Yesterday I learnt something new..... I used to say you don't necessarily need friends or people ...... (new or old) But i have learnt first hand that this statement is false.. We need just the right number of good people with good intentions.... Running down memory lane last night made me realise, all these memories we cherish and share, were made with people, and all the good laughs and conversations we shared was with people . . Be it family , friends or acquaintances, we need people.... do your self a favour and find you the right ones... there are still a few great people out there... me inclusive😋 I feel totally blessed with the few people I have in my corner.... I am so lucky and I will never be ungrateful... #gratefulheart #goodintentions #onbecomingintentional #happinessambassador #shareagoodstory #goodtimes #greatvibes #shereads #memorylane https://www.instagram.com/p/CfD5DPtru_Be538uLUNYsFrZp2TuWRxOQdVKkU0/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

So, I really like Cult of the Lamb and have also been thinking about an AU for that, because why the heck not?
Anyway, the lamb's name is Lucille, Lucy for short.
She was always...odd.
Lucy was presumed stillborn, but after getting a clot of blood out of their throat, she finally began to cry. But she didn't cry much after that, staying silent and wide-eyed, as though she knew her flock was on the run, fleeing from the followers of the Old Faith.
As the flock hid away, they all had to become more resourceful and hardworking. Quietly, they gathered food, farmed crops, and built huts for themselves. As Lucy got older, She also learned these skills, becoming more well-rounded than the others because, for reasons unknown, she was quite adamant about acquiring knowledge.
Sheread during their leisure time, not often speaking to others. Instead, she would quietly smile when amongst the others, seeming satisfied with just enjoying the company.
Consequently, no one really knew Lucy's likes or dislikes. They didn't know what her favorite food was, what colors she preferred, or what sorts of hobbies she liked the most. Unlike most other lambs, she was happy being quiet and working like the older sheep.
Then, the disappearances began, and the flock had to move again. And again. And again.
They kept escaping, but with each escape, their flock became smaller and smaller. Even if they found another flock and joined together, eventually, members would start disappearing once again.
Eventually, Lucy's mother disappeared while out gathering food. Lucy's father was long dead before she could meet him, and she had no siblings. And so, Lucy became an orphan, but because she was useful and had many skills, even the more naturalist sheep who suggested leaving the weak behind would firmly assert that Lucy must stay with the flock.
So, Lucy watched as the elderly sheep slowly fell to the wayside, getting left behind when the flock moved. Lambs who ate into their resources and provided few benefits. Anyone who suddenly became disabled one way or another. The flock whittled down until very few were left.
Mostly rams, a few ewe, and Lucy, the only lamb.
Once, when fleeing, one of the rams kicked a ewe (Yana) in the leg, causing her to trip and fall. Lucy was too far ahead to reach back and help, and so, the group ran, leaving Yana as bait for their pursuer.
Another time, the two remaining ewe and two of the four rams decided to tie up the ram that kicked Yana and leave him (Haris) to die.
The one who hadn't agreed with the plan (Mahan) was the next ram they left, poisoning his food so he was too sick to keep up.
Lucy acted as though she didn't notice these things. She didn't participate in planning these betrayals, but she kept in mind who came up with the idea and who agreed. She watched what sorts of behaviors would come from the ones making suggestions, what made them most agreeable.
And Lucy wondered if it was time for them to leave when the eyes of the leader (Paschar) landed on them in consideration.
That night, the other ram (Rufeal) attempted to cripple them as she was fishing. He wasn't very large, smaller than Paschar and not as attractive, according to the ewe (Ophiel and Asna). She could gather what was actually happening.
While Paschar had been looking at her, it wasn't to kick her out. Rather, it was him considering who, if anyone, he should shear from the flock to keep her around. Rufeal, having seen that look and believing his lack of knowledge was outgrowing the benefit of his strength, decided to rid himself of the competition.
"Foolish," she thought, watching Rufeal's blood seep into the water, fishing wire entangled around his bleeding ankle, his face caved in with a large stone.
Staying around was foolish.
Lucy gathered her things in the quiet of the night, stealing resources from the disordinate flock, and fled into the darkness of the forest.
Wouldn't it have been so much easier to survive if they all worked together? Wouldn't it have been easier to value the elderly and the children? How else would they rekindle the flock's numbers? Wouldn't it have been better to find a way to escape the Lands of the Old Faith and flourish in one of their own?
So, she quickly and quietly search. For days, weeks, perhaps even months, she looked for the exit, for the way to escape.
But just when she thought she found it, she was caught. Surrounded, really. And Lucy knew well that she was not strong enough to fight back.
"Ah..." she thought, "...So this is it."
She was bound in chains and led back into the deep of the Lands of the Old Faith. While she did not often wear many expressions, she did look very upset. After all, she had been so close. Lucy could practically smell the outer lands, free of the full control of the Bishops.
Upon reaching the place she would finally die, she saw all the bones. So many bones in the terrible, wretched place. Many of them had horns, twisting or standing straight, with the teeth of a herbivore.
As Lucy walked the path to her death, she realized this was the same path all the other sheep before her had walked. The same path that led them to their doom. Lucy could not escape it either.
She stared forward at the Bishops once at the altar, listening as they spoke amongst themselves about the reason she had to watch all her kinsfolk disappear.
Killed to prevent a prophecy.
However, she also learned that she was the last one.
The last lamb, the last of their kind.
"So, the others died," she thought, forced to kneel with her head over the edge of a hard, blood-soaked stone. "And I am all that remains."
She let out a laugh, eyes open wide and bloodshot, tears running down her cheeks.
She could finally cry once again.
...
After the sharp pain of having their head separated from their body, she blinks, finding herself in a white place full of tinkling chains.
She walks to path forward to a figure not too unlike the Bishop.
The large one calls himself The One Who Waits, a veiled servant on each side of their bound body. He speaks to her in honeyed words dripping with poison. Promises the restoration of her life so long as she agrees to do all that he asks. When given a 'choice,' there isn't an option for refusal.
Lucy stares...then puts on a smile, not saying anything before bowing before the Bishop.
What good would refusal do when in front of a Bishop wearing the fleece and blood of her kinsfolk?
The One Who Waits bestows the Red Crown to her, and she feels an immediate connection. Almost as though reuniting with an old friend she never met.
Lucy will allow herself to be used, for now.
In the end, however, it will only be fair if she decides to take back everything stolen from them.

In this hilarious and joyous rom com, sparks fly when a piano genius and a Hollywood heartthrob are thrown together for a charity performance of solos, heartfelt duets, and a big, showstopping finale. Quito Cruz might be a genius piano player and composer in New York City now but it doesn’t mean that he’s any closer to his Broadway dream. Although Quito knows what the problem is. Or rather who. Because ever since that night in college—with pretty-boy jock Emmett Aoki—his inspiration has been completely MIA . .  .
Now Quito’s dad wants him to put on a charity performance in his hometown. And there’s one hella big string attached: convince Emmett—now one of Hollywood’s hottest celebrities—to perform.
It’s all shaping up to be the biggest musical fiasco of Quito’s life. Especially when Emmett agrees to attend, and Quito realizes that undeniable vibe between them is stronger than ever. Because there’s nothing simple about falling for a movie star . . . even when he’s pitch-perfect.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to star in Netflix movie | Fortune
"The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s media company, Archewell Productions, bought the rights to the novel and will work with streaming giant Netflix to produce a movie adaption, Penguin Random House confirmed on Wednesday.
Meet Me at the Lake, written by Carley Fortune, is a love story about a couple, Will and Fern, who meet and fall in love in a whirlwind 24 hours before having to part. The two promise to meet a year later, but when Will seemingly stands Fern up, it’s another 10 years before their paths cross again.
Though the story isn’t about being royal, the main characters have many undeniable similarities to Harry and Meghan. For starters, the book is set in Toronto, where Meghan spent seven years filming the television series Suits. It addresses postpartum depression, which Meghan spoke about in a 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey. And Will wrestles with the loss of a parent from an automobile accident, a direct parallel to Harry’s mother, Diana, Princess of Wales, who famously died during a paparazzi car chase in 1997.
“I’m so thrilled about working with Netflix and Archewell to bring Meet Me at the Lake to the screen,” the book author Fortune told Vogue. “Will and Fern’s love story is dear to my heart, and I can’t imagine a more perfect partnership.”

"A random connection sends two strangers on a daylong adventure where they make a promise one keeps and the other breaks, with life-changing effects, in this breathtaking new novel from the New York Times bestselling author of Every Summer After.
Fern Brookbanks has wasted far too much of her adult life thinking about Will Baxter. She spent just twenty-four hours in her early twenties with the aggravatingly attractive, idealistic artist, a chance encounter that spiraled into a daylong adventure in the city. The timing was wrong, but their connection was undeniable: they shared every secret, every dream, and made a pact to meet one year later. Fern showed up. Will didn’t.
At thirty-two, Fern’s life doesn’t look at all how she once imagined it would. Instead of living in the city, Fern’s back home, running her mother’s lakeside resort—something she vowed never to do. The place is in disarray, her ex-boyfriend’s the manager, and Fern doesn’t know where to begin.
She needs a plan—a lifeline. To her surprise, it comes in the form of Will, who arrives nine years too late, with a suitcase in tow and an offer to help on his lips. Will may be the only person who understands what Fern’s going through. But how could she possibly trust this expensive-suit wearing mirage who seems nothing like the young man she met all those years ago. Will is hiding something, and Fern’s not sure she wants to know what it is."

Book Blurb: From the author of Love & Other Disasters, named a "must‑read" by USA Today, PopSugar, SheReads, and Harper Bazaar, comes a sparkling grumpy-meets-sunshine rom-com featuring two men's sweeping journey across the Western wilderness. Alexei Lebedev’s journey on the Pacific Crest Trail began with a single snake. And it was angling for the hot stranger who seemed to have appeared out of thin air. Lex was prepared for rattlesnakes, blisters, and months of solitude. What he wasn’t prepared for was Ben Caravalho. But somehow—on a 2,500-mile trail—Alexei keeps running into the outgoing and charismatic hiker with golden-brown eyes, again and again. It might be coincidence. Then again, maybe there’s a reason the trail keeps bringing them together . . . Ben has made his fair share of bad decisions, and almost all of them involved beautiful men. And yet there’s something about the gorgeous and quietly nerdy Alexei that Ben can’t just walk away from. Surely a bad decision can’t be this cute and smart. And there are worse things than falling in love during the biggest adventure of your life. But when their plans for the future are turned upside down, Ben and Alexei begin to wonder if it’s possible to hold on to something this wild and wonderful.
Review:
The Pacific Crest Trial... two people dealing with falling in love after the struggles of their pasts, and the possibility of new love on this journey across the Western Wilderness. Alexei Lebedev has turned off his phone and set off on the PCT to become a new person, Alexei 2.0, he wants this adventure to help him find peace and confidence, and a 2,500 mile trail is going to give him the time to do it... except he keeps running into the handsome and charismatic hiker who just happens to be on the same trail as him...
Ben has had a history of dating people who break his heart and yet when he meets the gorgeous and shy but nerdy Alexei, he can’t walk away from him. When given the opportunity Ben suggests they both travel together... and soon both of them are hiking together, sleeping in the same space, getting to know each other, and possibly healing one another. This was a cute story about dealing with the difficulties of accepting yourself and dealing with the fallout of coming out to your family when they wont accept you. Both Ben and Alexei have been hurt but they both deeply love and cherish each other and it was sweet to get to see them fall for one another and grow as people from their past difficulties.
*Thanks Netgalley and Forever (Grand Central Publishing), Forever for sending me an arc in exchange for an honest review*

Florida A&M: 2023 Celebration Bowl Champions
Tumblr media
Florida A&M (12-1, 8-0 SWAC) defeated Howard (6-6, 4-1 MEAC), 30-26, to win the 2023 Celebration Bowl. It is the first Celebration Bowl win and the first postseason bowl win in school history for the Rattlers.
The Rattlers trailed 16-10 at halftime after a slow start but scored 20 points in the fourth quarter to storm back for the win. All-American linebacker Isaiah Major sealed the game with an interception on Howard's final drive with less than two minutes remaining. Major was selected as the Defensive MVP after recording six total tackles, one tackle for loss, and one interception.
It was a dominant defensive performance for the Rattlers as Howard finished the game with only 187 total yards and less than 3.5 yards per play. The Bison capitalized on great field position to take an early 14-0 lead but failed to establish any offensive consistency throughout the game.
Running back Kelvin Dean was named the Offensive MVP after leading the Rattlers with 87 receiving yards and two receiving touchdowns. Quarterback Jeremy Moussa completed 19-of-32 attempts for 289 passing yards, three passing touchdowns, and two interceptions. All three of Moussa's touchdowns came in the fourth quarter, including the game-winner to Jah'Marae Sheread with five minutes remaining.
Florida A&M becomes only the second SWAC program to win the Celebration Bowl, joining Grambling State (2016). The Rattlers also extended their winning streak to 11 games, which is the second-longest streak in the nation.

Book Lovers By Emily Henry (Paperback) Romance Book pages:400 “One of my favorite authors.”—Colleen Hoover An insightful, delightful, instant #1 New York Times bestseller from the author of Beach Read and People We Meet on Vacation. Named a Most Anticipated Book of 2022 by Oprah Daily ∙ Today ∙ Parade ∙ Marie Claire ∙ Bustle ∙ PopSugar ∙ Katie Couric Media ∙ Book Bub ∙ SheReads ∙ Medium ∙ The Washington Post ∙ and more! One summer. Two rivals. A plot twist they didn’t see coming… Nora Stephens’ life is books—she’s read them all—and she is not that type of heroine. Not the plucky one, not the laidback dream girl, and especially not the sweetheart. In fact, the only people Nora is a heroine for are her clients, for whom she lands enormous deals as a cutthroat literary agent, and her beloved little sister Libby. Which is why she agrees to go to Sunshine Falls, North Carolina for the month of August when Libby begs her for a sisters’ trip away—with visions of a small town transformation for Nora, who she’s convinced needs to become the heroine in her own story. But instead of picnics in meadows, or run-ins with a handsome country doctor or bulging-forearmed bartender, Nora keeps bumping into Charlie Lastra, a bookish brooding editor from back in the city. It would be a meet-cute if not for the fact that they’ve met many times and it’s never been cute. If Nora knows she’s not an ideal heroine, Charlie knows he’s nobody’s hero, but as they are thrown together again and again—in a series of coincidences no editor worth their salt would allow—what they discover might just unravel the carefully crafted stories they’ve written about themselves.
