i wonder what kinda show tua would've been if they kept 'original' s1 vibe and writing team. t h o u g h t s?

this has been in my asks for months and every time I go to answer it I just go on a rant about s1 about how much I love s1 (which is a post for another day) so I'm just gonna wing it and try not to mention s1 too much

I really think we would have had more time to develop how the siblings interacted with each other (I think Viktor and Allison's fallout might have come in s2, that Klaus and Ben's bond would start to show the cracks, maybe Five showing signs of distrusting Viktor after the apocalypse and worrying about that path, that Luther and Diego would learn to work with each other, maybe *probably unrealistically* having Allison and Five share scenes and work together, and that would all culminate into s3 where we get the s2/s3 bonds but with the payoff), plotlines that gave each sibling payoff in the finale (every sibling in s1 had a part to play in the apocalypse whereas in s2 Luther and Klaus virtually have no role to play, and I'm not even going to touch on the amnesia plot - yes it's a part of the comics but I don't have to like it)

For general atmopshere, I get why s2 was a lot brighter - it made sense for the setting it was in and I don't have a problem with that (but the yellow/green filter is my mortal gifmaker enemy) but there was a definite switch somewhere in how the show felt wherein the s1 the atmosphere added to the show and the characters giving us more of an indight into their world, s2 is Dallas and that's fine, that's what it meant to be - but Dallas felt almost separate to the characters

With s3, the academy is back but outside the gym and Sloane's room we don't get much of a feel into how different it is, add to it the lack of exploration into most of the Sparrows (especially the more interesting powers and dynamics *cough* Jayme and Alphonso *cough*) and it doesn't really click.

I understand that filming during a pandemic they likely drastically reduced characters roles and made changes to storylines which couldn't be helped - and actor availability is also another thing - but I still wish we'd gotten more of an insight into the Sparrows (maybe even more flashbacks) and their dynamics within their team (there's things we're told - like Ben was Number 1 once - which is interesting!! but never see)

Anyway I'm ranting, I do love s3, a d I've grown to like s2, but s1 is just unmatched

I can't even express in words how much I love this book. It's so good. And so cute. And very funny.

Florence Day is a ghostwriter for romance author Ann Nichols. And she believes love is dead. All because of her stupid and incredibly rude ex, Lee Marlow.

When she goes to see her new editor, Benji Andor, she asks for an extension. And he says no.

Then the unthinkable happens: her dad passes, leaving her no other choice but to fly home for the funeral. And on the doorstep of her family's funeral home later that night is none other than Ben Andor. Or rather, his ghost.

This book has humor, heartbreak, and so many indightful lessons on love and life. And it made me cry, which doesn't happen often.

You should read this book.

I also now have unrealistic expectations because I think Ben Andor stole my heart. Thanks, Ashley Poston 😂🥲

not me frantically cartwheeling out of every conversation wherein my writing career has come up, leading inevitably to the discussion of my book, which I do not have an elevator pitch for, despite the fact that I’ve been writing it on and off for just under five years now, which awkwardly limits the line of questions to, ‘well, what genre is it’ leaving me to defend my science fiction but it’s present day and also it’s science in the same way that x-men is science, meaning I’m just abusing the magic system I’ve named science, there are no rules here but the ones I break, and no, I’m not having a cardiac event under the strain of having my life’s work lightly examined, I’m this much a mess for all of the girls.

it may not be healthy under this much denial, but these blankets sure are comfy, and these paper walls are nice decorations, if terribly inefficient at holding off the incoming meteor shower.

i hope we get more on five as a character emotionally. His family now at least has a bit of indight now on what its like to be in a place you dont belong. But five went through it alone every sibling had friends or partners they were able to connect five never has. Being a murder wouldnt really make it so he doesnt fit in with his family they have all killed. So why would he believe he doesnt belong anywhere? is it because he jumped when he was 13 and missed oit on growing and bonding with the rest of them. All of them got to grieve and move on from fives disappearance keeping in contact. Growing as people for better or worse and heres five who is essentially the same. He grew up alone only knowing his siblings through pages in a book.

Почти дочитала Благие знамения, посмотрела первую серию сериала по этой книге и наконец поняла что было в начале, а то книга написана не очень понятно

Сделала разворот на следующую неделю

Почитала Список Шиндлера, все больше убеждаюсь, что это особенная книга, я думаю из за того что я никогда не читала книги о временах войны, тем более со стороны немцев

Помедетировала с помощью медитации из приложения indight timer - внутренняя свобода. медитация внутреннего пространства

Вырубилась после медитации на полчаса, словно очистилось сознание и проснулась

Сделала практическое задание 4 по информатике

Having worked both, that Office vs Retail Work comic really pisses me off.

1) there are unique struggles to both positions, with their own specialized power struggles and politics and at the end of the day? You're still bound to the system of capitalism, the only difference is whether is a more physically or mentally taxing scenario and the single bone of USUALLY a higher payscale and insurance. That's literally the only upside. You still deal with the same entitled assholes, just in a different environment.

2) on top of all that, the comic's example of office work life is the white cishet male default. The experience of being a woman in the same situation is vastly different, especially if its like where I work (construction office) and its typically a boy's club and you're forever relegated to Admin Status and all the lovely assumptions and total lack of upward mobility that comes with it. I cant even BEGIN to imagine what an openly trans/nonbinary person or a person of color faces in the same scenario

This shit is exhausting. Its beaten me down just as much as retail work did, and the ONLY reason I stick with it is that pay raise, because i cant afford to go back to my old payscale with my debt. In fact, I put myself through more shit that I shouldnt have to just to scrabble at those crumbs and keep it. And then I turn around and have to deal with people who havent worked an office job rolling their eyes at my "cushy" job and how I shouldnt be complaining because retail has it worse.
