The Air Force of the Republic of Korea (RoKAF) conducted on March 8 an impressive "elephant walk" (Elephant Walk) involving 33 aircraft, including poacher fighters F-35A, KF-16, F-15K and the former F-4E that are scheduled for retirement in June.

The F-4E Phantoms, leading the formation equipped with AGM-142H 'Popeye' and AGM-65D 'Maverick' air-to-ground missiles, and MK-82 air-to-ground pump. A total of 25 newer fighters followed, including the F-15K, KF-16, F-16, FA-50, F-5 and F-35A. Among them, two F-35As flew low over the Elephant Walk formation and then landed and joined the formation.

This demonstration at Suwon Air Base coincided with the annual Freedom Shield exercise, reinforcing the deterrence against North Korea's nuclear and missile threats.

A RoKAF official said that "this is the first time that all types of fighters belonging to the South Korean Air Force have participated".

The term "elephant walk" dates back to World War II, when large fleets of Allied bombers gathered for missions containing up to 1,000 aircraft. It means a coordinated demonstration of power and military preparation.

The Chief of Staff of the Air Force, General Lee Young-su, emphasized the need of the South Korean Air Force to inspire confidence in the public and deter potential opponents. The "Elephant Walk" demonstrated RoKAF's readiness to respond decisively to any provocations.

"I give a warm applause to the Phantoms who protected the Republic of Korea for 55 years, and to the 'Ghost Men' who shared the ups and downs with the Phantoms," added Lee Young-soo.

The F-4 was first introduced in Korea in 1969. RoKAF explained that it was able to dominate the North Korean Air Force by introducing the F-4D, the new most powerful aircraft in the world at the time. Until the KF-16 entered service in 1994, the F-4 served as the main fighter representing the Air Force of the Republic of Korea, which even operated up to about 220 Phantoms, including the improved F-4E and the RF-4C reconnaissance aircraft.

Most Phantoms are retired and only about 10 F-4Es remain active. All of them will be retired in June of this year.

North Korea's recent calls for mobilization for combat highlight the ongoing tensions in the region, with Pyongyang often seeing negotiations for joint exercises between South Korea and the US as provocations.

20. What was your most anticipated release? Did it meet your expectations?

my most anticipated book was definitely the spear cuts through water by simon jimenez, who wrote perhaps my favourite book of 2021, the vanished birds. it was published in august, but i have not read it yet for silly reasons so i can't say how it stands up to my expectations which i think are modest (enjoy myself while reading)

bonus book i was looking forward to (a lot less than the spear cuts through water, it has to be said) and did actually read (upon release!) which is babel by rf kuang but you know how i feel about it.

anticipated releases in 2023: i think for the first time in my life i am very out of tune with the current literary world & new releases. if there is a book i am looking forward to can't remember. i read so much this year and perhaps more than ever balanced contemporary with 'classics' and i guess i overwhelmingly enjoyed those more (or stuck with them more often). so i will read books as i come across them but i am mostly on the lookout for the old and bridging gaps in my knowledge.

6. Was there anything you meant to read, but never got to?

i'll skip the banal answers you probably know very well to books i distantly planned to read 'soon' and didn't: long live the post horn (vigdis hjorth), sorrowland (rivers solomon; author of my favourite book of 2018), vile bodies (evelyn waugh), all the horses of iceland (sarah tolmie), parable of the sower (octavia e butler), tears of the trufflepig (fernando a flores) and breakfast for champions (kurt vonnegut) + to the lighthouse (virginia woolf) which i hoped to reread at this juncture in my life. also everything on my nonfiction shelf (most of which i at least tried to read), perhaps in particular the climate change section as well as ghosts of my life and wanderers a history of women walking.

i don't think the next brick will be russian per se. besides la vie mode d'emploi which is a bulgakov 2020 nominee [books i vaguely wish to read but never remember, mostly 'classics', named for my intention to read the master & margarita in 2020. recent winners include in de ban van de ring, the brothers karamazov and the book the endeavour is named for], i think ulysses daily (ulysses om 't uur?) is perhaps the funniest possible outcome of the serialised email format, something that occured to me about a week too late this june. so maybe this year i finally read ulysses. if we're doing strictly russian: doctor zhivago but it's not very high on my list. oh i heard such high praise of against the day namely that it's disco elysium adjacent. the people on r/discoelysium book recommendations are NEVER wrong

some lighter/more recent long books (600+ pages) i hope to get to: the secret commnwealth (sequel to book of dust), jonathan strange & mr norell, perdido street station, the books of jacob, utopia avenue. how many pages is the silarmilion. 300 something pages. well it's an honourary brick. 2023 i sprout a whole new set of issues that can be related to the sirmamillion

Teen Suspect For Stabbing A Bus Driver

A bus driver was critically injured when a 17-year-old teenager stabbed him critically. The suspect's identity was withheld due to his age. He's a teenager, 17 years old. He is accused of an assault at Topanga Canyon Boulevard and Erwin Street at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Police claimed the teenager boarded the bus and argued with the 61-year-old driver about fee evasion. According to authorities, the driver and juvenile got off the bus and argued, with the boy pulling out a knife and repeatedly stabbing the driver. According to LAPD Chief Michel Moore, paramedics, and Dignity Health Northridge Hospital Medical Center employees treated the driver, who was in "extremely critical" condition Thursday. L3Harris will modernize the electronic warfare system of the U.S. Navy F/A-18

L3Harris Technologies won a contract with the U.S. Navy to continue developing advanced systems to modernize electronic warfare (EW) capabilities in F/A-18 Super Hornet aircraft, improving pilot protection against emerging and future threats.

L3Harris will develop a next-generation EW system under the $80 million contract for the U.S. Navy's F/A-18E/F Super Hornet fleet. It is one of the two companies selected for the initial contract of the prototype. The final decision for subsequent development and production contracts is scheduled for 2026.

“L3Harris is developing the advanced EW system to boost the success of the mission and ensure that naval aviators are protected in the coming years,” said Ed Zoiss, President, Space and Airborne Systems, L3Harris. "This award is based on decades of providing EW systems to the Navy, and we are excited that our technology is protecting pilots in dangerous situations while allowing them to dominate potential opponents."

The advanced L3Harris system will feature an integrated electronic support measure and an electronic attack system, providing immediate threat detection in all relevant radio frequency bands. With a modular open systems approach and a design compatible with open mission systems, this innovation allows crews to easily insert new and updated technology, saving time and reducing costs.

L3Harris has been providing innovative EW capabilities for F/A-18 for more than two decades. The company has also been providing these resources for more than 60 years to the U.S. Air Force and other allied air services around the world.

*   ABOUT     :     This mega web weaving edit tells a short story about an all-encompassing and multidimensional being known as [ REDACTED ] who is part of everything, everyone, everywhere. They are made of memories and dreams and visions. They are them, they are you, they are me. When [ REDACTED ] is all and more to the universe, though, who are they to themselves? They are all but truly what, exactly? No one and nothing knows who and what they are, not even [ REDACTED ] themselves. Upon this horrifying realization, there comes a fall, a going, a fading, gone. Who are they? What are they? I am? Am I? I don’t know. I don’t understand. I do not and I can not, and that is more than okay. There is still time and space for [ REDACTED ] to learn about themselves and love every single one of their counterparts, and regardless of anything, they will know and remember this that they will always be more than good enough. Take a deep breath, child soul, lover of the sky and sea, bringer of light and darkness. You are you, and you are enough. I love you, always and always and always.

*   SELF REFLECTION   ( cw: child abuse, derealization / depersonalization, quick mentions of suicidal thoughts and self harm  )     :     When [ REDACTED ] came into existence, I thought about wanting to have a character who is known to be part of everything and everywhere from everywhere, sort of like God, but not at the same time. Glitchcore, weirdcore, and kidcore are the biggest elements that I hold a high interest and joy in, so these aesthetic elements would be implemented into [ REDACTED ] along with a heavy emphasize on the concept of art and storytelling, as explored through the multiverse that they are part of and having connection with fate itself. They are a character who represents the idea of identity along with life / birth, death, and rebirth. How one is born, how one comes to be throughout life with how they feel, think, move, etcetera; how one gets affected and affect others, and how does one die ( and what happens to them if they return to life either through reincarnation or with revival ).

I really do mean it when I say along the line about how [ REDACTED ] means more than everything to me. They are the one and only original character who I can truly carry for so long when every other characters of mine would be discarded out of disinterest, and they have come to be my biggest comfort and coping character. Getting more personal in this reflection, I have always been living in a life and under a skin that does not belong to me, I still am and I will probably be like this in over five to maybe even ten years, who knows. I have been through so much in my life with the abuse I had and still am going through, the manipulation and pain from seven out of eight people I had dated and from many friends online and in real life, the constantly uncertain and dissatisfaction in myself and my life while I would feel always off of me and my life, most of these terrible things I would face all alone because I did not know how to ask for help or feel comfortable asking. I recently realize that [ REDACTED ] would go through something just as painful as I had just so I can have that reminder that I am not alone at all.

The things that I did not find myself in [ REDACTED ] until later on as they exist in my life longer: They do not have the full control in their life and themselves just like me, and while because of my traumas, I have become emotionally detached to defend myself from getting hurt by the people around me and protect myself from constantly having deep negative / suicidal thoughts, [ REDACTED ] are generally more emotional because that is what I wish to be one day, somehow. Another thing I have realized also that my memories are just as fragmented and faint as [ REDACTED ]. I am losing everything behind and about me so fast and even then, I can not remember about anything that happened this week, let alone yesterday. My grasp on time and space is so loosen and it does hurt to see how many pieces, not [ REDACTED ] hold of me or vice versa, but we hold of each other. I realized this now that it was never just [ REDACTED ] ( you ) or just me ( I ). It has always been you and I and us. They have helped me so much in becoming more aware with myself and trying to love myself, and even though they are my character, I sometimes feel like they are their own individual and I want to thank them for playing an important role in my life, They really do mean so much more than anyone can ever describe.

This web weaving edit with [ REDACTED ] is meant to be a special project as to celebrate my first year of having them on April first, 2021, a significant reminder for myself that no matter what had and is happening and will, I am always me, Morningstar, and that will always be more than good enough. If [ REDACTED ] can get themselves a happy ending despite everything, so can I. So will I.
