You stood up looking up at him and smiling as he smiled softly at you, with a fucked out expression.

He leaned against the wall panting heavily as his hand was over his eyes. "Fuck- I can't even see straight" He laughed. You giggled, taking his wrist checking the time and seeing 1 minute.

You pulled your dress back on, zipping it up as you pulled Theo's phone from his jeans, fixing your makeup in the minimal light.

"You got me fucked up" He laughed, pulling up his boxers and jeans and buckling his belt before wiping his face over and ruffling his hair.

"Good, and I'd happily do it again" You smirked, flattening your hair out as the two of you now look widely presentatable.

Just in the moment you heard a mumble before light pours into the wardrobe as the door is ripped open. You squinted adjusting to the light, everyone looking at the pair of you.

"What! I wanted to catch them fucking or something" Mattheo scoffed.

"Boring, I would've been so down for that" Astoria groaned.

"We just spoke, there's nothing else to do" You shrugged, walking back to the group. Pansy's eyes like daggers on you and Theo as she scanned you both. You'd nearly gotten away with it until you turned towards Daphne who was sat next to her to reply and she saw the dark bite mark on your thigh just under your dress.

"Gotcha" She smirked to you and you looked at her clueless. You sat back down in your seat opposite Theo as the two of you smiled to one another.

Like a hungry tiger, you're on high alert. Sure, you're also a bit drunk, so maybe not as sharp as you'd like to be, but they don't call it liquid courage for nothing. "She's completely out of it. Can you please get her home?" you yell over the music, summoning your sweetest smile and fluttering your eyelashes for extra effect. "Pretty please."

"I am not," BF/N interjects, prompting an eye roll from you before redirecting your focus back to your other friend.

You hold out your pinkie finger expectantly, but when he doesn't respond, you sigh and grab his hand with your free one, linking your fingers together.

"See, that wasn't so hard," you say, releasing his hand. As you spin on your heel, you give him one final glance and yell, "By the way, you might want to get BF/N out now. She really can't handle her liquor, if you catch my drift."

A sudden surge of energy courses through you, sending goosebumps down your arms. Whether it's from the earlier shots or not, it gets your heart pumping as you make a beeline straight for the DJ booth.

"Now or never," you mutter under your breath, stretching your neck from side to side.

Once you catch sight of the back of the DJ’s curly dark hair, you tap his shoulder.

The moment your eyes meet, your lips curve into a smile. "Hey you."

The guy offers a wide grin, exposing the small gap between his front teeth. "So she speaks," he says.

You chuckle. "What's that supposed to mean?"

"Nothing much," he shrugs, scratching his nose. "I was just wondering if staring was all you could do or if you'd actually come and say hi, you know? I don’t bite."

"Well, I do," your voice rings out huskily as you appraise him for a couple of seconds. He's wearing a loose blue shirt unbuttoned almost all the way down. "I had to make sure you weren’t the type of person I'd eat alive." Extending your hand to him, you add, "Congrats, you're not. I'm Y/N."

"Happy to have made the cut," he laughs, clasping his hand around yours and pulling you slightly forward so that your hands are the only thing separating your bodies. "Lando," you feel his warm breath against your face.

A trail of tingles shoots down your spine as you simply gaze up at him with an unwavering smile. "I think we're going to have lots of fun."

"Let's," he nods, dragging his finger over his bottom lip.

The heavy thud of the door falling shut jolts you upright on the bed. You'd let yourself in with a spare card—both of you having each other’s—and simply sank into the bed, waiting. Hours have passed, and your fingers are raw from the incessant needing, twisting, and pulling—a bad habit.

Amidst the pulsing headache tormenting you, another ache tightens your chest: guilt. You pride yourself on your loyalty to friends, so consistently letting them down weighs heavily on you.

"Hey, can we talk?" you whisper as Lando enters the narrow entryway and steps into the hotel room.

He startles, not noticing you at first as his head was bowed. Fixing you with a disappointed look, he sighs, dragging his hands down his face.

"Not right now, Y/N," he says after a moment.

"Come on, I don’t want us to be like this."

“Well, it’s not about you right now,” Lando snaps, dropping his bag onto the ground. “You don’t get to break your promises and then get mad when people get upset about it. That’s not how it works.”

"Alright, fine," you raise your hand in the air. "Be like that then. Be fucking sad and miserable, but without me."

A heavy silence descends upon the room, one you're not inclined to endure. With a groan, you rise from the bed and make a beeline for the door. But just as your hand grips the cool handle, Lando's voice halts you.

"Wait, no, I'm sorry. Don’t go. I shouldn't have snapped at you, please just...don't go."

You ponder his words for a moment before releasing a sigh and spinning around, heading toward the dresser opposite him. Crossing your arms, you perch on its edge and simply wait, eyes fixed on the floor.

For a while, neither of you speaks until Lando breaks the silence. "You didn’t miss anything, you know? The race was shit." You tilt your gaze up, noticing the disappointment etching his face as he adds, "Again."

Your mind goes blank—you're not good at handling emotions. It's why you prefer the single, ready-to-mingle but never-more life. It's why you and Lando are whatever the hell this is. You flirt, and while you would have gladly torn his clothes off the first night you met, now it's different. There are strings attached now, so he's off-limits—your rule.

It's just friendly flirting, you'd say, but you don't even remember the last time he's had someone over on a romantic level. Come to think of it, neither have you, and it makes your skin crawl.

"Uhm," you finally respond with a shrug. "I think that calls for a night out. What do you say?"

"What, celebrate the fact that I’m a pathetic F1 driver? That people think I don’t deserve a place in F1?"

"Well, no," you cock your head sideways, walking up to him and intertwining your hand with his. "Just come and have fun, take your mind off things."

"Okay, fine. For you," he sighs, his warm breath brushing against your skin as he brings your hands to his lips, planting a gentle kiss on each, causing a chill to run down your spine.

Although you don't indulge in emotions, you're no stranger to recognising them: his eyes, fixed on yours, dance between your lips and your eyes, a confession hidden within them. It makes your heart drop.

Naturally, you withdraw your hands from his grasp, forcing a tense smile. "You should go ahead. I'll just get changed and text the others to meet us in the lobby."

Without waiting for a response, you hurriedly exit the room, craving air free from the weight of unspoken emotions.

he shrugged, failing to hide his laughter as you playfully shoved him, your own laughter following suit. “nothing, nothing!”

you laughed, eyes brightening with fiery joy. “why are you laughing at me, Luke?” he smiled, eyes tightly scrunching as he scooted himself closer to you, erupting warmth throughout the both of you.

“it’s just funny,” he reasoned, suddenly breaking your eye contact to stare at his empty, devoured plate.

your eyebrow raised, interest peaked as you shoved him again, his head instantly turning back to you. “what is?”

“your attitude.” he quipped, very, very slight fear etched in his words.

“my attitude?”

“yes your attitude. like- you’re so sassy to everyone.”

you scoffed, eyes scrunching up. “well, everyone but you.”

Luke thought for a second, realization crossing over his face. “yeah. everyone but me. why?” he asked, smirk returning and eyebrows raising in anticipation.

“because I like you.” you answered, voice strong despite your weary insides, hoping Luke would fail to understand what you were truly saying.

he softly chuckled, his sweet smirk reappearing. “yeah, cus’ i’m special.”

you snorted, “yeah, you really are special.”

Luke scoffed in offense, and now it was his turn to shove you, dramatically crossing his arms at your words.

“whatever, Sparks. you’re just a hater.”

you laughed, dragging your body closer to his as the two of you continued firing snarky remarks back and forth.

neither of you seemed to notice or care about the stares from the campers around you.

it was unlikely that anyone would understand your unexplained softness towards the hermes boy. they just didn’t understand you like he did.

You had seen it on twitter and it wasn’t long before you were down the rabbit hole. It had showed up on your Twitter feed when you opened the cursed app,

It started with a simple tweet and took you no time to find the source.

It was speculation that you had grown used to. But that didn’t mean that it didn’t hurt that people thought that you were using Max because he had money. You knew that it probably wasn't just the small group of people on Twitter. It never was. There would always be people that wouldn't like that you were with Max. It was just the inevitable.

You had closed your phone when Nico had come up to you with one of his toy cars in hand.

“Are you sad Mimi?” Nico asked.

“No, Nico I’m not sad.” You reached for him before he moved to sit in your lap.

Nico didn’t need to know that people on the internet liked to be assholes for no real reason at times. They talked what they didn’t know about, and speculated on the obvious. Just another day of living in the 21st century.

“Someone wasn’t being nice to me. But, I have you and Papa, grandma, and Auntie Vic. So I should be okay.” You kissed the side of Nico’s head before he curled up with you on the couch to watch something.

You would be okay. They were just comments on a screen, as long as Max didn't find out it would be okay.

"Okay." he muttered before laying his head on your shoulder. You were still a bit jet lagged from getting back from your trip with Max and decided to close your eyes while the movie played on the TV.

“Papa,” Nico said. “Is Mama sad?”

Max looked up from his phone to see Nico in the living room.

They had only been back from their trip for a few days and Y/N had left to go get groceries with his mom. Sophie was leaving in the morning so Y/N insisted on cooking tonight before they dropped her off at the airport tomorrow.

Nico had never called Y/N mama before, not even when they had gotten back from their vacation, and told Nico that he and Y/N would be getting married.

“You called Y/N Mama, you haven’t before.” Max wanted to know why. Why now?

He knew that Nico had grown quite attached to Y/N after she had moved in with them. Nico liked spending time with Y/N. Nico had thrown a fit before they had left for their vacation because he would be without Y/N for a few weeks. His mom had called him once they had gotten to The Bahamas saying that Nico wanted Mimi to come home and had been crying since seeing Max's plane take off.

Nico gave a shrug of his shoulders. Maybe Nico was too young to understand the concept of a mother.

Nico walked away before pulling out one of the children’s books that he would read to Nico before bed. The story had a very basic structure that would appeal to Nico’s mind. It was about a mother lion taking care of her cubs.

Nico’s finger ran over the picture of the lions on the page before stopping on the mother lion. “She’s their Mama, like Mimi is mine. She takes care of me...” Nico trailed off.

He felt his phone buzz next to him, but didn’t check right away to focus on Nico. He pulled him into his arms and then to sit him on his knee.

“Nico, you know that you can call Y/N Mama, right?” He said to his son in Dutch.

Nico nodded.

“I’m sure that it would make her happy if you did.” Nico didn't say anything to Max for a moment. Max saw him nod.

"When is ...Mama coming home?" Nico slowly said, as if he was trying it out for the first time. Letting the word roll off his tongue, and then assessed if he liked it before giving a small nod that Max would have missed if he wasn't looking.

“Soon,” He said. "Why do you think Mama is sad?" He couldn't help but think back to what Nico said when he first came into the room.

Nico gave a small shrug, "She was looking at her phone yesterday. She looked sad."

Max was a little surprised. Why would Y/N be sad about something on her phone? He would ask her when she got home.

“Come, we’ll go play with some of your toys until she and grandma get home.” He was going to leave it at that. Nico didn't need to worry about that.

He checked his phone to see a text from Lando while Nico went to get out the toys that he wanted to play with.

Nico took things out of boxes while Max quickly texted Lando back,

Max quickly locked his phone turning to Nico to give him all of his attention to play with the mini model cars he had.

This was the why Y/N had been sad, she had seen what people were saying about her on Twitter. He wasn't going to even look because he knew it would just make him angry.

Max and Nico had played for a while before Max asked Nico if he would put all of his toys back.

It wasn’t much later that Max heard the front door open to Y/N and his mom walk through the door with groceries in their hands. Max moved from his spot on the couch and helped take the bags into the kitchen.

Max hugged his mom before pulling Y/N close, he cupped her cheek for a moment before kissing her on the lips. He just needed her to know that he was here for her if she needed anything.

“Hi.” He muttered feeling her pull away.

“Hey.” She said back. He tried to search her eyes to see if Nico was right. If she was sad, he couldn't see a trace of it at the moment.

There was the unmistakable sound of light feet against the hardwood floors.

Max and Y/N turned towards the sound to Nico standing just outside of the kitchen looking at them for a moment before running up to Y/N.

“Mama!” He yelled, before his little arms locked around Y/N’s legs.

Y/N looked down at Nico dropping her hand into his hair.

Max could see the tears filling at the corners of her eyes, not expecting to hear that.

Max couldn’t help but look over at his mom, and could see the approval on her face. It wasn’t something that he needed from her, but he appreciated it nonetheless.

He could see that Y/N pushed away the stray tears that had managed to fall before he had reached over and kissed her forehead letting his hand rest on Nico’s shoulder. Max reached up to cup her chin again feeling the slight tremble of her bottom lip. She was trying to stop herself from crying.

As he looked at her he could see the silent thank you in her eyes. Her letting him know how grateful she is to him for letting her have this. To truly be Nico’s mother.

Y/N had kissed the top of Nico’s head before his mom had shooed them out of the kitchen so they could put the groceries away. Max quickly kissed Y/N on the lips before giving his mom a hug and took Nico with him out of the kitchen.

Y/N had started dinner not long after and they ended up eating some pasta dish that took what felt like no time to cook. Through dinner every time Nico asked Y/N something it started with him calling her Mama. Y/N couldn’t wipe the smile off her face for the rest of the night.

Once Max was done clearing the table after dinner he quickly wrote a message and then posted it to his instagram story, from what he remembers his social media manager told him. It was easy enough. Once they were both up and he had checked them twice for spelling, he had left his phone on it's charger for the rest of the night.

He would never allow a few anonymous people to speak ill of his son's mother, Max loved her too much for that.

Sophie had called it an early night so she could finish packing and offered to put Nico to bed. Neither he nor Y/N refused.

Max had tried to get comfortable in bed but he couldn't manage it.

"What's going on?" Y/N said as she climbed into bed. "You’re never like this."

"I got a text from Lando today. Apparently, people on Twitter were talking about you." Max watched as Y/N stopped in her tracks, slowly sitting back against pillows.

She knew, she had seen those comments.

"I'm assuming that you saw them." She said.

"No, I didn't.” He didn’t need to see it to know that Lando was telling him the truth. “Why didn't you tell me?" He asked.

"Because it doesn't matter." Max wanted to fight her on that. People on the internet shouldn't have a right to say things like that about her.

“Y/N,” He started to say.

"I'm his mother Max, Nico sees me as his mom. That's why none of those comments matter." She continued. "I never knew how much I needed to hear him call me that until he did today."

Max could only guess for Y/N how different it was to actually hear Nico call her Mama for the first time. Max remembers the first time that Nico had called him Da. It was barely audible, but Nico had looked right at him when he had said it. He wasn't sure if he was able to breathe after that.

He let out a deep breath before opening his arms for her. She pushed back the sheets resting herself against his side, playing with the loose thread at the hem of his grey t-shirt.

“Mijn leeuwin,” He started to say. “Is this something that you want?” He asked.

“Do you want to legally be his mother?” They had talked about this months ago after he already had gone to get the ring made. Making it legal was just another step for them to fully be a family.

“I don’t need to legally be his mom Max.” She stiffened in his arms, seeing the reflection of the diamond ring just out of the corner of his eyes.

“Do you want to though?” He echoed. He knew that she didn’t need it, she hadn’t in the last few months since they had talked about it the first time. She had never pushed for Nico to call her anything other than the nickname that he had for her.

He looked to see her slightly nod, her eyes glassy with the threat of tears ready to spill from her eyes.

“I’ll give it to you.” He could make it happen, a few calls to his lawyer, looking through the papers that his ex left him about giving up her parental right to Nico, talking to Raymond and it could all be settled just after the wedding.

“Max.” She dropped her head to his shoulder. She didn’t have to say anything else but his name. As she looked up at him again he could see how grateful she was for letting her have the option to legally become Nico’s mother.

Neither of them had to say anything in that moment. It was settled, they were going to start the process of Y/N adopting Nico.

It wasn’t long after that they both fell asleep curled up around each other. Exhausted from the high emotions of the day.
