quintessence ghouls are, quite literally, spiritual beings. down in the Pit, they have no bodies to reside in. they simply exist throughout the space, rogue Magick running loose. they still have personalities, using their Magick however they please. some like to mess with those who are especially assholes down there. some are assholes themselves, attaching themselves to am unsuspecting victim for their chaos.

Summoning a quint is different. because they're not summoning an already defined body, they have to make one from scratch. all the Emeritus brothers like the look of Greek and Roman Gods, so they always use them as a basis. Omega and Aether were wholey based on the deities, large and muscular, strong noses and fierce eyes.

Copia, though? he wanted his first creation to be special. he didn't want his first creation to be of something else, he wanted them to be a brand new thing. so he made Phantom, a long and lanky ghoul with soft features and kind eyes, dimples when he smiles. when he was summoned finally, the room was left speechless.

there must've been an error in Copia's calucations tho, or maybe a summoning ingredient had gone bad, or maybe it simply was Phantom, but he came with a scar throughout his face, some of his hair left bone white. Copia could only feel love and pride, though. he, in his eyes, was near perfection in all of his imperfections.

And because quint ghouls have vessels for the first time ever, they are literally learning to be people from scratch. a few things come by second nature; breathing, blinking, moving and walking. staying alive. they have to learn everything else, though. to speak, to eat, to sleep. they will always have their pack to help, though.

Papa Splinter's Pups

On the Turtle Tot's first Halloween, Splinter didn't want to take them trick or treating for fear of being found out. The citizens of New York would panic at humanoid turtle babies, and word could get out to Big Mama. His worst fear was getting kidnapped again, and his children would be without a father, or Big Mama would train them to be entertainment for the Battle Nexus. It had only been a few weeks since they found the sewers and made it their home. Splinter dragged a mattress from the dump and raided a dumpster behind a crafting store for blankets, one being rolled up into an impromptu pillow, and that was their shared bed.

Halloween was chilly around this time of year, and Splinter gathered his tiny children in a backpack to go find more suitable clothing for them. Digging through a dumpster might have been low, considering that he used to be famous, but he was a father in hiding, now, so he dug.

Something moved and he jumped in surprise. A rat bared its teeth at him before scurrying away. Splinter rolled his eyes and kept digging. The store that owned this dumpster was a Halloween store and Halloween was in 2 days, and they were already tossing rejected costumes away.

His hand brushed against something soft, so he grabbed it. Up came a bundle of grey cloth. Splinter unrolled one of them and saw what it was.

A baby rat costume!

He chuckled as he unrolled the rest of the bundle and found 4 more. He kicked himself at the irony, but they were super soft and relatively clean. He only needed four for his four children, so he left one of them, where he saw the rat from earlier grab it with her teeth and drag it to the other side of the dumpster. Splinter watched in curiousity. When he saw the 8 or so tiny pink pups all curled up, he knew why. This rat was a mother, trying to keep her babies warm, just like how Splinter was trying to keep his kids warm.

Splinter smiled, taking the costumes with him to the sewer grate he always entered and exited his home.

After a good wash and hanging them out to dry for a whole day, Splinter maneuvered tiny limbs through arm holes before admiring his work. These costumes were made for babies, and they probably were rejected because they didn't have legs, just buttons on the bottom to make diaper changes easier. No matter, this boys thought they were comfortable.

Even Purple began to yawn.

Allowing his rat instincts to kick in, probably from seeing the Mama Rat, Splinter curled up around his children, allowing them to snuggle their dad for warmth. He watched as each kid fell asleep and he watched over them.

He knew rats could be very territorial, especially when it comes to their young. That mother rat wasn't trying to be vicious on purpose; she had babies to take care of. And Splinter may not be the world famous Lou Jitsu anymore, but now he had a new job. A better job. None of that fame matters now. What really mattered, in this moment, was that his sons were safe, and warm, and well taken care of.

So he continued to watch them sleep, and with their costumes making them look like adorable little baby rats, he melted.

A bunch of Mario Family headcanons:

Because I think a very normal amount about the larger Mario family and very very very much want The Super Mario Brothers Super Show Reboot all about them

G-Poppy and his wife moved to American from Italy in their 20′s, making Mario and Luigi third generation immigrants

G-Poppy’s dream was to own and run an authentic Italian a Restaurant in America, but after the birth of his oldest son, Pio, the need for quick cash to pay rent was more pressing, thus why he got into Boxing

Papa Mario’s full name is Pio Mario Jr, he’s named after G-Poppy

Pio is a good 5-6 years older than his younger brothers, Arthur and Tony, who are only a year apart at most

Sense bills were tight, Pio spent a lot of his childhood being another income to the house hold, working hard labor work like construction to keep the family afloat while his brothers were young

Eventually G-Poppy got too old for wrestling and finally realized his dream of opening a Restaurant; Punch-Out Pizza. This put the family in more financial struggle, forcing Pio to take up more work while Arthur and Tony helped in the Restaurant

Now that G-Poppy is retired Arthur and Tony run the business together. Arthur’s the finance guy, where Tony runs deliveries and hands on manages other employees

It was actually their Grandmother who made Mario and Luigi’s caps for them, she’s also made G-Poppy’s. She passed before Louisiana was born, thus why she couldn’t make her a cap as well

Tony’s a huge horror movie buff, he loves old classics and has a huge VHS collection. Part of the reason Luigi is so scared of the paranormal is from catching glimpses or watching whole movies with Uncle Tony growing up

Another big part of Luigi’s fear though may just come from Uncle Tony loving to scare him. A big pass time for Tony was waiting around corners in Halloween masks to jump scare Luigi, or telling him ghost stories any change he got

Mario also got a bad fear from Uncle Tony’s movies; Pianos. He’d just happened to catch a pretty nasty scene of the lid of a Grand Piano crushing someone when he was younger and it stuck with him pretty hard

Louisiana is about 11-12 years younger than Mario and Luigi, so despite being cousins the three have a hard time relating to one another from the large age gap

Louisiana prefers to go by Louise, though only Mario and Luigi call her that. She was also the first one in the family to use the “Lou” nickname for Luigi, which Mario quickly also picked up

Arthur loves baseball, the Mets especially, but really he’ll watch any team play. He regrets not being on his school’s baseball team when he was younger, due to having to help at the restaurant, thus why he signed his daughter Louisiana up as soon as she was old enough. She’s stuck with it to keep her dad happy

Mia makes 90% of the meals in the Mario household, with the occasional help from Arthur. She learned most her dishes from her own mom, and a good deal more from Pio’s mother after marrying into the family

Marie is absolute rubbish in the kitchen. Mia’s given her multiple lessons and had her help with dinner many times around when she was expecting Louisiana, but she rarely made anything edible. The only one who ate her meals was Arthur, who just wanted to support his wife with all he had, even if it made him ill (which it did. Many times. Tony made fun of him for it)

Tony loves to work on machinery, mostly motorcycles, and has bounced around working part time as a mechanic here and there before his duties at the restaurant drag him back

Pio, Tony, and Mario are the only ones in the Mario family with a drivers license, though Tony was the only one who drove regularly until Mario bought the van

The Mario family owns 4 gaming devices; The Brother’s NES that they bought with their saved up chore money in Middle School, a Wii Marie and Mia do Wii Fit on in the living room, Uncle Tony’s PS2 that’s mostly collecting dust, and the Home Computer that Louise plays Roblox and Minecraft on

The Mario family apartment has 3 bedrooms; Pio and Mia’s, Arthur Marie and Louise’s, and Mario and Luigi’s. G-Poppy sleeps on a chair in the living room, and Tony sleeps on the couch

Louise has already called dibs on Mario and Luigi’s room when they move out, Tony says he prefers the couch anyway so he doesn’t mind

Pio pushes a lot of his own raising onto Mario, as the oldest he thinks Mario should be responsible, a support for the family, not chasing his own crazy dream that could crash down onto them into debt

On the flip side, Arthur puts a lot of what he wanted for himself onto Louisiana, pushing her to do new things and plays sports and do after school activities like he never got to do having to work in the Restaurant growing up

Tony’s the only one he sees this happening, and thus has stayed the fun uncle who’ll get you out of that thing you don’t want to do if asked. He’s listened to a lot of vents from the kids as he drives them from one activity to the next, and tries to remind them their parents are doing their best, and love them a lot. For everyone but Luigi that reminder fell on deaf ears

Ooh mashups, this is my first one<3

I’m would consider myself introverted but can and will stand up for myself. An extreme homebody, I hate crowded and noisy places. The only exception is concerts or art markets! I’m absolutely obsessed with music, I hate loud places but I can not stand silence. There’s always music playing or background noise.

I take care of local stray cats, I even built them little apartments outside so they have a sheltered place from the weather. Also love bird watching, now that it’s summer more ‘exotic’ birds are coming over. I’m not really artistic in the sense of drawing but I love creating digital design like posters and magazines.

He's not one for busy crowded places either. Still, he also loves concerts and he'll go to art markets with you.

He's happy that you always have music on, he enjoys hearing what you listen to. He feels that music is a good way to get to know someone. He's the same, he doesn’t like silence, though for him a game in the background is enough.

He takes care of stray rats! So he's more than happy to support you in taking care of stray cats. Just be careful to keep the rats and cats apart, they mostly don't get on.

That being said there are a few exceptions, one particular cat has taken to looking after the smaller more vulnerable rats.

When he sees you bird watching he'll often join you. He'll sit down next to you passing you your favourite drink then wraps an arm around your shoulders holding you close to him.

He buys you some new binoculars to see the birds through.

He got very excited when he saw your poster designs and asked you to do one for his upcoming gig.

He was so happy and proud when he saw you stand up for yourself. He can only really stand up for himself in the role of Papa but as Copia he's trying to learn to.

He was inspired by you and he started to stand up for himself more even when it came to Nihil.

He loves nothing more than a day at home with you, nice and comfortably snuggled up on the sofa.

I think its actually hilarious that the general consensus on Swiss' summoning being an accident. they only meant to summon a water ghoul and an air ghoul, and out comes Swiss. and Copia is just "you know what, sure we'll keep him cause he's silly." that shit? fucking hilarious

whilst it wasn’t often that the once famous movie star was found anywhere apart from sitting in chair,  times had changed since then.   threats had been increasing throughout the city,  more and more with each passing day.    and with what happened recently   ...   yoshi wasn’t taking any chances.   he’d neglected his own responsibilities for so long,  pushing them onto his children.   but now that he’d seen the consequences of those actions ?   he’d never allow harm to come to them again.

so when the news of a small gang of crooks was in the city causing mischief,  despite the four brothers heading off on their own,  and knowing that they were more than capable of dealing with them,  he still tagged along.   could you truly blame a father for his anxiety after everything ?

watching the way they wiped the floor with the criminals made him proud,  but as he saw one approaching leonardo from behind,  instinct took over and yoshi came flying out of his hiding place,  promptly sending his foot into their face and into the trash cans nearby.

1. Would you say you're more likely to be a Sibling of Sin or a Ghoul? Why?

I would say I’m a Sibling of Sin, I’m usually in a leader position at work and sometimes I just want to be told what to do and follow instructions.

2. Which Papa would you prefer to work with? Why? (Sister Imperator is included)

I dont have a papa in mind but i do love working in the library. I use to volunteer at the city library and love the peaceful environment. It was extremely therapeutic for me just organizing and stocking books.

3. Are you an introvert, ambivert or an extrovert? Tell us a bit more about it.

Introverted, homebody to the heart. I absolutely hate going out, if I do it’s usually on a weekday where there’s not that much people’s out and about. I’m also super reserved, I like to keep my “home” to myself. Even my closest friend only been to my house maybe three times and I’ve known her for 8 years now

4. What chore do you like the most/hate the least?

I haaaate cleaning up but I love to organize things.

5. Do you like to travel, or maybe you prefer to stay at home?

Stay at home for sure, however I do like to travel once a year. It’s usually going to science/art museum in a different city. If there’s a botanical garden I’ll only visit if it’s not too hot. My travels tend to be in the fall and winter times.

6. Freebie. You've got five sentences to tell us anything you want about you.

I loooove music, i always have it playing when I can. Along side loving music, I despise silence. I usually have something playing in the background like white noise or rain sounds. I take care of three stray cat, and I also love to watch birds and squirrels in my backyard.

The role in ministry event ended on July 20th

Your role in the Ministry is...Curator for the clergies Museum under Papa Emeritus I

Yes they really do have a museum, it includes things like the robes of previous Papas, ancient and more modern paintings by those in the clergy, ancient artefacts and loads of other weird and cool stuff.

You organise and design exhibitions.

You also keep a record of what’s there and you research and find new stuff to add.

Your work is mainly behind the scenes and it’s a very calm environment rather like a library.

You can play your music while you work.

Your travel once a year and still take in the museums. It helps with you bringing ideas back to the ministry.

You work for Primo but he is much happier tending his garden so once he knows you are settled in the role he lets you run it how you want. He does give the odd instruction when needed, he decides when all the exhibitions are and so on.

He is always around if you need advice or anything. He’ll make some tea and sit down and talk with you whenever you want.

He’s very supportive of you (in general not just for work) and encourages you to develop in your role.
