Sometimes, I think about every detail of this 39 seconds for 39 minutes. And then watch it and do it all over again. The way Alex sounds when he says, "Baby", the way Henry stutters out his surprise/relieved "Alex", how Henry's face goes through so many expressions from the moment he takes that phone to the moment he settles in Alex’s arms. I am so amazed at how much of their relationship was coveyed in this 39 seconds of screen time. Countless chapters of them being so strongly in love were somehow beautifully expressed in these short moments. I love them. I love Red, White & Royal Blue and I feel like I can never get enough of it. I will always feel more each time I read or watch it. I will notice things differently and deeper. I'm so glad that Henry and Alex had someone to open their arms and run to, that of all the people on the planet, they got to meet and be the love of one another’s lives.

Sometimes I'm amazed that this exists. And grateful Matthew waited until he found the right Alex in Taylor, for Nick's Henry, because I cannot imagine we would have anything close to this without them.

There are a lot of moments that Henry and Alex are so incredibly sexy in the film and the novel, but this one is a major favorite for me. The way this whole scene was set up led to this beautiful overall feeling of discovery for them both. The careful gentleness that Alex touches Henry makes this even sexier and as these small little touches tend to do, it makes their emotional intimate relationship be right there on screen. There's a vulnerability to the way Henry stands and lets Alex decide how to touch him, too. Confidence, honesty, vulnerability, trust, and care, that is sexy.

This is more than six/seven sentences, but we can pretend it fits the definition of Six Sentence Sunday.

A snippet from Praise & Supplication, a Firstprince fic WIP that originated with this smut drabble.

“Does that turn you on, darling? To think about how good you are for me, how well you listen when you’re spread out beneath me?” Henry coos as he coaxes Alex’s legs open further.

Alex feels a hot flush spread across his face, but there is no shame or embarrassment behind it. Doing his best for Henry, giving him everything, being his everything…nothing makes Alex feel headier than this.

Henry brings two fingers to Alex’s lips and gently presses between them. “Suck”, he says in an even, deep tone. Alex eagerly runs his tongue over the two digits, the press of them causing spit to pool in his mouth. A bit of drool trickles down his chin, and Henry leans forward to slowly lick it up.

Alex moans loudly around his fingers as the two hold steady eye contact. Henry’s pupils are blown wide with lust, admiration, and a tinge of something darker. Something that only Alex would ever revel in.
