As an ot3 shipper it’s kind of funny to think that at the end of last season I would have not only been content but also deeply thrilled by a RoyKeeley endgame with Jamie as the best friend who just so happens to constantly be there. And now that they’re seemingly actually going in that direction it’s like okay, but you’ve actually ruined that now because you’ve made all their relationships delightfully weirder but also so, so much messier and now I’ve gotten much greedier!

Oh, and by the way I don’t actually see RoyKeeley as all that viable longterm without Jamie anymore, you’ve spoilt me far too much with all the RoyJamie scenes this season and now no universe exists in canon or otherwise where those two aren’t mad for each other, you’ve introduced far too much ambiguity with Keeley’s reflections on Jamie’s growth to where it’s definitely giving off vibes that she still feels romantically towards him, at the same time I feel in my heart that Keeley needs to have a single & improving moment because you gave her the absolutely sloppiest character arc imaginable with minimal personal progression this season, and the only two options that make any realistic sense to me at all at this point with two whole episodes remaining are all three of them ending up single but besties or alternatively, RoyJamie endgame with Keeley as the mutual best friend who just so happens to constantly be around. (both of these endings of course eventually manifesting into offscreen or surprise fourth season ot3, which remains the true eventual endgame for me and feels more inevitable than ever before as the only thing that actually makes long term sense).

The promised Verde post!!!

It's gonna be Verde/Reborn because that ship has been on my mind a lot lately.

Idk why, but I've also over complicated them to hell and back. Like they will never officially date, but they will seek each other out. They're both instigators and antagonistic towards each other, but it's their own special brand of pig tail pulling. That's just how they flirt.

I think Reborn also likes how he can let his darker nature out around Verde. With Luce and Tsuna, he wants to be perceived as better than he actually is. He doesn't want them to see the monster he can be. And while it's nice to know he can be better than he perceives himself to be, he knows that isn't him. With Verde, there isn't a need to hide. Verde doesn't bother hiding who really is, so there isn't a point for Reborn to. A weight he doesn't like admitting he carries comes off.

For Verde, I think he's more of a tsundere. He can never admit his true feelings, so instead, he makes excuses to be in Reborn's life. (This also bleeds into his relationship with the other Arcobaleno! Shout out to Arco/Arco!) For whatever reason, feelings like that embarrass him. Maybe he thinks they're 'illogical', idk. I just work here. He's the kind of guy who you think you know well only to wake up one day and realize you don't. He's so overly cautious that he doesn't have many real relationships with people. And the ones he does aren't always the best. (*stares at my Koenig and Innocenti headcanons*)He can be a sweetheart, but it takes time and the right people for him to be like that.

Reborn is a good excuse for him to spend hours constructing a highly dangerous experiment specially designed for Reborn. You know he's thinking about Reborn's soulless black eyes, as fathomless as the night sky itself, while also giving Reborn a challenge. And that's another thing! They're pretty much the only people who can give each other a challenge. Reborn knows he has to keep his guard up around Verde, and Verde is the same way with Reborn. But for whatever twisted reason, they secretly like that about the other.

They're just... they aren't relationship goals, but their dynamic is so fun to think about. I don't even think I've scratched the surface. I'm so all over the place when it comes to ships, tho. Like all ships have a million different dynamics and vibes because my brain is all over the place.

I know I already rambled about Bunny and Chet’s ship but this is a bit more explanation of their dynamic and just random ramblings bc I literally can’t stop thinking about them. They’re like so good and fucking cute it’s not fair. But to give you a better idea of how shit goes between them (no official timeline bc I’m still figuring that out so no timeline specific discussions from the campaign).

Warning(s): self insert x canon, fluff, and slight suggestive mentions throughout

Bunny was already with the group whenever Chetney was first introduced, and like I said in the previous post it was like obvious love/infatuation at first sight. He was completely enamored by her and very obvious about that. Well… to everyone but Bunny who was jsut confused lmao. At this point she was only dating Dawn, though there was heavy hints at some connection with Fearne and Dorian at this time.

Chetney would continue to flirt with her heavily on and off pretty much from then on. There would be plenty of moments that others would see this, while Bunny remained completely and blissfully unaware. She would go on top capture the hearts of many, like Fearne and Dorian and Laudna (to name a few), and yet she would be none the wiser too his antics. Until Dawn and Imogen pointed out to her just exactly why the old gnome had always been so cheeky with her.

Everybody found her to be quite adorable and sweet, though he would be a bit... over the top with it. Nobody disrespected or talked over Bunny in his presence, even if she was in the wrong or wasn't exactly... right. It wouldn't matter. That's how far fucking gone this goddamn gnome was.

Though Bunny was not particularly reciprocating to his advances, she would respond somewhat playfully. But with a very strong insistent that it would be “in his dreams”, though some moments suggests she definitely lusted after his wolf form. Once she caught on it was lots of cutting of her eyes at him or pushing him away, in moments that weren’t all that serious. She was very vocal that it would never happen.

Eventually this would result in yet another transition of their dynamic which I call the “make her jealous” phase, in which Chetney starts playing a little hard to get with her. Slowing his roll a little bit and seeming like he stopped the whole gag, when in reality he was just switching up his angle. And even though it got a couple teasing remarks from the others to the validity of such an approach, hilarious it seemed to fucking work.

Bunny became rather disturbed by such a change, even though they tried to hide it with a faulty façade. All the times that she would get caught up in his flirting or heavy comments, instead it was nothing short of a quip or two thrown her way. None of which the intensity that it used to be, and she didn’t like how much her body reacted to the change. How differently she felt after the attention was no longer focused on her.

This continued on (most likely even after the split) with a few people catching on to her change in tune since his new approach ended up working. Though, it might had ended up working too well considering that they ended up hooking up in the process. And this doesn't stop there, considering Bunny ends up doing this again... and again... and again.

Eventually their dynamic has yet another shift, and this is where things really kick into high gear and her feelings really come to a head. Because now that they're physical, she starts getting even more jealous than she had been before. This might have been made worse by him purposefully making her jealous bc he found it cute and amusing... which wouldn't work in his favor too well. Thus resulting in the final stage of things before everybody, including Chetney, knew that her feelings had changed.

And slowly as things are revealed more and more, their dynamic finally comes to a head once she admits that he had captured her heart. That she can't hide it anymore, and in fact, he had fucking won. Something that would make him even more insufferable with her, and the two of them would become the corny ass couple that they are now.

Alfyn/Therion - Yes. Just yes, I ship it and it’s obvious why it’s so popular. They have the perfect amount of fluff and angst and portray the “sushine cinnamon roll who trusts too easily x wary lone wolf with trust issues” trope so well, plus I remember their dialogues being deep and adorable. Kind doctor taking care of emotionally hurt thief? Good stuff I give it a 9/10

Cyrus/Therion - I don’t get the appeal of it so it gets a no from me. I really do wonder why it’s so popular but I’m guessing it’s either because they’re some of the few travelers who don’t get along particularly well so there’s a bit of bickering here and there or because they’re both pretty bois ™️ but yeah I really can’t see any chemistry or I’m just pretending to ignore the fact that 99% of cytheri fics portray Cyrus in a way that is so out of character it hurts and while some people might like that it’s really not my thing. Gets a 2/10 for the good looks

Primrose/H’aanit - Another yes from me! They’re absolutely adorable together, top lesbians gfs. Favourite trope is H’aanit getting flustered with Prim’s teasing and I just love that, plus headcanon that Linde would absolutely love Primrose’s cuddles just as much as H’aanit does. Gets a 9/10

Olberic/Erhardt - Oooh boy where do I start- mfs be like I love Olberic he’s my favorite character and then they ship him with Erhardt 💀 (AFFECTIONATE)

This one gets a Yesn’t ™️ from me. It’s a yes if it’s before the fall of Hornburg, because it’s obvious that what they had was more than friendship especially on Olberic’s side, like, the tension was real. It’s definitely a no if it’s after the fall of Hornburg for a lot of reasons starting with Olberic’s traumatic experience and deep emotional scarring but I’ll just boil it all down to “if I have to, I ship them as a divorced couple”. As I see it, it’s impossible for Olberic to fully trust Erhardt again after what happened, of course they’re back to being friends and fight side by side but my brother in christ I feel like he got sentimentally detached after the fall. In Italy we say “a dish that has been heated twice sucks” and I think it applies pretty well to olberhardt. So yeah super unpopular opinion but it’s not my cup of tea. I just think Olby deserves better and he needs to move on- gets a 5/10 for the effort

Cyrus/Olberic - Just look at my feed y’all, it’s a oh god yes from me. Good chemistry 👏🏻 good dialogues 👏🏻 good fluff potential👏🏻 good angst potential👏🏻 otp 👏🏻 the fact that their interactions are so endearing, and Cyrus is so dense, and Olberic’s pining that eventually gets payed off, and their stubborn duties to keep one another safe, they’re both amazingly written characters, nobile and always fighting for justice, but they also have really different interests and personalities and they- they just complement each other so well okay I love them very much get married already. Solid 10000/10

Ophilia/Therion - Totally didn’t expect this one to be so high on this list but anyway here we are. It’s a yes from me! I remember their dialogues being hilariously cute. The “shy kind girl x bad edgy boy” trope isn’t my favorite but they sure look good together (plus the art where Ophilia cuts an apple for Therion is adorable). It’s a 7/10 for me

Primrose/Ophilia - Gets a “eeeeh” from me. Not personally my favorite but I can see some chemistry there, I just see them more as having a little sister/big sister relationship. Doesn’t get more than a 4/10

Alfyn/Zeph - Apparently it made it to the top relationships on ao3 and there’s a good reason behind it, the boys have chemistry. It’s a yes from me, too bad the Mercedes arc kinda wrecked it but it was there. Not as good as Alfyn/Therion though. It’s a 8/10

so in an attempt to actually use positive thinking, anytime i fuck up and my brain reacts as if ive cause a minor apocalyptic event, i compare my fuck up to the 4 minute fuck up committed by the crew of the uss william d porter.

and only today, as i was having to explain what happened to my mom when i was explaining the whole comparison thing, did i realise that most people dont know about it and ive decided that needs to change because its objectively hilarious.

...which is a weird thing to say about an event that occured on a warship in 1943, specifically november 14th.

see the uss william d porter was a fletcher-class destroyer but you dont need to know what that means, just that she had guns that went bang bang and that she was escorting another ship, the uss iowa, to cairo.

while they were on their way there, they performed some gun trials like testing the anti-aircraft guns or the torpedos. and while they were running a torpedo drill, the crew of the porter managed to fire a live torpedo straight at the iowa which you know, in terms of a list of things to do while escorting a ship, shooting a torpedo at them is not on that list.

especially if the president of the united states is on board.

yeah so fdr was on board and the gun trials were actually his idea, and part of the trials was that they were conducted under radio silence.

and that means the crew of the porter couldnt just call the iowa to be like "move out the way, we accidentally shot a torpedo at you."

but they did have signal lamps and you know, the signalman on board was trained to signal this exact kind of message.

...and uh never mind, the signalman did manage to successfully tell the iowa that a torpedo was coming toward them but wasnt as successful when it came to the direction the torpedo was coming from.

not all hope is lost though because the signalman could still use the signal lamp to correct his previous mistake and-, never mind, he announced that the porter was reversing, which she wasnt.

yeah so at catastrophic mistake number 3, they broke radio silence to warn the iowa and she managed to turn out of the way just in time which meant no one got hurt. and even though the inquiry into the incident led to chief torpedoman (fantastic job title btw) lawton dawson being sentences to hard labour, fdr intervened and waved away his sentence, saying it was all an accident.

but yeah, so thats my new measure for "how much did i really fuck up?" and when i compared accidentally picking up a pencil case without a tag on it in wilko, turns out it was a very minor fuck-up. yes, the cashier had to ask another worker to grab a duplicate so they could scan the barcode, but i didnt nearly kill the president during wartime via accidental friendly fire

Yeah I know they aren't that old but they got those vibes

Everyone thinks that Kaiser is the uptight one or the one nervous to do anything new but no it's actually Joe. With his track record with love, he doesn't have any confidence in himself when it comes to these kinds of things, so Kaiser being so chill and accepting is so refreshing actually- Kaiser loves crafts. Knitting, Clockworks, Sculptures, anything that keeps his hands busy. Thankfully with having a partner like Joe who loves to decorate the house with weird little knitted crafts or wooden things, he's always making something new as a gift

Joe is a great baker and he packs little sweet treats for Kaiser every day when he goes to train the kids, as well as some treats for them! Hugs are always a challenge cause both are awkward as fuck and don't know how to hug That said, Joe loves to tackle Kaiser from the back in a hug and just jumps on his back and demands him to take him for a piggyback. Both end up in fits of laughter as they walk around like that like they're little children. NOW onto the Lucky Rose content- These two are so fucking chaotic as a couple- Like, I reckon they show affection towards each other by literally throwing shit at one another and shouting "I LOVE YOU YA FUCK!!" Aran is defo the more vocal of the two, he's CONSTANTLY trying to show his affection to Don with large gesture and over the top conversations that provoke the most flustered and flattered laughs out of Donny. It's also funny when Don is the more vocal one cause it catches Aran so off guard that he just kinda sits there and laughs a little awkwardly, flustered and giggling like a mess They may be chaotic and over the top but there isn't a single thing that says these two don't love each other. They will hug and comfort each other when they're going through shit (which is pretty much all the time) and give good and meaningful pieces of advice for them Don is defo the main source of comfort. Aran won't ever admit he's a an emotional wreck to anyone else but Don and Don will gladly comfort and reassure Aran if he's ever in doubt about himself or their relationship.
