<CW mention of r*pe on slide 3> Trauma victims and survivors are frequently told we are strong because of what we went through, that our trauma MADE us stronger. Like going through trauma is a badge of honour and increases our strength meter. Like going through trauma is character development. That’s not how it works. I didn’t need to go through trauma to become strong. The strength was always there - and I would rather not have had to use it. Trauma didn’t make me stronger, I had to be in order to survive. #TraumaRecovery #TraumaHealing #TraumaRecovery #PTSDSurvivor #PTSDRecovery #YouDidntDeserveIt #PTSD #cPTSD #TraumaDidntMakeMeStronger #MentalHealthSupport ID Slide 1 / An illustration drawn by me @tovahsfine of a yt femme with long blue hair giving the middle finger. Absolutely <100 emoji> But is this safe for me as a marginalized person? Is this feasible for me as a trauma survivor? Rhaphidaphora tetrasperma update. Growing VERY well! Originally I was going to snip the top when it reached the ceiling but decided against it and letting it grow across the wall instead, definitely no regrets. 🌱
Well I didn’t take this Rhaphy out of its pot for awhile. Honestly I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do with it.
But today I finally figured it out. I wrapped up this piece of wood in some twine so the aerial roots have something to grab onto and actually potted him down probably about an inch into a very well draining soil.
In his original pot the soil looked ready to be watered but I’m really glad I held off because the whole bottom of the pot was still wet. There was no aeration and this plant hasn’t developed very big roots yet.
So anyway I hope he’s happy now, I’ve also got him under better light. I’m just glad he was patient enough to let me figure out what I wanted to do with him first. 😅
