Nyaa's Stage Name

For the longest time, I assumed Nyaa's stage name was literally "Nyaa-chan" (what Choromatsu calls her). BUT I WAS WRONG.

In s1e02, Nyaa's concert stand is labeled "Hashimoto Nyaa Concert.". Not "Nyaa-chan" or any other derivative.

Nyaa's fan merchandise is labeled similarly. Her photobook (which was briefly shown) is simply titled with her first name, Nyaa.

This means "Nyaa-chan" is just a nickname Choromatsu uses when referring to Nyaa's idol self. "Nyaa-chan" is not her actual stage name.

Nyaa's social media handles also don't use "Nyaa-chan" or anything similar to that.

Her Instagramatsu and Matwitter accounts use the handle "nyannyanya_28". I don't think there's an instance where Nyaa refers to herself with the "-chan" honorific either.

The skit titles refer to Nyaa in her first name too.

TL;DR "Nyaa-chan" is just a nickname Choromatsu uses for Nyaa and it is not her actual stage name. On all of Nyaa's socials and merchandise, she refers to herself as either "Nyaa" or "Hashimoto Nyaa" only.

i think he’d be slightly intimidated. ‘course he’ll do his usual ‘sweet romancing’ karamatsu thing to woo you, but other than that, he’d be all nervous. i mean not as nervous as choromatsu, but…nervous.

when you two get together though, those nerves definitely subside and go away! he loves you with every fiber of his being! he definitely tries to make a good impression around your many friends and of course, they all approve! at first it was questionable but his antics and romantic gestures showed them that he means well!

one thing i think he ADORES though, are your outfits.

I've really enjoyed reading your tags!! I haven't really thought about karabita much in the past few years, so it was nice to kind of have a walk down memory lane. I found myself reading back through some of my old work as you were reblogging it, and it was really nostalgic.

I didn't actually realize how much karabita I wrote! I've just been going off my AO3 stats for years. But I had a tendency to put stuff on tumblr back then and I didn't always crosspost to AO3, apparently. Then again, there's also a lot of karabita that I put on AO3 and never put on tumblr. So it was wild to realize that, in addition to the 50+ karabita fics I posted to AO3, I apparently also had this whole mess of ficlets that were tumblr-only. I didn't remember writing most of them at all until I saw you reblogging them. lmao

Anyway... thank you very much! I'm really very genuinely glad you liked them. I didn't realize anyone was still reading those. I haven't seen most of s2 or any of s3 (I bounced off of s2 pretty hard) so I wasn't sure if that was still a ship that anyone cared about. It's nice to know people still care after all these years.

I also laughed a lot when I saw from your tags that my Osomatsu-san/Muppets crossover was the first Muppets fic you ever read, but I was glad you enjoyed it! I was even more well-known for Muppets than Osomatsu-san for a while there, which is why I assume someone asked for that. It really made me laugh when I realized that I'd accidentally reeled someone into Muppets from karabita; the two are just such wildly different fandoms. (Though... in other ways very similar...)

I'm not in karabita fandom anymore, but I'll admit that it was a really fun part of my life. I really enjoyed all of the unhinged stuff I wrote, and I really loved how collaborative the fandom was. I didn't remember until I saw your notes how many ficlets I wrote based on requests back then, or how much fanart was made of those fics.

The au is basically Osomatsu is divorced and has a crush in Erina and Todoma, wifeguy extreme lost his late wife in childbirth. Anyways the whole point of it is being old being in love. Ok so this is going to be another analyze about Osomatsu (because yes and because I have it in mind and I need to write it down before I forget)

I'll talk about Osomatsu's relationship with crying and sad moments in general, long post after cut

(Oh and- at some point I got lost so none of this probably makes sense- read at your own risk)

I think by this point everyone knows that Osomatsu is a somewhat a complicated person- and if you can please try to remember a time when you saw him crying... hard right? I know-

Off the top of my head I remember three times he cried (maybe I'll remember more later), two of those times were with a comedy proposal so they won't count here, and the last one was a time when he was really sad (was panicked better saying-)

So I have a vision of Osomatsu that I'd like to share (even though I'm not sure if it's 100% right) ok so- He never cries, it's hard to find a moment where he cries for whatever reason, and like- not like Jyushi, Jyushimatsu also has few crying moments, but that's because he is almost never shown being sad, but when these sad moments occur he allow himself to be sad and cry, and I know that there are people who are simply less cry than others and I strongly believe that Osomatsu and Jyushimatsu are two of those cases, but still, they remain human and still cry, but Osomatsu seems to refuse to do that sometimes-

I'll take as an example a situation where he appeared (or in this case really) to be sad which is ep 24 S1. We know that whole situation shook Oso, and as a gift they didn't show his face almost once, he has his back turned the whole time making it difficult to see his full face, only from the nose down was visible and since eyes are a very expressive part of our body we ended up missing a lot of his real emotions, but I'm sure he didn't cried there (he doesn't cry normally, in front of others so it's a complete no for him) but what about when he was off screen? I'm sure he shed a few tears at those times, or worse- had a panic attack (as he's shown himself to be prone to having them), the point is- he looks like he doesn't want to cry, he seems to have a little trouble expressing that kind of emotion and crying must be something he represses.

Osomatsu is the type of person who will laugh at a bad situation and make fun of his problems, but deep down he is agonizing over them. He doesn't want to cry. But why? Perhaps to be an example of a strong older brother? Or because it doesn't suit his character? Oso has already shown that he has problems with his identity, and if he tries so hard to remain in the comfort zone and with the personality he always had, crying is not something that suits the little troublemaker, the older brother, the leader. Not being ok is a horrible situation for him, he doesn't want to feel bad and doesn't know how to react to this type of situation, so he just "stops working" and stands there with its blank face, he won't cry even if sometimes he wants to.

Crying is good and it's a way to let out everything you've been holding back, and Osomatsu has been holding back a lot over these three seasons (+ the movie), after he had a panic attack at the beginning of S3 I think it's an indication that something is not right (I assume crying in a panic attack is normal, so yeah-) I don't think there's a confirmed reason why this happened to him but we can speculate on some things (which I won't do in this post), but anyway he needs help ASAP
