Introduction
We are p-shifting confessions. We are just like your other confession blogs, except it handles p-shifters and of the like.
We will not post anything other than these confessions, and perhaps a few other things.
Please only use ANON to send us confessions. This will keep you safe, and we will not post your confession if it isn't.
Share your stories, ideas, thoughts, anything you might be afraid to say on your own blog. All with good intentions are safe here!
If you are clinical, sensitive to p-shifting, or triggered by it, *please block this blog.*
FAQ below cut.
Thanks for reading the intro, and happy confessing!
Can they teach me to p-shift?
Hell nah. That's personal to you, and you can only figure that out. Please do not message us for this, we will delete it and block you.
How do I put in a confession?
Set it to anon first of all! Then begin your confession with "p-shifting/p-shifter culture is..." and then say whatever you would like to say! Please, only send things related to your nonhumanity/p-shifting.
What isnt okay to send in?
Hate, methods, asking how to p-shift, misanthropy with action that is going to be behind it (harming other humans, etc.), self harm (we are triggered by it), discourse of any sort from the past / present within the community, your opinion on how horrible p-shifting is, and images of any type. All of these will be deleted, along with if your ask isn't anon.
Why does this blog exist?
Well, we just felt like making a blog to allow others to share p-shifting confessions. There's a lot of stigma around p-shifters, and we hope that seeing a glimpse into our lives can help dissolve the hate and witchhunting.
Does this enable abusive p-shifters?
Of course not. This is a positivity blog for p-shifters, and we only allow people with good intentions to be here / share their experiences. We do not allow or think that people who claim to be p-shifters AND are using this to abuse/manipulate others should be given a safe place. We will not teach p-shifting. Do not expect us to allow others looking to become p-shifters to enable them. Being a p-shifter is incredibly personal and cannot be taught. We fiercely believe in learning your own path and abandoning the idea that there is a set method that works for everyone to shift to. As always, every community has abusive, or manipulative people, but not every single person in that community is abusive.
Do they support _______ ?
We prefer to stay out of the discourse that exists anywhere on the internet. Our opinions on the matters outside of this blog do not matter to this blog, please do not ask us to if we are pro or anti of anything.
Obviously, this is a support page for p-shifters. That is all that is required for you to know, and they will not cover any other topics that don't relate to p-shifting.
Tags?
#P-shift culture is: Informational to cover more on what p-shifting is or might mean.
#_____ confession: ID number for each confession. Uses the word, not the letter. (Ex. first, second, etc.)
#P-shift(ing/er) culture is: Usually just identifies what the ask started with.
(More may be added as we may see fit.)
Who runs this blog?
One person only, who goes by 🐌🐾. They use we/they/it pronouns. They are a feline p-shifter. We may consider allowing others to join the team, but for now one person is sufficient.
We are not plural, nor endo. We simply prefer these pronouns.

So yes, im coming up on the end of my detox. During this time, ive actually learned a LOT because simply, im not glued to my phone 24/7.
Society pushes this idea that we NEED phones. That without your portable dopamine box you arent cool, or normal, or whatever the hell they choose to say.
Ive found clarity in my life. Ive focused more on my witchcraft and learning the craft itself. Ive danced in the rain and felt the rhythm of the earth, its heart beating beneath my feet. Ive started to learn Finnish even better than before, and my studies on homework have become so much easier because im not as distracted.
If it was up to me, i would never go back to being glued to my dopamine box. But...
If anyone who is following me and knows of my Amino, Ive been gone from it for awhile now. I worry that certain rules arent being enforced, or its becoming a hateful place. I left it in the hands of my staff, of course, but i still worry...
But regardless, Ill see if I can get an app that allows me to run mobile apps on my computer. I dont want to go back to using my phone unless i have to.
(Keep reading if you wanna see what I have to say about shapeshifting and stuff. I dont want this post to be eons of scrolling to those who dont want to read about it.)
Now, onto the important stuff that people might be asking me.
"Rio, did you fully m-shift and achieve your goals of shifting???" Well... no. Sadly.
Life has been really hectic, so Ive been focusing on the important, human stuff in my life, and have been struggling with balancing the important, animal stuff in my life. Im not going to lie, its easier to do now than it was before, but I still have to put effort into it.
With p-shifting, well... recently Ive been reading a lot of hate on p-shifting in general, how its wrong, how much actual stigma surrounds it, and im in a ditch when it comes to believing it will actually happen. Ive watered down my beliefs so many times for others online recently, that im questioning that they are true.
I know that they arent true. But, I know for a fact that even if I never p-shift, I will still be happy being who I am. Its a constant itch, and constant scratch to be who I really am, but I honestly believe that even if I never do p-shift, I will never stop being here, being a shifter and being happy.
In the end thats all its really about, seriously. Arent we just trying to be happy with ourselves, our identity, our lives? It hurts to even go a step outside of the shifting community, and see hours and hours of people talking about how horrible it is, how manipulative, how impossible it is. It makes me want to hide again in my little bubble and forget I ever saw it.
But it brings a sort of... clarity I guess? Many people who have never been apart of the community or have even ventured in will say "its impossible to do".
People who have been hurt, or have seen the hurt caused by misinformation and misguidance of shapeshifting will almost always say "p-shifting is manipulative, horrible, the people within it are blah blah blah blah blah...."
People who are apart of it but havent p-shifted will say "Ive seen so many success stories, Ive even seen my own progress with it and im really happy" And people who have shifted... well they either disappear quite quickly, or their stories are lost to deaf ears.
And after years and years of feeling like I have to fight against these people, show how I am, show the truth and understand it all... I feel domesticated by the reality that is always, constantly shoved in my face.
Nobody cares. Im trapped within society and I cant escape. I will never be free. I will never, ever be my animal. I am delusional for even believing it.
vitut.
I know that currently in my life, I am where I am. I cannot change it, because I am not old enough to. I know that I have and must make do with what I have, instead of wishing for things I do not have. Cougars are adaptable, we are survivors and change with our enviornment.
There will ALWAYS be time to be who I am. There will always be chance after chance after chance for me, I just have to grab it.
And ive noticed that I no longer have to force every single m-shift. It feels like just thinking about it, about mountain lions causes a shift. Ive gotten so comfortable in my living situation ive been vocalizing as my animal, jumping around on all fours and feeling like my animal.
Sometimes I worry that Ive become so obsessed with trying to m-shift that Ive forgotten that theres still more beyond it. While writing this post, I feel... excited for my future. I feel like p-shifting can happen to me. I feel like I am almost close to permanently m-shifting.
And let me tell you a little secret about m-shifting.
(There is no trigger for when you permanently m-shift. There is no way to actually know by just reading what others say it feels like. There is no actual way to do it.)
Permanently m-shifting to me, simply feels like a comfortableness with my animal. It feels safe, and okay to be who I am. And personally for me, after years of m-shifting, trust is what has brought me to where I am. (This might not be the case for everyone lol, figure out whats going on with yourself instead of using what I say to be the end all for you and your problems!) I was honestly afraid of my other side. That it was dangerous, wild, would hurt someone. I was also afraid that I would never actually get here and do this, because my mental shifts arent as strong or frequent as others. I was also afraid that it wouldnt work. So, so afraid that I would mess up and fail.
But I've learnt that... I am in control of myself. And being an animal IS myself. I have the control to be safe, and not harm others. We all do. Its an idea that has been presented to us through media, stigma, ableism and society itself. We always talk of people "losing control" or "flying off the handle". Werewolves are seen as beings who will rip your face off if they get mad.
We arent like that, you know that, right? I had to trust that I would be in control of my m-shifts. And even if my control has slipped, (such as when I had an m-flare in the middle of gym class) I was able to quickly recover because it wasnt appropriate at school to start running on all fours and hiding beneath the bleachers.
Ive also learnt that no, you cannot fail while m-shifting. There is no right or wrong way to m-shift. There is no way to fail an m-shift. M-shifting is just allowing yourself to be more animal-like, allowing your animal to be safe and comfortable with itself. Its complicated to explain the connection between our animal selves, and our human selves, but the most basic (not too accurate) way to explain it is that we are each other. You are your animal, and your animal is you. As you m-shift more this makes more sense, and you find your own meaning to what your connection, and your animal's connection is.
Regardless, even if I took breaks. Even if I wasnt dedicated, or spent all of my time m-shifting. I still am getting closer. What matters is the fact that you still care about it, and will do it when you can. Its unrealistic to believe someone could constantly be m-shifting actively, most circumstances make it very hard to do so. (Especially mine. I have divorced houses, 2 AP classes im taking, problematic siblings, responsibilities...)
It feels like learning a new language in a sense. Like, to m-shift is to constantly m-shift. To learn a new language is to constantly immerse yourself in it. Well... we cant really do that, so instead we go with short bursts of doing this, with interspersed passive learning, or attempting to m-shift when we can.
And nobody is barred from m-shifting. Let me let you know. NOBODY IS BARRED FROM M-SHIFTING!! Some people I know feel stuck, like they cannot m-shift. That its only involuntary. Listen. Listen listen listen.
There are many different ways to m-shift. So many!! Lots of people say "I cant meditate, and so ill never m-shift." Thats NOT true. Thats not true. I literally cant meditate lol.
And its not really attempting to voluntarily force a shift using triggers and stuff. I just think about it and try to feel more immersed in my senses, allow my perspective of life to shift more animal-like. AND, m-shifts do NOT have to be large, explosive things that change your whole reality and how you think and you want to crawl on all fours and you feel yourself p-shifting and fur-
Nah nah nah. Most shifts people will experience, at least how i know it, will be small, tiny shifts that you most likely wont notice unless you pay attention to it. Even if you arent trying to m-shift in the moment, even thinking about it may cause you to fall into a light shift. You do not need to have very impactful m-shifts to m-shift.
And I wont lie, my friend @dakotathewolf has helped me a lot, even with the endless ramblings on both ends (lol) I feel like we have both grown as people and understand more because of what we have taught each other.
I hope this helps you, dakota, along with anyone else who needs it.

Shifting Safety Tips
I now have enough experience with shifting to make a list on the dangers of the outdoors! This isn't everything you could encounter, but this is a pretty good basics list for anybody wondering about the dangers of being out in nature as a shifter (or even as a human!)
This list isn't supposed to make you anxious or paranoid by any means, but is supposed to warn you about the potential dangers outside and how to handle them. The chances that you'll get lost or stuck out in the wild are small, but it's good to know what to do if something like that were to happen.
▪︎Tell people where you'll be.
Don't go out in secret. You don't have to tell people not in the know, but you shouldn't be sneaking out without telling anybody where you'll be. If something were to happen to you you'd want someone to alert the authorities early and fast, and sneaking out without telling anybody works against you. Tell a shifter friend, tell a human friend you'll be exploring X area, but regardless of who you tell let someone know where you'll be.
▪︎Take note of your surroundings.
When outdoors and in an isolated area, try to make a mental note of where you are and who's around you. Don't tune everything out, especially when you're exploring a new area for the first time. Pay special attention to odd parts of the landscape that stick out - if you get lost you can use these things to help you get back to where you started.
It can help to learn about the native plants and wildlife in your area. You don't need to become an expert (unless you want to) but knowing about what is growing all around you can help you navigate your surroundings with ease. This information can be useful even on quick journeys, and help you identify when you're near dangerous animals, plants or landscapes.
Avoid suspicious individuals. Some people have bad intentions in isolated areas. If someone appears to be acting a little too interested in you for no apparent reason, appears to be coyly following you or seems to be trying to herd or lure you someplace, head back to an area with people and get out of there.
▪︎Carry backup.
It can be dangerous in heavily forested, isolated or wooded areas, especially if you're a visible minority. When traversing these areas you should always have some sort of backup defense or weapon, just in case. This may seem silly, because if you're a shifter shifting should be enough to stop someone... but you don't want to only rely on shifting to protect you. After all, a human can still overtake most animals provided they have the right weapons.
This also goes for tools and necessities. Bring a backup charger for your phone if you're going to be out most of the day. Bring food and snacks if you're trekking somewhere new. Keep a swiss army knife on hand. You don't need to pack like you're going to climb mountains, but you should have the appropriate backup supplies should something go wrong that day.
▪︎When in the forests as a human, wear orange.
Animal hunters (such as trophy and food hunters) often camouflage themselves within the surroundings, which can put you at risk if you're also sneaking around the area. When shifting in a hunter-filled area, wear something orange (whether a collar, bandana, or a vest) so hunters can see you and avoid you. Even if you look like an animal, an orange piece of clothing surrounding you will let them know that you're associated with humans in some way and shouldn't be killed.
You can follow this rule as an animal, but note that it may look odd depending on what you are and where you live - a wolf with orange on won't attract much attention in Canada, but a cheetah might, and may get reported as a possibly escaped exotic pet. Be careful with how you go about this while physically shifted.
▪︎When stuck, call for help.
Got stuck in a trap? Lost and need assistance? If you can, call for help. If you have your phone on hand, use it. If not, call out for someone or wait for someone to come and find you.
When lost you should try to stick to a particular area until help arrives. Don't go wandering off when people could be searching for you- you could be delaying your chances of being found. Make a shelter out of whatever is available to you, and be particular about what you eat, if you eat anything wild. Meat should be properly cleaned and cooked well to reduce the chances of food poisoning or parasites, and you should only eat plants you know for sure won't poison you.
If shifting to catch food, be very careful about how you do it. Remember, animals often get hurt or injured when hunting, so if you must hunt choose weak prey. Try to avoid carrion unless necessary, as that also caries a risk of disease. If you must scavenge, look for something recently killed. If you're grazing, make sure to pick flora that seems healthy - many places that seem clean can be teeming with all sorts of pathogens or human chemicals, and some plants may be toxic to shifters.
If you're not too lost or must wander off, use your animal senses to help you find civilization. Odd, out of place smells or sounds may be indicative of industries or people being nearby. Don't disregard human pollution - if you see more bottles, trash, or discolored water near one place than another, that is a good sign that humans frequent that area, and by following the trash trail you can get back to society.
Lastly, if you are lost don't stress out. Stress can weaken your immune system and ruin your motivation to escape your situation. Don't focus on the negatives, keep a positive attitude and take things one step at a time.
I hope these tips can help any shifters nervous about exploring the outdoors, or wondering how to survive if they need to. Stay safe out there!

Reminder to myself & others that it’s okay if you don’t experience shifts all the time 24/7 or any shifts at all! You’re still validated and a legitimate p-shifter. You don’t need to be nonhuman all the time.
Been struggling with this lately ;-;

community and togetherness are common themes
lots of weird genetic shit - you cannot be "turned" you are "born a shifter," etc
to be clear, these people are not clinical lycanthropes or endelic. they are very vocal about not being delusional. the language listed here is not language clinical lycanthropes and other PIPs use - and if you are a CL or PIP who uses this language, its best to stop otherwise you'll either get grouped in with them by others or they will find you and try to suck you in. there are many p-shifting cult survivors still in alterhuman communities today, who can attest to how dangerous they can be. p-shifting cults prey on vulnerable people, often minors, who are seeking a sense of belonging. there are past accounts of emotional, financial, sexual abuse, and more. p-shifting cults and groups are centered around grooming, and could not exist without it. p-shifting groups are especially dangerous to clinical lycanthropes and other delusional nonhumans.
what is the difference between PIPs/clinical lycanthropes and p-shifting? why is one okay but one isnt?
obligatory please dont harass anyone listed here (or if you do, it's of your own accord) - im making this post so yall can block them and move on. i strongly urge especially clinical lycanthropes and delusional nonhumans to block.
if i've missed anything or you'd like to add to this topic, please do! drop it in the notes, a reblog, or my inbox :0)
hate to be the person to beg for reblogs, but being as this is a safety issue, please consider reblogging if you are alterhuman. thanx ♡!

Werewolves
There’s only one type of werewolf. That is to say, while breeds do exist, there’s no such thing as “lycans”, or any of that. They’re not separate things- a lycanthrope is another word for a werewolf, and vice versa.  Nor do werewolves live as the stereotype suggests. No one loses control on a full moon, goes raging out and destroying houses and buildings, nor is their wolf side a separate part of them.  Additionally, mental shifting is a concept that has been popularized in other communities, but isn’t really relevant to being a were or a shifter. If you are both a wolf and human, or able to switch between the two forms, why would you need a separate mindset for both? How do you know what a wolf thinks like, if you’re not a wolf at the time?  This is not to say that trying out other kinds of shifts can’t help you. But, if you are a were of any sort, the best kind of shift to try out is a physical shift, because mental shifting won’t really do much for you, and/or lead to a physical shift anyway. Is this confusing? The mods will go into detail on this later, so it can be more clearly understood. -Mod R-K2

Upgrades 👀
I have a new site. I ran out of room on carrd! You can only have 50 elements and while I thought I would just pay for more, when faced with that option I realized I really didn't want to, so I decided to just move to wix.
Right now it contains much of the same info the carrd had, but I plan to add more. If you're interested in the Webs Archival Project, I have an ever updating list of sites to be archived on it.

i'm just wondering how real p-shifting is. i really want to be able to do it, but i don't know if it's something that's real, feasible and worth my time working towards, or if it's not.
i guess something that would help is some sort of proof that it's been done before. if it genuinely has, i absolutely want to get going on my own journey.
and i'm not saying it's impossible, but i just want to learn how possible it is and if current methods lead to genuine results. thanks!
OH OKAY, let me help you a bit fellow anon.
Honestly im not sure how exactly to affirm if it's real or not. I've had evidence such as growing fur strands, half shifting in my sleep, and even learning recently that when I was very little I had p-shifted before. That's just me, I've been a shifter for a long time and eventually came to this through WAY TOO MUCH exploring and asking myself hard questions.
Usually though, the best thing I can tell any curious individual is to just... go through the very first step of being a shifter. Its incredibly helpful, and will answer the majority of present questions at the beginning stage. If you want more details on this I will gladly do a follow-up, but currently I still have to collect and get my facts straight about this first step. More developed guides (such as phenexus weyr and even blaze's guide to shifting) will be much more helpful then what i have to say. Perhaps I'll have a guide to give one day too after all of this 💀
I can tell you though to just go for it. Not start p-shifting i mean, you wont be able to do so for a long time if you eventually figure out you are a p-shifter. Its better to know by exploring instead of just never trying because you are afraid of it not being real.
P-shifting is only a tiny part of being a shifter (as I've said over and over again lol) but similar to theirans our identities live on within us our whole lives. It's just keeping a healthy balance of understanding where you are at and that, usually, you might not be a p-shifter at all and that's OKAY.
Sorry I like talking. Perhaps that could help you a bit if you decide to begin your journey.
REGARDLESS.
i would honestly also love good evidence (images, videos, etc.) of p-shifting actually happening because of the methods that exist. (Disclaimer methods aren't "rituals" that are 100% guaranteed to give you results, they are only building blocks to help you develop your own style when you decide to voluntarily shift)
Ive had to realize that 1.) There is a whole community around it, from all walks of life and information, which gathered to give us the information we have today because they all experienced similar things too. 2.) time and time again there have been stories, from history all the way to now, where people have shifted into creatures and animals constantly. 3.) In truth you find your own evidence eventually, within yourself weirdly enough.
I can't speak for everyone (hell naw) but for me I eventually came to a point where i no longer needed to see from others that p-shifting was real, I knew it was real through my own evidence and experiences. Shifting involves a lot about connecting the dots tbh, sometimes it can take a hot minute to make the right dots connect.
If there is physical evidence out there, nowadays it's so incredibly targeted and never given a chance to believe. Like, honestly, tech is so good nowadays there is no way actual physical evidence could exist within the community anymore.
What im basically trying to say is that although physical evidence can help, at the end of the day you have to find it within yourself to see as true. Nobody can really convince you to believe otherwise 🤷
Thank you for sending the anon, and if you read this and want any more help or expansion on anything, please let me know and I'll be happy to expand. I'll probably stick around for a little longer to answer anything else anyone may want to ask.

Note
P shifter culture is not wanting to give disclaimers about being endel every time i talk about transforming even if externally that s what we are to people but being too afraid of being guillotined and labeled as evil or incapable of discernment due to what psychiatric labels are given to us.
It's wanting to use the p shifter label but being too averse to conflict to express yourself with what label you want.

So this is surprisingly relevant...
It's late and I should be sleeping, but I was working on something shifter-related, and found this from my old archives of shifter sites:
It is surprisingly relevant to the "what does p-shifting mean/what are p-shifters" discussion that occured a while back, despite being more than a decade old at this point.
Notable passage:
"All shifts can be placed in one of two categories: physical or nonphysical. Nonphysical shifts have only nonphysical side effects and symptoms, such as picking up a wolf's habits and intincts. Physical shifts usually have nonphysical aspects as well, but they have at least some degree of physical change or being in the physical body of an animal. This can range from something as minor as eye color changes to a partial or full bodily change into an animal form, and it would also include the rare ability of leaving your body to possess a real animal's body.[...]
Physical shifting is one of the most widely talked about types of shift. After all, it is the original model for what a werewolf is: a person who transforms physically into a wolf. It is also the hope and dream of many shifters. Even those who don't believe in it wish it were true. It is not only one of the rarest, but also the most controversial type of shift. Arguments on this topic can become unusually bitter, and there is no surer way to stir up shifters and create a lot of enemies as well as rabid admirers than to show up and start handing out teachings about physical shifting. About half of all shifters believe in physical shifting, to a greater or lesser extent, and about 5% believe they have experienced one or more physical shifts. Information on physical shifting is hard to track down.
Some people divide physical shifting into several different types. Just about everyone lists possession of a real animal's body as a distinct type of physical shift than the main type. There are also some other ideas related to ways to physically shift through out-of-body travel (such as somehow creating a separate animal body) that are generally listed as distinct types of physical shift. The main type of physical shift, the physical transformation of your own body, is also often divided into more than one type. One way of division is based on degree of shift: the body can change in very minor ways (such as eye color) or in more extreme but still partial ways (such as growing an entire coat of fur) or completely, to the extent that the end result looks just like a real animal. Some people give different names to each of these types. Another way of division is based on the speed of the change. Reports of physical shifting (both from folklore and from modern shifters) say that it can happen so fast that it is complete in just a few moments, or so gradually that it may take half an hour to complete, or any speed in between. Some people divide the different speeds of physical shift into different types and give them separate names.
The terminology of physical shifting is odd in a number of ways. Some people will refer to themselves as "physical shifters" because they experienced an eye color change but never anything more, something that hardly seems to qualify for the label of "physical shift". A rare few people will apply the label "physical shifter" to themselves because they mananaged to produce a physical (but certainly not supernatural) change during a mental shift, such as a change in body temperature or blood pressure. For reasons like this, it is always wise to ask people "what do you mean by a physical shift?".
One more detail about the terminology of physical shifting seems pretty ridiculous. It is fairly common for people belonging to a certain category of shifters to be referred to as "physical shifters" by others (or even to apply this label to themselves) even though they don't experience any type of physical shift. This category consists of those people who have very odd physical characteristics reminiscent of animals. I do not mean people who shift into this form, but people who were born with these characteristics and have them permanently- normal people may refer to these individuals as anything from "odd looking" to "deformed". There aren't very many of them, and they obviously aren't physical shifters, but for some reason the term "physical shifter" seems to stick to them. Therefore, if you hear that someone is a "physical shifter" don't automatically assume that they claim to experience physical shifts- it might simply be that the label has been misapplied to them.
By the way (a lot of people have been asking) yes it is possible to be in more than one of these categories at once (i.e. to be both a MSer and PSer, or both a MSer and DSer) in fact it is most common to be in more than one category at once. I suppose it is even possible to be in all four categories at once. It is also possible to move from one category to another (i.e. to start out as a dream shifter and then become a mental shifter)."

Shifter pride flag. You're welcome lol
I got the idea for it after wishing there was a way to find other shifters like other communities have. Then I remembered pride flags exist, and they're so ubiquitous (I've seen them for communities that aren't LGBT+) that nobody would bat an eye if a shapeshifter used them in their profiles. So here, a shifter pride flag.
Any shifter can use it! For flag usage, I define a (shape)shifter as: a person who can alter their physical body and/or reality so that they resemble another creature or entity not of their original form. This change may be partial or full, may involve slight physiological changes all the way up to actual genetic alteration, and may include changes to one's surrounding environment as well as their physical body. It sounds convoluted but I defined it this way in order to be inclusive of supernatural shifters like the faoladh and benadanti, who did not physically transform their human bodies but still took on another form and/or shifted in another realm. I am also being inclusive of shifters who claim other origins for their shifting abilities, or who feel that shifting may or may not involve the genetics of other species. I am also being inclusive of any and all forms of shifters, as shifters historically came in a variety of forms and had different ways of acquiring said forms.
Color meanings below!
Black: The cover of darkness is when most shifters choose to change. Black here represents the secrecy associated with shifting and being a shifter. Soft White: The moon has long been associated with werewolves and other supernaturals, and this stripe touches upon the mythology surrounding werewolves, supernaturals and the moon. Magenta: A typical color used to represent the unknown, magenta shows the penchant for the supernatural many shifters have. Dark Red: Known for its association with blood, dark red here represents the human body, and the mortal nature of most shifters. Green: Nature and natural colors. This represents a shifter's connection to the outside and animal world, and their baser instincts.
You're more than welcome to throw your species or any other symbols on this flag and use it for personal use. You don't have to credit me, though it would be appreciated! Link back to this post if someone wants the full background behind how this came about!

Lol please don't mistake me for being part of First Family Pack or as someone looking to "turn" or convert others. I have no affiliations (past or present) with the pack, and I strongly condemn (and call out) most people who try to claim they can turn others.
...
Much of the shifter community holds to genetic ideas of shifters because we know genes and heredity exist. Magic and spirituality are not scientifically verified, and we know it's not a virus because everyone would be able to shift if that were the case. It is also extremely dangerous to imply someone can become a shifter, because then we have people getting into dangerous cult situations similar to the ones everyone worries about.
However, I 100% agree with the message towards delusional alterhumans. If you experience clinical delusions or mental illness of the lycanthropic kind, please avoid seeking out companionship in the shifter community. What shifters can do you cannot, and you're likely to get yourselves hurt.

Shiftober 2022!
Tumblr media
It's October, and I wanted to do something fun for the shifter community. This is Shiftober - kinda like Inktober, but with more liberties being taken as to what you can do. Draw or write out your experiences or feelings on the above, with or without your shifted form playing a part. Be as creative as you want with it - you can even discard my suggestions and go in a completely different direction with it. Have fun, all shifters are welcome to participate!

🏳️‍🌈🐺🏳️‍🌈🐺🏳️‍🌈
(I can’t believe pride month is nearly over and I did not make a post about this, but better late than never)
In modern werewolf media wolves and other shifters are stereotyped as being big, alpha-beta-omega types that always want to reproduce and go after the opposite sex. In reality, the shifter community is the opposite of that!
Tumblr media
Most of us are just typical people, and there are many shifters out there who are family people and don’t express toxic “”alpha male” values. Additionally, many shifters are not limited in what identities they can have or what sexualities they can present with, and many have identities that diverge from the straight cis stereotype.  There are gay shifters There are lesbian shifters There are bi shifters There are pan shifters There are asexual shifters There are nonbinary shifters There are trans shifters
...and many more! If a human can have it as an LGBT+ identity, so can shifters. Anecdotally, we’ve heard many shifters are also some flavor of lgbt+/queer, and it’s common to encounter other lgbt+/queer shifters within the online community. Don’t let fictional media give you the impression that shifters are always straight cis people, there are many of us LGBT+ here.
