Chapter 1051: Prophecy Fulfilled

So, we get to see the fulfillment of Toki’s prophecy in this chapter.

I had actually forgotten that Kyoshiro/Denjiro is the one to share Toki’s prophecy, plus Orochi’s interpretation:

So, it seems appropriate that he’s the one to emerge first to reveal what has happened.

And, as Orochi feared, the Scabbards are literally emerging from the night to bring the citizens of Wano their freedom.

No sign of Ashura Doji, but it’s hard to believe he’s dead when Kin’emon and Kiku are apparently fine? Oh, One Piece. (Look, Kin needs to reunite with his wife, so I’m not necessarily mad -- just raising an eyebrow.)

Then we get Yamato.

Sigh. Look, Yamato is not my favorite for a number of reasons, so I know my opinion here is biased, but I just don’t think there is enough room in the story for another crewmate. We just got Jinbei at the start of the raid, and Oda’s been pretty obviously struggling to give all the Straw Hats enough screen time even before he officially joined with the increased focus on the Worst Generation. Adding another character to the mix this late in the game just feels bloated and like a disservice to the already underserved Straw Hats.

So, no, I don’t like this.  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Then we get the reveal that the effects of Tama’s fruit are temporary, so that has the potential to be messy in about a month.

But Tama’s flashback, I cry.

Speaking of the Worst Generation, still no sign of Drake. (Or Izo, but he’s not WG.)

I was cracking up at Kid’s reaction to the alliance. Cranky.

But then there is the best panel of the chapter:

Is Law sitting in Bepo’s lap? Bepo has his head on Law’s head and his hand on Law’s shoulder, and I just...

Bepo is the best boi and I am a basket case of emotion over these besties. We are hashtag blessed by this panel.

Meanwhile, Momo is looking good...

Also, speaking of wholesome moments, Kozuki siblings reunite!

This is sweet, but of course Hiyori doesn’t get to do anything but hug her brother. Sigh.

I've been on Twitter a lot lately and i saw the result of the One piece Wano arc end, more specifically the zoro situation, and i wanna rant about it so here i am:

First of all i haven't seen so much zoro slander since the time tik tok and tw were joking about him being racist💀, and tbh it upsets me bc zoro is my favorite and he's a good boy and deserves the world. Anyway I'm a annoyed bc oda seems to not want to give zoro any character development that isn't super subtle. Idk what the reason could be, maybe he is saving it for later or maybe thinks it's gonna make him ooc, i don't know and i don't care. Point is, zoro hasn't had significant character development since before the time skip where he realized his dream comes second to his duty and love for his captain and crew. That was great but that can't be ALL.

Like there's so much to work on with his character, for starters his obsession with overworking himself and his fear of failure, his stoicism, his powers... He's a walking chekhov's gun at this point.

What's really annoying is all the people saying "oh but he did all these cool things and won these fights" OK?!? AND?! i want to see his character getting more complex idc if he kills kaido or big mom or gol d roger himself.

Just think about the fact that we have seen him cry ONE time during the whole series (not including when he was a kid). That cannot be all the character development he's getting i wont accept it.

There's way too much shit about zoro that makes no sense and has never been explained, now I'm not asking to get an answer for everything, but so far we've not only not answered any questions, we just keep getting more.

And i don't think that wanting to see my favorite character getting some character building moments is too much to ask. Anyway i just wanted to ramble if u read this and u wanna talk about it my inbox/askbox is open
