Baa(a) and Pet later settled on Neptune from Mars and had triplets Salah, Selah, and Silah.

Selah had Yuki

Yuki and Galen had Ashtra

Ashtra moved to Jupiter and her and Io had Anastasia.

And that is where we are now.

I've had visitors from females from the same family throughout this life. When I was a teen it was Baa(a) and Selah. We went years without and then a year or so ago there was Yuki...additional keep showing up.

The Stars and the Trees by The Lighthouse and the Whaler

Underneath all the stars and the trees Theirs more to see 

I like having songs that remind of all of Luka’s life and this one of them. This song really reminds of Luka place of origin. Growing up in the Shroud under all the stars and trees, but it isn’t a place where Luka is at anymore. Luka was  was so cowardly and scared and gentle with a deep connection to nature, but Luka as an adult is just the opposite of all that, so that is why this song inspires me for Luka. 

This Is an Adventure by The Lighthouse and the Whaler

you've got green eyes ... the wind between the trees and open skies I know oh, I know this is the best ... the summer drives us you half remember under the warm light..

This song relates to Luka on so many points. First, my favorite thing about Luka is their green eyes. Luka’s stim is wind blowing through trees and tall grass. Also Wind represents wandering and wandering is a big part of Luka’s life. The other part of Luka’s life is adventure which is the title of song, but in Literature summer is symbol for adventure. And adventure is a big motivation for Luka just like the lyric. The half remember relates on how Luka kinda just remember half their life. Also is a thing in my writing that Luka feels moonlight as warmth instead of cool. Also those lines together just represents how Luka doesn’t remember things because the Mephina just represses Luka’s meomries.

This song relates to how Luka chose to be the Warrior of Light. Luka aspires to be a great hero, because otherwise they are fighting for nothing at all. Luka really just fights because its their only way forward. If Luka couldn’t be a hero I don’t know what would happen to them.

This song inspires me on some major parts of Luka’s faith in the moon. Menphina’s curse on Luka memories and emotions is a blessing when comes to all the fighting Luka does. All the pain, hate, anger gets repressed every night and Mephina only releases the emotions when Luka is in battle with nothing else to go on. Therefore, Luka is always so astonished when they met non-believes, but of course not everyone has a god looking out for them. Luka believes in the moon, because the moon believes in Luka. This kinda the opposite of what the chosen lyrics are about, but the literal meaning inspires The HalfMoon AU a lot, so it counts both ways.

Warriors by Imagine Dragons

Here we are, don't turn away now We are the warriors that built this town From dust. Will come When you'll have to rise Above the best and prove yourself Your spirit never dies!

This song relates to relates to Luka becoming the Warrior of Light. Every time I hear those lyrics I can see Luka going from a wandering adventurer to the hero of Eorzea. And what being The Warrior of Light really must mean to Luka. They truly never give up because people rely on them. One day I will write about it.

This song is captures how trauma effects Luka with Mephina’s blessing. I always have this vision when I hear this song of Luka losing a loved one as the moon comes out. Luka goes through the grieving process in half a second right into acceptance. It just highlights how Luka is denied of having emotions, but also saved from pain.

Another song that relates to how Luka goes from adventurer to the warrior of light. Its an origin story really because it reminds me of the Battle of Carteneau when Bahamut comes out of the moon and everyone begins to run, but the warriors stay and charge forward. It was a resonating moment with me that created most of Luka’s character. These lines of this song remind me of how Luka needs to be that warrior that charges forward into hopeless danger when everyone else runs away.

I write so many sad endings for Luka, the happiest ending I wrote is one when they became too injured to fight and became a farmer like they never knew they wanted. Then I heard this song and realized Luka just needs friends that will roam and be warriors with Luka. This just inspires me so much to give Luka their happy ending because happy endings are important and necessary.

This piece just really embodies what a battle feels for Luka. Its is everything at once and everything must be given and they just can’t give up and love it for that very reason. It is everything they live for in one moment.

These lyrics in particular relates to Luka’s optimistic view on living. In general this song was chosen specifically for the post the title is linked with. Link from Legend of Zelda is one of my big role models for Luka. The song accompanied by the illustration is just about Link going through defeat and struggles to achieve an impossible goal on the speakers request and just kinda the opposite of how Luka approaches battle. Luka is invigorated by fighting and they really do it for nothing. However, for both the song reflects never giving up which is the essence of Luka’s character and Link’s.

Voice References:

1. The biggest inspiration for Yume’s voice is the Chinese actress Zhang Ziyi (if you have followed me long enough, this shouldn’t be a surprise lol!). Here in this first clip, you see how she has the proper accent, and her voice is soft, musical, and breathy. Her voice was one of the things that really inspired me to create Yume in the first place. This clip is from Memoirs of a Geisha.

2. This next clip gives you a better feel for when Yume is angry and her emotions are running high. You really get a feel for it starting at 0:22 seconds in. This clip is also from Memoirs of a Geisha.

3. This last clip shows how Yume’s voice changes while in battle and/or when she’s being aggressive and intimidating. I call it the “warrior voice”. 😊 This clip is from Rush Hour 2.
