Please, Use Your Brain...

It's honestly surprising to me how many people still show anger and hatred towards people who don't support Pewdiepie anymore.

So, a grown man goes onto the internet to interact with his MASSIVE fanbase, which in turn has way more significant of an impact, and in the most literal sense uses a SLUR as a genuine INSULT towards someone. While face-to-face with people who have looked up to him for years, supported him, given thousands of hours towards to support, just for him to completely disregard an entire COMMUNITY with one moronic action.

His literal first response to anger and frustration in that moment was to use a slur. Not a fucking little insignificant curse word, a slur connected to GENERATIONS of injustice and genocide, related to something that has so much more of a serious impact than he could even imagine. Than he could even understand, along with the majority of people with their mouths wide open accepting an apology not even DIRECTED TOWARDS THEM. As if your word, as someone who is white on MOST occasions, is SOMEHOW above the word of people who are the only ones capable of truly understanding the impact of his words and actions. People who have RELATIVES who have TRAUMA from racism, because IT ISN'T AN OLD STORY, IT'S REAL AND STILL RELEVANT.

For the love of everything, don't go around using BLM as a way to further your point supporting a man who literally disregarded the lives of THOUSANDS of Black fans who looked up to him. Responsibility is important when you are a GROWN ADULT making that large of an impact to that many people. Especially if it's on a platform like YouTube, where people literally WATCH you grow in front of them, with them, regularly and directly, in a way that is so much more on a intimate level and that has such a large impact. And that impact is even bigger WHEN YOUR FANS ARE QUITE LITERALLY 9 YEAR OLDS.

The way that people disregard the impact of this man's actions in favor of comfort without change is genuinely disturbing.

The most cancel culture has done to this man is increase backlash, which literally comes with being a massive figure on the internet. Not to mention that, idk, maybe if you have that many fans THE BACKLASH MIGHT EQUATE TO THAT. It's almost like the more people you have watching you, the more people you impact and hurt when you do ignorant careless shit! Isn't that lovely?

But at MOST, cancel culture has not changed ANYTHING on this man's stance. He's still one of the biggest people on YouTube, making just as much revenue, having MILLIONS of people STILL supporting him.

I KNOW. Cancel culture was so terrible to him! (His follower count totally isn't still 112 MILLION!!) It must be terrible to have to be held accountable for bad actions as a grown adult responsible for the influence he has as an influencer! How awful it is for people to want a man borderline 40 to log off the internet, go touch grass, and maybe just maybe do that to make up for the absolutely massive and terrible impact he made to thousands of his fans!

Thousands of people who looked up to him and idolized him, just to find out he's like so many others who have UNDOUBTABLY hurt them just as badly in life with those words.

Because while he gets to apologize, forget, "change" and leave that moment behind, countless of his fans cannot! Because they will always associate him with an issue he inserted himself in carelessly, an issue that has CENTURIES of impact no one can understand the true pain of unless they grew up in that community. Which still ACTIVELY is facing that same horrific injustice regularly!

So yes, I think that people are allowed to be angry at someone who did that significant of a mistake at the expense of years of their support and love! Because physical wounds heal, but words don't. And YOU as a "critic" don't get to draw your own conclusions to a situation you can't even fully understand, because that is blatant ignorance! (talking to all his fans who aren't part of the community impacted)

(Also, this post, unlike the ones that support him, is actually reiterating the words of those who have ACTUALLY been impacted!)

You also don't get to draw your own lines when you yourself constantly let others, yourself, and people you favor cross them.

You're angry about the most minor petty impact out of this entire situation, and demean others for being angry.

You hate when people are too intense with their disapproval and honestly can't help but joke about your inhumane "niche opinion" because if they don't they'll only be left to cry, but then support shitty "critique" dry humor streamers and YouTubers who's entire personality surrounds telling people they're cringe and to "kys haha". Don't put on a pretty face if you've never played pretty.

Maybe put the energy you put into supporting this man into actual real life problems, instead of shedding light on them JUST to further your point that literally ends up harming them more than anything. Maybe let this little part of your nostalgia go and actually MATURE, please. Because this is not it. It's not even on the same spectrum. It's ignorant and COMPLETELY dismissive.

Just because he's someone you favorited, doesn't mean he's exempt from being held accountable for shitty things that had way too big of an impact to simply be swept under the rug and left behind. I promise, he's not a 10 year old child that made an honest mistake, he's a grown man that had responsibilities and carelessly fucked them up in the worst way possible.

You're not brave if you still support this man. You're willingly ignorant and dismissive, end of story.

And since people love criticism when it comes to getting a message across, here's some of mine! Freedom of speech is a lovely thing, isn't it? It's such a sight to see when insecure people come to the realization that criticism does in fact work both ways and they're not a special exception!

The people that defend Hassan Piker will never not come off to me as people bent down on their knees in front of him trying to talk with their mouth full. 

And I realize that’s harsh but I’ll put it in plain text.

He has stated that the US deserved 9/11. He only walked this back a little when he realized how fucked up it was for him to say it, and a lot of his audience pushed back. Fuck half of his audience agreed with it. 

He ran a smear campaign against PewDiePie who’s entire schtick is satire and being goofy. He’s also not American so he doesn’t know our cultural norms. And yet, many people including Hasan dragged him across the coals. Also leaned into the Nazi allegations against Pewds.

He is a Champaign Socialist. He gets rich off of preaching socialism and communist, meanwhile getting filthy rich off of the lie he is selling. Even going so far as to buy an expensive ass house and expensive cars. Even travel a lot. Ah yes very socialist of you to use capital gains in an extravagant way white your viewers all just eat up your propaganda. 

He is pro war. He is 100% for the war in Ukraine and actively talks about how we just “Can’t leave them on their own” despite the fact that we (The US) and the UK are the REASON they have not had a cease fire (A neutral country president has gone on record saying he brokered a peace pact between the two countries until the US and UK told Ukraine not to negotiate). We are printing money by the truckload that we don’t have, and sending so much weaponry that we are whittling down our own reserves. And yet Hassan is totally fine with that. (Meanwhile not saying a DAMN THING about the genocide in china against their Muslim Population.) 

He lies, smears, and slanders people often by misrepresenting them on his streams and his viewers eat that shit up. Then go out and actively harass the people he mentions (Which if I was a betting man I'd say he’s more than fine with if you asked him in private.)

He spreads cultural Marxism which we know is tearing this country to shreds and he personally doesn’t care. Mostly because he profits off of it. He also insulates his viewers into believing that any person to the right of Stalin is far right. Which for reference, here is a political spectrum test of WHERE Stalin is. 

Which of course one of the only people further left than him was Mao. So if you think that Authoritarian Communism and Socialism are good, then you CLERARLY have never opened a history book. 

My point is this. I think Hassan is a crappy person. I think he either believes the bullshit he pushed and just lives a cushy life at the top because he thinks he deserves it. Or he’s a grifter who lies and profits off of his lies. 

And it’s funny too. I commented on a video with him in it, that I like the content creator that made the video Hasan was in. Which was the only reason I watched some of it. And like clock work, his C-sucking groupies came in high on copium with what I about expected. Here were the initial comments. 

The next one of course being after I made the above points. Though in far less words.

The of course this when I didn’t take issue with being compared to Peterson at all. 

And of course my response to which he had no come back at all. 

And that’s a huge thing I also take issue with. People have this insane hive mind mentality where if you don’t agree with them 100% culturally, you magically become far right. And mind you, I didn’t insult this person. I did however say my peace about Hassan. And he went right for, as expected, “Sniveling Conservative”. Yeah.....because my left libertarian ass is TOTALLY a conservative. For context on the political spectrum test I am 2 rungs left, and 3 rungs down into libertarian. But for real I’m never going to be a communist. And that ISN’T the criteria for what makes a person left wing. It SHOULDN’T be. And yet here we are. Long story short. Look to my response to that guy. These are they types of people that claim that going to college makes you smarter than everyone else. That the longer you stay the more intelligent you are then everyone else. Peterson, his politics aside, is a man that has been in academia for decades. The man has written papers hand over fist into the 100′s if not 1000′s. Many have been used for years in further research. He even was an instructor at Harvard. According to these types, this man should be the top of the intelligence food chain. However, because his politics are wrong, he’s “clearly stupid”. Which is it you lunatics? Does education make you smart or not? And before you say, “Oh well he is an exception”, he’s not the only person I’ve seen that claim levied against. Robert Malone. A Medal winning Doctor who pioneered MRNA research. Even winning awards. However, after he came out with a very clear cut statement, he was ruthlessly smeared and more or less pushed into a box of, “Covid Vaccine Denier”. However this only because he questioned the amount of work put into the shots. Which mind you, makes sense if you consider the company we were FORCED to take the shot from had been buried in the LARGEST lawsuits in US history for idk, malfeasance, lying about safety protocols, lying about negative affects of medications they made even going so far as hiding them. Yeah no I’d be pretty skeptical too. 

But that’s my point. If you go against the cultural marxists in any way shape or form, you are labeled as a conservative, far right, neo nazi, nazi, trump supporting, blah blah blah blah blah. How about make a valid argument? Or is that too hard to ask. I view people like Hassan as awful human being that take advantage of people. They will lie, cheat and steal. Ok, ok...

I have a lot of feelings about the whole Pewdiepie ADL story, but I feel like if I say anything, Tumblr will personally crucify me. It isn't even the fact that i want to "defend" Pewdiepie, but it's like the whole situation is the straw that broke the camels back.

"Well, if it isn't about him, and you don't want to get into arguments with people online, why say anything at all?"

Because, it annoys me when people don't research anything. When they just get their news from some half assed article that regurgitates the same recycled horse shit for likes and veiws.

The fact that there is no journalistic integrity anymore, and journalists will just sink their teeth into anyone with a pulse and a controversy.

When cancel culture has gotten so out of hand that it's turned into borderline McCarthyism. The fact that no one is allowed to change, or grow, or move on from their past.

When life in general has become so black and white, you're either here or you're there, and either way you loose. When there are actual Nazis allowed to march in the streets, the kkk is still rampent, abortion laws are worse than ever, the police can still do whatever the fuck they want, straight pride is a thing, and all I can see is "What Pewdiepie's controversy is this week," and, "You wont beleive what Dave Chappell said in his latest comedy special."

The fact that things like political correctness, the #me too movement, black lives matter, body positivity, feminism, are all wonderfull things. Things that should be taken seriously, but we all look like fucking jokes, because there is such a thing as being too left leaning.

The fact that everyone is walking on eggshells all the time, just holding our breath, because we've become so concerned about how other people perceive us. Last time I checked, I dictate my morals, not you.

So, what am I trying to say? What the fuck does this all mean? Do I even have a point?

So, apperently Pewdiepie is in the news again. He said in a video that he'd give $50,000 to ADL, as a charity thing for hitting 1 mil subs. This got a lot of backlash, saying he was just doing it to gain sympathy. Saying that it's all a conspiracy and ADL blackmailed him. People saying that ADL is sketchy and he shouldn't have donated to them in the fist place. This then caused him to back out of the donation, saying that he was trying to donate to ADL because he felt somewhat responsible for what happend in New Zealand, since his name was used and everything. He realized that this wasn't honest, doubled with the sketchy things ADL has apperently done. He's going to pick another charity to donate to. That's it. That's the story.

Well that seems simple enough. It's whatever, and I go about my day. I then go on tumblr, youtube, twitter, ect. To see everyone freaking out. People cherry picking things from his comment section, analyzing his clothing, literally finding anything to call him a Nazi, and it's just like. You're all fucking lunatics. Why are you wasting your time with this? In the big scheme of things this means absolutely nothing at all. If you wanna call Pewdiepie out for backing out due to his fans. Fucking go for it, I don't care. If you hate his guts, because of shit he's done in the past. Whatever it's you opinion. The fact that you're over analyzing this story, that is based around conspiracy, literally pulling shit out of thin air, and trying to slander this guy again, is like? That's not ok! It isn't! Going online is so fucking exhausting.

Ok, that was it. That's the rant. For what it's worth I'm not a racist, or an anti-semite. The fact I feel the need to point that out is stupid. I know who I am, regardless of what people might call me in the comments. Hell, people might not even care enough to comment on this post. Last post for tonight I swear but can we talk about how complete assholes from every political corner have made good arguments into shitty excuses?

Like, "I didn't know any better", "I absolutely wasn't trying to be [insert discretion here]!" and "this isn't criticism this is toxic" are all good arguements for people in some cases.

BUT

how many times in just the past five years have you heard your favorite youtuber say "I didn't know any better" when they're asking their audience to ignore them dressing in blackface?

How many times has someone insisted they didn't mean to hurt anyone with their content, while also refusing to ever say they're sorry and lump all their critics under the "hater" label?

How many times has someone complained about "harassment" and "this proof isn't coming from a nonbiased source" when they're being accused of illegal shit and are trying to play into everyone's hate for paparazzi?

All and all it's low on the list of sins committed by said public figures, but still: thanks to Shane Dawson, Onision, Kero the Wolf, Pewdiepie and J.K. Rowling, trying to logically defend yourself against slander is now really hard.

That's probably what he's pissed about. I know I would be- I would rather go to a callback than a wedding. (Then again, I have no interest in any of that and would only be there for the free food and alcohol, ngl) Because why would I throw away a chance to better my life or reach for the stars for some stupid thing that'd probably end in divorce 2 years later? (NOT SLANDERING THOMAS'S FRIENDS- I'M TALKING MY LIFE HERE, NOT HIS, AND JUST GENERALISING WEDDINGS)

He could also be pissed because he drove a ways away (as wedding are usually super far away and why??? Are they??? So far????), and then his friends said "Fuck no you go to that callback u selfless nerd."

So maybe something happens, probably to the sides, causing Thomas to act strangely (or he weighs the callback vs. the wedding in his head and is mad at the sides for urging Thomas to the latter), which would make Thomas say that, and with no filter.

This could also be the introduction to a new side? I mean, he is pretty pissed off...

BUT (and here's my favorite part)

I heard the classic arcade-theme music playing in the background as Roman "sentenced" Thomas to the wedding start up, and as a dude who's learning to make games and plans to do that for a fuckin' living, my ears perked up at that.

But my mind made the game connection when Thomas made the title scene to introduce the sneak peek, because it was in a classic arcade-like font.

I got super excited seeing these, because I know PewDiePie has two games out in a 16-bit style w/ similar text and themed music.

So there's the chance that the Thomas Sanders is getting a game.

It has a pokemon vibe, but also one of One Shot- an explorable world full of adventure.

There's also the obvious Mario references.

And, based of the scene in the middle one, takes place at the wedding.

I would doubt that this is just animation, because that would mean someone drew this pixel by pixel. That's something I highly doubt anyone would have the patience for.

Or- as I think more on it now, since this is really just me typing out notes for others to expand upon- what if Thomas is somehow yote into the world of 32-bit games? Now that's an idea!

okay i see now that i have to make this clear:

i am a pewdiepie supporter through and through, yeah he does some stupid shit from time to time, but also doesn’t everyone??

there was that huuuuge thing about him saying the n-word, but like.........at least 88% of white people i know have either said it in the past or say it daily. two of my three brothers say it every single day(obviously im not condoning the use of it, it’s a horrible word with horrible background and white people should 100% not be allowed to say it, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t still get said)

and now there’s the issue of him misgendering a trans woman. as a trans person, obviously it’s upsetting, seeing someone being misgendered(even someone as stupid as that woman) is extremely off putting. but also, the video he watched never once explicitly said that she identified as a woman. once or twice the caption refers to her with she/her pronouns, but if you actually watch the video you’ll see that pewds is too busy laughing at her and her friends absolute idiocy to mind reading the “wants to post more videos” caption about her

Pewdiepie isn’t a nazi, here’s why

You think PewDiePie is a nazi most likely because you heard about the controversy that happened in 2017. This whole thing started when PewDiePie made a video dressed up as a soldier (not a nazi) and filmed himself watching “YouTube heroes,” a video made by YouTube itself that instructs viewers to report videos if they deem them ‘inappropriate’ and gave them the power to silence others. PewDiePie dressed up as a soldier (once again, not a nazi. No part of his costume showed nazi characteristics such as a swastika or an iron cross) to make the comparison that the video was the same as militarization. People took the video out of context and called him a nazi. He was also doing a series of videos where he asked fiverr accounts (people who will do wacky things for money) to make a sign saying “burn all Jews.” He did this thinking they wouldn’t go through with it as the phrase was the most horrific thing that he could think of, but they did since they didn’t know what the phrase meant as they didn’t speak English, and he posted the video to show others how far fiverr actors could go. Once again, people took this out of context and the Wall Street journal wrote several articles slandering him. That is why most people think he is a nazi, because of those slanderous articles that destroyed his image for no good reason other than the fact that traditional media wanted to get back at new media like YouTube in order to remain relevant. Now you may ask me why I defend PewDiePie so fervently. I do this because I am firm believer in the importance of context and doing research prior to calling someone a nazi, or even worse, declaring that he deserves to have his house broken into and property stolen because of his ‘actions’. Do research before you slander someone else.

It's not just slurs, PewDiePie didn't just say the N word one time(He said it multiple times actually), he collaborated with Ben Shapiro, had 2 guys paid to hold up a sign saying "Death to all Jews", and fucking promoted an alt right conspiracy theory channel among other stuff. Yes, he may have done a shit ton of charity work, but he is not a good person. You can't just deny that he's not doing these things and bury it under "dumb discourse"

I’ll try to stop with the discourse causing post for a while now, just fyi. I will say I do appreciate this ask over the other accusatory asks I’ve gotten in regards to the TERFs earlier, because I can tell that people like you who have these criticisms are genuinely concerned about hate and bigotry.

As far as I know (following this drama for a few years now) of the 4 controversies he’s been in, all but 1 can be explained away with context.

1. The Fiverr contoversy:This is the easiest to explain because everyone is under the notion that the message was strictly “Death to all Jews” and that he was spreading Nazi rhetoric. The truth is that the full message read “Death to all Jews, Subscribe to Keemstar”; a very edgy joke that understandably got him dropped from Maker Studios and justifiably turned away a portion of people who watched him, but it’s not a his genuine beliefs (I can’t change anyone’s mind who refuses to believe that it’s a joke when it’s so blatant). It’s honestly not even as edgy as some shit from Mumkey Jones or Filthy Frank.

2. The Ben Shapiro controversy:This one is the biggest non-issue: he reviews memes and at the time Ben Shapiro was a large figurehead in the “meme economy”, thus he got him on to review memes about himself. You can be angry that he would even collaborate with him, but no political topics were even mentioned in the video.

3. The E;R controversy:This one is probably the most slanderous controversy he has been in. PewDiePie decided to shout-out smaller channels on account of YouTube’s shafting of small channels through the algorithm. Of the 28 or so channels he linked to, he recommended an edgy channel based on 1 video. E;R is an edgelord who loves to piss people off, which may bother some people, but it doesn’t matter because he was removed from the shout-out because of the backlash. It’s like if someone made the connection that Nerd City or Whang! are Islamophobic school shooter worshipers because they like Mumkey Jones’ content, purely guilt by association. It’s honestly one of the biggest hatchet jobs from the money-hemorrhaging clickbait ‘news’ sites since Anthony Fantano was called alt-right for having a shitpost channel.

Finally: the N-word. I’m not defending his use, but he has only said it once (which people can justifiably decide not to watch his content for) and I have not seen or heard of any other occasions where he has repeated his mistake (aside from tumblr posts without links/sources). I’m of the belief that people are deserving of a second chance, especially since this is the only controversy that he’s been in that hasn’t been the media looking for a reason to put his name in the headlines. You do not have to like or support Pewdiepie, but saying that he is spreading Nazi propaganda is blatantly false. I would urge anyone who is extremely against his use of the N-word to also unsubscribe/avoid these youtubers who have also used the slur: iDubbbz, Filthy Frank/Joji, Pyrocynical, Demolition D+/DouchebagChocolat, H3H3, Keemstar, Destiny, and many others I’m forgetting.

(Also he donated $200K to an charity in India because he didn’t like the anti-Indian racism that was cropping up in his comments)

As a way to make this into a productive response, I’d like to suggest some other people you should focus on due to their shitty beliefs/actionsi. The Young Turks denying the Armenian Genocide (they named themselves after the group that acted out the genocide)ii. Onision being a borderline pedophile ‘rating’ photos of his young fans and emotionally manipulating his wifeiii. RiceGum and the Paul brothers in general (laundry list of shit)And this isn’t counting the sex pests in Hollywood or racism by people like Hulk Hogan and Mel Gibson.

TL;DR: Pewdiepie’s only crime was saying the n-word once and being edgy, he’s no worse than FilthyFrank, except he’s apologized for it. You don’t have to support him and no one will blame you, but he’s not a Nazi. Please stop that.

Why context matters, and why research is important

Quick tip: Do some fucking research on the topic in question before reblogging something that has a controversial opinion. Too often do I see fake news and media bias or just plain slander on my feed. Always make sure to view the situations in context. For example, take pewdiepie, defending against nazi allegations. He wore a nazi costume at some point. Thats what media says. However, if you look at the situation in context, he wore that as a gag that since the media was slamming him for his over the top jokes about his unnecessary jewish jokes (which he has agreed were not cool and sincerely apologized for multiple times), that he eventually became what everyone thought he was. IN ADDITION, he was wearing A FUCKING BRITISH OFFICER UNIFORM. This shit happens so often that I get sick of it. So many people are quick to reblog something saying “oh man this dude fucked up lets demean them because of this one thing they did”. Too often do they assume just because its on THEIR feed, that its automatically true. Please do some research before spreading awareness. I am all for trans rights, LGBTQ+ rights, gender equality, and all that positive shit. I am NOT all for slander, defamation, or otherwise negative shit. Even if they deserve it. Give everyone a chance. Don’t be quick to assume they’re automatically guilty. Thanks for coming to my TED talk.
