I think what more people need to understand is that the pjo cast were cast with the intention of matching the reasoning behind their book appearance, rather than just how they were described. Luke, for example, was described in the books as a blond, muscular surfer kind of guy. At the time of publishing (2005), that was your generic attractive character, and he was described like that to make you trust him more so the betrayal was more unexpected. Now, almost twenty years later in the show, he looks like a tiktok fuck boy because that’s what people now tend to like more. On the other hand, Annabeth was blonde in the books because that was what made people doubt her intelligence, which isn’t something as common now. However, racism is still very real (as proven by people’s responses to Leah being cast), which makes people underestimate her, giving way for the same character arc. This concept works with the rest of the castings as well. Grover still gives the vibes of a lovable loser. Percy looks ready to sass a ninety year old man. Chiron looks appropriately wise and the Ares kids look ready to fuck you up.

The only character that I would say is different is Clarisse. In the books she’s described as big and muscular and ugly, as it was quite common at the time to say ugly = bad which is something that has not aged well at all. Dior’s casting goes against those negative attitudes and ties into the theme of “not everyone who looks like a monster is a monster and not everyone who looks like a hero is a hero”

And at the end of the day, everyone in the cast perfectly captures their characters’ personalities regardless of their appearance

That night felt like a painting. The vibrant blues and violets contrasting against the pale moon, made for a perfect meeting spot for Luke and Chrysanthis.

They were both sitting down on a blanket Luke had pulled out, Chrys laying her head in his lap to look up at the stars through the clearing above them. “Okay, so here’s what I’m confused about,” Chrys started, “is Helios in charge of all the stars since they’re all technically suns? Or does he just look after our sun and leave Asteria the rest of them?” Luke chuckled as he played with her hair,

“You know I’m afraid I don’t have the answer to that, but they do look beautiful tonight don’t they.” He stared endlessly into her eyes, they were brighter than a thousand of those stars.

Luke and Chrysanthis had been together for around 8 months now, and those 8 months had been some of the happiest days of their lives.

“It’s almost May, soon kids will be coming in for summer.” Chrys mumbled absent mindedly. Luke grumbled,

“I wish we could be the only ones here. I just want to be with you.” Luke would always get so stressed around summer, just because the amount of kids he had to monitor would increase tenfold.

Chrysanthis buried her face in his shirt, wrapping her arms around Luke’s torso,

“I’ll still be here, don't worry.”

“I wish you’d be the only one here.” He grumbled. Chrysanthis couldn’t help but giggle,

“You sound like an old man when you’re grumpy, it's so cute.”

As they lay together, holding each other’s hands, Chrys paused; her eyes fixed on Luke’s wrist. “Is that my bracelet?” Luke sucked the air in through your teeth,

“It appears I’ve been caught.” he said sarcastically. Chrys playfully hit him,

“I was looking for that bracelet for weeks after you stole it!”

“Okay let’s calm down, I wouldn’t use the term ‘stole’.” Chrysanthis rolled her eyes,

“You stole my bracelet. Not cool.” Luke placed his hand on his chest, gasping with faux shock on his face,

“You wound me. If you really want it I’m happy to give it back.” Chrys repositions her body away from him,

“Well I don’t want it now. I’m used to not having it anymore!”

Luke furrowed his brow as he laughed, turning over Chrys and laying a sweet kiss on her lips.

“I love you so much, pretty girl.” He kissed her again, this time with more passion. He stared deeply into her eyes, only inches away from her face. He played with her hair as he examined her perfection,

“What did I do to deserve you.” Chrys smiled as he kissed her neck, noting every sensation she felt when their bodies touched.

“Hey Luke?” he hummed in response, “I think I’m ready.” Luke stopped in his tracks, staring up at her with his irresistible puppy eyes.

“A-are you sure?”

“Mhm. I’m very sure.” Chrysanthis bunched his shirt in her hand dragging him down further onto the blanket beneath them. The tension was palpable.

Neither of them had done it before, but obviously they knew the basics. Luke removed his shirt, then proceeded to take off Chrysanthis’. They took off their pants independently, then helped each other to remove their undergarments.

Luke burrowed through his bag, and pulled out a condom triumphantly. “Why on earth did you just have one of those lying around?” Chrysanthis chuckled.

“I have my connections.” Luke joked. He crawled his way onto her, savoring the little distance between each other’s faces. She rubbed her nose against his and then began to writhe beneath him, she was getting desperate.

He was ranting about his stupid kids, bragging about his fourth win, he was also talking about one of the new kids.

“You’d like him Chrys, he’s unclaimed but I don’t think that'll last long.” He chuckled. Luke saw him from across the mess hall and waved him over. “I have to go see to some business, but I’d like you to meet my girlfriend Chrysanthis, daughter of Demeter.”

He ran off going to do god knows what, and Chrys was now left with this kid who probably wasn’t much older than 12. She extended her hand for a greeting,

“Hi! What’s your name?”

“My name’s Percy, it’s nice to meet you…”

“You can just call me Chrys for short, I know it’s a mouthful.” Percy smiled as he shook her hand. Luke was right, this kid felt special, he practically had kleos dripping off of him.

As Chrysanthis shook his hand, she knew he was destined for something big. She just hoped she could be a part of that when it happened.

Charlie Bushnell was seen with back scratches in Dior Goodjohn’s vlog a day after YN posted that she had gotten her nails done.

Sources say they saw YN with a man who looks a lot like Charlie at the beach. The same day both and YN and Charlie soft launched their significant other at the beach.

YN had posted that she got new white ribbons on her TikTok just a week before this photo was supposedly taken and she also mentioned her newly bought books on her now deleted instagram story. This was the best moment of your life. The camp was beautiful. You got to see real people training together, not just the ones that come into the infirmary. And Percy was just as amazed as you. It was cool to see someone your own age being new to camp, and that you could use him to get yourself out of that damn house.

Percy made you smile with his small jokes and comments about the place. Which caused Chiron to look between you two without you knowing. You never looked so happy.

“There is a place for you,” chiron points to one of the cabins. A flag hanging from the roof was Hermes and you smile, they welcomed everyone. Many kids ended up in the infirmary after their pranks and you loved to hear the stories.

Percy was to go into the cabin and start his new life while you had to watch and then go back. Of course you were happy for him to have a place. But it would go back to being alone.

“What about y/n?” Percy turned to you with a brow raised. “Don’t you have a cabin?” Before you could answer, the centaur answered for you.

“She is not a Demigod,” he moved his hooves closer and puts a hand on your shoulder. You sigh and nod, “she stays with us. Now say your goodbyes.”

Pushing everything you felt back you mange to give the boy a big smile, “good luck Percy.” And his name in your mouth lift him smitten along with your smile.

He couldn’t wrap his head around why you were here to just stay in the big house. This was a camp for half-bloods and you weren’t one…he wasn’t sure what you were. So why keep you locked up?

“I think y/n should see the inside.” He turn his gaze to the larger man. You could see the mischief on his face.

“I mean, you said you’d give them a tour and haven’t showed them what the insides look like? I think you should keep to your word.”

You cover your mouth with a giggle and he finds himself taking another glance at you with growing pride. However Chiron wasn’t as happy about this because he wanted to get you home and away from everyone…just like the oracle said to.

“I agree, now if you’ll excuse us.” You turn your head and grab ahold of Percy’s hand and start to walk to the cabin door. You had a mission to see everything that you could!

Percy turned brighter by each second and followed you with a clouded head. He stares at the way your hand felt on his. Maybe he could find a way to keep you with him at all time. His chest filled with butterflies and he couldn’t help but to squeeze your hand back as you pull him along.

The cabin was full of campers and bunks crowded around everywhere. You didn’t know what you were expecting but this wasn’t it. I mean the cabin should have been much bigger with the amount of kids that came in, even Hermes had many kids. Just for a second you felt out of place until your eyes set upon another…ones you have looked into before.

Eyes that looked at you many times, the only boy you had a conversation with before. With a scar running across his cheek.

“Well, aren’t we lucky.” The boy stepped closer to you both. His lips curled into a smirk as everyone else the cabin turn to look at you both. The mystery girl and the new boy who took down a minotaur. A odd pair to be seen together.

Percy tightened his hold on your hand at the way he was looking into your eyes and inching closer. Who was this guy? If only he could throw his arm around you to show he already had his claim.

“Luke Castellan.” The slightly taller boy introduced himself. His eyes looked away from you and he was met with percy harsh gaze. The only one now to stop the contest they seemed to have was Chiron who walked behind you.

Camp seemed to get more interesting by the second.

𖤐 . a/n - i just asked siri to pick a number 1-23 (AHHHHHH TYSMMMMM FOR 23 ASKS) and this is what she picked

the bright light peeking through windows and the bustling noise of Hermes cabin did nothing to help wake you up. the fact that you still slept so peacefully, despite all the ruckus, left Luke questioning if you were alive or not. you were, the soft rise and fall of your chest while you slept assured that.

Luke kneeled beside your bed, trying to figure the best way to wake you up. or any way to wake you up. it was almost two pm and here you were, sleeping without a single sigh or stir. “yo, Castellan! ya’girl dead or something?” a loud voice called from behind him. Luke scoffed, he could tell it was one of the Stolls, but ultimately chose to ignore him.

he watched as you softly snored, eyes fluttering. you were deep in a dream, a soft smile forming on your lips as it continued. the very subject of your dream was sitting in front of you, desperate to wake you, not wanting you to miss all three of your meals.

his calloused fingers delicately brushed your hair from your face. he cooed your name softly, continuing to lure you from your dreamstate. Luke left gentle kisses on both your forehead and your cheek, still coaxing you back to the present with his sweet words.

you sighed in your sleep, half awake. Luke smirked to himself, still running his fingers through your hair. “time to wake up, baby,” he whispered, “you’ve already missed two meals.” his calming chuckle sounded right into your ears.

your eyes fought to open – just a little, though. the bright sunlight burned, causing your eyes to slam shut, and your arm to fling over them, almost hitting Luke right in the face. he laughed as you whined, your whine morphing into a yawn half way through. “hi sweet girl, did ya’ sleep good?”

you muttered out a ‘mhm,’ hesitantly uncovering your eyes. when you finally allowed your eyes to adjust, you were met with the kind eyes of your sweet boyfriend. a precious smile engulfed your lips as you stared up at him. he mimicked your smile, fingers still softly brushing through your hair.

“hi, Lukey,” you mumbled, yawning once again, drowsily blinking up at Luke. “hi, baby, what time did you go to bed last night?” he questioned, you took a moment to think before answering him. “8:30,” you mumbled sweetly.

Luke laughed, you’d almost slept a full twenty-four hours, and you would have if it wasn’t for him. he helped you sit up, chuckling to himself at the sheet marks on your arms and your flushed cheeks. all signs of a good night's rest.

he stood up from his spot on the floor, holding out his hand to you to help you up. you gratefully took his hand, standing up and leaning into him. his strong arms wrapped around you, warming you up. it almost made you fall asleep right there.

before you did, though, Luke spoke. “come on, sleepy girl, let’s go get you something to eat, yeah?” he used his fingers to tilt your head up to look at him, waiting for your nod of agreement. you nodded, letting him help you put on your slippers and leading you out of the cabin.

“I mean he’s cute and all I won’t deny that but I don’t like him like that.” You told your friend in Aphrodite cabin.

“Love, are you sure?” She asked “I mean you two just have this weird connection, not in a bad way of course it’s kinda cute if you ask me.” Your friend huffed.

“Oh I’m sure, he’s just a real good friend you know.” You reassured.

“Sure.” She stated “speak of the devil!” The girl spoke up at the sight of Luke from behind your figure.

You turned around still tense from his sudden arrival.

Sure he made you nervous at times but that’s just cause you really look up to him as a friend, right?

“Oh, hey Luke!” You smiled shifting your position on the bench to face him.

“Hey.” He replied.

“Mind if I steal her for a bit?” He asked your friend.

“Sure, she’s all yours.” The girl said with a smirk.

You felt your face heat up.

You didn’t have a crush on Luke, did you?

You’re just overthinking it.

He looked back at you looking for approval.

You simply nodded with a smile and got up, what else were you going to do?

“So? Where are you taking me Mr. Castellan?” You asked.

“You’ll see, just be patient.” He reassured.

“Okay.” You sighed.

He continued to guide you to this ‘mystery location’, you hope you’ll be able to find your way back but who are you kidding you’d be happy get lost with Luke.

Maybe you had to accept that you may have a little tiny crush on the boy but there no harm in having a crush.

“We’re here.” The boy turned back to you interrupting your thoughts.

“Where exactly is here?” You comment.

“Here, just close your eyes.” He instructed.

“Why?” You questioned.

“Just close ‘em, trust me.” He reassured.

“Okay, okay.” You chuckled.

“Here.” He began to guide you to your location, his hand was placed softly on your waist.

His hand placement and close proximity was driving you crazy, and more so what this so seemed surprise was and when you were going to see it.

“You can open your eyes now.” Luke spoke.

You opened your eyes and you were met with a beautiful array of different kinds of flowers and plants.

“Luke, this is-“ you didn’t have words.

“I know you could easily grow something like this yourself, but when I found this I couldn’t help but think of you.” The boy blushed.

You didn’t know what to say, you were speechless, it felt you were being over dramatic but how else would one of Demeter’s daughters react when faced with a secret garden that’s been here for years maybe.

“It’s beautiful!” You said heading into the small garden.

“Yeah, it is…” All the boy could do was stare at you as he mindlessly agreed.

“Oh god Luke, you’re too sweet!.” You turned to the boy.

“Thanks, I’m glad you like it.” He sighed in relief.

“I more than like it Luke, I absolutely love it thank you so much.” You told the boy as you brought him in for a hug.

He froze for a moment.

It wasn’t often he got flustered.

Especially around his friends.

But you two were different.

“Anytime (Name).”

He wrapped his arms around you, savoring the hug.

It wasn’t often either you had moments like this.

It was nice.

He was nice.

Maybe you had a little more than a crush on Luke Castellan.

And maybe he was head over heels for you too.

But for Luke, you wouldn’t mind.

Neither of you would.
