STUDIO CITY, CA – May 22, 2023 – Cash’s (Beau Mirchoff, “Good Trouble”) day to compete at Cheyenne has arrived, only first he must get out of jail in “Andalusians,” this week’s episode of “Ride” premiering Sunday, May 28 (9 p.m. ET/PT), on Hallmark Channel. Nancy Travis (“Last Man Standing”), Tiera Skovbye (“Riverdale”), Mirchoff, Sara Garcia (“The Flash”), Jake Foy (“Designated Survivor”) and Tyler Jacob Moore (“Shameless”) star.
It's the morning of Cheyenne! Winning the competition could lead to Cash securing the Frontier sponsorship and finally solving the ranch’s growing financial problems. Unfortunately, an altercation with Tucker Clarke (Roger LeBlanc, “Joe Pickett”) has landed Cash in jail. Still reeling from the secrets surrounding the night of Austin’s death and his own guilt, Cash is eager to get out of his cell and into the ring – renewing Isabel (Travis) and Missy’s (Skovbye) fears of history repeating itself. It’s a race against time to save the ranch until one of the McMurrays receives shocking news that could tear the family apart for good.
“Ride” is a Blink49 Studios/Seven24 Films Production. Executive producers are Rebecca Boss, Chris Masi, Sherri Cooper, Alexandra Zarowny, Paolo Barzman, Greg Gugliotta, FJ Denny, John Morayniss, Carolyn Newman, Virginia Rankin, Elana Barry, Josh Adler, Jordy Randall and Tom Cox. Sorry I just wanted to clarify, I wasn't trying to contradict what you were saying maybe Jason didn't shadow but Kevin, Jesse and Giacomo all did while Ellen probably just used her EP power to get to direct. What I was trying to say is that Danielle and Stefania got asked many times if they would direct, and after a while the same question kind of gets annoying to answer especially since they have no control of if they will or won't. I know Danielle will be directing this season but maybe Stefania isn't ready yet and so they said you needed to direct a short that went through the festival circuit. Also directing TV is very different than directing a short film and Stefania's film was personal to her. I just think that if this so called "policy" seems like a weird shift considering they give everyone the chance to direct, it might not be a legit policy and just something Danielle said to make the fans happy, get them excited for the season (considering the shit way Maya and Carina were treated in the 2nd half of the season) and something to keep them interested until the end of the season. Jason is an opening act, Danielle is the headliner.
And not that WE is the same but Kat who has directed shorts used to get asked all the time if she would direct the show and she would always say different reasons why it wasn't happening (not blaming the show) and one time she said it was because she was scared to take it on even though she knew the crew wouldn't let her fail. Additionally Mel never directed, she just shadowed Paolo Barzman a few times and she got to direct.
I think it might even be personality over "talent" Jason asked for it and got it, maybe Stefania hasn't thrown her hat into the ring. It happens a lot with men and women. There is something that says men will apply for a job they are less than 60% qualified for while women won't apply for a job unless they meet 100% the criteria. It's a sad reality but here we are.
Again I'm not trying to discount your opinion on this, but I'm just looking at it from other angles rather than just Jason got the gig cause he's a man.
No you're totally fine, don't worry! I totally get where you're coming from, I just also wanted to explain how I saw it too and all we can really base it on is the things we know and I'm sure there's a lot we don't know and you're right, it could be that they are just trying to come up with ways to answer the question that they continue to get asked multiple times. I could definitely see Jason being the one to initiate that conversation and asking to get the opportunity while I don't necessarily think Stefania would, but it does seem like she's passionate about directing as well so who knows. And you're right about the men vs woman thing, it's a sad reality but how things go and I do think it's something that was a factor and that's what's frustrating. But again there's probably a lot we don't know, whether it be a policy or other reasoning for why some are directing more and before others and we may never find out the reasons why, so that's why the optics aren't great but I'm sure it's more complex than we realize too!

TTVJ: A huge moment for the show, that was also important to so many fans, was the WayHaught love scene in Episode 402. Emily has said that was a full team collaboration between you, Dom, Kat, and herself. Can you just share a little about your thoughts on that scene?
PB: We all knew we couldn’t just go into the scene and do it. So we sat down — Emily, Dom, Kat, and myself — and really discussed many, many things. We discussed what it meant, but also for them as actors. We went way back into the birth of them, as actresses, doing WayHaught. After we had that quite long discussion — that was very honest, candid, and wonderful for everyone — we decided how we’d shoot it.
I had this idea of fragmenting it so that we wouldn’t have to see all the continuity of all the moves, but just fragments of moments all broken up. Everyone agreed to that, and then we really spoke practically of where people would be. On the floor? Against the wall? They were so wonderful because we really spoke in all honesty like, ‘In this position, we cannot see things of the body,’ and ‘In this position, this is where I think the camera will be.’ They were so easy in their approach of it.
We shot that scene extremely fast because we had discussed it before so much and were at ease. We had everybody out besides the camera operator, the boom guy, and them so that they’d feel at ease. But more than anything, it had to do with the generosity of these two girls and the simplicity.
For a male director, directing two girls making love, I didn’t want to do it in a way where I’d be the archetype of the schmuck guy. But Dom was very generous also in making it easier. It was really interesting, and honestly, for me, it was a really interesting experience in learning of each other and how we can function in honesty, respect, and still be creative. It was a very intense moment that I will never forget, and maybe more than anything, just the four of us sitting in the conference room talking. The heart of it was when we discussed and conceived it.

Returning to her hometown of Purgatory for her uncle Curtis's funeral, Wynonna Earp — descendent of Wyatt Earp himself— runs into a little trouble on the coach bus. One of the passengers has left to go relieve herself in the woods, and falls prey to a ferocious and invisible demon, known as a Revenant, that can take on human form — a.k.a ugly. Wynonna goes to find the endangered passenger, but only succeeds in locating her decapitated head, and the demon that severed it. Wynonna thwarts the Revenant with some agile fighting skills before notifying the police and walking the rest of the way into town. Home sweet home.
