Sitting in the other one’s lap when they have no where else to sit(during appropriate times 👀) with Vaxleth, please?
Sitting in the other one’s lap when they have no where else to sit(during appropriate times 👀) going a lil off-script with this one and setting it in vamp machina, pre-kidnapping
Keyleth asks every night for three weeks straight until Vax finally relents. He doesn't know why she's so set on this, easily the dumbest idea she's ever had, but when she makes her eyes all big and shiny like that, what's he supposed to do, let her down?
So he takes her to a vampire bar.
It's the sleazy dive near the docks, the kind of place that the kind of girl like Keyleth would never accidentally stumble into. When he picks her up from her apartment, she's dressed in what he's sure she thinks is something incognito—skinny black jeans, one of his t-shirts, a baggy gray flannel, boots that have seen better days. And it's true, she looks the part—she looks fucking incredible, if he's being honest—but it's not going to change the fact that she smells undeniably human.
They take a taxi, and on the entire drive, Vax goes over the rules three more times, low so the cabbie doesn't hear. "Never more than two feet away from me, don't take any drink offered to you, keep Pike's holy symbol around your neck at all times—"
"—conjure sunlight if things get hairy, yes, I know." She rolls her eyes at him, but Vax can tell she's excited. "I promise, I'll be on my best behavior."
"Yeah, well, it's not you I'm worried about."
The cab pulls up outside the bar, which looks identical to every other brick-faced building around it, cracked sidewalks and all, and Vax gets out first, putting himself between her and the door. As he helps her out, he murmurs, "We can leave now. The night's still young, we can probably catch that movie you were telling me about."
She ignores him, brushing past him to head for the door. He scrambles to catch up to her. When they enter, it's exactly as he remembers: low lights, throbbing music, vampires and their rented donors lounging on all configurations of couches and tables. The whole place smells of copper and cigarette smoke, and instantly Vax is starving.
He keeps a hand firm around Keyleth's waist. Her presence does not go unnoticed; at least half a dozen of the closest vampires swing their eyes up and down her body, one obviously comparing her to the scantily-dressed woman his teeth in whose neck his teeth are currently buried.
Vax hates this place.
"C'mon." He starts to urge her toward a table farther away from the main bar area, but Keyleth resists. "What about a drink?" she asks, gesturing toward the bartender.
"You offering?"
Vax yanks Keyleth away from the burly, seedy vamp suddenly leering over her. "Fuck off," he hisses, letting his fangs finish the rest of the threat. He's not surprised when the other vamp slinks off; this place sucks, but at least it's generally understood that you don't eat off of anyone else's plate without permission.
There's a table free in the corner, which makes Vax antsy, but at least it's empty. As he shepherds a too-curious Keyleth towards it, he's stopped by an annoyingly familiar drawl. "Never thought I'd catch you here, brother."
Vax freezes. Keyleth stumbles, then turns to see what made him stop. "Are you...oh, wow." Her head swivels between Vax and his sister, who is seated at a booth along the wall across from two other vamps whose names Vax can't remember but whose faces he recognizes from the many, many nights he spent bouncing between haunts like this one. "You two look...I mean, you must be Vex!"
Keyleth is beaming, like this is always how she imagined meeting her boyfriend's twin sister. Vex is draped along the back edge of the booth, looking as casually sinister as ever, her eyes surveying Keyleth in a way that Vax knows means scrutiny, not hunger. "And you must be the witch." Her eyes swivel over to Vax. "You brought her here? And here I was thinking you stopped being fun when you started eating at home all the time."
Keyleth's cheeks tinge pink, and the other vamps—Vax is going to remember their names any second, he's sure of it—start to salivate at the smell of her blood pooling so close to the surface. Keeping his voice low, Vax murmurs, "Play nice, Vex'ahlia."
Vex throws her hands up in surrender. "I'm always nice, brother." She smiles sweetly at Keyleth. "Would you care to join us, darling?"
Before Vax can protest, Keyleth chirps, "Of course!" She eyes the seats beside Vex, which will definitely not fit the both of them. Undeterred, Keyleth grabs Vax by the arm and shoves him unceremoniously beside his sister. He's just managed to right himself when she perches on his lap, swinging her legs beneath the table. "There!"
Everyone stares at her, Vax easily the most dumbfounded. She's never been like this. Keyleth tends to be shyer than most, preferring to keep her affections behind closed doors, which is more than fine with Vax—so sitting on his lap and playing with the fine hairs at the nape of his neck in a den of vampires and iniquity is about as far from the Keyleth he knows as she can get.
Vex, on the other hand, seems bemused. "You are a wild thing, aren't you?" She leans in, teeth glittering in the light of the candle in the middle of the table. "I can see why my brother likes you."
"And I can see why he speaks so highly of you. You're so confident. I admire that."
"Aren't you sweet?" Vex whacks Vax's shoulder. "You should be sweet like her."
"Oh, he's plenty sweet." Her fingers have abandoned his hair and are now playing with the sensitive tip of his ear, and even in the tense atmosphere of this bar, it is...doing something to him. "He's a real gentleman, walks me home from work, brushes my hair out before bed, always stops drinking before I get dizzy—"
Vax chokes. "Keyleth—"
The woman across from Vex—Jenna? Jemma? It's driving him crazy—smirks. "Quite the pair you two make. I don't suppose you ever share..."
"Oh, I don't share." Keyleth lifts the hand that isn't torturously teasing his ear, and Vax's eyes blown wide when small sparks of sunlight dance between her fingers.
The vampire couple shies away with a hiss, and then the man grumbles, "We should go." The two slip easily out of the booth and disappear among the crowd.
Just like that, Keyleth slumps against Vax's chest, barely giving him enough time to catch her before she slides off his lap. "That was a lot."
"I'll fucking say. I've never seen you act like that before."
She smiles sheepishly. "Did you see her face when you walked up? She wanted to eat you up." She shrugs. "I had to...educate her."
Oh, if they weren't in the most dangerous place in the city right now. Vax's jaw hangs low, but Vex's head tips back as she cackles. "Oh...oh I like you. Feisty little witch you've found yourself, Vax. I rather think this vine's got thorns."
Keyleth preens. Vax presses his lips to the crook of her neck. "And what lovely thorns they are."

Vox Machina College AU
These are more so rough ideas and such, I’m hopping to write fanfic drabbles and at some point a true fanfic for it (They might not be connected fully :’3 we’ll see) Also even tho I am 22, I did not go to college so most info I get on that front is coming from light research and my friends experiences :’3
Percy and Keyleth have been best friends since high school
High school was rather rough for Percy and Keyleth causing them to have a very close bond to each other.
For a good chunk of their time in college they live together.
Cassandra though she wouldn’t outwardly admit it she does think of Keyleth like a sister. Percy also thinks of Keyleth like a sister but is more likely to admit it.
Percy is in engineering and has a tendency to make fidget toys for Keyleth in this spare time
Keyleth is in botany, she sometimes makes special teas for Percy to help him relax and sleep.
Keyleth is on anti anxiety meds but has a nasty habit of forgetting to take them.
Vex is in zoology/vet med
Vax is in mortuary science
Pike is in Med
Scanlan is in music and business
Grog is in sports and  physical education
Vex, Vax, and Trinket live in a rather old run down apartment a ways from campus.
Trinket is a very large fluffy dog.
Percy has a photography hobby, his favorite people to take pictures of are Keyleth and later Vex.
One of keyleths hobbies is drawing/painting, usually she draws/paints animals and plants but she has drawn Percy before and later does draw the rest of her friends at times, the twins more then others.
It’s rare for both Keyleth and Percy to be drunk at the same time but it always flabbergasts the group when they are and how chaotic the two will be together.
Keyleth has bad sensory issues.
Pike lives on campus but doesn’t have a dormmate.
Grog and Scanlan are dormmates.
Percy has a car thats roof can go down, when he and Keyleth are feeling bad sometimes they’ll just drive around at night with the top down and music playing.
Keyleth and Percy both like 60-80s music.
Romantic relationship focus is on Vaxleth, Percahlia, and kind of pikelan
Pikelan eventually leads from romance to a close bond instead.
All platonic ships are focused on.

Vaxleth AU where Vax ends up living and him and Keyleth reside together in Zephrah. The two of them end up getting married and a few years later basically adopt Orym.
Vax, not having that good father in his life, wanted to provide only the best for Orym and immediately stepped up. He would walk Orym everywhere, from school to his play dates with Derrig's family (which they were close with). With every doorknob that came around, Vax would lift Orym up so he could reach it himself.
Orym had always somewhat been a quiet child. But it peaked in his teenage years when he found himself crushing on Derrig's son, Will. This internal guilt alongside not knowing how Vax would react if he had found out left him staying quiet most of the time.
Vax, after a bit, noticed something was off and sat his son down privately. Orym admitted this weird feeling of liking his childhood best friend, and Vax reassured him that Orym was normal for his feelings and that it was okay, and that Vax would forever love him.
Vax later saw Orym light up in the following weeks as he began dating Will. Orym ended up telling his parents before anyone else about their engagement, and Vax was in tears as he walked Orym down the aisle.
Orym may have been adopted, but he would forever be Vax and Keyleth's halfling son.

'are you wearing my hoodie?' with vaxleth in BIME ?♡♡♡
I know this is a repeated prompt, but I did not have the courage to say no to some Vaxleth hoodie stealing. This drabble is set in Be In My Eyes, and I feel like it happens before this drabble. "Are you wearing my hoodie?"
Keyleth did not like the cold very much, and above all, she did not like snow or how it always found a way through her outer layers and onto her skin. While Zephrah’s winters were mostly rainy, Emon’s seemed cold, snowy, and dark as the sun set much earlier than she was used to, undoubtedly due to the different elevations between the two cities and the tall skyscrapers of Emon.
She had been rummaging through her clean laundry basket for a sweater to change into when she found something different, something she knew wasn’t hers just from the color alone: a plain black hoodie. Keyleth brought it up to her nose and recognized the scent as the laundry detergent that the twins used – why they had four types of laundry detergent instead of sharing one among all seven of them was something that Keyleth did not understand.
Even though black was not her color – or any color at all, in her opinion – or that common sense dictated that one should not steal – I’m not stealing, I’m borrowing! – their roommate’s clothes, Keyleth’s desire to wear the hoodie was much louder than the counterargument.
It was so soft and comfortable, and the familiar smell made her feel like she was burrowed into Vax’s embrace, which brought back memories from a night they had shared a couple of months ago. Blush crept up her cheeks as she remembered how his arms felt around her, his warm breath on her hair, and how the soft movements of his chest were enough to lull her to sleep.
Keyleth had been so entranced in the memory that she hadn’t heard the door to her bedroom open and the noise of footsteps approaching.
“Keyleth?” Vax called her, and Keyleth jumped, realizing it was not just a voice in her dreams but actually behind her.
“Vax!”
“Are you wearing my hoodie?” Vax asked with a smile. Keyleth’s eyes widened, and she took a step back, nervously playing with the strings of the hood.
“I–I–”
“It looks good on you,” He cocked his head.
“I’m sorry. I–It was in my laundry and–” Keyleth covered her face with her hands, trying to hide how anxious she was about being caught.
“Do you want it?” Vax asked, closing the distance between them.
Yes. Keyleth moved her hands away to look at him and saw that same look in his eyes he always had whenever they were this close, as if he wanted nothing more but to press his lips to hers, to hold her tight and never let go – or maybe that was what SHE wanted to do to him.
“No,” She lied, a small lie, a pity lie. Keyleth knew Vax didn’t have many clothes, she knew this was his only hoodie, and she did not dare to take it away from him, not when he had already given her so much of himself.
“Are you sure? I can buy another one.”
No, he can’t. Keyleth nodded, smiling tenderly at him, and the smile he gave her back made her want to grab him by the lapel of that stupid, sexy leather jacket and pull him in for a kiss.
“If you’re sure then,” Vax shrugged. “You can keep it for now and return it whenever you’re done wearing it. And I promise I won’t be mad if it accidentally finds its way into your laundry basket again,” Vax winked at her, and, for a moment, Keyleth could swear she saw a look of hunger in his eyes that matched her need to hold him close.
“A–alright, I’ll remember that.” She smirked, and her eyes fell to his lips. Fuck, they look so kissable. Keyleth tried to focus her gaze on Vax’s eyes, but as she did, she noticed his look also fell to her lips just seconds before he leaned in to press a soft kiss to the corner of her mouth.
“It really does look great on you. It brings out your eyes. You should wear it more often.”
Keyleth wasn’t sure if it was the way he said it, so smooth and sexy, if it was the way his long hair fell at the sides of his face, or if it was the wink Vax gave her just before he left. But suddenly, she felt unable to stand or think as the recently familiar heat that only Vax was capable of causing spread across her body.

(If Vox Machina were a gaming group of friends and Matt Mercer was a TheRussianBadger type narrator for their videos)
Matt: Nothing makes a group of gamers more nervous than when the game autosaves in a seemingly harmless location.
Pike: This is an awfully convenient collection of healing items.
Percy: Why is all of this ammo here?
Grog: Where did all of the enemies go?
Tiberius: This room has rather a lot of wide open space in it.
Scanlan: The music stopped suddenly. No, there it is. *Eyes widening in fear* That's an awful lot of base.

Tentative Lov
eScanlan Shorthalt and other Vox Characters created by Critical Role
Story By Melissa C. Scraper @whoviancumberbunny
Lucy was still recovering from twisting her ankle it was hard to believe it had been six months since she met Vox machina actually her favorite member of the group was one no one took seriously “Scanlan, why are you checking my ankle? Where is Pike?”
“she and vax are getting supplies.” he  climbs out from under her sheets “see promised I wouldn’t do anything weird.”
“Explain not having your shirt on.” She laughed “You asked me why I hid that reward poster with my face on it.” She looks down and thinks back to the day she had to quickly escape from the place she had never felt right in to begin with. “My ankle knows I witnessed him killed six people.” She wasn’t ready to admit the six people were in fact most of their family.
“My shirt clings to the sheets.” For the first time he gave her genuine gentle touch in her cheek and not just one that was prompted by being around the other members of the team. “You talk in your sleep sometimes.   You knew the people he killed.”
“He used my mother as a blood sacrifice.  Cut out her heart.” She absent-mindedly plays with the silver bell pendant she always wears “Even in information about her death the family lies about how old she was when I was born. She was always listed as four years older than she was. Daphne Rose Harridge Collins, my mother was only 16 when I was born. ”  she had wanted so hard to convince Quentin to cut off his contact with the family because the mansion had darkness. Even Lucy had been able to sense from an early age.
“I noticed when your mind wanders you roll the silver bell pendant between your fingers. Where did it come from.”
“It belonged to my mother. She gave it to me for birthday a few months before her death.”  She sighed “I can’t let him find me. Because I know his intention is to kill me too.”
“If he finds you I will protect you, I promise.” She noticed he had been omitting the phrase as friend for the last few weeks. Was it possible the sweet male gnome only allowed himself to be real when his friends weren’t around “Scanlan? First thing put your shirt back on and 2nd thing will you play your mandolin for me?” she said with a smile, a few moments later he was standing next to her bed playing a melody as the images of butterflies floated near the ceiling  “I..” she wasn’t sure how to tell she felt because she felt like loving him was putting him danger because Gabriel was the only person in her life she had ever been afraid of.
“no need to speak.” He took her hand “you are still wearing the woven bracelet I made for you.” During a battle the original strap to his mandolin had snapped and Lucy had spent three days making him a new one. At the same time he had taken the scraps of the old one and managed to fashion them into a bracelet and given it to her
“You made it for me. Why would I not wear it.” He gently brushed her dark brown hair out of her eyes.  “You asked why I flinch when Vax and Pike call me Lulu. My cousins called me we were supposed to go horseback riding the day before…” Suddenly it dawned on Scanlan. She wanted to tell him but she was afraid to you “Lucy… are the six people he killed the other people in your family?”  as soon as he asked she started crying and he climbed onto her bed and let her rest her head against his shoulder. She had been holding it in so long.  After she finished crying she reached into her beag nd pulled out small book
 “are you sure?”
“It is easier to just let you read everything I remember than it is to have to say everything.”  By the time other members of vox machina returned.
“You just rest and I will bring you something to eat later.” He hand the journal back to her. The full descriptions of the deaths of her family had taken up ten pages in her journal.  After she placed her head on the pillow he gently kissed her forehead. “Your name means light and you feel like a light in my life.” He whispered
“why the sad look Scanlan. Did Lucy reject you again?”  Vax said as  Scanlan went outside for air. “I wish I could make her past pains go away.” He said to himself as he looked at the sky. Somewhere out there was man who had killed his own family because he wanted everything. He knew Lucy didn’t think she was strong enough to fight him. But live everyone else in the house she carried emotional damage. Kamjiori had been right he had given up looking for love and it found him.
A few weeks later…Scanlan uses Scanlan’s hand to carry Lucy outside. “This feels so weird Scanlan.”   “you need fresh air and this was the only way I could think of to make you smile.”  He had a  picnic set up under the big tree nears the keep “it is not much. All I am good at is making sandwiches. Tiny hands.”  The giant purple hand carefully placed her on the ground and he sat next to her “I can’t get the images from your journal out of my head. But it must be worse for you because you were there.”
Lucy “Scanlan, I would rather not talk about that right now lets just enjoy the fresh air.”  She takes napkin and wipes mustard off his cheek. “I am always showed when see you eating a sandwich bigger than your head.”
“Did you ever have anyone trying to court you?”
“The money they were courting my name not me. I was never person to them. I was means to an end. The only person I ever came close to caring about was sent away to battle ogres because he wasn’t right kind of person to be marrying an heiress. Before that night I had been wanting to leave anyway. Because I wanted to make my own choices and not have them made for me.”
Vax “we were checking the notice board in town and found this.” He said holding up the notice for reward for information on Lucero Angelique Collins
“there is difference between missing and not wanting to be found. ”   she sighed as vax just stared at her “Fine. About two years he made another failed attempt at murdering me.” She knew they wondered why she always wore high collars. She unbuttoned her collar a scar from knife being dragged along her neck “he paid bounty hunters to take me back and at the family dinner to celebrate my 18th birthday, I knew he was trying to poison me.” Scanlan looked over at Lucy and she was starting to shake “Vax’ildan. With all due respect my friend.  If you don’t go inside now I may have to punch you.” He stands between Lucy and Vax. “Leave us alone.” He may not have known her for very long but he could tell she about to break. “it is okay, Lucy. How many times?”  “Four that I  can remember. His goal was to keep me from turning 18. Because he knew his grandfather’s will stated I would inherit third of everything if I lived past 18.” The tears started rolling down her cheek he wiped his hands on his pants and gently caressed her cheek “I love you. I don’t know if you can accept my love. But I promise to my best to protect you.”
Inside Vex slaps her brother “You made her feel like criminal, brother. You know very well that wanted posters don’t always mean the person is a criminal.”
Outside he tells her the story of how he distracted the people at dinner party while the others fought the Briarwoods “Really your codpiece created rainbows?” she laughed  “True.” He sits down on her lap “tell me something are you always sitting so you are not taller than I am when we are talking?”  she feeds him a grape  “most people treat gnomes like lesser beings because we are shorter.”
Lucy blushes “It is easier to talk to you when I can look into your eyes. They’re so beautiful  and soulful. Can see love in them like I did with Galen.”
“Is that the name of the guy you mentioned, that your father sent away?”    “Yes. He was the son of the horse master. whenever father was having business meetings I would go out to the stables.   Being there was the only time I didn’t feel like I was just being treated like the daughter of master of the house.” She looks into his eyes    “
I hope I can be to you what he was. Someone you can just be yourself around.”  Scanlan said as he pulled her hands from her collar “Stop hiding your scars.  They are trophy that you lived when someone has been trying to destroy you.” He gently traced his fingers along her scars.  Then he placed his hand on her cheek and gently kissed her on the lips  “I have been wanting to do that for a while.”
“No need to sound so apologetic.  Scanlan Shorthalt. It was the hidden part of you I was drawn to. The way you act when no one can see you.” She said “why do you think you are the only one I never ask to leave when I wake up with anyone staring at me.” He stood up and helped her to her feet and as they walked,  he mindlessly strummed his mandolin.  “That is a nice melody. does it have name?”
“Not yet.” In fact he was trying to write song for her, but he couldn’t think of the right words to go with the melody.   They hear a carriage go through the woods,  they duck behind the bushes. “He’s kind of gross looking.”
“Gabriel found Whitestone. See the tall one with the greying hair and slight limp. That is Gabriel.”
“he kind of reminds me of dark wizard I ran into once. Before I met Vox Machina.” He looks at her “that was about ten years ago in secluded forest.” He pauses and thinks back “I remember he had two children tied in cage.”
“You are the one who tried to help me and Eli?”  She hadn’t been able to make his face out because it had been way after dark and only light was coming from the fire.  “You’re the little girl in the cage?” he looked at her “I couldn’t help you then but I am here for you now. We should get back to the keep.” When they return they explain what happened
“Lucy, I am sorry for earlier.” Vax offers his hand “Forgive me?” she hugs him “I guess that means you are not mad.”
“Gabriel Alexander Collins is the only person I have ever been afraid of.”  She describes each time she recalls him attempting to kill her “If Eli hadn’t pushed me behind the secret panel of the mansion. That night I would be dead now.” She had spent almost year running from him “I am not a fighter. I can see spirits.”  She could see the tether connecting Vax to The matron of ravens.
Vax’Ildan after they came up with battle plan “Lucy can we speak in private.” They go into another room “you’ve seen the matron of ravens. The goddess of death.”  He paused “there is not good way to phrase this.”
“I can see the ribbon of spirit energy that connects you to the matron of ravens.  It shimmers golden.”  She looked at him “It is your soul.  You may be the one who serves her but  your soul is still yours.”  She places her hand on his chest. “What does your middle name mean? I have heard scanlan trying to write songs I know your first name means Light.”
“Little Angel. It was the name of my grandmother’s sister. She killed herself after her lover married another woman.”
“You are an unusual person.” He smiled “in vasselheim we met man named Galen. When he heard about the deaths in your family stepped away from his post and mumbled. I hope that means she lived.”
“I thought Galen was killed. Thank you , Vax.” After Lucy left the room
“How long have you been standing there, Sister?”
Vex “long enough.“ she looked at him “We did speak to him unfortunately a few hours later Galen along with most of the village were killed.” He looked at through the open door “Lucy has spent her whole life pretending she is not special.   Pike and Kiki can see it.  She has spent so much of her life around death that all she could do was fight to not lose herself in the darkness.  Think back to history lessons   before we left home there was a man named collins who was robber baron who killed his wife when he found her in the arms of his attorney.”
A week later just outside of town to minimize collateral damage, Gabriel stands glaring at his niece "I haven't seen you in quite some time now." he said in a tone similar to snake “are these people as weak as you are.”
Lucy stands in front of most of Vox with Scanlan standing next to her “Well, I was busy avoiding you. But my luck obviously ran out." There was, in theory, an art to these things...but they didn't quite have the eye or the patience for such a thing.  The young woman knew the members of Vox Machina well enough battle plans were only suggestions
“Even with bunch of people around you are still not worthy of existence Lucero.” Gabriel muttered. “I still don’t know why my sons insisted on sacrificing themselves to protect you.”
She flinched away from his words. ”You killed Eli last because you knew.  Three years before I was born my father slept with your wife and Eli was my brother.” She ducks as kiki and vex attack Gabriel.  It was vaguely apparent that he was no longer human.  Scanlan catches her  “Be careful you don’t want to twist your ankle again. What do you see?”  “His aura is black. I don’t think my uncle has been fully human for a long time.” She replied “Thanks Scanlan.”  Whispers in his ear “You better take me on that date you promised after this and not to a skeevy tavern.”
When she moves out of the way Trinket shields her from direct attack by one of Gabriel’s  minions. “Thanks trinket next time I make something for dinner I am giving you nice piece of fish.”
After two hours of fighting  those working for Gabriel have either ran away crying or fainted. Scanlan summons mythcarver “I know Lucy doesn’t want you dead but she also wants you some place where you can’t hurt her or any of our friends.”  Grog bonks Gabriel on the head knocks him out “He is stubborn asshole. “ he goes over to where lucy is sitting and kisses her “as long as you are with us you are safe.”
She looks at the others “Do you really think of me as your friend?”
Percy helps her  to her feet “Of Course we do Lucy we wouldn’t have agreed to help you if we didn’t. Did I hear you correctly? You have a brother amongst the dead at Collins mansion.”
“He’s buried in shallow grave In the basement, along with my parents and my cousins.  By my estimation there are least 8 people buried in shallow graves in the basement.” She looks down “I want them to be at peace. Their souls are trapped in the house. It was my grandmother’s spirit that told me to run and save myself.” “You can see auras?”   “Spirits. In the living your spirit creates your energy field  it manifests as spirits being trapped in the place they died.” She looked at vax ”He was the first one I told. I wasn’t sure anyone would believe me.  I have had this ability since I was seven.”
After they return to whitestone “If it is not too much to ask. Will you all come with me to make sure my family gets formal burials.   I donlt want to go back to my hometown alone.  I have spent almost two years running from it.”
Pike “Of course we will. You were the youngest in family of mostly men.”
Scanlan sits next to her “Is what you yelled at Gabriel true?”
“Eli was my brother.  You remind me, of my father, Scanlan.  He was never sure how to show love.  but I remember whenever I didn’t feel well or couldn’t sleep he would play the piano for me.” She takes out her journal and shows them a sketch of her family.   That Eli drew a few months before their deaths “Eli drew this. That’s the reason he’s not in it.”
“You’re obviously the one In the middle of the front row. So the one with the forlorn expression on her face.”  Percy said “Daphne Rose Harridge Collins.”   “She is my mother.”
“is this why you flinch when any of us call you Lulu. I noticed Eli drew a rose and for Lulu-bell . under it “ pike said handing it back to her “everyone except Gabriel called me lulu bell. It was the last thing he said to me before he pushed me into the secret passage. No matter what, Lulu bell run as far from here as possible and never look back. I had been on my own for about five months the day I collapsed outside the tavern you were thrown out of.”
Scanlan places his hand on her cheek “We can make a future together.”  Later that evening after everyone dispersed “Do I have your permission to stay on your bed tonight.”
“No touching below the waist. Unless you’re massaging my feet. “ when he sits on her lap she whispers in his ear  just barely audible.  “I love you, Scanlan Shorthalt.”  She runs her fingers through his ponytail

a grow with the flow fic for your monday
Now that they have the space for it, Keyleth and Vax have a room dedicated to their podcast. There is a recording space with a comfy couch surrounded by more plants than a botanical garden, and out of view of the cameras, a pair of desks where they edit film and audio, work their socials, and do all of the other things that come with being professional podcasters. The walls are a cheery yellow, and today, the sunlight streaming in through the large window behind the camera is just as bright.
Vax sits beside Keyleth, completely unaware of what today's subscriber-only special is going to be. All she's told him is that it's going to be a game, a puzzle of sorts, and he's always down to make a fool of himself on camera.
Keyleth runs through their standard intro before asking him, "Are you ready?"
There's a mischievous twinkle in her eye that he so rarely sees there. "I have no idea."
"Perfect. Your challenge for the day is identification." She gestures to the large, covered wicker basket sitting on her lap. "We mostly deal with green plants here on the podcast and in our home, but you know that I also love flowers."
"I do know that." Vax rarely comes home from the grocery store without a small bouquet to refresh the vase in the living room.
"I'm going to test your knowledge of some common flowers. Starting with..." Ignoring his quiet, "Oh no...," she pulls out a single stem of a purple flower, its thin, curling petals stained with yellow toward the center. She hands it to him. "What is this?"
Oh, he is definitely going to look like a fool. He searches every memory he's ever had of flowers. "Is this...an iris?"
"Ding ding ding!" Vax sighs in relief. "Good job! Next one."
She pulls out a long-stemmed puff of gold, and Vax knows this one. He takes it from her with an easy, "This is a marigold."
"And you thought you'd be bad at this!"
Next up is a poppy, and followed by a rose. He's feeling confident until the flower after that, with sparse, narrow pink petals and a large center. After a good thirty seconds, he frowns. "I got nothing."
She clucks her tongue. "That is an echinacea flower. But four for five ain't bad!" She kisses his cheek, which is worth the fuck-up.
He surprises himself by recognizing the gardenia, but he's never even heard of a nemesia before, much less seen one. As the game goes on, Vax finds himself distracted by Keyleth's hands, which seem to vibrate with some kind of frenetic energy. There's something else going on here, something besides a game of identifying flowers, but he has no idea what it could be.
She tells him there are only three flowers left, and he gets aster right, but not narcissus, and when he finally correctly identifies the tulip, he has a rather large bouquet in his hands, a riot of colors and aromas. Keyleth congratulates him on a job well done—his performance was middling at best, but he did do better than he would have predicted—but she's still buzzing, and Vax knows there's more to come.
"So...there's a round two, so to speak."
"A round two?"
"Those flowers are...a code of sorts. A puzzle for you to figure out." She pulls her feet up onto the couch, settling in to watch him struggle.
A code? They're flowers. Vax knows that there's some kind of meaning system behind flowers, like lilies are for peace or something, but he's far from well-versed in it, and he's pretty sure Keyleth doesn't know much more than he does. Both of them like flowers that are pretty and smell nice; they're simple folk.
"I don't think you want me to know what these mean," he says, thinking out loud, "because I don't think you know what these mean."
"Fair enough."
"But you picked these flowers for a reason."
She nods. "I did."
"Okay." If he felt foolish before, he feels doubly so now. Keyleth and their entire audience are watching him struggle to put together pieces he can make neither heads nor tails of. "I'm going to assume you gave them to me in a specific order."
"Excellent assumption." She's sitting back comfortably in the corner of the couch, but her casual posture belies that same high-key energy he's dying to understand. Her smile isn't nearly as blasé as he knows she'd like him to think it is. This puzzle is something big.
"Okay, let's work this out." He takes the iris and lays it on top of the basket, which now sits between them. "Iris. Then...marigold." He lays it just beside the first flower. "Is it...the names?" His eyes flash to hers, and instead of an answer, the corners of her smile curl up further. He's got it. "Okay. Iris, marigold. I-M." The poppy was next, then the rose. With each letter, he lays the corresponding flower onto the basket. "I-M-P-R...oh fuck, what was next?" He fumbles through the remainder of the bouquet in his hands before finally announcing, "Echinacea, right! Then it was the gardenia...I-M-P-R-E-G—"
He cuts himself off, eyes going wide. His head snaps to face Keyleth's, who has completely lost any pretense of nonchalance. She's grinning bright, already half-laughing as the realization sinks into Vax's bones like sunlight in the winter. "No fucking way." She nods enthusiastically. "No fucking way!"
And then the flowers are everywhere, basket tosses aside as he throws himself on her, babbling incoherently as the tears come fast and hot. She catches him easily, wrapping her arms around his neck as he sobs into hers. "Breathe," she laughs, running a hand up and down his back. "You're going to pass out."
Shaking, he straightens up, wipes at his eyes. "I can't believe...how long have you known?"
"Three days. It took this long to put this together." She tucks his hair behind one ear. "I couldn't keep it from you any longer."
"Another baby." He feels like he's going crazy, like at any moment, one of the twins is going to shake him awake from this dream he's in. "We weren't even trying!"
She laughs again. "I know!"
"We're just really good at it!"
With a roll of her eyes, she warns him, "Vax'ildan, we are on camera."
Fuck, he'd forgotten. He turns to grin stupidly at the camera. "Hi everyone! We're having a baby!"
Keyleth tucks herself into his side. "Obviously, you all will be watching this many months down the line, when we're ready to announce, but..." She interlaces her fingers with his. "I wanted to have something we could share, if we wanted to."
Vax understands that the responsible thing to do is to wait to announce such incredible news, but he feels like he's physically going to burst if he doesn't climb onto their roof and shout it for all of the neighbors to hear. "This is...fuck, Kiki. This is unbelievable."
Normally she's shy about showing physical affection while on camera, but today, she takes his face and pulls it to her own, kissing him with a ferocity she so rarely displays in front of others. He smiles against her lips—what a dream, this woman, this family, this life. He hopes he never, ever wakes up.

Vox Machina: Apocalypse AU
Yup, another AU O<O (zombies plus inspiration from some aspects of the game the long dark aka it gettin cold)
Before the apocaypse began Vax had been hanging out with Keyleth, helping her get Minxie for the vet.
Both Trinket and Minxie are good at detecting Zombies if they are near by.
The group is rather fortunate due to the fact Pikes is a nurse, Vex a doctor, Vax an emt, and Percy an engineer/mechanic/inventor.
Keyleth is a meteorologist, due to her specific work she started to discover the weather all around the world was getting colder, prolonging winters, ect before the zombies happened.
When shit hit the fan and once they were all able to find each other everyone piled into Percys work van which luckily has the space for all of them plus one cat and one very large dog.
The only two who started out with weapons were Percy with his gun and Vax with a dagger he always carries around.
Due to not wanting to cause noise that can accidently cause people to get killed, Keyleth suggests they use their phones to email others instead of text or call due to most people not having sound on for those notifications. This leads to them learning both Whitestone and Zephrah are becoming safe citys/towns due to being able to prepare, lower population, and that they are further up north therefore colder which can slow down and even kill zombies if it’s extreme enough.
Wilhand and Korrin know each other and sometimes visit each other to chat, luckily Wihland was visiting Korrin when all this happened and is safe.
The Chroma Conclave are a group of people who rob, kill, and manipulate other survivors.
Allura, Kima, and Gilmore are still alive and keep in contact with Vox Machina via emails.
Kashaw and Zahra are also still alive and are also joining on in the email contact.
Keyleths health has never been the best and an unspoken fear everyone has is of her getting deathly ill while they are traveling.
Ironicly it’s Vax who first thinks of and bring up the idea of collecting seeds from garden stores and such in hopes of helping Whitestone and Zephrah keep a sustainable food source. (Though to be fair his first thought was how it might help cheer up Keyleth, meaning he also grabs a few flower seed packets even though they aren’t ‘useful’)
Zephrahs one main claim to fame is their ‘giant’ greenhouse. (hence how even tho it’s growing colder they can still grow food. Zephrah is also a self mantained town due to how small it is, meaning they still very much have power)
Cassandra leads the plans and organization/fortification of Whitestone, she messages Korrin a fair bit once Percy emails her in confirmation that Zephrah is safe too.
Scanlan is the one to find a bow for Vex while he and Grog went to scout a place out. Percy takes one the arrows they found to basicly study it in a sense and from there makes the rest of Vex’s arrows when their supplies from scavenging run low.
Keyleth very much knows how to make things explode and/or catch fire due to her love of the sciences.
When food gets scarcer Vex and Trinket start to go hunting which stresses the group out a little bit but with how cold it’s gotten at that point the only real threat is well the cold.
Scanlan will sometimes sing or hum a song to help everyone fall asleep.
Vex and Vax already knew how to syphon gas out of a car, this proves very helpful for the group when they have a car.
At some point their car gets destroyed in a run in with the conclave and at another point they can’t even use cars any more due to how cold it is.
Almost everything is a sensory hell for Keyleth, she is very thankful she has Minxie to help her calm down

What if I made an AU Orthax as a corrupted spirit of Justice?
Justice Spirit Orthax was called by Percy's strong emotional desire for JUSTICE, but the more he fixated on it the more it turned to pure bloody vengeance and Orthax became corrupted by Percy, not the other way around. His human host brought him rage, blind impulse and instinct for violence... while Orthax struggled to maintain his origin as a spirit and pull Percy back to the person he was before and recall his desire for JUSTICE, not VENGEANCE.
This version of Orthax is less Chaotic Evil/Lawful Evil, more True Neutral, maybe Chaotic Neutral at worst. He stands for justice, and maybe retribution but not a killing spree. Righteous fury, but not homicidal rampage. He's not opposed to the rest of Vox Machina or their influence on Percy bc Orthax is convinced they level him out properly in ways Orthax, as a spirit, can't.
Percy: *hellbent on vengeance and homicidal rage*
Orthax: *the disappointed spirit possessing him and trying to slap his hand away every time he attempts to push the murder button*
I had some ideas on Orthax and his own interactions with VM. He's very inhuman feeling, more like a detached sounding guardian angel disappointed in a humanity he watches over. He's willing to accept help from others, "Percy wouldn't, but that pride is common in humans, I've found"
Orthax in his original form being closer to a Phoenix accompanied by steam and warm light, unlike his corrupted "demon" form as a crow of smoke and torturous flame. Smoke being put out excessively during Percy's vengeance as spirit Orthax attempts to vent the negativity from the whole experience to bring Percy back to sanity faster.
"Percival is not a bad man. But he is angry. Most men in his situation would be. But anger is a force all its own and if you do not control it, it will control you, and even I can't save everyone from that, try as I might."

"are you wearing my hoodie?" in bime!!!
I know you enjoy some Perc'ahlia on occasion, so I hope you like this little drabble. This is set in Be In My Eyes. "Are you wearing my hoodie?"
Percy was used to the cold, so wearing short sleeves in cold weather was not odd. What was weird, though, was that he couldn’t find his favorite navy blue hoodie, which caused him some distress. Percy had looked everywhere, from his closet to the suitcase with summer clothes stowed on top of his wardrobe – one never knows where something might be hiding. He even asked the other guys if it had been mixed up with their laundry, to no avail. His hoodie was gone, and there was reason to cry over spilled milk.
Unfortunately, Percy had only brought that one hoodie to Emon. Due to last night’s sudden weather change, they had woken up to a blanket of snow outside, which he intended to enjoy. Alas, no hoodie in sight, he opted for an alternative, a long sleeve shirt and a woolen sweater that would be equally warm.
Percy had just turned the corner into the living room when he saw a disheveled Vex’ahlia stomping her feet on the entrance rug, her hair in a mess with melting white snowflakes, and an equally soggy Trinket. But more importantly – and why Percy let out such a loud gasp upon seeing her – Vex was wearing a very familiar navy hoodie, one that Percy was sure she had not been able to get unless she had raided his wardrobe.
“Vex’ahlia, are you wearing my hoodie?” He asked in shock.
Vex looked at him with wide eyes, and the corner of her lips curled up into a mischievous smile.
“Oh, this?” She tugged at the fabric on her chest. “Is it yours, darling? I apologize. I thought it was my brother’s. Would you like it back?” She asked with a smug look.
“Why–Very much so, yes. Please?” Percy hesitated.
“Alright,” Vex shrugged. She crossed her arms in front of her torso and brought her hands to the hem of the hoodie, pulling it up over her head.
Percy’s legs wavered underneath him, for he quickly realized his mistake. Standing in front of him was Vex’ahlia in a black sports bra that did barely anything to conceal the shape of her breasts, handing Percy his inside-out garment with a wink.
“Here you go, darling.”
Percy hemmed and hawed, mouth open and pupils blown wide with the vision in front of him. He already thought Vex was a beautiful woman and had seen the way she was so carefree about her appearance – gods, he still hadn’t forgotten the dress she wore the first time they all went to the bar – but he had never seen her be so nonchalant about the lack of clothing around their male roommates.
“T–thank you.” Percy mustered, quickly looking everywhere but at her. He could already feel the heat on his face and his blood boiling. But it wasn’t until he felt his body betray him that Percy turned around and returned to his room, closing the door behind him and panting hard.
“I thought you were going out,” Vax asked him, looking surprised.
Fuck. Percy looked at his roommate, but the image of what had just transpired between him and Vax’s twin sister was still engraved in his mind.
“Changed my mind. I’m going to take a shower.” Percy exited the room again, leaving a very confused Vax to look at the door and wonder what the fuck was wrong with Percy and why he had just gone to shower with a hoodie in his hands but no change of clothes or a towel.
