Quite the walk with a little friend of mine!

While out doing my snow spotting rounds, I see the cutest most peculiar looking owl, and one might just say, “well Mai, aren’t all owls a little odd looking? Slightly strange and weird and unusual?” And yes, yes I’d answer of course! But this one had such a look in his deep brown eyes that I could never forget! And so, with much shyness on my end, I walk up to him and bid him hello! And immediately after, thanks to my bumbling clumsiness, apologise for kicking a bit of snow square on his feet. He of course, forgives me, and tells me his name, and what a lovely one it was!

“My name is Venidict Owlo,” he hoots. “And I come from very far!”

I assumed he meant all the way from Tartu, he looked like such a scholar. But upon my assumption, he shakes his head. “I come from a land unheard of!”

Oh what ever could it be! I thought, maybe some magical land you can only get to by riding on his back! So I assume some more, and some more, till he stops me with one wing and hoots: “Idaho!”

He showed me around, and we had some fun jumping in the huge blankets of snow. I’m so thankful for this lovely snowy wonderful winter!! And through gritted teeth, I’ll be even more appreciative for the warm spring rays and the hot summers at the lake. What this winter has taught me thoroughly is how wonderful every single season is. If you would’ve asked me what my favorite was? I would’ve said “autumn of course!” But now I can’t possibly choose.

This deliberate way of collaging is new to me. Normally I’m suddenly struck by inspiration and a journal page will come out of it, often with contentment at the end. I’m thrilled with this new way of creating; I don’t have to seek out inspiration or wait for it to strike, I have a set of guidelines and I intentionally, and most of all frequently, create collages.

Though this collage did’nt turn out as I had expected either... I believe I expect to have a certain style, but something entirely different appear on the paper 😄 Anyways, I’m very pleased to have had time to collage this weekend, although that meant neglecting social life. But it definitely was worth it and I have had plenty of time to rest.

And here’s Vintage Gluebook Page number 4:

- an art scrap (the grey part at the bottom)

- an old post-it note (I really did’nt have any and decided to make one)
