it’s such bullshit that men get to proliferate the lie that they like sex more than women and then get mad about it like it’s that being female means naturally having a lower libido and not that having to do the overwhelming majority of domestic labor including child rearing (for married/cohabiting women and/or mothers) and the fact that most men are mediocre to terrible in bed with bad hygiene would kill anybody’s libido….

Propaganda time! I get that people like doctor who but River Song BARELY qualifies as a femme fatale! Sure sure she's destined to murder the Doctor or whatever it is that happened there but NOTHING about her presentation in the show--ESPECIALLY her introduction--is in the femme fatale style! The essence of the femme fatale is that 1) she'll ruin you 2) you KNOW this and 3) you get involved anyway. River Song does NOT check all these boxes.

Meanwhile Brigid O'Shaughnessy introduces herself with a false identity and immediately gets the main character's friend murdered as part of an elaborate scheme to frame somebody else for murder and even knowing that she did all this he can't resist her charm! She's the MOST iconic femme fatale in film history but she's losing because there are more whovians than film buffs on tumblr, and that's a terrible shame! Brigid deserves to win.

You guys rlly don't realise how much knowledge is still not committed to the internet. I find books all the time with stuff that is impossible to find through a search engine- most people do not put their magnum opus research online for free and the more niche a skill is the less likely you are to have people who will leak those books online. (Nevermind all the books written prior to the internet that have knowledge that is not considered "relevant" enough to digitise).

Whenever people say that we r growing up with all the world's knowledge at our fingertips...it's not necessarily true. Is the amount of knowledge online potentially infinite? Yes. Is it all knowledge? No. You will be surprised at the niche things you can discover at a local archive or library.
