Meet the Seiyuu: Chenya's Hama Kento
Tumblr media
Chenya is voiced by Hama Kento, who says he first became interested in acting after a teacher in elementary school complimented him on how well he was able to read aloud to the class.
He was inspired to look into voice acting by Fukuyama Jun’s performance as Lelouch in Code Geass. Like Silver’s VA Shimazaki, he also cites Lilia’s VA Midorikawa as an inspiration.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hama’s first-ever role was lead character Oliver Gaillard in Cardfight!! Vanguard: Legion Mate.
Hama has since had roles in over 40 anime, 40 drama CDs, 30 video games and nearly 40 live stage performances such as Mutsunokami Yoshiyuki in Touken Ranbu (With Riddle’s Hanae, Crewel’s Ito Kent, Lilia’s Midorikawa, Azul’s Tamaru, Leona’s Umehara and Ace’s Yamashita) Idolmaster SideM: Riyuu Atte Mini!, A3!, and Anidol Colors!.

The Rule of a Fixed and Insolvent Majority
…In the Constitutional Convention James Madison was the greatest figure, but he had no abler coadjutor than Rufus King, then a delegate from Massachusetts, and both used their utmost endeavors to construct a constitution in which the national government should be clothed with real and not merely nominal power. They also acted together in the contest to secure the ratification of the constitution but after it went into effect Madison insisted that it must be construed according to the plain intent of its wording and could not be stretched to fit Hamilton's ideas of government which the Constitutional Convention had refused to adopt. Hamilton took bitterly to heart Madison's opposition to his financial policy, and openly declared a "determination to consider and treat him as a political enemy," and the inner federalist circle in the Senate regarded him in the same light.
One of this circle was Oliver Ellsworth, now a federalist leader, but in the Constitutional Convention a champion of state influence and an opponent of Madison and King. He had insisted upon the term "national government" being stricken from the constitution, stood for equal state representation in Congress, objected to all propositions to lodge extensive powers in the general government, and was one of the men who made the bargain with South Carolina, North Carolina, and Georgia, by which slavery was confirmed by the constitution, in return for a prohibition of taxes on exports and permission to Congress to pass navigation acts by a majority vote. In the Senate, however, in 1789, he drew up and carried to passage one of the most far-reaching acts of the first Congress, that which organized the federal judiciary and prescribed its jurisdiction.
The measures about which the fiercest conflict raged were those providing for the public debt and national bank, which the republicans believed the federalists wished to make engines of power and patronage to the national government. In his famous report of January 14, 1790, submitting his plan for supporting the public credit, Hamilton described a well-funded national debt as a desirable asset of government, and as having also a tendency "to cement more closely the Union of the States." But the South generally objected to the whole scheme, and General Henry Lee, Governor of Virginia, when the measures were before Congress, wrote to Madison saying he would rather see the Union dissolve than submit to "the rule of a fixed and insolvent majority…"
—Ed. Gaillard Hunt (1862–1924), Introduction and notes. Disunion Sentiment in Congress in 1794: A Confidential Memorandum for James Madison, Hitherto Unpublished, as written by John Taylor of Caroline, Senator from Virginia, 1905.

Bonus round: Because I completely forgot to talk about the beginning of this season
Tumblr media Tumblr media
If only somebody told Aichi in Asia Circuit that all he needed to do was show them a picture of Blaster Blade and they would instantly imagine him as him. It would have saved him a whole lot of stress😂.
Tumblr media
Foreshadowing dream? I literally didn’t remember this scene at all before the rewatch so it took me by surprise.
Tumblr media
Kai actually was listening. Now, only if Aichi knew that earlier it in season 1 would have saved him a lot of stress😂(and the whole dark Aichi arc). Well at least Kai knows to be less tsudere and more transparent now.
Tumblr media
What do you mean their not related?
Tumblr media
Aichi just skillfully dodged dealing with magical girls.
Tumblr media
Aichi!!! Aww my heart!!! The angst it hurts!!!
Tumblr media
How in the world did Olivier get a gold paladin (a limit break one I might add) before they ever even existed?!
Tumblr media
Does Rati have Psyqualia? The world may never know. I completely forgot about this too before the rewatch.
Fun fact: This is actually the first time I have ever rewatched Legion Mate in its entirety(yes before this I haven’t seen it since it came out). It’s just not really one of my favorite seasons by any stretch of the imagination. Not to mention, I haven’t really written any Legion Mate arcs in my fan fiction so I never had a reason to rewatch it for writing fanfics. And at least for me the first few episodes of this season are super boring, (At least to rewatch. It would probably be different if I didn’t already know the answer to the mystery.)that’s why it took me so long to complete the rewatch. Honestly, it was almost like watching it for the first time because of how long it had been (6 almost 7 years oof). That’s why I felt it appropriate to do a format similar to my reactions for this rewatch. Well, it’s the same for Neon Messiah so at least it has company😂. I’ll be rewatching Neon Messiah next and eventually G.

Video Art Shows in NYC March 2018
At Gladstone Gallery, Cyprien Gaillard’s 3-D film Nightlife is a wonderfully immersive experience. Starting with Rodin’s The Thinker at the Cleveland Museum of Art, the film then moves to a series of plants and trees moving in slow motion in Los Angeles, followed by the annual Pyronale fireworks at the Olympiastadion in Berlin, and finally a return to Cleveland, where a helicopter lights up the site where Jesse Owens’ Olympic oak is planted. While the film plays, a dub song reverberates throughout the room on a loop, adding to the dreamlike atmosphere.
This exhibition closes 4/14/18.
Tumblr media
(image above via Metro Pictures)
At Metro Pictures is Oliver Laric’s two part exhibition, Year of the Dog. The video animation, the stronger part of the show, takes place in the main gallery.
From the press release-
The animation continues his inquiry into concepts of metamorphosis, encompassing concerns about time and the complex dynamic between human and nonhuman lifeforms. Against a white background, linear animations of fish, fungi, and other figures move and change shape. The lines composing the animations continually extend or contract to zoom in on greater and greater detail, magnifying a sense of time as the images change. While the shapes and figures, as in his previous video works, are drawn from cartoons and Japanese anime, Laric’s subject matter has grown to also include animations based on live footage. He constructed the animation via an exacting technique in which each line moves continually between sequences—in contrast with traditional techniques in which each sequence consists of a series of redrawn frames. As the shapes perpetually transform, an atmospheric soundtrack commissioned from musician Ville Haimala establishes the sense of an unfolding narrative.
In the back gallery are three resin sculptures of a human dog hybrid holding a smaller dog in its arms, titled Hundemensch. Each sculpture is from the same mold but differs in opacity and color.
This exhibition closes 4/14/18.
Tumblr media
(image above via GRIMM)
Finally if you are on the Lower East Side, near the ICP Museum and the New Museum is GRIMM gallery, which is currently showing Desiree Dolron’s video, Complex Systems (2017). Her digital illustrations of the movements of starlings are made more intense by the unnatural patterns she includes, and the sounds that accompany the piece.
From the press release-
Complex Systems displays a digitally drawn flock of starlings, scattering throughout the sky in a loop of ever-changing patterns. In this work themes such as the fragility of existence, impermanence and the dichotomy between the individual and the collective form the conceptual ground of her inquiry. The title of the film is adopted from the scientific field of network research, which employs the term to define the complex interactions between different components of the same group.
The shapes assumed by the birds are proven to be the result of a defense mechanism system: in order to avoid attack by predators, a singular starling keeps track of seven others simultaneously – in doing so, the starling is able to adapt to the changing flying directions of the entire flock, thus keeping the collective intact. The dichotomy between the individual and the collective is at the core of Dolron’s interest in this natural phenomenon. Complex Systems investigates the relation between singular and shared intelligence, prompting questions concerning humanity, the psyche and the possible presence of a collective unconscious.
The link to the human psyche is emphasized by the cyclical character of the film; Dolron underlines the full turn of life in which the starlings function as a metaphor. Their movements change from an initial drive to a final, slow fall, while the murmuration happens in an eternal loop that symbolizes the cycle of life and its fragility. The movements of the starlings, combined with the pivotal soundtrack of murmuring voices that intensify and fade according to the flock’s movements, allude to the human mind in a state of constant flux.
This exhibition closes 3/11/18.

Starting it off with 'zone 3's littlest queen' -Monaxella 2019
Tumblr media
Meet Rowan Voyant, A scientist deep within the heart of Vesper, with Odd ties not only to the spirits of the zone, but has a few curious ties to the director as well, and some interesting people in zone 1, despite never leaving Vesper, unless its for one person in specific whos in zone 1. Though shes not alone, with her Ghostly Consorts, she's quite the curious gal.
About:
Age: 28
Hight: 5"6
Birthday: April 28th
Species: Zone 3 Elsen
Personality:
Comes off as very tired, cold and dettatched from practically everyone. But those who know her know exactly how to get her to smile and joke around, Loves to talk about her work and spectral company. Not actually as cold hearted as everyone thinks she is.
Extra info:
She's completely missing her Right arm, from the shoulder down due to a ghoul fight. She has a metal prosthetic she made special with someone else so she can work properly, though.
Daughter of Viola, and Older Sister of Eliab , JJ (belongs to a friend not me) and Wisteria. Her family is very odd if you actually were to look into it
Physically incapable of burning, or showing physical signs of burnage. Maybe that ties in with her sugar allergy? Oddly enough of a zone 3 Elsen, eating any amount of sugar proves deadly to her.
Some of her projects include making prosthetics for Elsen who lose limbs so they can continue working and not be seen as incapable of work, researching a cure for burnage, and creating a synthetic sugar not made out of dead bodies from the furnace.
Has a body temperature of -276866884677°F. Coming into contact with her skin can be shocking if one is unused to it. Might have to do with her spectral company.
Rowan's middle name is Claira. Making her full name Rowan Claira Voyant. A joke regarding her Clairvoyancy.
Gets in a lot of physical fights with ghouls, and sometimes even Elsen. Never burnts though, due yo traumatic childhood experience she's terrified of burnt Elsen and prefers to stay very far away.
Raised for 19 years (from age 4 to 23) by an elsen who was friends with her mother, Gaillard (found @askelsenstuff ) so she did have a pretty good childhood after her traumatic event.
Father was an absolute scumbag whos name we don't mention unless it is used in mockery of the bastard he was.
Spectre Info:
Name: Oliver
Age: ???
Birthday: ???
Species: Infernal Spectre
Name: Birch
Age: ???
Birthday: ???
Species: Blind Spectre
Extra info:
Oliver joined Rowan when she was 8 years old. He heard her calling for help and fought off a Von Gacy that tried to attack her and broke his horn in the fight. Has been with her ever since
Birch joined Rowan when she was 19 years old. He was attacked by Elsen for getting too close to the sugar in the storage rooms, Rowan found him wounded and helped bring him back to health, he has been with her ever since
Birch relies on Oliver and Rowan due to his inability to actually see.
Birch and Oliver are gay together. Gay ghosts looking after one (1) disaster scientist.

2005 Pierre Gaillard St. Joseph Clos de Cuminaille is surprisingly good. After a couple of underwhelming bottles of their Cote Rotie (way too much oak/vanilla), Gaillard's St. Joseph succeeds precisely where their CRs failed. Grilled herbs, olive tapenade, earthy iron notes and blackberry strike a perfect balance with the acid and the tannins. No trace of oak and a fantastic pairing with the rather peasant-esque dinner of sausage, roasted brussels and parsnip puree. The earthiness of the parsnips and brussel sprouts and the saltiness of the sausage made this such a great pairing. And the acid of the wine cut through the fattiness of the sausage like a laser. #wine #vin #redwine #vinrouge #france #rhone #northernrhone #rhonenord #stjoseph #saintjoseph #syrah #gaillard #pierregaillard #closdecuminaille #2005 https://www.instagram.com/p/BrMIZGGH8pD/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=s5utbzl8kax

"Ah- hello there. No, my Uncle is just... stubborn. Uncle Gail at least let Birch and Oliver take you to my lab, there's a medical kit there that some of your injuries can be treated with. You know Sir, you could help. Make sure my Uncle gets to Lab 48 please. You'll know the one, it's oddly cold inside and there's a bunch of pillows scattered on the floor. I'll check for any one else on the Monorail." -Rowan
Gaillard shook his head. “I suppose, but I can’t stay for long..I was looking for something in the first place,” he replied, dialing down his angered mood.
Joas nodded, crossing his arms. “I know a thing or two about dealing with stubbornness. Oh-my name is Joas by the way.I think I’ve passed by your lab once or twice-was it always so cold? Anyways,I’ll head my way with him.” He gave a smile, one that almost set off Gaillard, seen by the apparent look the old man gave him.
Sunday leaped onto Joas's head,he simply waved at the two Spectures belonging to Rowan.

Went to a shop I’ve been in multiple times, and there was Aichi Sendou, hiding in a corner behind the candy. Never saw him there before. My s.o. found the manager and paid an undisclosed sum to take him home. Aichi Sendou is now in my living room.

The only thing that connects all of this is me talking about Aichi
Tumblr media
Link Joker or Psyqualia😂?Which are talking about 😂? This guy just called Aichi a ninny😂. Rewatching this season with knowledge of If is so hilarious because it implies that Aichi is way more powerful than we think. Aichi may have been able to do all of this with his Psyqualia alone(considering all the ridiculous stuff he was capable of in If). Not to mention, Ren uses some sort of flames against Morris. So, maybe it is possible that he was able to do this using just his Psyqualia rather than Link Joker? Also, I didn’t mention this on the Rati one, but does she have Psyqualia? The way she reacted to Aichi being on Cray implies that she didn’t expect that anyone else could appear there. And she said all of her friends were ‘on Cray’.
Tumblr media
Speaking of that in this scene I would like to point out the bits of blue in the barrier possessed Aichi makes. Is it partly blue because Link Joker is using Aichi’s power (aka Psyqualia)? Perhaps the red bits are because it’s corrupted by Link Joker? After all, Chris made a similar barrier in season 2.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
See Vanguard If!!! It’s not that hard to make Aichi the antagonist yet still be his wholesome self! My poor little baby😭. He’s pushing away his friends so Link Joker inside him doesn’t end up hurting them. That’s probably why he was acting so villainous later so he could try to convince them that he had changed and would give up on them. That’s probably why the Quatre Knights acted so villainous at first too. I think he was putting up a villain front so as I said before they would give up on him. However, his friends are way too stubborn to believe that he would just turn evil😂.
Tumblr media
Even after he got back stabbed last season he’s still so wholesome. Darn, you Serra how dare you take advantage of his naïveté!
