Alex with his PRS SE Alex Lifeson Thinline acoustic.  A beautiful guitar with a great sound for what Alex wanted when it was designed.

My 1993 PRS CE 24 is back at home after undergoing a pro setup, sounding better then ever. Would you like to know more?
The CE model is a bit unique since it was introduced in 1988 as a more affordable choice in PRS's lineup, but sports mostly everything that their "core" guitars have (made in their main USA factory with all the premium hardware). The notable exceptions are mine has an alder body (instead of the standard mahagony) and all CEs have a bolt-on neck instead of set neck. Both of these changes theoretically give it more "snap" than warmth, so it's a little more Fender-y in sound than Gibson-y.
These models were discontinued in 2009 since they weren't profitable enough vs their core line. They were brought back in 2016, with some hardware changes that are less core (I believe the bridge is now made overseas), plus mahogany body only. Meaning that mine is a still a unique beast!
It's also worth noting that Rush's Alex Lifeson had the same model and finish (the only differences I can see from it being made two years earlier are a toggle pickup selector instead of a 5-way dial, and black pickup covers instead of creme), which sold two years ago for $112,500.

I don't see Siyeon's name on the PRS artist list, but if they ever give her a signature model, I'll be first in line to buy one! (Assuming I've learned to play guitar by that time---which is unlikely, considering I've been trying to teach myself for years with no luck.)
