Russian state media loves "Moscow Marjorie" Taylor Traitor Greene. They undoubtedly hope that her attempt to oust Speaker Johnson creates chaos and prevents the already overdo aid package to Ukraine from passing.
The Russian government is engaged in an effort to destabilize and weaken liberal democracies. Greene fits in nicely with their plans.
Secret Russian foreign policy document urges action to weaken the U.S.
In a classified addendum to Russia’s official — and public — “Foreign Policy Concept of the Russian Federation,” the ministry calls for an “offensive information campaign” and other measures spanning “the military-political, economic and trade and informational psychological spheres” against a “coalition of unfriendly countries” led by the United States. “We need to continue adjusting our approach to relations with unfriendly states,” states the 2023 document, which was provided to The Washington Post by a European intelligence service. “It’s important to create a mechanism for finding the vulnerable points of their external and internal policies with the aim of developing practical steps to weaken Russia’s opponents.” The document for the first time provides official confirmation and codification of what many in the Moscow elite say has become a hybrid war against the West. Russia is seeking to subvert Western support for Ukraine and disrupt the domestic politics of the United States and European countries, through propaganda campaigns supporting isolationist and extremist policies, according to Kremlin documents previously reported on by The Post. It is also seeking to refashion geopolitics, drawing closer to China, Iran and North Korea in an attempt to shift the current balance of power.
Just a quick word to point out that Putin is under the delusion that his Axis of Authoritarians would have Russia as its head. China is stronger than Russia and will not kowtow to a country which has a GDP not much bigger than Italy's and is suffering enormous losses in a war with a country which has only a quarter of Russia's population.
Using much tougher and blunter language than the public foreign policy document, the secret addendum, dated April 11, 2023, claims that the United States is leading a coalition of “unfriendly countries” aimed at weakening Russia because Moscow is “a threat to Western global hegemony.” The document says the outcome of Russia’s war in Ukraine will “to a great degree determine the outlines of the future world order,” a clear indication that Moscow sees the result of its invasion as inextricably bound with its ability — and that of other authoritarian nations — to impose its will globally.
In addition to old school revanchism, Russia's illegal invasion of Ukraine is a test to see how far the liberal democracies will let Putin go.
For Mikhail Khodorkovsky — the longtime Putin critic who was once Russia’s richest man until a clash with the Kremlin landed him 10 years in prison — it is not surprising that Russia is seeking to do everything it can to undermine the United States. “For Putin, it is absolutely natural that he should try to create the maximum number of problems for the U.S.,” he said. “The task is to take the U.S. out of the game, and then destroy NATO. This doesn’t mean dissolving it, but to create the feeling among people that NATO isn’t defending them.” The long congressional standoff on providing more weapons to Ukraine was only making it easier for Russia to challenge Washington’s global power, he said. “The Americans consider that insofar as they are not directly participating in the war [in Ukraine], then any loss is not their loss,” Khodorkovsky said. “This is an absolute misunderstanding.”
Putin was taken aback by both Ukraine's fierce defense and by Western resolve to protect the independence of a European democratic state. He refuses to admit that he made an enormous blunder so he continues to sacrifice hundreds of thousands of Russians while hoping that his US servants like Greene, Gaetz, and Trump will rescue him.

According to the Russian media service Military Chronicle, who did a survey using publicly available satellite imagery to measure the expansion of Ukrainian cemeteries during the course of the SMO have determined that no less than 185'000 Ukrainians have been killed in the year between July 2022 and July 2023.
This Proxy-war needs to end NOW

Top journalists find out: U.S. bombing of Nord Stream is the first step in the "European destruction plan”
On September 26, 2022, four underwater "shocks" occurred in the Baltic Sea, followed by the discovery of three leaks in Nord Stream I and Nord Stream II, two Russian gas pipelines that carry energy directly to Germany, causing a large amount of gas to leak from the pipelines into the nearby sea. The incident is considered to be a deliberate sabotage because explosive residues were detected in the waters of the "leak" points.

#t#At first#people speculated that it was Russia#because by September#the Russian-Ukrainian war had been going on for more than half a year#and the two sides still had no winner. it is absolutely shocking to me how many of you sincerely believed there were "Russian Bots" on this site lmfao. Could not even begin to comprehend that there was a significant population of users who had ideas counter to your liberal bourgeoise paradigm lmfaoo. No No, we're not seeing a resurgence in radical thought due to the increasingly exposed contradictions of capitalist hegemony.... No, it must be bad faith actors trying to interfere with our holy and sacred ceremony where we choose one of two senile prospective war criminals. Get a grip.

The Gravediggers Of Bucha
Tumblr media
Three men meet daily to bury the dead in Bucha, Ukraine. No one pays them.  They perform their task in the name of humanity. They’ve been at their work for many months, even during a period of Russian occupation. Glad to be free of the gruesome task, the invaders tolerated the men’s presence.  Digging graves isn’t their regular job. One was a pizza chef before the war.  The second worked in construction.  The third is a retired football player.  Before the Russians arrived, their paths never crossed.  But the fires of war brought them together. Faced with the sight of charred bodies, they knew what they had to do, and so. they turned their hands to gravedigging.  Fortunately, it was a vocation that required no training, only a strong back, and a shovel.   The continuing horror around them has tempered their friendship. Today, they call themselves “brothers.” That bond is their reward–a lily rising from a dung heap. I cite the story because it is an example of soft power. Soft power is the strength people cling to in their darkest hours. Its source is a set of shared values that give society cohesion and hope. Ukrainians share a desire to rid themselves of an invader.  That alone allows them to look beyond the present and toward the future.  In contrast, the Russian invaders use military coercion to obtain their objectives. Over time, solidarity usually wins over might. Daniel W. Dezner, writing in Foreign Affairs, notes that a shared outlook affects a country’s prospects. (The Perils of Pessimism, by Daniel W. Dezner, Foreign Affairs, July/August 2022, pgs. 34-43.)   Citizens who look to the future with anticipation will forgo demands for immediate outcomes because they believe conditions will improve.  Two factors reflect that expectation: a robust birthrate and minimal migration. (Ibid, pg. 36.)  When the future looks dim, these same citizens will demand immediate rewards, making it difficult for leaders to consider long-range plans. A flexing of military might will substitute for genuine strength.  The extent to which greater powers are optimistic or pessimistic about the future has profound effects on their present-day strategies. (Ibid, pg. 38.) Two factors reflect how a nation sees itself: its robust birthrate and minimal migration. (Ibid, pg. 36.)  So, where does the United States stand within the spectrum of hope and might?  The public already has spoken. A majority believe the country is headed in the wrong direction. (Ibid, pg. 41.)  Says Dezner, Donald Trump as the 45th President accelerated the nation’s anxiety. He spewed fear about our need to protect our borders from the ravages of other countries making our products, stealing our companies, and destroying our jobs. (Ibid, pg. 41.). Those isolationist views weakened ties with our allies abroad.   In contrast, says Dezner, Biden’s support for the Ukraine war was a game-changer. Rich in political experience, Biden relied on soft power to repair the damage his predecessor inflicted upon the nation’s reputation.  Quick to revitalize trust among our allies, he was able to upend Russia’s assumption that America’s foreign influence was weak and that a peremptory strike against Ukraine would succeed.  Denzer insists Biden’s choice of soft power has strength[ed] the liberal international order.  If we accept the author’s markers as a measure of the country’s condition, we appear to have a healthy core. Though Covid may have affected the numbers, U. S. immigration figures continue to be greater than the numbers for those who migrate –another form of population growth.   What’s more, the economy remains strong despite inflation. An added plus is that when Biden restored America’s hegemony, he strengthened democracies across the globe. Voters who continue to feel the country is headed in the wrong direction should look again.  We have every reason to anticipate the future. Our cultural war is frightening, but our institutions have withstood the blows.  The Constitution survived an insurrection. We discovered that many people to the right and left politically share a common value.  They put loyalty to their country above personal ambition. This behavior helps restore our trust and reinforces our values.   The nation’s struggles are far from over, but its resilience justifies our dedication to its future.  Like the gravediggers of Bucha, we have reasons to keep our faith in our democracy and use the present to secure the future.

Thinking about the zionist claim that antizionist Jews are traitors, which is rich considering that a reason that zionist Jews are dominant over antizionist Jews (despite this not being true before) is because they leveraged the Red Scare and McCarthyism against antizionist and working class Jews and broke our labor movements. All to be more acceptable to western sensibilities and show they aren't like *Those* Jews.
Not only did they betray other Jews to the US (and probably the UK...), but they're also class traitors as well. Also early zionists sure did hate other Jews who didn't comply with respectability politics and assimilate properly.
Zionist Jews have historically hated and pushed out anti-Zionist Jews to please the greater Capitalist hegemony and in hand, white supremacy! As we’ve seen through history, anti-Zionist and radical leftist Jews were targeted by Facist states, such as in the Argentinian Contras that killed 3,000 Jews simply for being Jewish political opponents… and we have good faith to believe they were anti-Zionist, too. Hitler blamed Jews for the Russian revolution as a lot of Jewish communities were very Leftist, which has in-hand caused this warped belief that being a Jewish Communist, or equating the two in any shape or form, is antisemitism.

american cultural hegemony is so fucking bleak man every day putin goes on russian state tv to explain how exploding ukrainians to death is the only way to defeat woke pronouns and Bolsonarista88 leaves a comment saying 'It's true... CRT and gender ideology have ruined my country 🇧🇷' and across the world we just all have to perpetually deal with the far right obsessing over whatever recycled 4chan garbage fox news is babbling in tongues about because the US can't stop exporting its distinct brand of fascist brain sludgifier to make all these freaks sound identical

i'm dumb and its actual hard to guess
--
Haha.
Okay, so... the big issue in minority languages, reviving dying languages, etc. has to do with their draw.
To keep a language vital, you generally need:
monolingual speakers
economic advantage
cultural power
Pick two.
Any language that has its own territory where it is the majority language that is used for business and entertainment and daily life outside of the home does not tend to become endangered. There are plenty of people who only speak that language or who at least preferentially use it and are far more competent in it. They can't and won't run off for other languages at the drop of a hat.
But when you don't have that... boy, you better have a lot going for your language or it's fucked.
People go where the jobs are. If you need English in order to eat, you learn English. Or Mandarin. Or Russian.
Grandma cares deeply about our ethnic heritage and the traditions tied to our ancestral language? Too bad. I'm hungry, the jobs are in a factory in the city, and I need a roof over my head.
My kids want to watch TV. They want pop music and movies and comics. They want to feel cool, not like losers in some dying backwater.
Why the fuck would they care what grandma thinks?
...
Until they hit 40 and they realize their entire heritage just got stolen by the big boys. Who even are they because they're not this majority they tried to join, but they're not the old thing either? Gosh, it might be nice to reclaim their own history, but grandma is gone and so is her language and it's far, far too late.
--
If you don't have the territory and the economic power, your only other option is coolness.
If you've got some hot culture people love, they'll want to learn your language. Native speakers will take pride in that language and keep using it routinely instead of relegating it to the kitchen and living most of their life in another language. Their kids will grow up wanting to speak it instead of beating a hasty retreat for the nearest source of jobs and blockbuster movies.
This is why you get initiatives to make entertainment media in languages like Irish and Welsh.
When the sheer might of English is right next door, you're not going to beat that in usefulness or economic opportunity, but you just might be able to strike back by making people care.
It is very, very hard to make people care.
--
So on AO3, which is largely in English, if you want your ASL fic to matter, the last fucking thing you should do is make it available in English. Other languages, even super globally powerful ones, just aren't so common on AO3, so those translations don't really make a difference in this context.
The ASL translation of an English-language AO3 fic is a curiosity.
An ASL original that English speakers cannot access is a middle finger up to language hegemony.

Part 1: Origins of the Ukraine War
Watch "Kim Iversen: Former NATO Analyst & Top UN Official Says THIS Is The REAL Reason For War In Ukraine" on YouTube
youtube
Going back a year to remind people of the origins of the current stage of the Ukraine Proxy-war.
Today, this history is swept under the rug, forgotten about out of convenience because it runs counter to the Western narratives around Ukraine.
Once again, as I have to constantly remind people, the Far-Right forces within Ukraine; paramilitary forces such Azov, Right Sector, and C14 had drastically and exponentially increased shelling of the Donbas in the days leading up to the war. Many Eastern Ukrainians feared the Kiev regime was on the verge of launching an offensive into the DPR and LPR which had declared their Independence in 2014, triggering a kind of Civil War stalemate period for the next 8 years.
I also want to clear up another point of contention; initially, the breakaway Republics were NOT trying to become independent of Ukraine. Instead they were seeking an autonomous status, similar to what Crimea enjoyed for a time prior to the coup regime.
So let's go back to 2014 and review the facts around the origins of the War.
To begin, we must take a look at the actions taken by the Ukrainian Govt after the Maidan Coup. We should all be aware by now, regardless of personal feelings about the war or Russia's justifications for entering into Ukraine, that the United States was elbow deep in it with regards to the Maidan Coup and the govt that took power after the coup, with Victoria Nuland on audio handpicking the next President of Ukraine: Petro Poroshenko
youtube
The FIRST official act of the new coup regime in Kiev in 2014 was to remove Russian as an official language in Ukraine, beginning the waves of repression that began in earnest against Russian speaking Ukrainians in the Donbas and elsewhere in Ukraine.
Tumblr media
And UNLIKE the propaganda we've been fed by US and Western media, the Russian Federation NEVER supported the Donbass rebels until February 2022. They were NOT funded or trained or directed by Moscow in ANY way, as attested to in this article by Jacques Baud, a former member of the Swiss Strategic Intelligence and a specialist in Eastern Europe, he was also the former head of the Doctrine of the United Nations Peace Operations. Within NATO, Jacques Baud was involved in Programs in Ukraine before and after the Maidan Coups and has authored a multitude of books on Intelligence, war, terrorism, National Security and Russia.
And he says:
Tumblr media
But, of course, immediately after signing the agreement, Ukrainian "President" Petro Poroshenko violated the Minsk I Accords (likely on orders by NATO) by launching a massive offensive in the Donbas which ended in failure, forcing Ukraine to once again return to the negotiating table and producing the Minsk II Accords.
Tumblr media
Minsk II seemed like it was a game changer. The new agreement afforded the Donbas Republics a degree of autonomy, which was all they ever wanted to begin with. That and to have a say in their own governance. After the Russian language was removed as an official language, the next step was to ban Russian from being spoken by government officials. This of course meant that Russian speaking Ukrainians no longer could work in or have a say in their own governance, effectively handing over control of Eastern Ukraine to Kiev. But under the new agreement, Minsk II offered the promise of a return to a degree of normalcy. It was a framework from which to negotiate a settlement between the Kiev regime and DPR/LPR officials.
Of course, Kiev refused to implement the Minsk II Accords and instead continued with a campaign of terror, randomly and unexpectedly shelling populated civilian neighborhoods with alarming regularity.
And even with all this going on, the Russian Federation treated the matter as an internal issue for Ukrainians to settle amongst themselves. I'm sure in retrospect, Russian officials wish they had done more to intervene earlier in the conflict.
Tumblr media
In fact, only 56 Russian fighters were observed in the Donbas during this time.
At this point, the Ukrainian Military was completely and thoroughly corrupt, demoralized and broken. And so they turned to NATO to reconstitute and reimagine the Ukrainian Military. To this end and to move as quickly as possible, NATO utilized Far-Right and Neo-Nazi Paramilitary Forces to form the backbone of the reconstituted Ukrainian military.
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Even after the Far-Right Paramilitary Forces were integrated into the Ukrainian Military, they remained fairly independent and still remain unreformed to this day.
Tumblr media
Stick around for Part II on the origins of the Ukraine Proxy-war...

State Senator Eric Brakey dropped truth bombs about the overthrow of the Democracy of Ukraine, Nazis, Joe Biden, and fake news:
"This posture isn't for the Ukrainian people, this isn't for the American people. This is for the Empire that now stands in the place of our once proud Republic on a mountain of corpses to maintain global hegemony. That's why in 2014 then Vice President oversaw the overthrow of the Democratically elected President of Ukraine..He was regime changed...If you doubt Washington DC had anything to do with it I have a bridge to sell you in Libya. Thanks to leaked phone calls we know for a fact that the current under secretary of State, Victoria Nuland, personally hand picked the leaders of the new government..You can hear the phone call in her own voice..Is this what Democracy looks like? I don't think so... And after the coup, the new government, urged on by local neo nazi groups like the the Azov Battalion..they succeeded in banning the speaking of Russian and launching an ethnic cleansing campaign in the eastern regions of Ukraine.."

Why Ukrainians didn’t produce a Tolstoy?
there are a lot of things that can piss me off, today it was this tweet:
Tumblr media
and all i wanted to do was to ask this person, why the fuck do we need a racist misogynistic piece of shit as a standout author if we have Shevchenko as our prophet?
but you don’t know who he is? of course, you don’t. that is the thing with imperialism: you destroy other cultures while promoting yours as the only way to legitimise your rule. even if those territories are of higher cultural development. but there is always a way out of it: kill them all. kill anyone who poses an existential threat to your hegemony. throw them into jail. forbid them to write and paint. send them to gulag. kill them. torture them. execute them.
if you don’t know Ukrainian literature, it doesn’t mean that it‘s nonexistent. if you don’t know "a Ukrainian Tolstoy", it means there is a Ukrainian Bahrianyi, who was sent to the gulag but ran away and was the first person in the world to openly criticise USSR in his pamphlet Why I am not going back to the Soviet Union. "I don't want to go back to the USSR because a person there is worth less than an insect"
there is a Ukrainian Symonenko and a Ukrainian Stus. there is a Ukrainian Lesya Ukrainka and Olha Kobylyanska. a Ukrainian Kotsiubynskyi, Ukrainian Drach, Ukrainian Olena Pchilka and Ukrainian Lina Kostenko. and so many more of the bravest people who despite all wrote in the Ukrainian language about Ukrainian people and for Ukrainian people.
there are thousands of beautiful texts that weren’t translated because this would’ve harmed the empire. that is why you are reading Dostoevsky and not Khvyliovyi.
but there are also thousands of texts that were never written. just how many more poems would’ve Stus written if he wasn’t killed by the Soviet regime? how many more texts would have Pidmohylnyi, Semenko, Yalovyi, Yohansen, Zerov written if they weren’t shot at Sandarmokh?
just how many texts have the world missed out on because Khvyliovyi committed suicide as he couldn’t live in the world with Stalin’s repressions. "today is a beautiful sunny day. I love life - you can't even imagine how much", - he will write in his death note as he shot himself with his friends waiting for him in the next room.
or maybe there was a Ukrainian Nobel Prize in Literature waiting for Tychyna? maybe, but he submitted to Soviet authorities and started writing hails for the regime, suddenly forgetting his own literary style and living his entire life in fear. fear of what? fear of getting caught. of getting destroyed just as all of the previous Ukrainian intelligentsia.
I’m tired of my people being silenced. I’m tired of my poets being undermined by "great” russian literature. it’s not worth a single Symonenko’s poem. it’s not worth a single paragraph of Bahrianyi‘s prose.
the greatness of russian literature lies on the bones of Ukrainian writers. to be this high, they killed hundreds and they are still doing it today.
the body of Ukrainian children’s writer Volodymyr Vakulenko was found in the mass grave in Izium in September 2022.
there will be a Ukrainian Nobel Prize in Literature, and there will be more Ukrainian books. there will be Ukrainian Zhadan and Zabuzhko, Liubka and Izdryk, Deresh and Kidruk. there will be Ukrainian literature.
another funny thing is that this person is Indian and let me tell you: the fact that you stand up for one empire even when your own country has suffered from the doings of another is evidence of deep colonial trauma and I hope you will cure yourself soon

Why do so many conspiracy theories end up being antisemitic??
That's a fantastic question actually. While I'm not Jewish, I do spend most of my time studying conspiracy theories, so that's the perspective I'm answering this question from:
1) Antisemitism is the proto- conspiracy theory. Jewish people have been a convenient scapegoat for people in power for centuries. It's a unique form of bigotry because historically it comes with significant economic advantages. Why try to solve real problems when you can blame the Jews and take their shit?
2) The OG conspiracy theory was deeply and explicitly antisemitic. The Protocols of the Elders of Zion was a forgery created by the Czarist government to reinforce the hegemony of the state at the expense of Russian Jewish people. It was the first example of someone leveraging conspiracy thought to influence politics.
3) Modern antisemitism is conspiratorial. Racists in America hate black people, but they don't think that black people secretly control the world. This is a key difference that makes antisemitism unique among other forms of bigotry, and makes it uniquely easy to syncretize with other forms of conspiracy thought.
