He opens the clasp on the collar and reaches around Ed to slide it in place and close it securely. He doesn't miss the full body shiver that runs through Edward when the collar is resting safely against his skin once again, bell tucked neatly into the hollow of his throat. Ed turns around to look at him. He looks ethereal in the bright afternoon light, hair a halo of silver around him. His next words are like molten lava poured over Stede's head. "What would you have me do, Captain?"

Not because this -their relationship, their life together- doesn't feel real, because it does, it feels real like the breeze on his face and the ground beneath his boots and the immensity of the sky above him, but because he never knew any of what he's experienced with Stede over the past few weeks was possible. In his wildest fantasies, maybe, he dreamed of sweet tea and fine fabrics, the warmth of good brandy sliding down his throat while the fire kept his feet cozy and Stede's voice spread like wildfire through his chest. But his imagination failed him so completely when it comes to Stede Bonnet. - Stede takes Ed dancing.

He turns to Ed, looking up at him expectantly on the bed, the cascade of his hair loose around his shoulders and his eyes huge and vulnerable, bathed in the golden light of the fireworks the crew is setting off on deck. - Ed cries out, grips Stede's arm tight enough to bruise, and Stede will wear the lovely shades of purple on his skin proudly, a mark of their passion to match the ones he left on Ed's thighs earlier. "That's it, hold onto me. Let me give you what you need." He needs to take care of him so very desperately. - Picks up right after Stede closes the bed curtains. Tender, horny sex ensues.

Ed makes his way back to Stede after watching the ships burn. - Something settles into place within him as he hacks and slashes his way back to Stede. He doesn't want to do this anymore, he's certain of that. But maybe he doesn't have to burn his bridges to get to where he's going. Maybe everything he's capable of can serve him well sometimes, maybe there's some middle ground between fisherman and pirate.

Here's a vampire AU I made! Twist to this is that Gordon's a vampire, Benrey's human and just weird as fuck. There's no real plot to this (though at the time of writing this post I do plan to write a fic or two), but @/winkyfaceanon has made two really sweet fics for this AU, check em out!

You're still here, and you're beautiful to me. Takes place post-canon. Benrey respawns after Xen, and none of his injuries are healed. He then finds Gordon, who helps to take care of his injuries. I personally consider this one of my best works. There's things I'd change now, of course, but I still love it a lot. Read the content warnings.

as long as your heart continues to beat. Takes place during canon. Benrey's listening to Gordon's heartbeat after the betrayal. And then it stops. This one isn't beta read and I wrote it in like, a few hours on the fly, so it's not my best, but I like it.

Cuddles are the best cure for depression actually. Takes place post-canon. This is exactly what it says on the tin. Benrey's got depression and can't get out of bed, Gordon cuddles him. Short but sweet.

If ten million fireflies lit up the world as I fell asleep. Takes place post-canon. Gordon and Benrey are kinda in a relationship, and Benrey gets a package at the door that he's not letting Gordon see. In the middle of the night, Gordon gets to see what it is. This one's REALLY cute, and I really love it. It's fluffy and it's sweet.

all for the love of you. Saying this straight-up, READ THE CONTENT WARNINGS. Takes place post-canon. Tommy finds a... note from Benrey that he wrote before Xen. I have more complicated feelings towards this fic, I don't personally like it as much in retrospect and think I could've done much better on it, but I'm putting it here since it is still one of my fics. Read the content warnings, for the love of god.

Benrey gets drunk fic. Takes place post-canon. This is just a fluff fic I wrote for the third HLVRAI anniversary where Benrey's drunk and flirting with a very sober and very gay Gordon, who does not know how to cope with this.

do your job and keep them safe. Takes place during canon. This is... well, let's just say it's a reframing of HLVRAI from Benrey's perspective (at least, in align with my headcanons). Only the first thousand or so words are on Ao3, the rest are in Google Docs, as I made... choices that could only be made in Google Docs. I always link my Ao3 because it has the EXTREMELY necessary content warnings, which I couldn't include on the Google Doc. I personally think this is one of my best works, and if you are in a space where you can read it, please do, this over anything. Read the content warnings.

Aw man, just reread my document I wrote on my speculation on how the metagene works & how modern DC could rewrite it to being a result of retroviruses & transposons and man, I really wish I finished that post.

Unfortunately, the reason I stopped was explaining it all down to the point where someone with little genetic knowledge could still understand it proved to be too lengthy and long winded of a task.

Maybe one day I’ll pour myself back into research & finish that speculative paper. Bc I had a whole fun idea that relied on that background information that was about the Daily Planet reporting on the discovery of an entire city of metas with similar meta abilities. The town faced such high levels of radiation and contamination, only the population with the meta gene survived:(

#The meta ability was just super perfect cell replication. #No changes outward. They appear perfectly normal #to be clear. ppl still age. the power is just that their cells are super good at replicating the way they’re meant to #Zero chance of tumors or damaged DNA due to the radiation because their meta ability just resumes them to their previous state. #the city blows up afterward in the news cycle due to people trying to go there so they don’t die from cancer. #and don’t have a risk of cancer BUT THE CITY IS STILL IRRADIATED AS HELL AND THE PPL THAT ENTER CANNOT LEAVE #DUE TO THEM BECOMING SO RADIOACTIVE THEYRE A HAZARD TO BE CLOSE TO WITHOUT PPE #i just thought it was such a fun idea and me being me I overthink the shit outta things & made it super long and overcomplicated #because I wanted people to also learn what retroviruses & transposons were bc they’re cool as hell #and by the time I wrote 5K words on it #I didn’t want to take the shortcut and just embed other ppl’s videos explaining it bc I had already put too much effort into it #for me to delete that research #bones speaks #the cause? the city was built ontop a large kryptonite meteor. #and someone (cough cough LexCorp. but no one actually has enough legal proof to say it’s them) #and when it’s investigated. it appears that someone (cough cough LexCorp. there’s not any legal proof that can pin it on them. #so lexcorp once again escapes scott free without evidence of villany) #has been digging tunnels under the city and excavating it. the excavation not following proper mining protocols caused the city’s ground #and water supply to become extremely irradiated to the point where it’s like when ppl were just eating & drinking uranium products. #actually imma stop myself here & make this it’s own post #anyways. the radioactive bit gets figured out due to the poorly constructed tunnels collapsing and the city conducting an investigation #leading to a ‘oh shit. the Geiger counter is saying this sinkhole is Super radioactive.’ #to ‘HOLY SHIT THATS THE ENTIRE TOWN’ #to ‘wait fuck how are we still alive? to ‘a weirdly high percentage of folks in the town had metagenes so not a super significant amount #of ppl has died from abnormal lookin cancer.’ to ‘oh my god everyone that doesn’t have the meta gene here is slowly dying get them Out Now’ #bones writes in the tags #anyways. that’s kinda the story #I’ll rewrite the tags into a proper post and see if I can revise it so my paper isn’t needed to make some plot points work #bc it’s a Far simpler explanation than the one I wrote in the doc so I’ll base it off of this version instead

‘enjoyer’ to me has two meanings. it either means you’re a “fake fan” who hasn’t actually properly read/watched/played the media for yourself and you don’t know that much about it but you like it on a surface level and that’s enough for you, or it means you have done the above but you refuse to participate in fandom culture online for it lest discourse and negativity end up ruining you and so you just enjoy it peacefully by yourself. i think this is an excellent term btw

#there are lots of things i consider myself an enjoyer of that i’ll post about occasionally #like ace attorney and persona 5 for some examples #even though i only really know some stuff i enjoy seeing it on my dash #there are a few things i like and i am a ‘true fan’ of but i won’t show those colors on here #like miraculous ladybug. i’m media literate enough by now to recognize nitpicks and handle them with grace by myself #so i don’t even wanna touch whatever is probably going on on here #bc i know it’s silly and wild but listen the very specific type of shenanigan that mlb is? you either love it or you hate it. and i love it #and there are too many fans who fall into that ‘hate’ category and don’t realize that the show is never gonna be for them #this is all to say i’m not certain yet what i’ll do about pokémon legends arceus #like do i add it to my pinned post do i start following blogs and browsing tags etc #or do i just quietly enjoy it alone on my blog and reblog stuff that floats my way but never go out looking for stuff #bc yknow it’s actually quite relaxing not participating in fandom sometimes yanno #and i don’t want anything to kill my hype #when something has either a large fandom or regular releases you can always be satisfied by the content that’s there #aka there’s no pressure on you to entertain yourself and make the stuff you want to see #i love kh but that’s how it is for me sometimes and i guess that’s the kicker of not having played the games myself #is that my entire experience with it is through youtube vids and fandom online which is probably not great #i’m probably exhausting myself more than i should over it #i have played twewy myself obv so i can entertain myself but also the fandom is tiny and chill anyway #i like creating my own twewy posts tho lol #most of the time #i do get tired sometimes of feeling like i have to provide content for others #or really tbh it’s not even others fault most of the time it’s self inflicted #bc i do genuinely love analyzing media and writing down my thoughts and sharing #when i write a huge block of text that’s the real me. when i do meme edits that’s me trying to people please #art is..: somewhere in between #peach rambles
