The Lovelorn
The Lovelorn are those Slaaneshi daemons who embody their master’s tertiary aspect of love. They were more common early in the world’s history, when the God of Pleasure was sweet on a harmony godling and his love aspect was among his primary drives. The Ring of Carnality was once the Ring of Adoration before that godling’s death.
But after their death, Slaaneshi daemons who’s primary drive is love are rare. Even those daemons who can still feel the emotion rarely indulge it, as this is one sure way to gain the ire of Slaanesh’s court. A Slaaneshi daemon uses infatuation as a weapon to manipulate mortals, she isn’t supposed to fall in love herself lest she be vulnerable to the same manipulations.
But Slaaneshi do, and paired with all their other aspects, namely obsession, selfishness, and the jealousy common among their kind, this almost invariably ends up in death for the target of their affections. Slaanesh more or less tolerates his Lovelorn children; the deaths of their partners produces a exquisite suffering from which he can draw power. Even so, they are very much the Black Sheep of the Children of Delight. The unfavorites.
The Keeper of Secrets Siisr'shyk'amish is the oldest and most famous of the Lovelorn. They are an embodiment of Slaanesh during the Era of Love and one of the co-rulers of the Circle of Carnality. The Dark Prince has a curious relationship with Siisr'shyk'amish, looking upon them as one might fond memories that will never again be. But also with disgust...and envy.

Some thoughts about a 30k/40k "Roleswap Heresy"
I know there's a "Dornian Heresy" out there and I'm certain I've seen someone's take on this concept where it was Guilliman who went 'Full Horus'. So assuming that it's a straight swap of who went Traitor and who didn't here's how I'd do things:
The Arch-Traitor role: The person who takes Horus's place in this hypothetical scenario.... I'm gonna go with Sanguinius for several reasons.
Khorne still doesn't get him this way.
The aesthetic of the fallen Angel turning on the Emperor.
We still get Horus Vs Sanguinius at the end of the siege of Terra.
Dante as Abaddon's equivalent in 40k.
Blood Angels taking the role of the Black Legion (The Black Angels?) In 40k, the go to Chaos Legion with followers of all four Gods in their ranks actually works surprisingly well....Death Company are Khorne Berserkers, the Blood Angels are a legion that degrades over time and that just feels like something Nurgle wants a piece of, Everything about the Blood Angels aesthetic and the way they're describing in the novels is just Slaanesh levels of pretty and of course they'd have winged librarian Dreadnaughts as a Tzeentch option.
Straight up Role Reversals: Because these feel like they have to be done.
The Iron Warriors and the Imperial fists would switch places....Which in 40k would mean that there's no loyalist Black Templars, at least not as an Imperial Fists successor.... Although I could imagine the role being filled by a Word Bearers successor Chapter.
The Dark Angels and the Alpha Legion....And still nobody knows which one is the loyalist. The potential for stories here would be great, because even here nobody would know where the Alpha Legions' homeworld was or where any of their successors were based; problems with the inquisition ensue.
The Four legions dedicated to the Gods:
Nurgle gets the Iron Hands - But only after Ferrus Manus dies.
Tzeentch gets the Space Wolves... and I can hear the hate coming but hear me out, it's another fun role reversal and their aesthetic lends itself well to a shamanic vibe and a style of play and general vibe that's Tzeentch but not in a thousand sons way...Hell the curse of the Wulfen could be their version of the flesh change.
Slaanesh gets the Ultramarines and this one feels right, of course the Primarch who literally wrote the book on what it is to be a Space Marine fell to the God of Excess.
Khorne gets.....And I'm gonna explain myself beforehand here. I've heard it said that if it wasn't for the Butcher's Nails Angron would have been the kindest Primarch and that he had the ability to take away the pain of others.....So I think it would be thematic to make the Salamanders Khorne's chosen Legion. They're the Burn in Kill, Maim, Burn and Demon Vulcan is a terrifying prospect.
Which leaves the White Scars and the Raven Guard to fill the roles of the Word Bearers and the Night Lords and funnily enough I could see both Legions working as a Night Lords equivalent in their own ways.

Just took a peek at Renegades: Lord of Excess, the new book with an Emp's Children warband? I only read the first few pages of the reading sample and not bad. So far.
Some highlights:
- the closest thing to a sexually (?) intimate (?) Heterosexual (?) scene involving a space marine we probably will ever get.
Tumblr media
- His lover (?) is a demon of Slaanesh who was imprisoned by Aeldari for some reason?
- lacks the sometimes existing "effeminate queer man=bad" vibe some fiction about EC can have if you know what I mean. Y'know, the Snex scene involving N'Kari and Fulgrim and how it was described on the Lex? That vibe
- that warband took lessons from the Night Lords when it comes to Interieur decoration
Tumblr media
- that part:
Tumblr media
Vulnerability = most perverse

how the chaos gods "speak"
slaanesh: the chaos god you can most "have a conversation" with. might speak over you frequently, but speaks using Their face. will respond when spoken to and you will know it is Them.
nurgle: you could hold a conversation with nurgle as well, but he's the type to mostly listen to you speak. if he decides to respond, he does it using his face and is like 90% likely to touch your shoulder and give you some form of pox. perfect grandfather vibes
khorne: doesn't speak. her presence just makes you start blurting out possible answers to your own questions and so on, which wouldn't have come out of your mouth if you hadn't been talking with her but aren't super obvious as his responses either. like the world's best rubber ducky
tzeentch: doesn't speak, doesn't not speak, but a secret third thing. either what it wants to say appears in your head fully formed or it makes other things talk in their own voices, like your eyes or some shit, but your brain is having a really hard time differentiating if it's tzeentch speaking through the object or if the object is speaking for itself or if it's just your deep thoughts

I just realized that "Slaanesh has god-level ADHD" perfectly fits with the canon. Imagine being an eternal entity based on the fleeting nature of mortal emotion?
It's not like Khorne who represents the inherent violence of nature clashing with civilication, nor the everpresent concepts of stagnation or change. The three older gods have a pretty solid basis to draw from, the concepts they are built on, these very specific fears surrounding nearly all sentient life are almost a universal constant. Their interpretation might change, but the basis is still there.
But Slaanesh? Slaanesh got none of that. Slaanesh jumps from emotion to emotion, desperate for nourishment. It does not help that she was formed by an Eldar mindscape and now sits in an universe mostly populated by humans, who experience emotions much less intense and therefore leak less "emotional juice" into the warp.
Slaanesh is the only god for who it would be in character to just straight up stop an entire plan because they lost interest. Who forgets to show up to a war because they were too busy hyperfocussing on some random art-festival half a galaxy away. While Tzeench has a million plans, Khorne does what he does, and Nurgle has his immovable stance on things, Slaanesh is just there, vibing.
Gaining followers and servants is almost more of an accidental affair, as Slaanesh is just vibing and people are seduced by what they are vibing to: the full galactic spectrum of mortal emotion, especially specific parts of it, like obsession, pleasure, satisfaction, hysteria, and euphoria - but also the craving for "something new".
The destructive part for mortals comes into play when Slaanesh eternal nature is incompatible with the fleeting performative nature of such things. Slaanesh does not want these things to end, so these things get stretched out, amplified, and whatever else can be done to not "let the high end".
This is where a god of emotion becomes a god of excess.
All because on a divine level there's just not enough dopamine going around, so Slaanesh is always on the hunt for the next thing that either gives a dopamine high or distracts them from their lack of such.

Imagine being from a world in Warhammer 30k which was sort of like Lorgars world where they worshipped the Chaos gods, but instead of worshipping them the Reader and their clan instead have honed and perfected the art of summoning and subjugating the various types of Chaos daemons. Like to the point where Nurgle daemons are used to improve fertility in cattle/crops, Khorne daemons are used as guard/attack dogs, and so on. How would the Primarchs/Big E react to their s/o being capable of this?
This definitely fits with my sorta view that.. I mean, Chaos does have its inevitable place in the world. And it has been established that with the whole belief system, there are minor 'gods' that sort of exist. But Chaos is a culmination of everything (and it happens in grimdark dystopia that it all sucks)
But we have been shown good sides of Chaos (or at least told OF them). With Slaanesh's pleasure (and pain does have its place in the world) [with Steeds being a good example because.. I mean they don't really actively do anything malicious, they're just curious titty raptors that like to vibe]; Khorne's honor (and bloodshed, because he IS the Warrior god) [and most things I see of Khorne are low-key pretty mechanical as well]; Tzeentch is ambition and psychic powers (both of which are important in the society of 30/30k and general life); and Nurgle's mortality (as well as disease having its place) [as well as rot and decay i.e mushrooms having its belonging in the food chain]
I'd imagine there's an UNDIVIDED tribe/settlement (going with tribe in assuming this is also a nomadic world similar to Colchis) as well as a tribe corresponding to each separate god (I can elaborate more but tl:dr: the khornate god takes in exiles/willing followers and uphold the Dedications of the Blood in which they attack the other tribes while dressing themselves similar to the daemons this also aids [unintentionally] in keeping the population down)
In saying this, I'd probably say it'd function closer to this: Nurgle - Sacrificial uses are plant based and generally the end of a life (i.e composition n such) while not many of his daemons are used, he's certainly revered enough
Slaanesh - The arts generally, but daemons are used to aid in performances or even arcetecture however you spell it lmao. No sacrifices so much as dedications and performances
Khorne - Sacrifices and Dedications. Honor aspect is leaning towards upholding laws.. in a sense. Laws being more eye-for-an-eye in this case. Daemons are used to aid in combat and transportation
Tzeentch - Lowkey.. a lot of things sort of goes with Tzeentch. Daemons are very versatile with this one. Sometimes takes sacrifices, sometimes dedications. Very unsure?
Note: Just Leman, Magnus, and Lorgar this go around cause I just had ideas for them and for simplicity's sake, the planet is called.. Let's call it Asybor (a-SIGH-boar)
Your world.. was one of peace. Similar to many worlds and yet.. oh was it so different. For the taint of the warp was upon it, so they said.
You were a Fraslen; a Sky Speaker. Runes were both carved and tattooed into your body.. yet they were artful and done with precision. A curling ball of flame upon your head, a horned triangle of sorts upon your breast alongside three loops with three coiled arrows and upon your back was a circle with a semicircle arrow split in half with another semicircle. These were only the largest however.. All of them curling into each other like beautiful holding hands.
You were nearly barren of clothes this time of year. Loose transparent cloths floated akin to ghosts on your body, with golden sandals protecting the soles of your feet across the hard ground.
You heard it; the songs, the cheers.
You saw it; the blaze of piercing light in the air, the sight of something falling into your planet.
You felt it; as if you were dipped into one of the warming rivers in the northern passes, a feeling washing over your mind.
Something was there..
LEMAN RUSS
It's the great crusade and.. admittedly even this planet was a bit out of his reach. Yet something told him that he needed to be here. It had to be seen. It was a yet to be conquered planet and scans deemed it to be.. suspiciously empty. There were readings of some animals but little else.. and upon a planet so green and clearly rich with life? It was off.
Until he and his ship of Space Wolves landed. Of course, all you knew was that you had to welcome this.. whatever it was. And at first your eyes and your mind were at war with each other. In fact, you had fallen to your knees the moment you beheld the men in strange armors.. their height rivalled the Kortons, their regality was unmatched to those of the Slaniths.
They had surprise as well. Scans showed nothing of human presence; yet here one was.. bearing symbols that made the mind ache.. the soul wander dangerously. Leman Russ.. was having none of it
But.. he was curious. And Curiosity was a dangerous thing. Being the closest thing to the planet's ambassador, you would lead them. And gladly tell them of everything. Why should anything be secret to your brothers of the stars?
You were greeted with skepticism, when you had shown them the elegantly made tents of the Cliff Treaders with their mounts of great winged beasts, they were astounded. Even more shocked when the burden-beasts could even carry one of the warriors upon its back
Yet the Giant one, the Wolf as he called himself was wary.. if not interested in what you had to show. What dangers there were. The only threat upon them was a foolish pack of Kortons that had challenged them. It was a joyous moment to discover how similar aspects of your cultures were: myths, foods, the nomadic traveling of your natures, the worship of nature with respect and wary fear.
You spent most of your time with the Great Wolf; the Star Hunter, Leman Russ..
Enough to gift him with a hand painted figure upon a sky-stone. A gleaming figure of him with painfully bartered paints from the Slaniths. The gifts of Fraslens were extremely few since they had to be Neutral in most things. Especially upon a stone only taken from upon one of the Pilgrimages
There was pain in his eyes when he accepted it
And you couldn't fathom why as he turned his back upon you. Not knowing just how you and your planet's entire precious culture would have to be disintegrated, less they faced His wrath.
MAGNUS THE RED
The primarch that had arrived.. stole your breath away. Where in Leman's case, you were overwhelmed by the presence of such withheld ferocity and the appearance of primality contained.. with Magnus it is conflicting. Massive and regal, but at the same time something was innately Off about him. His soldiers were of similar..
Yet unlike the other primarchs (with exception to perhaps Konrad or Perturabo), with Magnus you felt.. as if there was a chance.
Magnus, and many of the Thousand Sons no doubt (tell me if this is wrong because I am not a Magnus expert) is a scholar. The usage of the.. Warp in natural day-to-day life was astounding! It was..
It was similar to his home. The feeling of.. magic everywhere. Permeating the very soils of the ground itself. Even if he had to get used to the fact that his first meeting with the inhabitants was.. very nude
You lead him everywhere you could, equally fascinated by the technologies he brought with him. He took great interest in the song-tales of the Slaniths, and the story-weavers of the Za'leech.
He was even more interested in the patterns across your body. Struggling to ignore the way that his staring eye made you want to shiver and hide yourself in the most curious of ways. Interested in how each rune, each symbol and picture.. was a testament of your trials and story. Everything from your birth to your current time was put upon you in excruciating detail
Fraslens held no secrets of who they were
So he was stunned when you offered yourself to be an 'Ambassador' of your people. You had already done so much, translating his alien words to your people (with the help of other called-upon Fraslens and exception to the Slaniths and Za'leech who seemed to already Know his words just as much as you did)
You would leave your planet? Abandon everything to represent your people?
It hurt Magnus. It tore him in two. He needed to bring this planet into compliance. To record it but- To do that would shred everything apart.. everything was so harmonious and.. why it was..
All planets took compliance differently. Some peaceful, some not. Some by force and some by underhanded means and.. Why did this world make him so hesitant? Was it the feeling of a home away from home?
Either way. It was a difficult choice. And one had to be made.
LORGAR AURELIAN
It was not the massive deserts of home, nor was it Khur but.. it was a beauty in its own right. Sprawling greenery stretched out before him, segregated by rings of mountains as though many hands eons ago had carved many bowls into its surface
You were the first to greet him.. and he was stunned perhaps just as much as you were. It wasn't every day that someone walked around naked and he had gotten used to the different culture of the Imperium.
Lorgar was silent through the first time he was lead about. Marching with ginger steps with Kor Phaeron and Erebus as you spoke. Multiple times he had to silence his compatriots.. well just Kor Phaeron. Erebus was silent. Lurking. Leering.. planning. His son was always.. off
You were showing him the peaceful and the wrathful. Explaining it all. The Kortons upon their metal-backed land beasts as they ravaged a splinter group that had sought to sow chaos upon the lands. Slanith performances in the evenings and celebrating.. everything; from the births of life, to even just the rains that the Four had blessed them with. The Norngat with their meanderings ponderous ways. Slow; displaying the dedications to caring for the land and unchanging will of nature. The Za'leech, with their mystery and intrigue cause of it. Sparkling the sky with elaborate displaces of wonderous images or serving as the wise soothsayers
Everything was a fascination to Lorgar. No blade of grass was left unexplained
Even if your time was unknowingly threatened to be cut short.. this.. this peace..
It couldn't be had.
It couldn't last.
Not if he could help it. Yet.. No.. he could always turn this further against the Emperor. To sate the lust his Gods had to ruin the formidable Enemy.
After all... is Chaos.. is the warp really so bad if humanity could so clearly live peacefully beside it? Isn't this what Lorgar and the Cult preached?

Ranking The (Known) Primarchs
I decided to do a ranking of all the primarchs based on how much i enjoy them as characters, i will take their lore and designs into consideration. Please note that my knowledge of the lore is pretty shaky so if i get something wrong or don’t know something i refuse to take responsibility.
18: Ferrus Manus. Ferrus is just a bit boring to me. I feel like the mechanicus pull of the technophile vibe better than him and his legion. His character also just seems like he is pissed all the time. I do like his little friendship with Fulgrim, and i remember seeing him talking about how he thinks his legion has gone too far with the hole “the flesh is weak” thing so he had potential but is definitely hampered by getting killed so early in the heresy. Moreover i feel like Vulkan is a much cooler version of the forge master trope.
17: Angron. Angron only barely edges out Ferrus because i feel a bit bad for him. In Arks Of Omen: Angron it is mentioned that he finally feels peace from the butchers nails after dying, only to get revived by Khorne. The problem is we don’t get any Angron from before the nails. It just makes him seem like an angry brute with no real character from very early on, but at least the glimpses of him without the nails are very well written and very sad.
16: Horus Lupercal. Horus is a massive let down as a character. Don’t get me wrong he does have some cool stuff going on, like him feeling scared the emperor will replace the primarchs. That would be such a cool reason for his fall to chaos. But instead Eerbus did some fucky wucky chaos shit and now the bald man is evil. At least make it so Erebus fed Horus’ fears or some shit like that instead of the “he gets stabbed by a demon sword and Erebus does something whack in his dream”. If he had been a less important primarch this would have been fine but he is the leader of the Horus Heresy, the guy who put the emperor on the golden throne and almost killed him and so i feel like he needs something more interesting than “ he got cursed lol”.
15: Fullgrim. Fullgrim is a bit like Horus in that he has a lot of cool stuff going on, but that isn’t related enough to his fall. He and his legion are obsessed with perfection and are constantly striving towards it. That would be such a cool reason for him to fall. Maybe they start experimenting with combat stims a bit too much, maybe they develop noise marines a very effective way to force conquered worlds into compliance, but they push all these things too far and end up getting into the realm of excess thus falling to the prince of pleasure. But nope, the twink picks up a Slaanesh demon sword and now he’s evil.
14: Robute Guilliman. Guilliman isn’t bad, he is just not special. Every other legion and primarch have something cool and original going on that sets them apart and Guilliman just doesn’t. And i get that’s kinda the point right, the ultramarines are the ultimate vanilla marines meant to invite people into the hobby and thus Guilliman has to be the ultimate vanilla primarch. But here’s the thing about vanilla ice cream, it can genuinely be the best ice cream flavour precisely because it’s simplicity allows you to appreciate the quality of its ingredients and the few flavors it has to their fullest extend, but Guilliman and the ultramarines aren’t simple in a way that lets you appreciate what they have, they are just boring. Maybe if they leaned way heavier into their greco roman inspiration it would work, like the new White Consuls character GW released is perfect for what i want out of them design wise. Otherwise Guillimans big thing is that he is trying to hold the imperium together but also he hates what is has become, which could be said about most other loyal primarchs and as such he kinda just bores me.
13: Jaghatai Khan. The Khan is cool and all but he also needs more development as a character. A lot of people seem to like him for being reasonable and not making hasty decisions but that is not enough to carry him as a character. That being said his status as the “wildcard” amongst the primarchs is genuenly fun and i love the mongolian inspiration i just wish there was more of. I guess that’s the best way to describe the Khan, i like what there is but i want more.
12: Alpharius & Omegon. The twins are fun, i like the part where Alpharius meets Dorn for the first time. But again they lack something. They ooze character but i need to see more of them in the works. I have however seen some of their legions armor and it seems to have scales which is just so cool.
11: Lorgar. I like Lorgar, Lorgar is fine. I think he is a cool representation of humanitys need to find meaning in the universe with his desire for religion. I also find that his relationship to Erebus is an interesting representing the way religious and parental abuse and indoctrination can affect someone (note: i am not an expert on the topic nor have i gone through it myself, this is not about accuracy but about interesting storytelling). The problem is that the story of why he fell is really fucking dumb. Not him falling in general that part makes sense, the dude desperately wants a religion and the emperor doesn’t want to be a god, so it’s either chaos or the eldar gods. The problem is with how the emperor handled the idea of the word bearers worshiping him. The writers tend to flip-flop between showing the emperor as a loving father and a cold and manipulative mastermind. The problem is that neither of those characterizations fit the way he dealt with Lorgar. He went to their home world, burned it to the fucking ground and psychically tortured them. If he was  a loving dad he wouldn’t have done that, and if he was a genius master mind he would have known that would only piss of Lorgar and push him towards chaos. And yes this isn’t about Lorgar, but it is an important part of his character development and it just doesn’t work at all.
10: Konrad Curze. Honestly i did not expect Curze to be this high on the list, but i gotta say he is the first primarch i don’t have any real  problems with. He is tortured by visions of the future so he is really tragic, and i like that he is kinda like an evil batman. He and his legion give me enormous so bad that it’s good 80′ies horror movie vibes which is something i love.Specifically he reminds me of Fright Night if anyone knows that one (banger so bad it’s good movie, i highly recommend it) Sure there are more interesting primarchs imo but Curze hits a lot of good spots.
9: Lion El’Johnson. The Lion is in many ways a cooler Guilliman to me. A genius strategist but with a way more interesting design and flaws. First of all the knight theme looks really cool and maps onto the space marine power armor very well. I also like that he sucks at social stuff. Where Guilliman is just kinda good but not the best at everything (vanilla boy) the Lion has clear strengths and weaknesses. And we get to see these flaws create interesting conflicts with the other primarchs. My favourite example is his rivalry with Russ. Russ is very honour obsessed and the Lion only cares about the most effective way to win, so when they have to take a planet together and Russ has to deal with some wulfen problems The Lion takes what Russ considers his kill and the wolf lord gets pissed. These are two very well established character traits leading to a very believable conflict. And they even become friends later on. That being said as cool as the knight theme is i just have other preferences and the Lion sometimes just acts like a huge asshole so he isn’t quite at the top for me.
8: Leeman Russ. Russ is cool. I have already spoken about how his need for honour lead to conflict with The Lion so i won’t elaborate on that here, but i do like his hyocracy of how much he hates the warp and yet uses warp priests himself because he believes they are something else. I also don’t dislike the supposed use of the word wolf in the space woves unit names nor do i dislike the the very wolf inspired upgrade kits, well except for the tails those just seem a bit too impractical. I think this gives the wolves a more unique feeling than the other legions, it’s not just the same unit with a different color scheme. My main problem is that Leeman and the wolves are in the end a very bad take on the viking trope. They live on Fenris a frozen hellhole despite the fact that most vikings were from the more temperate area of Denmark. I get that Norway and places that look like Norway give off more of a viking feeling because they seem harsh to live in, but that’s the problem if you want to send a lot of people out to raid you have to have a large population and that’s hard to get in a frozen and almost uninhabitable place. Also the vikings did a lot of cool stuff like trade all around the world, even so far as to Constantinople (modern day Istanbul) and they settled cities in Ireland and stuff. They were also not as uncivilized as the wolves would have you think. They were general more hygienic than most other people of their time and women had a lot more rights in viking / medieval Scandinavian society than most other places. To borrow a phrase the Space Wolves and Leeman Russ are not space vikings, they are bad viking larpers in space. This isn’t a huge problem and probably only really bothers me and like 3 other history nerds, but still it holds them back for me a bit.
7: Magnus. My favourite rpg class is wizards / spellcasters. Psykers are just space wizards and Magnus is the greatest primarch psyker. He is also a huge nerd which i relate to. I find his desire to impress the emperor / his dad very sympathetic and i think his fall is handled very well. My only 2 problems is that the thousand sons look a bit weird, i feel like there was a better way to implement Egyptian design elements to space marine power armor, and that the horus heresy did him dirty. Specifically the burning of Propero, i like that part of the reason he fell to chaos is because Leeman burned his planet, what i don’t like is that he didn’t even talk to Leeman when asked to and just let him destroy Prospero and now 10k years later he is salty about it. Major bruh moment.
6: Vulkan. We are now getting into the territory where i don’t have any real complaints about any of the primarchs, and it’s just personal preference (even more than the rest of the list). I like how Vulkan is the most humane and kind of the primarchs, and how he still burned a defenseless human child to a crisp. I like this because it highlights how humanity and the Imperium are genuinely fucked up. Vulkan is by far the best person in the Imperium and even he does war crimes. I also like how he and his legion are very self sufficient and value the craft of smiting and making their own weapons. And of course their armour is sometimes designed to look like lizards / salamanders or dragons, which is cool af.
5: Sanguinius. Now some people might say “Sanguinius is too perfect” and too that i say, that’s the point. He represents a golden light of hope within the Imperium and when he died the universe became a darker and more grim place. He taught his legion art and self expression and greatly improved their well being, but he was also the most powerful primarch He perectly represents the tragedy that makes up the Horus Heresy and the 40k setting in general. And all of this puts a huge burden on his poor sons, most of all Dante. The poor guy just wants to rest but is also too much of damned hero to just call it quits and so he keeps fighting for the Imperium. The blood angels could use a bit of a range upgrade soon tho, if we don’t get primaris Dante and an updated Sanguinor i will riot. In general great primarch and glorius hawk boy.
4: Perturabo. The traitor primarch with the most believable fall (besides magnus) imo. It is easy to see how he felt unappreciated, and how his fall could have been prevented if the emperor showed less favoritism. And he still comes across as a villain jut a very sympathetic and believable villain. He also pulls off the heavy industrial look very well. Ooh and he summons demons, force them into machines and use them as weapons, that’s fucking awesome. And then there was that time during the heresy where he beat up Angron, or the time he refused Nurgle, just a lot of badass moments.
3: Mortarion. Look, i am THE Bringer Of Plagues. I love diseases, they are cool to me. And Morty is a giant demon man with moth wings who spreads disease. I also love the skaven and the Death Guard are the closest we currently have to 40k space skaven on the tabletop (at least clans pestilens). I also have a whole ass post about why i like his fall to chaos on my blog you can read if you want so i don’t want to reapeat myself. He also has a scythe, one of the coolest weapons. There is nothing not to love about Mortarion, and i will defend him to the day i die.
2: Rogal Dorn. I recently binged all of TTS, and i gotta say i fell in love with Dorn. Well i already loved him from that interaction he had with Alpharius i mentioned earlier, but TTS made me love him even more. I don’t know how accurate the bit of him taking things very literally is to the actual  canon is, but if he does it just 1% as often i love him. I also relate heavily to that trait since i also tend to take things very literal. Also i like power fists, they look cool to me.
1: Corvus Corax. I have a confession, when i was 14 or so i entered my emo phase and i have never left it, nor will i ever leave it. Ravens are also my favorite bird, tied with peregrine falcons tho. And the The Raven by Edgar Allan Poe is my favourite poem, tied with Ozymandias but still. So when you give me an emo / goth looking primarch,  named after the latin name for ravens, who quotes the poem The Raven (Nevermore), it does things to me. I love how the Ravenguard incoorperate raven like features into their amour but i want more. Also i would love it if their geneseed made them more tall and lanky instead of just buff, so they would look more stealthy, but this is a very minor complaint / headcanon. I also fully believe Corvus is the most badass primarch. Spoiler warning for if you haven’t read Shadow of the Past. Corvus enters the warp, becomes a fucked up looking raven shadow demon monster warp entity thing, capable of splitting himself apart into ravens made of shadow that can cut through the power armor of the word bearers, and the proceeds to absolutely dunk on Lorgar who has at this point ascended into demonhood, like he makes Lorgar look a bunch of wet paper. And the line he says as Lorgar runs off and hides behind his portal “ I have your scent now, Lorgar,'. I will find you, Lorgar! I will destroy you and every vessel you have filled with your taint!” . Fucking awesome. On another note i like how we see his past has affected him. Growing up on Lycaeous gave him an intense hatred of slavery, which is yet another reason he hates Lorgar who uses quite a lot of slave labour, makes a lot of sense. My last point is this, i like that he sounds like he is always reciting edgy emo poetry. I hate the fact that the primarchs grew up on different entirely different planets and yet they all talk very similar. Yes they have slight variations to how they speak but nowhere near what would be expected given how different cultures they grew up amongst. The Lion should talk in old  / medieval English, real ye olde times shit. Guilliman should sound like he is goddamn Cicero. Let Ruse use the three letters added to the Scandinavian alphabets (google “Danish and Norwegian alphabet Wikipedia” to see what i mean, they also exist in the Swedish one they just look different). But nope Corvus is the only who speaks in a mildly unique way. Anyway emo bird boy best primarch.

Still trying to figure out what Khade's character is like
Khorne is the dad with anger issues
Slaanesh is a narcissistic parent for sure
Tzeentch is the zany uncle who believes in conspiracy theories and has some Undiagnosed Issue
Nurgle is the only one with any business having kids/daemons
and Khade...hmmm. I feel like he should be anger focused as well, but not in the explosive, feral way that Khorne is. He kinda gives me Tywin Lannister, Snoke, or even Hannibal vibes (maybe even Lotso Huggin Bear?), vs. Khorne who's definitely more of an Azog / Stoick the Vast / Spear from Primal / Koba type character.
I'm tempted to kind of go the Greenskins route, with Khorne being a Berserker with Honor and Khade being Honorable with a minor in Berserk.

Idea for a Homebrew Chaos Space Marine Chapter:
Renegade Astartes who fell to Slaanesh relatively recently named the "Shepards of Fire"
Because the name fits the tone and vibes of a loyalist chapter name, but also come on any chapter named after an Avenged Sevenfold song is gonna end up being Noise Marines.
