Note
do you find it odd that zap and thumpback are the only water skylanders who actually swim
slam bam and chill surf on ice
gill grunt flies over it with his jetpack
and wham shell just propels himself with the mace
Actually before you get the Jetpack upgrade, Gill Grunt also swims. It's weird but it makes sense.
Slam bam is usually scared of water and Chill is wearing heavy armor so it makes Sense they'd form Ice to float on.
And most crabs usually walk along the bottom of bodies of water, and the animation is silly for Wham-shell.
Personally if crossing bodies of water was still a thing in future games, these are my head canons for how the other water skylanders would traverse, without including OCs.
Swimmers: Punk shock, Wash buckler (anyone using his legs besides him has a bubble form over the top half to protect them), Echo, Snapshot, Lob-star, Gulper, Dive-Clops, Kingpen, Water Imaginators (with different swimming animations based on Battle class)
Ice: Freeze blade (but instead he's just freezing the water as he skates over it), Chill Bill
Other: Riptide (Summons a big fish to ride on), Flip wreck (has his weird flight ability with his shield), Slobber trap (makes a slobber bubble to float in), Brawl n Chain (summons swim floaties to help him float about), Threat pack (already flying), Cross Crow (Summons crows to carry him), Tide pool (Summons her mini whale to ride on), Grave Clobber (Just floats like a corpse).
Honorable mention to Nightfall, Splat, and Big Bubble Popfizz, who aren't water types but still use sea vehicles. Splat creates a bridge of oil paint beneath her (oil floats on water after all), Popfizz creates a bubble, and Nightfall just swims, cause she's a badass who dives deep down to fight sea monsters.

So, in light of recent fandom stuff, I feel like I do have things to add to the convo. (Under a cut because I wrote a lot.)
Criticism of media fundamentally serves a purpose. To me, that purpose is to look at the role media plays in the maintenance of hegemony. Which in turn helps in considering which perspectives might be missing and would be necessary in further understanding the world. Which in turn helps us to deconstruct our current understandings of the world and work towards better systems.
(Not to mention, it can be quite fun to do and read/watch, as least for me personally.)
I think criticising children's media in particular does involve a certain amount of finesse as well. You're working with material targeted at the young. Much of this media would be formative materials for them. And so one will have to operate with a more considerate view on how to navigate criticising the media in question. In my view, for a succinct criticism to be made, you have to understand the target audience it had been made in mind for, which often depends on factors such as age, gender, country of origin, etc. in order to understand why certain decisions were made. Only then can one adequately begin to unpack why certain decisions made within the media were made.
So, let's talk about Skylanders [1].
I think it is worth talking about the ways this franchise does incorporate militaristic imagery into its heroes [2]. The way racialised/orientalist understandings of certain peoples does affect portrayals of certain characters. It is equally worth talking about how this is not unique to this game series. That these are issues widespread among a lot of media of its genre.
I feel like most of the issues of the franchise being the way it is boils down to like, it more or less being produced in a hegemon which permits for the unquestioned use of 'militaristic' imagery, as well as racialised/orientalist tropes and imagery, in a children's game without it being called into question lol. After all, there are children who do frequently, in real life, deal with tanks and fighter jets and border police and similar things on a daily basis. To have a game wherein images of these things are used by the heroes, to have heroes who are named after actual military terms coined in the context of modern warfare (Air Strike comes to mind) is actually indicative of who the target audience of the games are! (Children who do not have to frequently deal with these things in their real lives.)
And I feel like what it is good to question here is the acceptance that audiences did have at, well, more or less having characters who did use these images and who are named after these terms of modern warfare more or less unquestioningly. At least, it is worth considering, if only to be made aware of what perspectives are currently absent from the picture being presented.
~
Tangentially related from the main point, but a few responses against claims of the Skylanders being a proper armed military have been along the lines of the Skylanders being more 'superheroes' than a military. And that is true; they do follow a model more similar to that of a superhero story.
But I do think that superheroes as a concept are equally worth criticising. If only because the idea of 'innately powerful being who has the power of arbiter of morality and who protects "their community"' is a character trope which can be used as a vessel for reactionary ideology. (Implications of a character being uniquely powerful and what it says about our views on gifts/talents/ability aside [3], unpack 'protect', 'morality' and 'community'.) To paraphrase a tumblr post I can't be arsed to dig up now, 'if the Avengers existed in real life I bet we'd all hate them' [4].
Within the context of Skylanders, I don't really think they fall into as many of these issues which do end up within quite a bit of superhero media. Several characters do avoid the idea of 'innate power' through having been superempowered by something else (magical explosion, tech suit, whatever), and it is worth pointing out how several characters in-universe are also members of peoples who had previously been marginalised, and many Skylanders had made a name for themselves as being freedom fighters in particular [5].
~
That being said... I find it to be missing the forest for the trees to tie a decade-old dead franchise to an ongoing military conflict using example tropes which are, frankly, not unique to the franchise. The truth of the matter is that a lot of boy-targeted media produced in Western nations for the intent of selling boys more toys have similar issues with their portrayals of military and police forces, 'heroic' figures, structures of power, ideas of 'power' and 'protection' in general. So on and so forth.
Most of these things, in my opinion, need to be criticised within the context of more examples and broader cultural trends. To use the light vs darkness example, one needs to talk about the prevalence of it as a trope in other media, and how it affects the portrayals of characters who are associated with darkness and designed with dark skin in particular, beyond simply one game series. This is so that people can more easily notice how it is a reoccuring pattern in media and it isn't a unique example. Which then lends credence to your argument that darkness' association with evil negatively affects the portrayal of racialised/racially-coded characters and that this trope's prevalence has roots in societal ideas around 'light' features (light skin, blonde hair) being associated with goodness, with darkness serving as a contrast.
Similarly, if one analyses the game within the context of its production, target audience, etc, I don't think it would be accurate to call it propaganda. Rather, I think what it is, is a game produced within a hegemon. Which people who exist within the hegemon take in with varying levels of like, 'being critical of'. I think the severity of the issue needs to be properly assessed in order to most succinctly criticise it. [6] And what it is, fundamentally, is a symptom of a culture.
~
My final point is that. Everyone. This is the neurodivergent website. A common symptom of neurodivergence is a tendency to phrase things somewhat awkwardly.
Harassment is never warranted.
What if I just moved to Jupiter to get more stupider?
~
[1] I win at tone shifts.
[2] Worth pointing out: the villains of the game have also employed similar use of militaristic imagery. [See: Glumshanks tank.] Genre is important, and this is a hack n slash. We are going to fight enemies, and hordes of them. (In turn it is worth thinking about the popularity of such games, the implications of this genre's conventions, etc. Blah blah blah ruthless critique of all that exists whatever.)
[3] Insert Jack Saint
[4] Insert Alan Moore
[5] It is worth also pointing out that there are also characters who did make a name for themselves via protecting people from 'bandits' and such, which like yeah. I think these sorts of generic enemies do have some classed implications when you think about them. However, one must also remember that these games were produced one after the other over the course of about seven or so years, and most bios were initially written as throwaway afterthoughts to give the characters a little spice. It would be difficult to therefore give a succinct analysis about many of their actual portrayals in lieu of meatier media (in the form of comics, books etc).
There's something to be said about how the material conditions the games were made under - that being of video game crunch in order to push it out to as many USAmerican [and broader global north] children as possible - did lead to the games being produced and written a certain way. (ie capitalising on normative heroic tropes and ideas without deconstructing them to a greater extent). Of course it did that; they were pushing these games out as fast as possible. Who has the time to construct revolutionary narratives in this context?
[6] For that matter, there is something worth criticising regarding fandom-blogging while trying to tie it to current military conflict. Definitely question the media one consumes. One must also remember that this is a dead game franchise with a small active fanbase, and while criticise it can be a meaningful thought exercise and expose one to a perspective they might not have considered before, this is also just a game. And there are real marginalised people out there who demand to be talked about as themselves, without being tied to fandom.

Skylanders Review: Double Trouble
So um Yeah, we've covered 1/4 of the original thirty-two Skylanders, now we gotta' talk about Double Trouble.
Tumblr media
[Image: Double Trouble is a um, "Shaman" character. His face is actually a tiki mask, with a rectangular shape that extends his forehead to a higher position. His mask has canine-like teeth surrounded by a rectangular, carved in lips, alongside a carved unibrow. There are also five additional quadrilateral markings above his unibrow that almost resemble SpongeBob's eyelashes. You can see his lime green eyes through the mask. There are several feathers decorating the sides of the mask, alongside a grass-skirt with a leather...fanny pack maybe? Its latch is tied around a cartoonish bone, and you cannot see any legs under his skirt so that's a cool detail I guess. Anything not covered up by his "traditional" garments reveals that he has blue skin, with humanoid features. He wields a staff topped with a crystal, with metallic fixtures surrounding it, and with more feathers decorating it.]
So um, remember the Witch Doctor and Shaman monsters from the OG Scooby-Doo series? Kids franchises really loved those wooden masks!
Okay these masks are really cool, and they are a great representation of cultures - especially with how humans all have the same idea of using artificial faces to intimidate others or put on performances.
But like, this is...not good right? I can't really say the devs who designed this guy deserve a 1000 years of misfortune for not being all that culturally sensitive, but look at him.
Tumblr media
Better yet, look at the fact that most of his in-game dialogue is just different iterations of Ooga Booga. No seriously.
Tumblr media
I am not comfortable with this, like his species is apparently "Tiki Man"??? I feel like if you want something Tiki inspired that has no connection to the culture actually connected to that imagery, you could at least make up a new name for it? Video Games are a half-visual media, so the connection would be easy to make through design alone. Here it feels kinda lazy just to call something "Tiki [Blank]", like calling the stars and stripes a "Flag pattern" in a world where America doesn't even exist.
The Tiki stuff is just aesthetics by the way, there is no other cultural influence because it's very clear he's mostly based on African Shaman stereotypes.
His backstory is basically the same as the Zebra from My Little Pony, and his name comes from the fact that he ate a special plant that gave him the ability to create clones with his already expert magic. The first positive I can give this character is that I enjoy him getting along with his clones despite the fact that they're all tiny bombs mechanically.
Tumblr media
It gets even weirder because one of his beta figure designs is just a normal elf-eared wizard with no Tiki elements. Perhaps it was deemed too similar to Eon, but with a few redesigns it could've worked. Even taking Chompy Wizard into account.
Motto: "Boom Shock-a-locka!" I did not like writing this review. 1/5.
Tumblr media
One. He gets one. The Bone Chompy of Death.
Did I mention that I will not do a full creature design review of the original Scooby-Doo! Where are You roster of monsters for reasons this review makes apparent.

I got skylanders on the mind, oh no-
I'm not gonna participate in Skytober this year (obviously), but I am interested in talking about ideas for a new entry in the series because I really do think there is potential for a series of new games, or at least another one so the shitshow that was Imaginators isn't the last entry.

may the best bait win! propaganda under the cut:
cali and flynn:
It starts off as a one-sided crush on Flynn’s side, and later becomes mutual when Cali develops feelings for him in the Skylanders IDW spin-off comics, their romantic tension lasts for most of the franchise (five games, a chapter of a spin-off comic, and a few bits and pieces in the spin-off books and mobile games), so far they’ve never gotten together as the franchise is currently still in hiatus mode (says this while on extreme copium) I think we need to appreciate the tropes in Calynn: Opposites Attract, Tough Girl x Himbo, Smart x Dumb, “You’re stupid, I like that in a man” vibes all over this ship! Seven year old me didn’t see Cali calling Flynn her guy in the sky whilst Flynn looked at her with heart eyes to lose to some other pairing!
akko and andrew:
Very typical hetero-love-interest introduction, rival vibes, aloof rich boy & headstrong "commoner" girl, learning to see each other's point of view, she dresses up for the first time in the series to sneak into his party to try to talk to him. Just classic 'ugh they're clearly gonna get together' but... they don't. Nothing romantic is ever explicit, and by s2 they're friends and that's it. there's no discussion or drama. they're good friends. literally shocked me. apparently a guy and girl who fit a bunch of romantic tropes... can just be friends

wait are the “send me an episode” asks still open. can you do ascension my best friend ascension. ignore this if you don’t wanna. this is mikey silo1013 btw
HEYYYY you guys can ALWAYS send me an episode lol y’all know i love to talk
this is prob gonna be all over the place this episode makes me feel deranged i'm literally incapable of formulating a coherent thought about it
Tumblr media
this is my favorite shot from ascension. mulder on top of the broken cable car, the sun setting behind him. he's so close to making it, and he's running out of time.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
ascension is arguably the most poignant and effective portrayal of the show's core themes, and of what drives mulder, as it makes a point of placing him back in the one night that he never truly left.
once again, he's listening as the person closest to him screams his name for help. he's been trying to rewrite this moment, to walk back into this room, every day of his life, and he's not a child unable to respond anymore. he's not frozen in the corner.
Tumblr media
he jumps up and rushes to the scene before the message even finishes, and he's still too late.
Tumblr media
this is the reigning theme of the episode, as mulder obsessively searches for scully, unrelenting for a moment or a breath.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
ascension is heavily visible, driven largely in its symbols, and this theme is referenced continuously in skyland mountain's tagline "ascend to the stars"
Tumblr media
alluded to in the testimony that duane barry gave mulder in the previous episode
Tumblr media
and hinted at again in the images of mountains behind duane and mulder in the interrogation
Tumblr media
and so both mulder and duane keep ascending, racing against the trauma of their respective pasts, both trying to change their fate, to avoid reliving their worst nights over and over.
duane in his attempts to be spared as the person taken, and mulder in his desperation to not be the person left behind.
Tumblr media
but in the end, at the very top, there is once again nothing to see but bright lights
Tumblr media
i love this moment between mulder and maggie, back on the ground, when all is said and done. when she tells him that she's still having dreams about her daughter being taken away, and how much it scares her. and mulder responds, "it's probably scarier when you stop having the dream, don't you think?"
isn't it worth it, to be haunted, if it keeps someone close?
Tumblr media
so the episode concludes with mulder returning to the top of the mountain, walking back into that room, into that loss, over and over. still left behind.
Tumblr media
ascension is the mythology as its very best, in that it understood where the real danger lies. the fear in uncertainty.
the real danger lies in the man without a name in the corner, always visible and surrounded by smoke signals, but still impossible to find. shrouded in that same cloud that makes him so identifiable.
it lies in questions without answers, and the easiest explanation not necessarily being the most plausible. did duane barry find scully through the chip, or did someone give him her address? are the lights in the sky alien, or something closer to home?
as the audience, we are left just as in the dark as mulder is, never having anything to go on other than what is discarded in rental cars. cigarette butts, cross necklaces, lights in the sky, and nothing else to find when you reach the end of the road.
Tumblr media
finally, you and i are both union-based krycek-girlies, so we must discuss his big moment.
Tumblr media
(boys trip)
Tumblr media
following his introduction and the reveal that he's working for CSM earlier in the season, ascension solidifies krycek's place in the game when he is given orders to slow mulder down at any cost
Tumblr media
in an episode so defined by rush and the demand to make it to the top
Tumblr media
krycek halts mulder in the air, finishing the race when only one of them knows the rules
Tumblr media Tumblr media
and then disappears, another missing person leaving his partner behind, with a trail of crumbs behind him

(This is partly based on the fact Aurora is most likely Kaos' sibling, and in the past before SI Kaos was stated to only have brothers)
Aurora: Hey Kaossandra... Kaos... I- I think I want to identify as female.
Kaossandra: Finally, I won't be the only woman in this house hold
Kaos: [writes down number of brothers he has as x-1]
Aurora: also I don't want to be evil anymore or use dark magic-
Kaossandra: Get your things, and get OUT of my Kastle
(Based on a Tumblr post discussing Remmie being trans, and his dad being cool with it, but not that he didn't want to stop eating literal garbage. (Sorry I can't cite... IDR who the OP of the post chain was) No generator used for this)

(Bounus)
Kaos: So, before you GET LOST, how about you tell me your new name so I can find the most insulting way to address you while still being correct on who you are.
Aurora: ???
Kaos, who has in the past changed his own name from 'Chaos': I may be one of the most Powerful Dark Portal Masters in all of Skylands, but I have the DIGNITY to use my enemies' ACTUAL names when I mock them.

I think it's Extremely Relevant right now to talk about Skylanders' military propaganda [Edit].
I will not be graphic. But your further research on this... most likely will be, at least in a descriptive way.
Tumblr media
A. Skylanders was created by Activision, the same company that made Call of Duty. Call of Duty (among others) is a game used to reel in youth for army recruitment. Just to picture what's the typical order of business for leaders at the company.
B. The whole idea of the Academy, ranks, "Us vs Them" mentality. "Light and order" vs "Darkness and anarchy". Regardless of your opinions on Anarchy as a system, darkness often equaling Kaos' workers such as trolls (and even gyps*es), and for Skylanders meaning dark skinned creatures, is pretty clear sign of their idea of evil.
[Edit: Light=Good and Darkness=Evil is not a universal experience. Multiple cultures consider it just as sacred, an equal, instead of an opposite to Light. Symbolically and Philosophically, there's more to it, beyond the typical eurocentric imaginary.
Speaking of eurocentric imaginary: to an uncritical consumer, this could potentially reinforce their ideas of good and evil. There is little wiggle room for these ideals to be challenged. They are exceptions of Skylanders' norm.]
C. Just in Superchargers, there are references to a Border being kept between Skylands and Outlands, High Volt being this "elite guard" that protects the border. Notice he looks like a riot police, in colors and gear- one of which is a riot shield. Protesting is a right, and in these parts of the world, it is often met with unhinged police violence. Regardless of your opinions on borders, the way such a thing is enforced in the USA is extremely violent. Even here in Puerto Rico, we have border patrol and constant surveillance (mostly aimed at keeping out our Dominican neighbors).
Do not get me started on the long history of Puertorrican oppression inflicted by USA Imperialism. (Agent Orange, Forced Sterilization, Vieques Occupation).
[Edit: Just... Copaganda in My video game? No, thank you. For ME, If I portray High Volt, I'd redesign and reinterpret him. He's like, a lightbulb. Perhaps he is part of a watch tower, but for other purposes].
D. Sorry, Nightfall here goes another problematic thing about you: Nightfall is dressed like a type of Navy admiral: A long coat with yellow buttons and yellow cord epaulets. She also has a vehicle called the Sea Shadow, referencing a real-life military ship designed for surveillance.
[Edit: Not every country has a military. And those who do have the biggest budget for it are typically using it as an imperial, colonial force. This is important, more so because Skylanders' target audience is the young eurocentric USAmerican. The parent company is Activision Blizzard, stationed in USA. The way other Skylanders talk about the Superchargers is like the Air Force are talked about by others in the army- they are the more "prestigious" ones with shiny new vehicles lmao].
E. The idea is that one can be a hero through this hard, thankless fighting... in another's land, "Securing" that land from the "evil ones". Sounds like Occupation and / or a Coup to me. Goes hand in hand with the point about Borders and Light vs Darkness.
[Edit: People. I am talking about this above with Manifest Destiny in mind. I am not claiming all the Skylanders are colonizers, lol! I'm saying there's way too many references to USA military propaganda to ignore. I ask you to use your own discernment / research to make your conclusions. There are things I didn't pick up.
I simply did Not appreciate Buzz telling Stormblade to do Psychological Warfare, or calling Glumshanks an "apple-polishing troll" when the guy just wanted to help. To me, this is not funny haha. It's funny like weird!]
___
These are the things on top of my head I've wanted to talk about for a while, but now more than ever is pressing to bring it up and discuss with intent to move forward. Don't go "You're overreacting" Please don't tell me I don't know anything about something I experience every day. Also, don't put words in my mouth, thanks. You can visit this post if you have questions.
If you can help it, don't give Activision any more of your money, for example, buying their newer games. Buy second hand.
Avoid spending at companies like Airbnb (which not just supports settlers but directly worsens my country's housing crisis), Apple, Hp, Motorola, McDonald's, Starbucks, Coca Cola, Mars chocolate, Nestle are a few others that dont have a clean track record. Get familiar with modern-day imperialist interest around you on your own, or with friends.
👋[If your knee-jerk reaction to this is to hate me perhaps inspect why that is? I'm not a big influential blog. Why you threatened? I can't force you or bully you to do anything, I'm just making my opinions known].

Somehow the Ghost Roaster picture on Deviantart became a discussion on which Skylanders have the saddest backstory, and I have to keep saying "Ghost Roaster DIED, you know" to someone saying that Voodood had it worse since he's the last of his kind.

so let me try to make sense of the elemental weakness chain: earth breaks tech, air erodes earth, fire consumes air, water extinguishes fire, life drinks water, undead drains life, magic seals undead, and tech disbelieves magic
Yeah I think that's pretty much how the original chain would go. I believe they usually explain that Tech is powered by Magic in the Magic and Tech book, but at the same time Tech is also the element of "Science and Reason" in a land of infinite sky and floating islands lol.
Ever since Light and Dark were added though, I've always liked doing a new system that's kinda like pokemon... But with no immunities, and the added quirk of Opposite elements being equally powerful against each other.
Tech and Magic are actually the two elements that combine together just as easily as they clash. Get a magic expert like Popfizz or Double trouble and the crazy tech minds of Trigger happy or Sprocket together and they could probably make something amazing. The Arkeyan empire got as strong as it did when combining magic and tech.
While Water can extinguish flames, intense heat can also melt ice and cause water to evaporate.
All living things die for sure, but plants and fungus also thrive on the nutrients of decaying matter.
Air types are lighter and faster and can probably wear down an earth type. But if that heavy and powerful Earth type manages to smash the air type, there's no way that lightweight is taking that blow. It's like an even clash between and unstoppable force like a storm and an immovable object like a mountain if that makes sense.
And then Light and Dark are always on equal terms. Light can overpower Darkness just as easily as Darkness can consume the light.
Thinking of element interactions is fun : D

Glossary of Terms often used on the Blog:
The Skylanders: Much like before in their original homeworld, the Skylanders are the champions of righteous justice on Earth and Akerah. Although their numbers are vastly much less than they were 1000 years ago, when Spyro was their leader. But when they needed him most, he was gone. The Skylanders were hunted down one by one at the hands of the wicked Power-Fist, until only 20 were left. The Skylanders now are led by Cynder, while still being opposed by Power-Fist and his space armada. They possess powerful and unique abilities over the elements, each Skylander being a different one. Currently, the Skylanders are kept in check by the Mabu Defense Force, who keeps a ever-watchful on them, lest they go rogue and cause trouble. Spyro the Dragon and Cynder are most popular among the Skylanders seen in the Mythical Multiverse, they are pretty famous among the general public and very much much well-liked. The Skylanders are bold enough to take on threats than even the Avengers and other heroes can't handle by themselves.
Arkeyans and Their Technology: Relics of the begone Arkeyan Empire that was defeated 10,000 long years ago by the original Skylanders, the Giants. Who were the Arkeyans, you ask? An evil empire of sentient robots. Too bad much of their history has been lost to the sands of time. The influences of this civilization continues to be felt throughout the universe to this day, and many of their inventions continue to be discovered by archeologists many centuries after their reign ended. As an ancient civilization and empire, nobody knows the true origins of the Arkeyans, but it is known they were once peaceful beings. It was the Arkeyans who created the modern day tech that humans and aliens use. With their marvelous technology, they created immensely powerful war machines, to which they used to wage war upon the universe as a superior lifeform. Soon enough though, the great Arkeyans dominated Skylands and the rest of the known cosmos. They were absolutely brilliant in their vast intellect, during their reign all of Skylands had been enslaved by them. Led by the ruthless King Arkus, they were the most powerful civilization in the universe. Until their downfall by the Giants, they were practically unbeatable. The Iron Fist was later locked away in the Skylanders Museum.
Portal Masters: They were once considered the wisest and most powerful beings in Skylands and the universe. But they have since faded from relevancy in favor of superheroes, and are now considered a myth by others. Only quite a few in written history have been born with ability to manipulate portals and command legendary heroes, such as Master Eon and more currently, Portal Mistress Sophia. Portal Masters were the protectors of Skylands alongside their chosen champions, their mission to defend the realm from The Darkness and all those under it's influence, such as Kaos and Malefor. While the Portal Masters were once in the defends of the universe, they like the Skylanders are now next to non-existent. After Power-Fist arrived in Skylands, their future looked bleak, but however, a new Portal Master hailing from Earth is now on the scene. And she's doing everything in her power to drive back the forces of evil once more after Spyro's return in the Mythical Multiverse.
The Titans: These guys are the original the Skylanders for the most part, but other members of the species exist as well. They are titanic and monstrous in size, and are recognized for immense power. Alone a Titan can single-handily level a large city within an hour, but together they can take on even the gods themselves. Most Titans wish to be left alone at their tropical resort, some are legendary heroes, and others are absolutely malevolent and seek to bring harm unto others. Much as Manos the Destroyer of Worlds for example. The Titans are considered dangerous on so many levels by mortals, and are rightfully considered the original gods before others showed up, such as the Greek, Norse, and Celtic pantheons. Yet when all goes wrong, even the mightiest of heroes will take on a Titan that is on a rampage.
Divine Powers: There are millions of gods and goddesses scattered through the Mythical Multiverse. The first and oldest pantheon in existence is the Draconic one, followed by the Elven pantheon, and then others. On Earth there are Greek, Norse, Celtic, Hindu, Egyptian, Polynesian, Chinese, Japanese and more that exist. Some of them appear humanoid in the case of Zeus and Thor, while others are more monstrous in the case of Sobek. Even the Lovecraftian gods exist within the Mythical Multiverse in the case of Ephi, The Darkness and Azathoth, these powers are the Outer Gods and they are among the most powerful beings in the infinite multiverse.
The Elements: There are ten known elements seen within the Mythical Multiverse, with the possibility of even more out there existing. They are the essence of everything found in the Mythical Multiverse. Everyone has access to an element, but one only. Though every element is different from one another, they are all equally important to each other. The known elements are as follows, Air, Earth, Water, Fire, Tech, Magic, Life, Undead, Light, and Dark. Together they all make up the building blocks of the Prime Matrerial Plane in the Mythical Multiverse.

StarSkyshipping
So I hear it's Lesbian Day so allow me to infodump about my Skylander Oc Ship: Portal Master Silvana x Phoebe the Fairy.
🌙 Silvana and Phoebe have known each other around the time Silvana became an apprentice to Eon especially around the time Silvana was in their mid teens, Phoebe would often be exploring and meeting new people and anytime Silvana had free time, they would end up meeting up. 🌙 They share a love for Skystones though Phoebe was pretty talented at and they did share a friendly rivalry as a result. Anytime Silvana is having adventures with the Skylanders, they would gift her new Skystones she probably doesn't have yet. And card games. They both enjoy a battle of wit together. 🌙Phoebe was one of the only people who believed in Silvana and wasn't very afraid of them and even saw them as more than just a Portal Master, even sometimes reminding them of that. It was one of the reasons why Silvana fell head heels in love with her. 🌙Silvana wears a moon shaped crystal which has a lot of light magic to stabilize their dark magic (just to give them some balance). That was made by Phoebe who took the liberty to turn some magic into a crystal. Silvana gave it to Spyro temporally when he was losing control of his dark form during the time they and the Skylanders were building the core of light and when they were in the realm facing Hecktor. 🌙They became a couple after they with Flynn, Tessa, Sharpin and the Skylanders save Cloudbreak Islands from Kaos and his mother. It did take a rather long discussion about starting the relationship since the both of them did have respective duties. 🌙The only way I can sum this up is that they have a secret relationship but they do like it this way. Though Persephone is the only one who knows about them dating since she did help make it happen. It's mainly justified because Silvana is a Portal Master and leader of the Skylanders, mostly because of that and having the responsibility of protecting Skylands put on their shoulders after taking on the mantel during the time the Skylanders had to make a new Core of Light, they couldn't afford to have romantic relationships even though they had crushes before. And Phoebe is a substitute ruler of the fairy kingdom keeping things running smoothly in the Ancient Woods while Persephone helps the Skylanders. 🌙Boy heaven help you if you hurt the moon to Silvana's dark sky as as well as any of the Portal Master's loved ones because you'll either be bound to a mirror for eternity or be trapped in Traptanium and placed somewhere where no one could find you. Because that's what happened to Kaossandra (Kao's Mom) and Count Moneybones respectively. 🌙 Eventually Phoebe does move into the Academy while Persephone goes back to the fairy kingdom in the Ancient Woods and takes a turn helping the Skylanders by giving them magical upgrades when the Doom Raiders strike. Persephone insisted. 🌙 So at most it was a long distance relationship before Phoebe was given Persephone's job to give upgrades, they keep contact through letters. Love letters and letting the other know how they've been ect. 🌙Discreet dates at night, looking at the starry sky like they used to when they were younger.
🌙Silvana ends up spoiling Phoebe with their cooking which they do a heck lot of especially for the Skylanders. Dinner dates also happen discreetly. 🌙 Silvana is known to be overworked and all nighters is their game, Phoebe understands that but reminders to get some rest and sleep is something she does pretty often. They end up falling asleep together in Silvana's office or in their quarters. Good thing Hugo doesn't just let himself into the office.

Another week later, the crew was back on the ship, seeking their next destination.
Flynn had an interesting plan he wanted to share with Striker and Savage.
“You’re gonna ask her on a date?!” Savage whispered.
“Yeah, well it depends if she’s interested in me or not!” Flynn whispered back.
“I think there’s a great chance she might be!” Striker said.
“Okay, guess I’ll try asking her now while I can!” Flynn replied.
“Good luck cap’n!” Savage said.
Cali was busy sorting out food rations with Softy and a crewmate named Harpy.
“Oh hey Flynn, what’s up?” Cali asked as he walked up to her.
“Hey Cali~” He replied in a flirtatious manner, putting his hand on her shoulder.
(Author’s Note: Yes that was a Spiderverse reference, you’re welcome!)
“Do you wanna…go on a date with me?” He asked somewhat nervously.
“Yeah…does tomorrow night sound good to you?” Cali answered.
“Yeah, I’ll cook some food for us!” Flynn said.
“I look forward to it!” Cali replied.
As Flynn walked away, he gave Savage and Striker a thumbs up, Striker pumped his fist as Flynn walked over to them.
“What are you gonna wear?!” asked Striker.
“You gotta wear something classy!” Savage added.
“I think I have an old outfit of mine I could wear!” Flynn replied.
As Flynn began steering the ship, Cali had pulled out her notebook and began sketching a drawing of him as she stood near him.
“Are you drawing me?” He asked.
“Yes…what’s wrong with that?” Cali replied.
“Nothing, just didn’t know that you can draw!” Flynn said.
After everyone had their dinner, Flynn was in his cabin with Striker, Savage and Vulture discussing his plan for him and Cali’s date the next day.
“I think this outfit would be a good choice!” said Flynn, he was wearing a very refined captain’s suit.
“Uhhh…do any of you have any advice about flirting, because I’m not the best at it!” He added.
“I wouldn’t force it, just talk to her about something and maybe throw in a flirty remark, but don’t be weird to her” Vulture said.
“It’s also nice to just give her nice compliments!” Striker added.
“And if she doesn’t kiss you, that’s fine, it’s all about taking it easy with this kinda stuff!” Savage said.
“Alrighty! i think I got a pretty good idea in mind, I’m thinking we could find a town to stop at for you guys to hang about on while we stay on the ship for our date!” Flynn replied.
“Sounds good to us!” Vulture said gleefully.
Meanwhile, Cali was busy chatting with Harpy and Softy about her date with Flynn.
“I have a yellow jumpsuit dress you could wear, it’s really nice and it’ll look great on you!” said Harpy.
“As for flirting advice, if he gives you a flirty compliment, you flirt with him back!” Softy said.
“Thanks, I’m sure it’ll go great!” replied Cali.
After they had said their goodnights, Cali snuggled into her bed, dreaming about tomorrow.
Surely she wasn’t falling for him…was she?
To be continued…

What the hell is going on in the skylanders fandom I decided to check the Skylander tag after a great while and apparently, there is a discussion going around saying how it’s war propaganda and if it is or it isn’t, and I can kind of see a little bit, but it’s less of a deep thought kind of thing like “what do the humans in Pokémon eat?” Kind of thing idk really just weird in my opinion :/
