The more I battle #TeamGoRocket 🚀 the easier it gets.

My tips would be:

Keep battling n level up ur Medal 🏅

Keep purifying Shadow Pokémon

And I would recommend using THESE POKÉMON:

#1: Dragonite

#2: Giratina Altered Form

#3: Tyranitar

#4: Gyrados

Honestly, these tend to be my go-to Pokémon counters to start off with in any battle against Team Go Rocket ‘s Shadow Pokémon!

I think the #1 best one to start with is a Dragonite, and stock up on as many as u can! If u start off w that one n it dies fast, hop out n switch to either Giratina Altered Form or Gyrados.

The higher the CP is better, but bad IVs makes a Pokémon generally useless. I have a high CP shiny Gyrados but it’s IVs are poor.

Also, a 3K+ CP is significantly better than anything under that.

Also, my game default forces me to play in Master League so I cannot change it. I’m also always default stuck on playing w my highest CP Pokémon which has 2 Slakings w bad IVs n it can take up to a 5 min lag n several crashes to switch these out. I know some people have teams saved in the game but it never works on my iPhone 📱. I must default choose Pokémon manually each time.

Battling Team Go Rocket 🚀 Shadow Pokémon is much different than a PVP battle against another trainer or a team leader.

I’ve found that anything that works in a normal PVP is kinda out the window against a Shadow Pokémon.

I’ve had some of my best Pokémon just murdered in seconds by a Shadow Rattata or a Shadow Zubat! And many other factors can be completely out the window as well! Sometimes weather boosts mean nothing whatsoever! And it can be the case for ur Pokémon or the Shadow Pokémon.

I’ve blown through 20+ Pokémon just trying to beat Shadow Pokémon that shouldn’t ever be that powerful or have beaten previously.... there’s no way to explain it either.

Also, I still find that Shadow Snorlax is The most difficult one to beat. Or, if u beat him, u r not likely to catch him.

Shadow Zubat & Shadow Golbat r also frustrating. Like, I could go days beating n catching them, then have a string of bad luck w them.

Also, like many players, I’ve found that battling Shadow Pokémon can be the MOST NERVE RACKING! I’ve many times actually experienced intense fear, and been panicked, very scared and even my heart would would start pounding a bit. I’ve experienced this a few times.

I experienced this the first few times I ever played a Shadow Pokémon, but also every once in a while, u will come across a Shadow Pokémon that just kills ur Pokémon in 2 seconds n it’s pretty terrifying. It also doesn’t matter if it’s daytime or nighttime.

I’ve many times gasped. Especially when it’s just a Shadow Rattata and ur fully charged Dragonite just drops dead! It’s really spooky!

When I get a string of these 1 after the other I take a break from Shadow Pokémon for a few days. I’m still on my Bronz Medal 🏅.

But, just keep at it, n take breaks.

There’s something especially creepy n freaky about Shadow Pokémon n I’m not the only person to mention this.

They’re tortured 😖 Pokémon.

I would actually keep each n every one if I could.... but they don’t always have good IVs after purification. I always feel guilty about transfering them. It’s literally called a Rescue in game when u catch one. And whenever I transfer one, I feel like I’m abandoning it. Like I’m a false hero...

It’s very tragic.

But, I have evolved a number of my purified Pokémon.

Maximize your XP gain by aligning your first catch of the day with a new gen3 addition to your pokedex, and don't forget to use a lucky egg. Also, this would be a good time to save those pinap berries so you can get gen3 candies faster. But don't use them just to evolve and get those pokedex entries. Trainer Tips! When training a friendly gym, you don't necessarily want to use your strongest Pokémon. Where my CP 2214 Arcanine would've gotten 100-200ish prestige points for beating each Pokémon and maybe, if I were lucky, could've gotten 1500ish total for beating the entire gym (which I doubt it could've), this CP 992 Sandslash reliably got about 1788 points every time I beat up these three defenders (all weak against Ground attacks, like many typical gym defenders) and ran away. Using a Pokémon with a lower CP than the defender automatically gives a minimum 500 points for each Pokémon, so even if you can only beat one Pokémon you'll level up the gym significantly faster than you would by using a stronger Pokémon. (You can get even more per Pokémon using a larger CP gap if you use type matchups properly.) Happy training! (P.S. Another tip: defending Pokémon attack twice in quick succession when they first enter the battle.
