Okay, so! Smoke&Mirrors (and Conundrum too) will continue, but right now I can't concentrate because of work and mental health. So! I'm just being silly in a save file that takes place AFTER the events of S&M. The story follows Alika, Aodh and Grantaire who risk everything to start a band. But things got crazy because well, it's the Sims. That being said:

HOW DOES MAGIC WORKS IN THIS UNIVERSE?

This topic will be exclusively about spellcasters and mermaids. This is because for me they are in the same "category" thanks to the awesome mod mermaid expanded that makes mermaids sea witches!

Magic finds its root in the three kinds we all know and love: Mischief, Practical and Untamed. For decades the Sages tried to protect the realm's stability by using magic in the "right" way. However, after the events of Smoke&Mirrors, Spellcasters started to experiment with magic once again making it flourish like it was centuries ago. Now, how does it work?

The new magic comes from one or more of the big three every spellcaster start learning the "base", it's like learning a language to write your own book. So it's something like this:

WHAT ABOUT MERMAIDS?

Known as sea witches, their magic remains lost in time. Even when Ebenezer was young (about 150 years ago), they had only a glimpse of mermaids, so you could imagine the Sages' surprise when they found one! The most amusing part is that Mermaids are usually born as such, so the Realm has a lot to catch up with. Since they control water and emotions, their magic could be called untamed and mischief-related, but that would be an understatement. There are still a lot to learn about them.

Being Noah Lewis was a complicated thing, a wonder of muscles and organs, synapses and nerves. He was a miracle of moving parts.

Oh, Noah? Yeah... Apart from Grace, I wasn't considering getting another apprentice. One is more than enough for me! I have things to do, spells to create and people to see. Being a mentor isn't my cup of tea you know?

But I had to stand up against my own common sense and follow Noah on his magical path when I saw what he created. His magic is dangerous and unpredictable and neither untamed nor mischievous. A child of light. Sometimes his implacable mind reminds me of Ebenezer but I'm not sure it's a positive thing. For the people around him at least. Noah is destined for greatness in the Magic Realm.

Light and luck are at the heart of this young guy's magic, and what he can do with them combined is simply amazing.

Had the saddest fucking dream ever about Ryo Bakura getting invited out to dinner with his dad and he’s really happy and he’s having a great time walking around town and catching up with his dad at first, his dad asks him what he wants to eat and they settle on getting sushi, it’s all great and they haven’t had a meal together in ages! It’ll be so nice! But they keep running into people his dad knows and his dad keeps getting sidetracked to talk to them or even straight up going completely out of the way to do something for these people. Ryo’s fine at first and even a little glad that his dad seems to be pretty well liked by a lot of people, but one diversion turns into another, then three, then five, and it’s getting later and later, and his dad is paying less and less attention to him in favor of whatever acquaintance he’s with… it was specifically 11:34 PM when Ryo finally gave up and started going home. He still hadn’t had dinner.
