Have you ever found an Eliksni height chart? I assume Fikrul or Taniks would be the tallest, not sure where Eramis would rank. Short king Variks prob wouldn’t be top 20.

SO no I have not found one, BUT using the few that have canon heights that can be found, plus some hints and headcanons I can come up with a sort of impromptu chart (though now I want to make a real one lol, my brain just LOVES starting projects like this)

If we look at the four you mentioned we get this:

Taniks has a height listed on the destinypedia of 12'1", and Fikrul, at least in my head, is a bit larger (looking at him next to Uldren he is fucking huge) putting him at about 13 feet....we can assume most Kells and Archons are between 12 to 13 feet tall. (Now that is, back on Riis who knows how big you could get, and it would be more based on genetics than Ether availability)

Now that brings us to Eramis, who is a Kell but is seemingly significantly smaller than say, Skolas. (It can be hard to tell, her size does seem significantly different in cut scenes vs when you are fighting her) I personally put her at about 10 feet, larger than the average Captain but certainly smaller than many of the Eliksni leaders we see, which I think makes it even more impressive just how tough and feared she is. There could be several reasons you could come up for this, from not hoarding as much ether to her simply being stunted etc....

As far as Variks goes, it is confirmed in the Most Loyal he is the same size as a Vandal, which I put at right about 7 feet. Poor guy definitely wouldn't make even the top third of All Eliksni 😭

Looking at some other big name characters:

This wound up being extremely wolf heavy lmfao. I make Aksor a bit bigger than Skolas, but you could easily have them the same height, I think Kells and Archons would be within a foot or two of each other. We know Skolas was just about 12 feet tall. I threw Drevis in as an example of what an average Baron might be, and because I think she's cool lol.

Then we have our favorite Catboy, Kell Meow Meow- I mean Misraaks. It's Canon that in House light no one gets more Ether because of rank...so he is still about the size of a Captain, which I put at about 9 feet.

So looking at this we would probably say Fikrul is the biggest..BUT WAIT there are two bitches who are EVEN BIGGER than he is

Starting with one of his own Scorn Barons, Elykris the Machinist who is just about FIFTEEN FUCKING FEET TALL. 

I have no idea how she got like this....just BINGING dark Ether???? Who knows but honestly queen shit. 

But even SHE is not the tallest....no there is one fucking freak who is an ungodly beast among Eliksni....

Aksis, the Devil Archon Prime infected with Siva is listed as TWENTY FIVE FEET ELEVEN INCHES TALL!!!!!!!!!!! Like by the great fucking machine.

But anyway if we put them in height order we get this...

Obviously there are a lot of Eliksni missing here....I didn't put in any Salvation Barons because I would have to try to obsessively compare them in what scenes we do get and might just wind up with my headcanons anyway so...

Anyway that is an....EXTENSIVE and maybe not even that helpful answer but....thank you so much for sending me an ask!! I literally cannot remember the last time I got one, even if I might have gone just a bit overboard here lol

Skolas’s pack + Variks and Aksor.

@schniggles​ and i were speculating on physical conformation standards being a thing in the houses since we’ve made them all heinous eugenicists.

Wolves have a pretty decent diversity by virtue of being the biggest of the six houses (headcanon, as is most everything in this post) and probably assimilated a lot of smaller houses over the course of the eliksni’s travel from their home system to Sol. even just within Skolas’s pack there’s evidence of it, scattered between Wolves standardization.

House Wolves prefers high contrast between skin and plating with skin being lighter vs plating. rounded horns, head plate with pronounced brow ridges, square chin, narrow mandibles. body shaping is dependent on what the house needs, but they do like medium muscular builds with slight emphasis on leg strength.

Peekis stands out in the pack as being near perfect to Wolves conformation standards, and thus extremely beautiful and desirable - at least until he blew up half his fleet taking down Irxis and was docked and expelled from the pack for the sheer idiocy of it.

(Skolas is, hilariously, pretty darn far from Wolves physical conformation standards. he, Pirsis, and Beltrik are genetic remnants from an offshoot of House of Stone.)

Variks and Aksor are both examples of Kings conformations standards. dark skin vs light plating with relatively low contrast, broad head plating with slightly up-turned horns and sharp chins. Aksor is slightly closer to preferred Kings standard with the broader jawline. they prefer lean and very even muscle distribution. Kings is a smaller house and pretty strict about sticking to the standards, so a lot of the eliksni in that house look very similar.

Kings also does post-hatch culling, unlike the other houses. fun!

House Judgement doesn’t have conformation standards since their population is fed by tithes from the four other houses. they have intelligence + temperament assessments, but that’s usually done on the side of the tithing house. hatchlings are usually selected at about 6+ months age.

(this practice is a little uh. dead. the judgement scribes and their proximity to kells made a lot of them collateral in Saint’s crusade. the houses had also been abandoning the practice of taking on scribes, especially after the breakdown in house relations post the failure in retaking the Great Machine.

then after that, Variks was only one left. :c)

some day i’ll get around to figuring out Winter and Devils. Devils probably has a pretty decent range in physical variability because they’re also a big house, but they might stick to standards more strictly than Wolves. Winters might not really emphasize physical conformity much but they’re a smaller house and probably look relatively similar by virtue of genetic bottle-necking.

(house of exile has non conformation standards by virtue of being the house that people run to to get away from horrific eugenics. among other things.)

You wake in a dramatic place. It seems that way anyway, you think, dramatic.

The fear of waking and knowing *nothing* is a panic so deep that you shiver, exhaling a heavy racking breath. You have no name, plunging down into an empty darkness within trying to find any vestige of what you were—anything, anything, anything. But nothing comes. Just that first formative sense of illumination followed by a breath that feels like it’s been taken after far too long. It fills you entirely and for a moment, you cling to that calmness. Looking around you.

Great banners hang taut from huge, bulging structures done in crimson and azure. It’s seen better days, though, you think— craters litter dusty ground, many of the banners torn and sheered as if great claws have dragged down them. There’s a sky above you, crammed with brilliant stars swimming in languid vermillion waves. Far away stones vast as mountains silently stare back across that void. Something buzzes near you and, with preternatural awareness you did not know you had, you snatch it from the air.

“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to frighten you!”cries a small voice, and you snap to its source with panic and terror and a fragment of excitement. You do know when you were spoken to last (maybe you’ve never been spoken to!), but the notion of communication makes your heart sail. So, you open your fist, fixing your four eyes to them.

It’s a small thing, big enough to fit in your hand comfortably. It twirls, fidgeting with nervousness and excitement, a singular blue eye glowing brightly back at you. This— drone?— feels like it is smiling at you, even if it has no real face to speak of. A nervous smile, you think. You *laugh*. It is a deep, rumbly sound that fills this empty and dramatic place with a unique warmth. You and the drone feel it reverberate out into the silence, and then you laugh again. It feels *good*! The drone joins, it’s tinny voice almost musical.

When the laughter is gone, sailing outward to those far away starlight mountains, you turn back to your companion (yes, that feels *right*), you speak.

*What is your name?*, you ask, mouthparts clicking. Something deep down sparks inside you, something familiar. Words. Speaking. A faintest suggestion that once, words and speeches carried a weight to you, a naturalness—

“I am Clementia”, says your friend. It comes closer, just a few spans from your face. It’s brightness feels so welcoming, so familiar.

“I’m your Ghost, and you”, Clementia says twirling, “are a Guardian— my Guardian.”

When you stand from the ground of the dramatic place, turning to follow Clementias brilliance, you nearly trip over something in the dirt. It’s a great mantle, a thing of bone and metal. It was great *once*, at least, you can see that through the rust and signs of damage; one great horn scorched, the other shattered into several half-buried halves. Another flickering down deep inside you comes, hard as one of those tumbling mountains slamming into you: phantoms of burdens and designs, betrayals that stole sleep and peace from you, a final trial—

“Guardian?” Clementia hovers, pleasant as starlight.

In silence, warmed by a new purpose, you leave the place of your rebirth. Together.

For anyone getting excited over Hillerska being shut down by the school inspectorate, hold your glee. Lundsberg Skola is the Swedish boarding school Hillerska seems to based on. After years and years of warnings and fines re bullying and hazing, Lundsbergs was shut down by the school inspectorate on August 28, 2013.

It was supposed to stay shut down for a minimum of 6 months. Instead the school hired expensive lawyers, appealed, and were allowed to reopen on September 6, 2013. So it only took 9 days before they found a loophole. One can assume Hillerska will do likewise and everybody (except the third years) will be back in class in the second half of August when the new school year starts.

At Lundsbergs, the headmaster was fired and the entire board of governors resigned after the shut down. But they soon regrouped, hired a new headmaster, appointed new alumni and parents to the board, and debuted a shiny new anti-bullying policy. Whether it actually worked is unlikely. But the parents are mostly alumni themselves. They would’ve gone through the same brutal hazings and wouldn’t think they’d be such a big deal.

Here’s the Wikipedia page, scroll down to the Controversy section for the details on the abuse and bullying that the school was turning a blind eye to. The final investigation, the one that triggered the (temporary) shutdown, was when the younger boys were burned with hot irons by older boys at an initiation. One boy was burned so badly he needed to be hospitalized. The hospital called the local police, who called the school inspectorate. Note: that boy’s parents were not the ones to notify either the police or the school inspectorate.

Saw a Christmas commercial that inspired me to write this. 👉👈

Skolas, from my pov, seems like the kind of guy who emotes very little unless it’s in a way that someone would perceive him as strong and unfuckwithable. So imagine giving him a dawning gift that strikes him deeply, one that he will treasure for ages to come. His eyes widen, but he is silent, then proceeds to brush past you, holding the boxed item closely to his chest.

You gaze on in confusion, begin to feel fear creep into you, then Variks comes to your side and murmurs reassuringly in amusement, “It is rare to see the wolf kell so overcome with joy. (insect chattering) Be grateful, guardian. I am. (warbly insect chuckle)”
