Oy Walt,
Truth Serum/Spell with Vaxleth, please? That should be fun, right?
Somehow I know you will find a way to hurt us :)
60. Truth Serum/spell
If there's one thing Vox Machina loves, it's drinking. If there are two things Vox Machina loves, it's drinking and games. If there are three things Vox Machina loves, it's drinking and games and inappropriate uses of magic.
Which is how they all bully Pike, face red and eyes hazy, into casting zone of truth, thereby initiating an instantly intense game of truth or drink. As per the rules, everyone allows the magic to wash over them, and the vulnerability begins.
They draw straws, and Scanlan wins. Pointing a finger at Grog, he demands, "How big is your dick really?"
Grog pouts. "Not fair. You know I ain't good with numbers."
"Compare it to another object!"
Grog's face scrunches up as he thinks way too hard for way too long. Finally he settles on, "Percy's forearm."
The table erupts in gasps and swears. "Wait wait wait," Vex hiccups, swaying slightly. "Is that just length, or girth too?"
"No, it's my turn to ask!" Grog hums a little as he thinks. "Percy..."
"Oh gods," the man in question mutters, his cheeks already tinged pink.
"You ever go to one of the lady houses in Whitestone?"
"I've been to several ladies' houses in Whitestone, Grog." He smiles smugly at having successfully sidestepped the question.
"BOO!" Keyleth tosses a handful of bar pretzels at him. "Answer the question!"
"I do believe it's my turn now." He ignores the disappointed grumbling and levels his eyes at Keyleth, who shrinks in fear of what's coming her way. "Vax."
Oh.
Vax's head is tipped on Keyleth's shoulder, and she's pretty sure he's already half-asleep. "Hm?"
Percy maintains the most deadly eye contact with Keyleth as he asks, "Where do you see yourself in five years?"
Vax hums thoughtfully. "Well, dead, most likely—"
"Fucking hell," Vex groans.
"—but if not that, then...mmm...living in Zephrah with Keyleth and our babies."
Keyleth's face instantly goes up in flames. She buries her nose in her tankard, utterly unable to make eye contact with any of her friends, who are either gagging or making the most obnoxious kissy noises. She nearly chokes on her mead when Vax asks, "Kiki?"
"Hm?" she squeaks.
"Does that scare you?"
Oh, fuck this game. She feels six pairs of eyes boring into her, but the only one she sees are his, large and dark like a cow's, his head twisted up to her with an expression so tender she wonders if he's real. "No," she whispers, "but that's what scares me."
And he grins a stupid, drunk, sloppy grin, so very satisfied with himself, and Keyleth rips her eyes away to throw whatever stupid question at Pike she can think of, anything to get the eyes off of her. As Pike thinks about what animal she'd want to be turned into for the rest of her life, Keyleth sneaks another peek back at Vax, who's still smiling like the cat who got the cream—and okay, maybe they both did, she thinks as she winds her fingers in his beneath the table, tipping her cheek onto the crown of his head with a sigh.

Hi!!! "Kissing so many times, to the point where they lose track of how many times they’ve kissed already." From the sweet and intimate actions prompt list, with Vaxleth? :D
sweet and intimate actions which make me go feral and have me folding like a folding chair this ask takes place in the same universe as this
The sun beams warm the air that constantly swirls throughout Zephrah, the gentle breeze swimming its way through the open windows of Keyleth and Vax’s home in the center of the village. The Voice of the Tempest can see the pink blooms of the cherry blossom tree from where she sits in the kitchen, futzing with some flowers that she just trimmed from one of the window boxes, and she smiles as she watches a few kids run around the massive tree and play.
“Hey, Mama?” There’s a little grunt as a pudgy half-elf no older than five with a mop of dark hair and deep brown eyes the size of saucers pulls himself onto a chair at the kitchen table across from his mother.
“Yes, Carric?” She lifts her eyes to smile at her son, still holding onto a flower in her fingers but pausing any movement.
“How many times have you and Daddy kissed?”
Keyleth’s eyes widen to match the size of her son’s; while his are filled with curiosity, hers are rattled with surprise. Her freckled cheeks darken and soon she’s laughing, raising a hand to cover her mouth as the other puts the flower down. “What makes you ask that?”
“I just wanna know.”
“You just want to know?”
Carric nods, his bangs bopping against his forehead.
Keyleth sits back in her chair as the surprise fades, and she gives a little shrug. “I don’t think I can put a number to it. There have been so many.”
“Please? Is it more than six hundred?”
“Oh, I don’t know. Where did you get six hundred from?”
Carric’s eyes move away from Keyleth and he starts to chew on his bottom lip, something he tends to do when he’s thinking. “Do you think it’s more?”
“Carric, what is–”
“Lyla said her mommies have kissed six hundred times and I said you and Daddy have kissed more. She didn’t believe me.”
And there it is. Carric is too young to start school, but there are get-togethers for parents and their younger kids quite often, allowing the little ones to mingle and learn how to socialize with others their own age. Lyla is one of the first friends Carric has made, a tiny Hafling girl with a lot of spirit and the sweetest parents.
“Why were you guys talking about kiss–you know what, it doesn’t matter.”
Carric’s eyes trail back to his mother, lower lip still between his teeth. “Is it bad?”
“No!” Keyleth reaches over, grabs Carric under the arms, and pulls him into her lap. “No, it’s not bad. You’re allowed to talk about kissing. Kissing is nice when it’s with people you love.” She kisses him on the cheek. “See?”
Carric giggles, and for a moment is distracted, but he tilts his head back to look up at Keyleth as soon as the giggles fade. “So if it’s good you’ve done it a lot, right?”
With a smile, Keyleth gives a slow nod. “Yes, Dad and I kiss a lot. I really don’t know how many times we’ve kissed, Snowdrop. I’m surprised Lyla knows.”
“Do you think Daddy might know?”
“There’s one way to find out. Hey, Vax!”
There’s a muffled sound of a chair pushing against the wood floor before the telltale thumps of Vax making his way down the spiral stairs cut into a tree trunk that laces through their home.
“You rang?” Vax’s eyes light up at the sight of his wife and child, and he leans down to kiss them both on the head.
“Daddy, do you know how many times you and Mommy have kissed?”
Vax’s brow raises, and he leans back against the kitchen island. “Ever?”
Carric nods enthusiastically and Vax lifts his head as if the answer is on the ceiling. “Hmm.” He chews on his bottom lip, mirroring his child from moments before, before he smiles, looks at the both of them, and leans in to give Keyleth a sweet little peck. “Three thousand two-hundred and ninety-six.”
“What?”
“Yeah!”
Keyleth’s burst of surprise and Carric’s burst of success overlap each other, and the toddler wriggles out of his mom’s arms to dance between his parents.
“I knew it! That’s so many!”
Keyleth stares at Vax, brows furrowed so much that there’s a nice trench forming at the top of her nose. “Is that the actual number?"
Vax simply smiles and kisses her again. “No, seriously, is that the real number, because if you’ve been counting this whole time that’s–” She can’t quite come up with the word–or perhaps she doesn’t want to call her husband a psychopath in front of their child–so instead Keyleth just laughs, and Vax just shrugs.
“For a long time I thought I’d have a limited amount of them.” Vax’s voice was quiet, hoping Carric’s celebrations would swallow his explanation. “I think there’s a part of me that hasn’t let go of that fear.”
Keyleth’s chest constricts and she reaches up, pulling Vax to her for another kiss. “They’re not going anywhere. I’m not going anywhere. And neither are you.”
Vax smiles at Keyleth, his wife, and tilts his chin to kiss her again. "I'm sure one day I'll lose count."
She kisses him. "Oh, I'm going to make sure of it."

Heey! Have you done 26. "Helping them build their confidence before an important meeting"? If not, may I request Vaxleth? Thank you :D
Hi Raven! Thank you very much for the prompt! I hope I did it justice! These two cuties are becoming one of my favorite ships to write for!
(A/N: This story is part of an AU I'm calling the Vax Lives verse, where Scanlan manages to use his wish spell to prevent the RQ from taking Vax at the end of C1. He and Keyleth are now happily married and are living in Zephrah.
Also, There is a trigger warning on this one for a mention of a miscarriage. No graphic detail is given, but it is mentioned. Feel free to skip this one if you need to.)
“Breathe,” Vax gently took Keyleth’s hand. “Breathe with me.” She squeezed it heavily, which hurt a little, but he didn’t care. “Everything’s okay.” He gently casts Lay on Hands to try and get rid of the sick feeling in her gut.
It must have worked because Keyleth finally took a breath, and then she leaned forward and rested her forehead against his shoulder. “Ugh. This sucks.”
He let go of her hand to rub her back, ignoring the smell of sickness in the air. He hated this too. He hated when she was sick. But this… this was something that she couldn’t avoid. She just had to endure it, and he vowed to be right there with her doing whatever he could to help her feel better.
“I know, love. Just a few more months, and hopefully, things will settle.” He kissed her hair and continued to rub her back.
“We are late. I hope Dad isn’t going to be too upset.” Keyleth said, her words still muffled into his shoulder.
Vax chuckled. “Considering the whole point of us having dinner is to tell him you are pregnant, I hope not.”
Keyleth signed and pulled away. “Is it too soon? I don’t want to get his hopes up.”
Vax’s smile faded and he gently pulled her with him into the window seat of their bedroom and sat her in his lap to hold her close. He put his hand on her belly. He could barely feel the bump where their child was slowly growing. Everything seemed fine so far, but so had the other pregnancy.  His memories went to the child they had lost before, and he said a prayer for them. He knew that miscarriages happen sometimes, but that knowledge didn’t take away the pain.
“That’s up to you, Kiki. I support you, and if you don't want to tell him yet then we won't.”
Keyleth sighed. “It seems stupid, but I’m worried that he’s going to be disappointed.”
“Why?” Vax asked softly, gently running his fingers through her short red hair.”Disappointed that we lost a child, or disappointed that we tried again so soon?” He was a bit confused.
“I don’t know,” Keyleth replied softly. She hesitated for a moment, gathering her thoughts, and then continued. “Maybe it’s just me, and I’m projecting.” She sighed. “I’m just excited, worried, hopeful, and scared all at the same time and I don’t know how to feel.
Vax nodded his head, understanding all of that as well. He gently kissed the back of her neck and held her just a little bit tighter.
“Well, the only way to find out is to tell him and see what he says. And for the record, I feel the same way, love. I’m worried about you and the baby, but yet I’m so excited that I could shout. I don’t want this one to end in disappointment and sadness, but some things are out of our control or understanding. No matter what I will be right here by your side, loving you through it all for as long as I can.”
Keyleth turned slightly to kiss him on the lips; then, she hugged him. “I love you. How do always know what to say to make me feel better?”
He grinned and gently teased her bottom lip between his before letting go. “Because I know you and I love you. I’ve devoted the rest of my days to making you happy. It’s my one goal in life.”
Keyleth found herself blushing even after the years they had shared. “Such a poet, my love. Careful, you will make Scanlan jealous.”
They shared a laugh, and then, after a few moments of resting, Keyleth stood up. She turned and held out her hand to Vax. “Well, I’m ready. Thank you.”
Vax allowed her to help him up, and then he squeezed her hand before letting go. “No thanks needed, Kiki.” He nudged her hip gently with hers. “It’s my honor, truly.”
She nudged him back. She bent down to reach for her bag, but Vax grabbed it first.
“Hey.”
“This is my honor too. It’s part of my duties as a husband. I’m the official bag carrier.”
Keyleth snorted. “Dork.” Then she put her arm in his, and together they made their way towards her father’s cottage.

For the D&D ask, 1, 22 and 51? :D
why did they choose their class(es)? their subclass(es)
Answered for Eos!
Mairen I picked cleric because the rest of the party was a barbarian (wild magic barbarian/fey patron warlock, now) and a rogue (archived UA subclass Revived, changed to Phantom at a key character moment). I chose Life specifically because it seemed like the healingiest subclass and that was her Whole Deal. She never chose to be cleric at all, as she would swiftly remind you.
22. what is a promise they’ve broken?
I guess Mairen broke her promise to herself that she'd fuck right off back to the woods at the earliest opportunity; she's pretty attached to her boys now and doesn't really want to go back to being alone.
Eos truly would not remember what promises they have made in order to tell you if they've broken them.
51. what is the most beautiful thing in the world, for them?
Mairen - A quiet forest at night.
Eos - The open horizon ahead of them.

Hi! May I ask fighter and rogue for the cr ask game? ^_^
rogue: what was a moment that made you cry The first time cr made me cry was when Vax went down during the fight with the Briarwoods at the castle. When Liam made the speech about Keyleth walking beautiful amongst the trees and seeing Vex with their mother when they were young I just started fully sobbing lol. I lost my mom to cancer about a year before I got into cr and then when I found out Liam had gone through the same thing and saw how deeply it affected his journey as Vax I was like oh. The twins and Keyleth were already my faves but I cannot explain how deeply that hit me
fighter: what was your favorite funny moment Maybe this is just on my mind bc it was recent but god, when Laura hit her head on the table and then Sam hit his teeth on the table… the fucking chaos of that whole episode. Ashley doing a full spittake right before. True last day of school before summer energy. Impeccable. Love these nerds lol

I know you're like an OG because I remember seeing questions from you on Talks, but I'm not sure how far back and I'm curious, so can I have dragonborn? Oh and Cleric?
Ask Game
Dragonborn: When did I start watching?
I’ve been there since 2015, first started watching live with Campaign 1, Episode 15 because I showed interest in the show, and Matt actually replied to a tweet of mine about it. And from there, the rest is history.
Cleric: Favorite battle?
Depends on the campaign.
Campaign 1: The Killbox, duh.
Campaign 2: The Chantry of the Dawn.
EXU: …still unsure yet.
Campaign 3: …still unsure yet.
@ravendruid Hope these answers are satisfactory.

Dreams
PROMPT: #47“Were you dreaming about me again?”
PAIRING: Keyleth X Vax'ildan (VOX MACHINA)
WARNINGS: Fluff with suggestive themes
Thank you @ravendruid for helping me pick a random prompt to start off this little experiment!!
The Experiment: Me being me, I cannot just exist being in one single fandom. But I feel bad writing only one fandom because at the moment that is what my little, broken heart wants. So for a little bit, I am challenging myself by having a prompt that I write for 1 fandom... and only changing it slightly to then make it work into another.
Will it work? Probably not.
Will I get bored of doing this? Most likely.
Will I still try? Fuck yes.
Tumblr media
Her legs began quaking, a shiver running down her spine as she awoke from a deep slumber sitting up straight with a heavy pant. The sheets beneath where she had laid are damp from the sweat beading down the back of her neck, re hairs slickened to her skin.
The door to the cabin squealed as the door carefully opened. The smell of fresh tea wafted through her senses, calming the rush of fear and adrenaline that had woken her up.
Vax greeted her with a mischievous grin, the mug in his hand steaming against the perfect bone structure of his features as he peered back to the red head.
“Were you dreaming about me again?” Vax had yet to read the room, especially the woman before him. He had heard her moans as he was getting ready to start a fire. Not wanting to wake his lady from a wet dream, he decided to fix her a perfect cup of her favorite tea for when she awoke instead.
He hadn’t know about what happened after he left the small, wooden cabin. Her moans turned into cries. Her breathing faultered and her body shook in agony as she lived out her perfect nightmare.
It seemed so real.
It felt so real.
Keyleth gave a tired smile. Her eyes searched the room, grounding herself back into reality. Vax didn’t miss this, seeing a single bead of moisture fall from her brow, he rushed over to her side. His hands caressing her own as his warmth helped ease her nightmare further and further. With him there, she was safe.
She was safe.
Vax pulled her into his chest, his arms wrapping around her frame tight. She could feel his heart beating against her skin and his breath tickling the still slick skin of her expose neck. Her head layed in the crook of his own where she could inhale his musty scent, something that would easily turn her off with any other man, but with him is was inviting.
His hands kept her in place for a while, both sitting in silence wrappe in eachother’s arms, legs, and anything else they could possibly touch. When her breathing regulated and her mind shook off the pain of what she had seen and felt, Keyleth whispered into the soft skin of Vax’ildan’s neck.
“I would have rathered to be dreaming about you.”
His body shook with a chuckle. Moving his hands slowly down her back, one landed on the exposed skin just above her green panties. His fingertips ghosting the edge of the lace. Feeling her warm skin raise into goosebumps beneath his touch.
“I would have rather you had dreaming of me too,” His voice began to turn more rugged. Keyleth didn’t have to see his face to know that Vax’s pupils were beginning to dilate or know he had that mischievous little grin on his lips. She swallowed hard, hiding her own nervous giggle.
“But I would rather act out that dream instead if I’m being honest.”

I was tagged by @lumiereandcogsworth to do an ao3 wrapped for 2023! thank you so much, lumi!
works published: 24
word count: 322,730
bookmarks: 2,159
shortest fic: finally home (438 words)
longest fic: Red Lights (42,075 words)
most popular by kudos: late at night
most popular by hits: same as above, seriously yall, I wrote that fic in ten minutes why is it the most popular lmaooo
most popular by comments: still same as above and it honestly hurts my feelings even though I appreciate the love lmaoooo
fic that made me smile: oh my god literally anything that @waltwhitmansbeard wrote, I'm obsessed with her writing.
overall thoughts:
This year I posted so many fics that I really worked hard on and absolutely loved and looking back on them reminds me of those times in my life. When I reread my own fics, I can so clearly remember what was happening in my life and what I was going through and it is partly happy and partly sad to think about it.
Towards the end of this year, I embraced more original writing and I've started to take a step away from writing for Critical Role. That also just breaks my heart because I truly adore so many of the friends that I have because of it and I'm still going to be here and be an avid reader of yalls amazing works. and who knows! maybe my inspiration for cr will suddenly appear!
anyway, that's all I have to say and I hateee tagging people, but I'm going to make myself do it this time lol

This fluffy piece's creation is thanks to @crispysnake and @ravendruid , y'all tempted my ass so I have delivered! Apocalypse au and a bit after they find out they are in fact having twins.
All things considered, Keyleth thinks this has been the warmest it’s been since they’ve entered this frozen wasteland. Snow still buries everything and she and Vax would probably still get frostbite if they weren’t wearing all the layers they were but still it’s slightly warmer. That pared with the fact she was feeling relatively good today, Vax decided it seemed to decide to not look a gift horse in the mouth.
Twins, she’s having twins. She’d just started to fully come to terms with the fact she was pregnant before that revelation was made, frankly she’s even more scared then she was before when they’d thought she was only having one but as Vax dragged her out of the house they and the rest of their group are camping in and out to the center of the small town, she can’t help but relax a little.
He seems so excited, a slight skip to his step and it brings a smile to her face. It’s nice seeing him so excited, something she rarely sees from him nowadays. There are moments of course but she can’t help but wish he was excited and happier more but then again she’s felt that way for a long time.
It doesn’t take them long for her to figure out where their going, her heart melts with the sudden wave of adortion she feels for Vax. It is or well was a small local baby store it seems judging by the outside. She can’t help but pull herself closer to Vax, practically cuddling into his side as they start to walk in. It’s a bit obvious Vax came here with someone else before hand judging by the human sized spot of disturbed frost but she chooses to not linger on the thought of dead bodies right now, instead she looks to vax as he excitedly pulls her down an aisle.
It wasn’t too surprising to see quite the store still revaltivly well stocked, it wasn’t really full of things needed to survive the cold. Keyleth couldn’t help but giggle once she noticed the first aisle Vax made her check out was one full of stuffed animals. He knows her well. The two took their time walking through the aisles and even looking through the back, picking out a multitude of things. Ranging from stuffed animals to little knitted hats. As Vax works on fitting everything within the backpack he had gotten for them to pack everything Keyleth couldn’t help but watch him with a soft smile on her face.
“Vax?” He humms in response to her voice, turning half his attention to her, before her next words shattered his focus on packing. “I love you.”
He leaves the bag and the rest of their things on the floor, getting up and wrapping her in his embrace as they rest their foreheads together before he gives her a kiss. “I love you too, Kiki.” His voice is soft and she just for a moment forgets all the hells they’ve gone through and will go through. It’s just them and it’s the best either of them have felt in a long, long while.

Hi This is really just for @ravendruid cause they're the only one who has the full context so HERE U GO FREN AND IM SORRY IN ADVANCED Anyhoo this takes place in me modern au, while Keyleth and Percy are in uni! (I also apologize in advance if a lot of this does not make sense I am v sick rn and running on 3 doeses of dayquil and chocolate chip banana pancakes)
Everything feels beyond hazy but Percy still manages to gather enough focus to rub his hand up and down Keyleths back as she heaves into the toilet bowl. They had the same amount of shots, which really wasn't that many despite them celebrating her getting an incredible review on her research paper, he found it really doesn't take that much for her to get drunk.
Percy's mind feels far away as he stands and stumbles to the sink, filling a glass of water for Keyleth while leaning onto the counter, It was amusing at first, when she gets tipsy she gets giggly, hanging off of his shoulders and telling him about how silly short-eared owls look when they're running around, way too loudly might he add. Then she gets rather existential, going on about how everyone is just a prisoner of their own anxieties or something, he kind of tuned out, but it got hard to ignore when she got sad drunk. it still feels hard to ignore.
"I just- I mean come on Percy, my own m-mom didn't- didn't love me enough to come back... I don't know how-.. how could anyone else?"
She claimed it so nonchalantly. It feels like something he was never meant to hear, and yet he doesn't think he will ever be able to forget it.
He thinks about his family, how unconditionally his parents supported him and how Ludwig never seemed to stray far from his room, always interested in whatever he was creating, or how Cassandra clung to him in their scariest moments, entrusting him with her life. Since then, he felt as if he would never get that trust or tolerance, or love, ever again, of course until he met Keyleth.
Percy heard the shifting of Keyleth backing away from the toilet and he took a breath before sitting down cross-legged in front of her, nudging the glass against her hand until she finally took it. He watched her take a single sip before leaning and leaning, falling to her side onto the bathmat with a groan. "Nope," he said shortly, Keyleths head spins as he grabs both of her shoulders to pull her back up to a sitting position "You will hate me tomorrow morning if I let you fall asleep on the floor. It's disgusting." he brushed off one of her shoulders and tucked her hair behind her ears, pushing the glass back up to her face "No 's not it's comfy" She could only slur in return, making him smile a little. She bickers like his sisters did.
Percy ensured she drinks at least half the glass before letting her lean back to rest against the edge of the bathtub, and shifting to sit beside her, feeling her instinctively press into his side. He can still faintly recall how quickly she became physically affectionate to him or perhaps just affectionate in general. How it merely took one or two instances of Keyleth spotting him staying absurdly late at the library, (just as often as she did) before she brought him homebrewed tea and asked if it would be alright to sit and study with him.
Had Percy been a bit irritated at first? yes, a little, was it also the first ounce of kindness anyone had shown him in a while? also yes. Was it annoyingly hard not to find comfort in her presence or adore Keyleth as a person? yes. sometimes it still gets to him, how she noticed him there. But was she aware of that? no. and now he's definitely sobered up enough to know that he cannot stop thinking about it.
".. how could anyone else?" Percy truly does feel he will never be able to forget it.
"Keyleth?" He calls hesitantly, turning his head enough to glance down at her. She hums in acknowledgement and with the same amount of coordination as a fawn, attempts to pull herself up to look at him.
"Did you mean what you said earlier? about feeling.." he whispers now, his brain still feeling a little too buzzed to rethink this "Unloved?". Percy watches Keyleth sit up fully and stare at him, he watches the gears turn in her head as she processes, slightly sobering at his words. "Uhm.." Keyleth pulls her knees up to her chest almost defensively and curls around them, unsure what to say or do, tempted to pretend like she forgot about what she said entirely. Of course, she hasn't forgotten, and she never will. "I'm not sure" she whispers in reply.
They both know this isn't entirely a lie, Percy has known Keyleth long enough to know about what happened to Vilya, to know her extremely complicated thoughts on the matter, how it felt trying to grow up after a situation like that, and something else they both thoroughly understand is that she is not great at discussing her feelings openly. Opposites as they are, it is a habit they have in common.
He thinks about his siblings again, and how many excuses and lies he told to get out of family dinners. It keeps him up at night that he cannot recall the last time he said goodnight to Vesper. He thinks about how he never truly realized that when he thinks of his sisters, Keyleth always seems to fall in line with them. And he never wants her to feel as uncared for as he ever might have made them feel.
She's avoiding his eyes now, feeling an empty pit starting to form in the middle of her chest, staring at the tiles and hiding the lower half of her face between her knees. "Well," Percy started softly, reaching out to take her hand, "You are... Keyleth you are my best friend, and I love you".
She simply stares at him again, as if she's searching his face for any traces of deception or dishonesty, and she finds none. Keyleth feels tears prickle her eyes and her throat thickens, she pulls him forward by the hand and wraps her arms around his middle.
"I love you too" Percy could feel Keyleth mumble against his shoulder and he hugs her back equally as hard. As they sit on the floor of their small, dingy bathroom, holding each other tightly, for once Percy doesn't feel guilty at the thought of her as family, because a part of him knows that he needed to say it, just as much as she needed to hear it.

Sitting in the other one’s lap when they have no where else to sit(during appropriate times 👀) with Vaxleth, please?
Sitting in the other one’s lap when they have no where else to sit(during appropriate times 👀) going a lil off-script with this one and setting it in vamp machina, pre-kidnapping
Keyleth asks every night for three weeks straight until Vax finally relents. He doesn't know why she's so set on this, easily the dumbest idea she's ever had, but when she makes her eyes all big and shiny like that, what's he supposed to do, let her down?
So he takes her to a vampire bar.
It's the sleazy dive near the docks, the kind of place that the kind of girl like Keyleth would never accidentally stumble into. When he picks her up from her apartment, she's dressed in what he's sure she thinks is something incognito—skinny black jeans, one of his t-shirts, a baggy gray flannel, boots that have seen better days. And it's true, she looks the part—she looks fucking incredible, if he's being honest—but it's not going to change the fact that she smells undeniably human.
They take a taxi, and on the entire drive, Vax goes over the rules three more times, low so the cabbie doesn't hear. "Never more than two feet away from me, don't take any drink offered to you, keep Pike's holy symbol around your neck at all times—"
"—conjure sunlight if things get hairy, yes, I know." She rolls her eyes at him, but Vax can tell she's excited. "I promise, I'll be on my best behavior."
"Yeah, well, it's not you I'm worried about."
The cab pulls up outside the bar, which looks identical to every other brick-faced building around it, cracked sidewalks and all, and Vax gets out first, putting himself between her and the door. As he helps her out, he murmurs, "We can leave now. The night's still young, we can probably catch that movie you were telling me about."
She ignores him, brushing past him to head for the door. He scrambles to catch up to her. When they enter, it's exactly as he remembers: low lights, throbbing music, vampires and their rented donors lounging on all configurations of couches and tables. The whole place smells of copper and cigarette smoke, and instantly Vax is starving.
He keeps a hand firm around Keyleth's waist. Her presence does not go unnoticed; at least half a dozen of the closest vampires swing their eyes up and down her body, one obviously comparing her to the scantily-dressed woman his teeth in whose neck his teeth are currently buried.
Vax hates this place.
"C'mon." He starts to urge her toward a table farther away from the main bar area, but Keyleth resists. "What about a drink?" she asks, gesturing toward the bartender.
"You offering?"
Vax yanks Keyleth away from the burly, seedy vamp suddenly leering over her. "Fuck off," he hisses, letting his fangs finish the rest of the threat. He's not surprised when the other vamp slinks off; this place sucks, but at least it's generally understood that you don't eat off of anyone else's plate without permission.
There's a table free in the corner, which makes Vax antsy, but at least it's empty. As he shepherds a too-curious Keyleth towards it, he's stopped by an annoyingly familiar drawl. "Never thought I'd catch you here, brother."
Vax freezes. Keyleth stumbles, then turns to see what made him stop. "Are you...oh, wow." Her head swivels between Vax and his sister, who is seated at a booth along the wall across from two other vamps whose names Vax can't remember but whose faces he recognizes from the many, many nights he spent bouncing between haunts like this one. "You two look...I mean, you must be Vex!"
Keyleth is beaming, like this is always how she imagined meeting her boyfriend's twin sister. Vex is draped along the back edge of the booth, looking as casually sinister as ever, her eyes surveying Keyleth in a way that Vax knows means scrutiny, not hunger. "And you must be the witch." Her eyes swivel over to Vax. "You brought her here? And here I was thinking you stopped being fun when you started eating at home all the time."
Keyleth's cheeks tinge pink, and the other vamps—Vax is going to remember their names any second, he's sure of it—start to salivate at the smell of her blood pooling so close to the surface. Keeping his voice low, Vax murmurs, "Play nice, Vex'ahlia."
Vex throws her hands up in surrender. "I'm always nice, brother." She smiles sweetly at Keyleth. "Would you care to join us, darling?"
Before Vax can protest, Keyleth chirps, "Of course!" She eyes the seats beside Vex, which will definitely not fit the both of them. Undeterred, Keyleth grabs Vax by the arm and shoves him unceremoniously beside his sister. He's just managed to right himself when she perches on his lap, swinging her legs beneath the table. "There!"
Everyone stares at her, Vax easily the most dumbfounded. She's never been like this. Keyleth tends to be shyer than most, preferring to keep her affections behind closed doors, which is more than fine with Vax—so sitting on his lap and playing with the fine hairs at the nape of his neck in a den of vampires and iniquity is about as far from the Keyleth he knows as she can get.
Vex, on the other hand, seems bemused. "You are a wild thing, aren't you?" She leans in, teeth glittering in the light of the candle in the middle of the table. "I can see why my brother likes you."
"And I can see why he speaks so highly of you. You're so confident. I admire that."
"Aren't you sweet?" Vex whacks Vax's shoulder. "You should be sweet like her."
"Oh, he's plenty sweet." Her fingers have abandoned his hair and are now playing with the sensitive tip of his ear, and even in the tense atmosphere of this bar, it is...doing something to him. "He's a real gentleman, walks me home from work, brushes my hair out before bed, always stops drinking before I get dizzy—"
Vax chokes. "Keyleth—"
The woman across from Vex—Jenna? Jemma? It's driving him crazy—smirks. "Quite the pair you two make. I don't suppose you ever share..."
"Oh, I don't share." Keyleth lifts the hand that isn't torturously teasing his ear, and Vax's eyes blown wide when small sparks of sunlight dance between her fingers.
The vampire couple shies away with a hiss, and then the man grumbles, "We should go." The two slip easily out of the booth and disappear among the crowd.
Just like that, Keyleth slumps against Vax's chest, barely giving him enough time to catch her before she slides off his lap. "That was a lot."
"I'll fucking say. I've never seen you act like that before."
She smiles sheepishly. "Did you see her face when you walked up? She wanted to eat you up." She shrugs. "I had to...educate her."
Oh, if they weren't in the most dangerous place in the city right now. Vax's jaw hangs low, but Vex's head tips back as she cackles. "Oh...oh I like you. Feisty little witch you've found yourself, Vax. I rather think this vine's got thorns."
Keyleth preens. Vax presses his lips to the crook of her neck. "And what lovely thorns they are."

OH HI. Can I ask for counting their freckles with Vaxleth please? :DDDD
appreciating physical traits prompts ˗ˏˋ꒰ 🐚 ꒱ i have zero idea what universe this takes place in but it doesn't really matter
“Vax! Vax, come here!”
The half-elf jerked forward, the tranquil near-asleep state he had been in jarringly interrupted by the sound of his wife’s call. He was laying on a thick towel, only a few feet away from the edge of a pond where his little family was spending a relaxing day away from Zephran responsibilities. He stumbled onto his feet, the towel now a bunched up mess, and he ran into the water where Keyleth waded waist deep, their young son sat on her hip.
“What? What is it? Is everything alright?”
His eyes bounced from Keyleth to their child; the one year old seemed perfectly happy, giggling as the water splashed around Vax when he ran in, chubby little hands slapping down to make splashes of his own.
“He’s got freckles! I’ve never noticed them before.”
“Freckles?” Vax’s breath was ragged from the sudden burst of movement, and as his heart rate slowly came down from its adrenaline-fueled racing, he was able to focus more on what Keyleth was trying to tell him. “He has freckles?”
“Yeah! Look.” A long finger gently brushed against their son’s shoulder where, speckled along his tan skin, there were little dots, some big and some small, exposed by the golden sunlight.
“Oh.” He glanced over to Keyleth where similar markings dotted along her shoulders, and he leaned down to kiss her skin. “Just like his mother.”
Keyleth’s shoulders rose as Vax straightened, a bashful smile across her cheeks. Vax leaned down to kiss his son’s shoulders too, and the baby immediately leaned forward into his father. Vax took him without question, arms supporting his bum, chest to chest. With an even closer vantage point, Vax noticed the freckles traveled down onto the little guy’s arms and chest; he even spotted one right on the tip of his nose.
“How many do you have, baby bird?”
The little boy gurgled a non-verbal answer, his big green eyes crinkling as he smiled.
“Let’s see.” Vax kissed one spot. “That’s one.” He kissed another spot. “Two.” Keyleth caught onto the act and leaned in to kiss the toddler’s back. “Three.”
By the time they got to ten, the baby was in hysterics, his laughter bouncing off the water and through his parents’ hearts.
“Oh, I love him so much,” Keyleth swooned, wrapping her arms around Vax and their son.
“He loves you too, right?” The baby squealed in agreement. “Just like his father.”
