I was wondering if I could maybe get some kintype tips? I don’t really care what kind of tips they are but my kintypes are Opossum and Raccoon <3

Hi! Sorry it took a bit, but here are some tips! I did mainly raccoon or both because one of my mates is a raccoon therian and I got lots of ideas from them :3

Raccoon --

Do vocals! Raccoons make lots of chittering noises and squeaks.

Hang out in forests near ponds or lakes if possible

Raccoons are omnivores, so that eat anything, so eat a variety of nuts, fruits, and meat

Both --

Watch videos meant for animals! A bird in forest video meant for cats, things like that! My mate had her only shift as of yet when watching one so, worth a shot!

Climb trees

Get gear

Watch documentaries! Watching your theriotype wether it be on a screen or at your local zoo, or even in your backyard, is very euphoric for me.

Visit parks, forests, zoos, wildlife reserves, and things like that where it is similar to your theriotypes environment, and you might just see a raccoon! Or an Opossum!

Opossum --

Also omnivores, eat nuts, berries and meat

Stay up late at night to simulate being nocturnal

Practice hissing vocals

Practice playing dead

It's funny which instincts will take precedent over others in which scenarios. When my brain feels threatened by something it can't see, it goes marsupial: I instinctively open my mouth very wide and hold it open. Pain, especially that not caused by external objects, or shame, guilt, embarrassment; threats a wild opossum doesn't have to face, but in me a filtered through an opossum mind. When I'm startled by something though, like a loud noise or a sudden movement, which is less common thanks to also having that "big apex predator" mindset, I default to bird and "fly away" the way my human body is capable of, running.
