Robohead Commission - Anon

A friend of mine was struggling to design their own robohead helmet, so they commissioned me to help them out with that! Their constraints were that they already had the visor, and that they wanted to stick to as many flat surfaces as possible, for ease of making!

Finished this on October 19th, 2023.

Below the cut are some alternate looks that we went through!

Initially, there was the idea of having a halo, but it ended up not looking good.

After that pick, the initial horns broke off, and I took that opportunity to try designing some alternative mounts.

This one ended up looking more like bunny ears, heh

Then, there was one final variation on this where I made versions of these, carved into horn-ish designs, but they still ended up looking like ears.

An Epiphany - Fallout 4 Sole Survivor Journal

Fallout 4 Fanfiction containing in-game spoilers.

circa January 11th, 2288

I clenched my jaw with frustration. We were too fucking late. Ticonderoga Safehouse had been discovered and completely dismantled by one courser and a couple handfuls of roboheads. No survivors, and thanks to yours truly, that goes for the Institute’s numbers as well. But for what? There were plenty of guards; I just can’t understand why they couldn’t hold them off... A bunch of damn farmers playing a game they aren’t cut out to compete in, I suppose. Hancock and I breezed through the Institute lackeys in no time, despite their superiority in numbers. Why isn’t Dez sending stronger people to hold down such an important point for us? Do we even have anyone stronger? Now even if we had pulled any of our men out of there, one more of our locations are now exposed. I’m beginning to think the Railroad doesn’t have what it takes to defeat the Institute. And from what I’ve heard Dez go on about, she’s willing to sacrifice every member’s life to safe a couple of synths with a big attack.

Well, not mine.

Maybe the whole idea of working with the Railroad was a bad one. Don’t get me wrong, I like the dedication. I can’t blame them for finding anything at all to find passion for during a time like this. But maybe the best way to save synths is to ensure that more aren’t produced. These Railroad squirts don’t have the numbers or the fire power to wipe them out, much less the organization to clean up the aftermath. Realistically, the Institute is all over the Commonwealth and we will need some pretty intense formation to find and exterminate the last of them, even if we somehow figured out how to completely destroy the base of the Institute. 

The fire is glowing, and I can see Hancock slumped against a fallen tree, swaying his head back and forth to the radio. Looks like he took a hit of Med-X. Relaxed. But he’s like me; he’s using it to get away from shit. He looks at ease, but I know that inside, he’s throwing himself around, picturing himself in past situations, or alternate ones where he could have made a better decision.

Like if I had made it to Ticonderoga in time. I could have helped High Rise hold them off and we could have actually saved those people, those synths, what all of this is actually about. 

Now I’m looking at myself, sitting here by the fire, feeling the chill in my bones and I’m wondering if I’ll look back on this moment and judge whether or not I made the best decision. Shaun may as well be dead. Frankly, I got used to the idea long before I knew he was alive at all. When I learned Kellogg had him and that he was working with the Institute, I figured whatever kid I met wouldn’t be anything I could recognize as my own. Now he’s a grown man, may as well be an enemy. It sounds harsh, but that’s everything this world has offered me after I stepped out of that damn icebox. Everything’s a disappointment so far. But somehow, I’ve found myself in positions to steer things in what could be considered the right direction. So now the big question is this... Is the Railroad cut out to be the helm? 

In the distance, I can see that huge airship. I’ve avoided them thus far. But I didn’t realize how ridiculously powerful the Institute was until I was in there. Nate was in the military, and I know military power wherever I see it. The worst that could happen is I meet a bunch of squares and decide to figure it out on my own anyways. Surely they’ve got something cooking against the Institute, there’s no other force here worth all that trouble. I gotta find out.

Travis just sparked up over the radio. Hancock is looking a bit loopy. Nothing a couple shots of whiskey won’t fix. I found a bottle of some good stuff in that old taphouse. Here’s to you, Ticonderoga.
