The power supply shroud is also extremely roomy since the HDD cages aren’t installed out-of-the-box, but even when they are installed they can be positioned forward to leave plenty of cable room.Ī recurring theme with Phanteks’ cases, especially the more expensive ones, is that they’re feature-rich to a fault. Credit is due for a really exceptional job here. The straps are placed both at the front of the case and the top edge of the PSU chamber, which covers almost every location that power cables must be routed. Critically, these hooks are open, so the straps can be slipped on and off without having to painstakingly thread them through tiny holes, one of the most frustrating aspects of normal cable tie points. The screws divide each strap into two halves, each of which loops around a hook built into the chassis. This channel has 3cm of clearance for cables, while other areas behind the motherboard tray have just over 2cm. Towards the front of the case, the wide cable management channel is covered with extremely long velcro straps that are screwed into the case. *Spec sheet taken from reviewer’s guide, we don’t necessarily agree with all claimsĪn unusual amount of effort has gone into the cable management system behind the motherboard tray.

Other than the fans, thin strips at the top of the front panel and along the edge of the PSU shroud are lit. The lighting is compatible with the 3-pin 5V headers used by ASUS, MSI, ASRock, etc. Listed specs for the fans are identical other than the LEDs. The base model comes with two 140mm non-RGB fans, the digital version comes with case lighting effects and three 140mm “D-RGB” fans, which is how Phanteks refers to addressable RGB. Like the P400A, the P500A comes in both normal and “digital” variants. Today, we’re reviewing the latest addition to the family, the Phanteks Eclipse P500A Digital, to see whether Phanteks is back on track.
Hard drive: 160GB Seagate Barracuda 7200.The Phanteks P400A Digital was our winner for best overall case in 2019, but our feelings were mixed about the less-expensive P300A because of its single stock fan.
CPU: Intel Core i7-870 CPU overclocked to 3.4GHz.
To load the system, we use a combination of the Unigine Heaven benchmark and the Small FFT test in Prime 95. Having recorded the ambient temperature in front of the main air intake of each case, we're then able to calculate the delta T - the difference between the ambient temperature of our lab and the temperature of the hardware. We record the temperature of the CPU using RealTemp, noting the temperature of the hottest core, and used GPU-Z to log the temperature of the graphics card. We also locked the fan speed on the graphics card to 30 per cent to prevent the automatic speed control interfering with the results. The NF-S12B ULN is a low-airflow fan, so it will highlight cases with poor cooling for the CPU. The CPU is cooled by a Gelid Tranquillo CPU cooler with a Noctua NF-S12B ULN 120mm fan.

Fanfic 2020 in Review
I got tagged by @kasienda @noirshitsuji and @marvelousmsmol and I am tagging whoever wants to play!
1) List of fics completed this year in the order they were finished:
*filters own works to complete and updated in 2020*
1 - 20 of 57 Works by AlexSeanchai
nope. *adds filter to include only works of at least 1000 words*
unless otherwise indicated, these are all Miraculous Ladybug:
“don’t bake it lying down”, post-reveal Marichat vs Felix Graham de Vanily
“veracity”, canon divergence from “Ladybug” featuring Mister Bug and Verity Queen (so also Marichat, I guess)
“(no request is too extreme, if) your heart is in your dream”, in which Hawkmoth wins, for the thirty seconds or so before Emilie saves Ladybug and Chat Noir’s lives
“tell me you love me and make me believe it”, in which trans girl Chatonne Noire ropes Ladybug into helping plan her civilian self’s escape slash social transition
“kingmaker, oathbreaker”, in which Hawkmoth wins and Emilie watches her son remove himself from the family
“stay and let me watch you break it down” (Twelve Dancing Princesses), a modern setting
“set a course for winds of fortune”, in which trans girl Chatonne Noire has already escaped and Gabriel and Nathalie are trying to bring Gabriel’s son home
“we ground love in a hopeless place”, in which post-reveal Marinette’s attempt to remain resolutely not in love with her partner dissolves like sugar in coffee when they start a pun war
“ring the bells that still can ring”, in which Alya is deeply confused about why Adrien and Marinette are planning a wedding when last night both were single
“burning wishes at both ends (the cold wind and long loud wail remix)”, in which Gabriel made a monkey’s paw wish and Emilie makes another
“words cannot espresso”, in which Marinette’s OC roommate is justifiably worried for Marinette’s safety, and meanwhile Adrien takes care of Marinette
“the compromise of truth” (the chronologically second-earliest part posted to date of nine lives, snake’s eyes), in which Adrien tells his friends how he won some freedom and respect from his father
“At The Present Time”, the Ladrien/Ladynoir marriage proposal follow-up to @art-deco-shrimp‘s  “Your Presents Required”
“j'ai rêvé (so I don't have to dream alone)”, in which the events of canon must just have been a series of dream sequences, Marinette and Adrien both think, until they both arrive at Chloe’s Halloween masquerade dressed as themselves from the dreams
2) Number of words written:
ahahaha no. I am not counting all my scattered fic drafts and trying to figure out what I did and didn’t write in 2020. I refuse.
AO3 says I posted 162K in 2020. it is counting all of keeps you guessing (like any real love), which (a) I started posting in 2019 (b) is co-written by @galahadwilder; it is counting all of my meta snippets collection, much of which was written in 2019; it is counting the Vimeo passwords for my vids. but I probably cleared 150K by a safe margin.
3) Your most popular fic:
“veracity” has a four-digit kudos count, wow, when’d that happen? this is also the 2020 work with the most hits and the most bookmarks, but “tell me you love me” has four-thirds as many comments as its nearest competitor.
4) Your personal fav:
“cannot break us, not with a thousand swords”, no question about it. this is the one in which Ladybug proposes marriage to Chat Noir via Princess Bride meme on Tumblr. (if you intend to download the work or otherwise to consume it with creator style off, you want the accessible version instead of the primary version.)
5) Your fav scene:
aaaaaaaaa
—okay so this is cheating and I know it, since Uncertain Humors (the one where Marinette/Adrien is both Orpheus/Eurydice and Theseus/Ariadne) is nowhere near finished, never mind posted (maybe I'll get “Sanguine” done to post on my birthday?)
but it is still my favorite of the year. as you might guess from that description of the story, this scene has content notes for character death:
Hell is a maze. Marinette walks.
This acrid passage has little to see but damp stone, seeming blood-stained in the dim carmine light. At about the height of her heart, the faintly glowing thread cuts through the not-clammy air; it ought to be pulsing at the same rate as the heart it's bound to. She might be able to see her own reflection if she looked down at the open sewage pipe, or at one of the puddles that now and again she splashes through, dampening the canvas of her shoes. She might see reflected what's behind her.
She remembers Mme. Mendeleiev lecturing on human physiology. In healthy humans old enough to have learned how, urination is a voluntary action: one may not know which muscles one tenses and relaxes in order to do so, and probably isn't paying attention to those details when one is doing, but one has conscious control over whether one does. Usually. Stress and anxiety mean some people are unable to relax the relevant sphincter muscle and others are unable to stop themselves. It's voluntary for cats, too: it's one way they mark their territories. Cat-boys have other ways.
There is a moment in every human life when all one's muscles relax at once. Some Parisians have had several such moments.
The thread is braided with itself around her left fourth finger, rows of tiny red half-hitch knots, and falls loosely over the back of her hand to loop twice around her wrist. She holds it wrapped between the fingers of her right hand to keep it at a constant tension, as though knitting with this insubstantial thread, so fragile for something two (two dozen, two million) lives hang from—too thin to sew with, no thicker than one strand of his hair. As she walks, she winds it around and around and around her wrist.
Between her ring finger and her right hand, it loops twice.
Marinette's shoe lands in a puddle she didn't see. The rainwater splashes soundlessly onto her bare ankle and on the stone.
(With cat-like tread, upon our prey we steal— It's a very loud song.)
She walks on.
6) A fic or scene that challenged you:
where the firelight fades, no contest. this is the second story I’ve ever been able to stick with more than a couple hundred words past the 20K mark, but it’s easily the twentieth novel-length I’ve begun. (though also, you know that kedreeva post? well, 90K later, I’m less than 15K from completing this 10K fic! I think.) and I have been learning so much about long-form fiction.
there has also been a lot of weeping and tearing my hair. case in point: I just trashed the chapter 15 draft because I figured out the reason it wasn’t going anywhere! I can probably keep the first few hundred words of that draft without any editing, and another few hundred with some revision...
7) A line of writing you’re proud of:
from “j'ai rêvé (so I don't have to dream alone)”:
Everything about their partnership is fragments of sentences in the dream diary Adrien writes in ultraviolet pen. Disjointed flickers of thought even when examined under the black light he hides in the snack cabinet under packets of Super Yoyo sandwich cookies and bags of cheesy Monster Munch potato chips and boxes of petit écolier butter cookies (chocolat noir)—none of which explains the gym-socks smell. All fleeting incoherent flashes, invisible between the mundane lines of La Modification shelved at his bedside between Leroux and Dumas. None of it is solid. Adrien has more proof his room's haunted.
okay let me break this down for you!
* Adrien started a dream diary to make sense of the memories
* in invisible ink, in a book that (according to Wikipedia) is thematically appropriate and won’t (if Gabriel sees it) look like anything other than Adrien developing an interest in French literature
* shelved between Phantom of the Opera and The Three Musketeers
* look I didn’t come up with the name “black light”
* or “chocolat noir” for what English speakers call “dark chocolate”, or “petit écolier” (that is, “little schoolboy”) for that sort of butter cookie
* also not my fault that “chocolat noir” sounds remarkably like “Chat Noir”, which, attentive readers may have noticed, is not a name that appears in the story after the header and before Miraculous Cure
* I found the website of a store in Boston, Massachusetts that caters to French expats, and the yo-yo cookies and the monster chips were right there in the photos, y’all
* the snack stash and the black light live in the cabinet where, in canon, the Camembert lives; yes, that cheese smells in the real world like gym socks
* this story’s akuma was not able to affect anything but squishy human memory: nobody affected remembers anything about Ladybug or Chat Noir or Hawkmoth, not in any solid way, not even when they read news articles about the subject, and this includes Marinette and Adrien not being able to see or hear or remember their own kwamis—but you know what Adrien’s Insta post about his poltergeist and Adrien’s Insta post with the floating sock don’t show and don’t explicitly refer to?
* I love this paragraph so much (my housemates may have been lovingly mocking me over it)
8) A comment that touched you:
there are people (y’all know who you are) who said y’all are studying my style. I ded of blush.
9) Something that inspired your writing:
by volume of fic drafts that can be blamed on any particular person, the winner is probably @norakwami
10) Your proudest accomplishment (that one scene; finally finishing that one fic; posting your first fic; etc):
so that longest-story-ever-written record I set in 2007 with the 89.5K story that, till where the firelight fades, was the only story I’d gotten much past 20K?
I broke that fucking record!
and then I deleted the draft of firelight chapter 15 😭
11) Do you have any writing goals for the next year?
I’m starting work on a fantasy novel, a Sleeping Beauty retelling in which I explore (among other things) the economic consequences of the king’s ordering all the spinning wheels burned, and I want to make significant progress on that. and I want to not make my hands any worse; I kind of need those!
(breaking news alert: bodies fucking suck. so does giving yourself repetitive stress injuries in doing one and a half to two people’s worth of work for an organization that was never ever going to pay you more than one person’s worth of pay.)

Thank you @llamapyjamas for the tag!
I did a little bit of writing this weekend now that I have a semi-normal schedule again.
This is from a new AU I started working on (because I definitely needed another WIP 😬)... it's loosely based on the movie Phantom Thread (hence the header image), but with a lot more vampire sex.
Anyway, here's Simon, in the prologue:
Tumblr media
I rewrote the first chapter twice yesterday, because I am zero percent confident in my ability to write angst and smut, and this thing is going to be 90% angst and (mild) smut. Also I'm still undecided about what POV I want to use... I'm trying out third person, but I'm so used to first person that it feels weird to me. I'm very excited about the fic! But this is far outside my writing comfort zone haha.
I'll just tag a few people, though anyone who sees this should feel welcome to participate! 💙 @captain-aralias @amywaterwings @merisalright @nightimedreamersworld @satsukii @mageicalwishes @anika-222 @arca9

Why I love ‘Attack of the Clones’
I think that Attack of the Clones is the underrated gem of the Star Wars universe. Yeah, I said it. And here is my review of the film and why I think so!
The beginning of the film sets up the rest of the film so well. It's beautifully done. We begin with Amidala's attack, which is a neat reference to how Padme had her bodyguard/double all throughout The Phantom Menace. From that we get the concise, digestible explanation of the Separatist vs. the Republic, and why the Jedi Knights are needed and why Amidala specifically needs Jedi protection as well. It wasn't ham-handed, it wasn't confusing, it flowed so naturally. By the way, it also proved how wrong the Machete Cut is (which cuts out TPM). You *need* TPM for the moments between Amidala/Palpatine to work, and boy, do they work.
Speaking of Amidala needing Jedi protection, what that scene also gave us what further insight into Anakin and Obi-Wan's relationship. Further insight because our first introduction to the two with Anakin as a young man was fantastic. Say what you will about Hayden Christensen's acting–and, no, I don't blame him, I've seen him in other things, he's been good–but he and Ewan MacGregor are fantastic together. Great chemistry, wonderful ying and yang. Their quick ride in the elevator showed a bit of sibling, but also a touch of a father/son vibe, with a dose of mentorship. Overall their friendship shone through. Ah, until that scene with Amidala when the mentorship came into strong play and whoo, boy! that little "discussion" about what a Jedi mandate is and is not right in front of Amidala and her entourage was the very definition of AWKWARD! It set up the differences right off the bat between Anakin and Obi-Wan and really Anakin and the Jedi.
OK, fine, the scene could have been better (as so many in this film--but the same could be said for Revenge of the Sith) had Hayden Christensen done a better acting job. However, as I wrote above, it's really not that Christensen is a bad actor, it's that he's an actor who truly needs direction. For example, Samuel L. Jackson is not a bad actor. At all. And, yet, he's kinda dreadful in these films. Frankly, I never thought I'd think that SLJ is a bad actor. However, He is in this Prequel Trilogy and that's because George Lucas is not a strong director for actors. So Christensen's acting woes can be laid at the feet of Lucas. MacGregor, Natalie Portman, Ian McDiarmid are simply the types of actors who can deliver a performance without the aid of director to guide them. Some can do so better than others. Christensen isn't one of them. So essentially I just accepted that I could harp on the less than stellar acting coming from the co-lead thanks (or no thanks) to the direction or enjoy the overall storytelling, the brilliant weaving together of the threads and how well the characters, the plots and the action pieces worked.
Yes, the actions pieces... like the chase sequence with Obi-Wan, Anakin and Amidala's would-be assassin. That was awesome. Thrilling, sharply-directed and I just loved the humor. The banter was just top-notch between Anakin and Obi-Wan. When Obi-Wan asked what took Anakin so long, had he stopped with just saying he was looking for a speeder he liked it would have been eh, a one-liner without any punch but he kept it up while Obi-Wan was giving directions, with bits about what he liked in a speeder which gave just enough resonance that it had the feel of a long-running joke. This gave it a touch of realism, familiarity to their relationship. It was great, and, again, Christensen and MacGregor are just so good together. Lucas wrote these two so, so well.
And he knew how to twist the knife! Obi-Wan to Anakin: "Why do I think you're going to be the death of me?" {SOBS}
OK, so I wrote above about how if one can put aside Christensen's acting issues it is very possible to see the good of this film. A shining example of this is the juxtaposition of Kamino and the Lake Country on Naboo. Firstly, let's just talk about the awesome of Kamino itself. I simply cannot get over how GORGEOUS everything about Kamino is. The aliens, the design of the infrastructure, the costuming, it's just all top-notch gorgeous. I love every single, solitary moment of the Kamino stuff. The creation and history of the clones, Boba Fett's backstory, him being a clone of Jango–the one who wasn't changed or accelerated, how it so naturally fit into the introduction of the Clone Wars. So brilliant. And also how Jango and the clones were tied into that exhilarating open sequence/attack on Amidala. Aah, just so good.
Now, let's tie that brilliance in with Lake Country... because it *does* tie into Kamino and that is a big reason why I just can't hate on the love story as presented in Attack of the Clones. Because of *how* it's presented. By giving us Anakin and Padme falling in love in the Lake Country at the same time we (through Obi-Wan) learned about Kamino and the clones we saw love and war side by side. It made perfect sense juxtaposing the Lake Country and Kamino. You have the two young lovers falling on the one side, and the Clone army, set up for war, on the other. We know that Anakin falling in love with Padme is going to eventually lead him to take the Dark Path, and the Clone Army is going to turn on the Jedi somehow. Having the introduction of the clones and the introduction of the love story juxtaposed is brilliant because here you have the two key forces that BRING THE JEDI DOWN: Order 66 and Anakin Skywalker falling in love. It's so perfect.
Yes, yes, again, the love story section probably features Christensen's worst acting, but again, I blame Lucas. As for the actual scenes themselves (outside of his acting), well, I like them. I'm fine with the over-the-top dialogue. I don't think there was anything wrong with it. Was it extra? Yes. Is he a Skywalker? Yes. Are Skywalkers extra? Is the sky blue? It's who he is, he's gonna go overboard with his exclamations. It's completely in character for the Skywalkers and for Anakin Skywalker. Totally. Also, in addition to his over-the-top exclamations of love, these scenes also showed us that before he went fully Dark Side, yes, Anakin already did believe in the idea of someone like the Emperor. That idea was something he was for.
Oh, and biggie here, I absolutely think that the "I don't like sand" was a fantastic line. It was about Tatooine and all that it represented, and like he said the opposite of what Padme was. It just meant so much and was (a) a callback to his childhood as a slave, being owned by someone, and the freedom that his mother never got, and (b) foreshadowing for what was to come with Shmi's death because "sand" was representative of Tatooine. *sigh* Yeah, Shmi. Man, oh, man. Shmi's death scene just guts me every time. Seriously, it makes me cry. Now, this... this is easily Christensen's best acting in the entire trilogy. The love and connection is just immediately there between them and when she's gone his devastation is so real and that switch from pain to anger is just ON! Ugh, and when he starts killing and then it swipes to Yoda and we hear Qui-Gon crying out "Anakin! Anakin!" it just breaks my heart. This is one of the best scenes in the entire Saga.
And then were back to the action. The "machines making machines" set piece and the arena sequence are both awesome and fun, with Anakin, Padme and Obi-Wan showing off their skills, wit, bravery, bravado and just overall awesome. And in between the two, oh, I loved, loved the scene between Anakin and Padme before they were brought out into the arena where she confessed her love ("I truly, deeply love you"). It was a beautiful scene, my favorite Anakin/Padme scene. I don't think that Christensen and Portman had the best chemistry or that Anakin/Padme love story was the best written, but this scene was one that I think showed the best promise of what could have been had a better director (sorry, George) and a better love story writer had taken on that aspect. Anyway, back to the action, past the arena battle where the trio were losing despite a valiant effort before the Jedi showed up was awesome, but then they were losing too... until Yoda showing up with the clones and took over and that was awesome!
OK, we're reaching the end now and still we're continuing to get those signs of what's to come. Anakin is truly caught between love over duty, wanting to save Padme over going after Dooku and Obi-Wan is witness and has to really push to keep him on the right path. But wait there's more goodness ahead! Oh, yeah, the triple header of a lightsaber duel between Anakin and Obi-Wan and Dooku! But wait! There's even more! And better! I just... man... I will never not love the Yoda/Dooku lightsaber fight because, dude, Yoda in a lightsaber fight is AWESOME!
Finally, we reach the end and for those who have seen the Original Trilogy we know where this all leads and so it's perfect. This wedding of Anakin and Padme with no dialogue, just the two at the Lake Country on Naboo where they fell in love. It's perfectly done because it should be a happy occasion, but it's a somber affair. Even during their wedding kiss, neither is really smiling. The final long shot of the two, with R2 and C3P0 as their only guests on the balcony where they shared their first kiss against that gorgeous backdrop is so lovely... ah, but we know, we know there is no happy ending here. As the overall feel of the scene tells us despite the visual beauty of it.
So, yeah, this is why I love this movie. This is all the good, the great I see in it.Attack of the Clones: Underrated gem of the Star Wars universe.

Today we’re building a gaming PC and the best part is that it’s not going to cost you an arm and a leg. In fact, the parts list for this PC came to around $700 with mail-in rebates, which is pretty sweet come to think of it. We haven’t done a sub $1,000 gaming PC build in a really long time. Now before I jump into the parts list, I do want to mention something very important. This is a gaming PC and I want to emphasize gaming because that’s ultimately what we’re going for- it’s not necessarily something that’s geared for streaming or content creation. In fact, if you’re looking for something that can do all of that, you might have to spend a few extra hundred dollars to achieve that.
Also, please note that these were the prices when we bought the components so they may change over time.
CPU
This gaming PC is built around Intel’s B365 platform, and I’m sure most of you might’ve not heard of that, but it exists. Before you guys started raging in the comments, hear me out for a second: First of all, this build is not sponsored by Intel and secondly we feel like this is the best bang for the buck gaming PC that you can get given the budget that we are working with. There are some downsides going with this platform and I’ll mention those a little bit later along with some suggestions and alternatives if you absolutely, desperately need Ryzen in your life because I know some people are going to feel hurt for us not going with Ryzen.
The CPU of choice is the Core i5 9400F: it’s a six core processor without hyper-threading and it doesn’t have IGP, which isn’t the goal for this build because it’s strictly a gaming PC and that’s where a discreet GPU comes into play. It’s priced at $145 and for the same cost, if you’re looking for something from AMD, that would be the Ryzen 5 3400G which features four cores and eight threads and comes with built-in Radeon RX graphics.
Another alternative is the Ryzen 5 2600 which is a six-core, 12-thread processor and you can pick it up for less than $120; it seems like a better option if you’re looking for streaming, but do keep in mind that it isn’t the latest and greatest offering from AMD. If you were to look from a raw FPS standpoint, Intel still takes the edge. You could also go with the Ryzen 5 3600, but that’s going to add an extra hundred dollars on top of this given budget. The good thing about going with Ryzen is that you can also overclock that processor to squeeze just a little bit more performance, whereas with Intel it’s locked, which means you really can’t tinker around with the settings and that’s unfortunate but what we’re working with given the budget.
Motherboard
As for the motherboard, I chose the ASRock B365M Phantom Gaming 4, it’s a micro ATX board with two M.2 MVME slots, one of them featuring a heat sync. For $85. this is a good looking motherboard. It doesn’t need overclocking capabilities like Z390, since the i5 processor that we’re using is locked out of the box and it serves our purpose pretty well. Now here are the downsides of going with a B365 motherboard, and the first one is pretty obvious: It’s upgradability, because if you plan on dropping in a 9700K or 9900K, you won’t be able to get the best performance out of them because they can’t overclock on this board. Secondly, you also lose on IO expansions with this platform and this chipset.
Whereas with Ryzen, you can make your way up to a higher end Ryzen processor and still be able to overclock that processor. For instance, you can go with a B350 motherboard and then perhaps later upgrade to something like a 2700X or potentially even drop in a 3700X and overclock that as well. The upgradability options are certainly a lot more open on the AMD side versus Intel.
Cooling
To cool the CPU, we decided to use the stock cooler that comes with the processor just to keep the price under $700 after rebates. But if you’re comfortable spending a few extra bucks, I would highly recommend picking up the Hyper 212 Evo from Cooler Master. Specifically, the Black Edition that doesn’t come with any RGB nonsense. It’s a lot quieter than the stock one and it gives you better temperatures as well and another option if you’re looking into something that’s not too ugly.
Memory
For memory, we went with 16GB of Corsair Vengeance LPX modules clocked at 2666MHz. This is a dual channel kit and it’s priced at $63, which is something that we were able to find to fit the budget.
Storage
This next bit is the most exciting part, and in fact, I have never been this excited about using a storage solution before. The Silicon Power A80 MVME SSD is 512GB in capacity and it only costs $60. That is just crazy. I mean, $60 for 512GB is absolute madness, it’s a steal. I can’t wait to test the performance of this SSD, but it also makes me realize how high capacity SSDs are getting cheap. This is a perfect fit for the build.
Graphics Card
The most important part of this build is the graphics card. And for that we decided to go with EVGA GTX 1660 SC because it’s priced at $240 and you can pick it up right now for $220 with some rebates. Also, you’re not paying the RTX tax and for 1080p gaming this is a perfect fit in my opinion.
Power Supply
Powering this entire build is the Corsair CX 450M, a semi modular PSU and it should be plenty enough to power the entire hardware.
Case
Finally, the case choice is the Phanteks P300. It’s priced less than $65 and for that it looks good, not to mention the red interior does give it a bit of a premium look. You also get tempered glass – if you want to showcase the components inside the PC, this is a great option.
Now that we have the parts list out of the way, let’s put together this build.
Final Build
This is the final build, and to be honest with you, I’m not happy with the way how it looks. Let’s get the first thing out of the way and that is the stock cooler. It is an eyesore to look at, especially through that temper glass panel. It just doesn’t a fit because you’ve got those cables going into the front panel or the fan header. Something just doesn’t feel in sync with this gaming PC and this can easily be addressed with an aftermarket cooling solution. If you plan on picking up the HyperX 212 Black Edition, that should be a perfect fit for this build.
The next thing that bothered me the most is the case because it only comes to these single 120mm exhaust fan at the back and no front intake fans, which is not an ideal airflow solution. When I ran my temperature test the CPU and GPU were pretty cool but I would highly recommend picking a few extra intake fans for the front so that you have that air flow movement going through the hardware. That is one of the downsides with this case and I wish Phanteks included an extra fan for the front, but possibly negative pressure inside this case could be one of those factors that led to lower CPU and GPU temperatures.
  Gaming Performance
The last thing to go over is how does a game? With this PC, you can comfortably push heavy duty AAA titles at 1080p set to the highest settings way above 60 frames per second. This includes Battlefield One, Overwatch, Apex Legends, Far Cry 5 and Shadow of the Tomb Raider.
I also ended up benchmarking the A80 NVME SSD, and as you can see, it’s, it’s crazy fast. This is mind-blowing.
Now you might notice that I did not include synthetic benchmarks as well as real-world rendering performance results and that’s because as I mentioned earlier, this is a gaming PC, but when I am planning on doing very soon is comparing a dollar is a dollar Intel versus AMD build very soon. Stay tuned as I’ll take this build and compare it to the Ryzen 5 2600 with the same graphics card and then see what the performance is like compared them head to head.
