im gonna shit myself i just saw the voting gauntlet results and edeIgard was in round 1 in two brackets and lost both brackets
as ever we keep the edeIgard loses in round 1 legends going hella strong
#DCB Comments#all we have left are actually good units who will be on the banner so good for us good for us#good for people who actually want good units in a gacha game and aren't just voting to simp#still can't believe ppl voted for a 2021 character for this particular gauntlet#not only did the character I mainly voted for get in the top eight/the gauntlet!!!#but we won round one!!! against uwugard!!! veronica said fuck off with your uwus#bc veronica was a villain to protagonist and she did it right#also for the record i think edegard has gotten to round two one time but she's been in a LOT of gauntlets#and every single other one she's lost in round one lol. and yet the simps still keep trying to vote for her to#get her into this yearly gauntlet. like. they do not learn. for those who don't play this game#they run a poll for us to choose who want to see on a banner to pull from. they put the top eight in a gauntlet#and the top four of those eight end up on the banner. the winner is given to all players for free#so in a situation like this most people want to vote for a good strong recent character#to at least get them on the banner if not for free. this one in particular isn't rly about faves like CYL#you get existing units and we're all just voting for who want to get on a banner or for free#mind you every single year since Houses came out the simps won't stop voting for EdeIgard#MIND YOU this year a unit from 2021 got in which was Fallen EdeIgard#rather than voting for late 2022 or early 2023 units who are improved and you know power creeped#they don't actually vote for newer units or necessarily good units (re: og EdeIgard before)#apparently tho they whine that they're oppressed when they keep losing every single gauntlet lol#Formortiis is literally right there we don't need Fallen EdeIgard hjagjfgjs#DCB Heroes Stuff

ROUND 4 MATCH 1
Tumblr media
Qiu propaganda:
“i love them sooooo much i was completely head over heels for cove but then i found out about qiu lin and ol2 and they took that spot in my brain IMMEDIATELY. that should say enough. also i just really want them to win this time </3”
“They're my beloved :] and also the only OL character not disqualified so I had to hdjdbdj I just wanna see how far they can go now :]”
“Genderfluid ADHD monarch. They enjoy mountain biking and ballet. As a kid, if they're set to Crush, they'll desperately try to find a way to link the MC's favorite color to themselves in an attempt to impress. They're the most popular kid in town and for good reason. Can be sharp as a tack, especially in social situations, but also can be so endearingly stupid.”
“Listen. Listen to me. Here's why Qiu Lin deserves the win (ha)
- They're a trans POC love interest (specifically genderfluid and chinese-american)
- They spend a lot of time in Step 1 (the first part of the game where everyone is a kid) being super nice and trying to accommodate for you
- They specifically try super hard to bring you (and Tamarack) into their already established friendship group
- (It doesn't work out super well initially but they're trying, be nice)
- Qiu's also just. Super sweet when you're set to have a crush on them in Step 1
- Like, their word count almost doubles when they have a crush on your MC
- There's one part of the game where you can bring up your favourite colour
- On a friendship route (or if you're set to neighbours), Qiu will maybe make a short comment about something related to your favourite colour
- On crush? Qiu stretches so far to tie your favourite colour back themself. Your favourite colour is green? That's the colour of their jacket!!! It's black? Like their bike, did they mention their cool bike!!! It's white, [imagine this is in italics] the inside of their house (no, really)!!! [end of imagining this is italics]
- They're also set to have an arc about much they accommodate for others and how they go from over accommodation in Step 1 to no accommodation in Step 2 to finding a balance in Step 3
- Also, like, they do in fact go through gender identity issues. In fact, they spend Step 2 not quite knowing their gender identity fully
Now, vote for Qiu!!!!”
"Genderfluid and uses they/he pronouns.
Their hobbies are mountain biking and ballet.
Most popular kid in town by, like, a mile. And for very good reason.
Immediately devotes themself to making sure their new neighbors (the MC and Tamarack) feel welcome in their new town.
Loooooves teasing their friends.
Is genuinely confused if the MC doesn't immediately consider them friends because. He considered you friends.
Not canonically ADHD (yet. things can change.) but like. The ADHD vibes are strong.
Forgetful and writes stuff down in a notepad to remember it, then proceeds to lose the notes. This happens constantly.
They have a whole arc about going from being overly accommodating and giving too much of themself to others, to closing off and not giving anything, to finding balance and figuring out how to be kind and caring without overexerting themselves.
Also, one of their closest friends is a trans woman. This is relevant simply because I love Renee and had to mention her."
Halsin propaganda:
“I haven't played the game but he's hot, and that's enough for me”
“Big sweet dude who’s a bit of a daddy and a bit horny. He’s also really chill and the potential poly route for this game, which datable games hardly ever do. Also, apparently he might not originally been meant to be a full companion and romance, but then people were so horny for him in Early Access they memed him into the full game like Sans Undertale in Smash? I think that should just say it all for why he should get in.”

Listen, I have no idea how that’s even possible, but the second episode is just as good as the first one, if not better.
I’m actually struggling to think of anything that was not to my taste, so again, I’ll begin with cons, since I have a feeling those will be much shorter:
1. Alicent harming herself 🙄🤨😒
Not so long ago I’ve made a post about different show where I’ve pointed out this newest trope writers use. They make the most unlikable character in the story either a victim of rape, self harm, or a minority in order to make them look more sympathetic. More often than not, they do that to female characters. It’s disgusting, it’s on the nose, it has no place in this story. I hate it. Let women be bad characters, we are only people, we can be terrible bitches just like any other random dude.
2. The Wigs™. Nothing new here, still bad though. The one for Laena is sending me 🤣🤣, they did my girl dirty.
3. Rhaenys’ talk about men not choosing her, when she was supported by two Great Houses and the House with the largest fleet in the Kingdom 🙄. This woman should know better than anyone that the Great Council was a suss and the voting was cheated. I have to say, though, that there is a big chance she was simply manipulating Rhaenyra, just like Corlys was manipulating Viserys. I’m putting this in cons just in case for now.
4. I hoped that they would change Dragonstone’s design, at least the interior. That’s an ancestral seat of the Royal family at the time of their peak. It kinda made sense for it to look dreadful in GOT, but not in HOTD.
5. The little figures shown during the choosing of the next Kingsguard were pretty and all that, but what was the point of them? I have no idea.
6. It seems they’re not going to make Strongs members of the Oldtown Triad conspiracy, and that’s a shame. It takes away a lot of depth from Harwin’s character, if not all of it. It also simplifies the coup for ‘common viewer’. As if we were not capable of understanding it. Not to mention we’ll no longer have the tragic irony of Viserys replacing Otto with Lyonel thinking he made a difference, when in fact this changed nothing 😞.
And that’s it. The rest was wonderful.
1. I simply adore Corlys being a manipulative asshole, playing for himself and his family and for no one else. I was so worried that the writers would go for Velaryons being Targaryen’s bitches and besties and *Yay! We are so proud to be light!Targs* thing. It sure is what most of this fandom has thought about them for years. Corlys twisting the situation on the Stepstones into an excuse to wed his daughter to the King and going after Daemon as soon as Viserys puts him aside was brilliant. The fact that he straight out admits by the end of the episode, that the situation on the Stepstones puts HIS House in danger 🥳😍. Love to see it.
2. We can witness Rhaenyra slowly trying to gain her voice during political meetings and how quickly the entire Oldtown Team shuts her up. It shows us so clearly, that they’ve used her for their own agenda and that with Daemon gone, nobody, even her own father, gives a single fuck about what she wants to say. It’s so heartbreaking, seeing just how strong Otto’s grasp on Viserys is.
3. Rhaenyra choosing Criston was such a great scene covering multiple pieces of storytelling. The way she has to stand on an increase, to make us understand how ‘small’ she still is. Rhaenyra smiling, truly smiling for the first time in the entire episode before she sees Daemon again, while she chooses a man who will later bring death to her and her children, almost brought tears to my eyes. Also, her already having stronger backbone and doing something Viserys couldn’t do for years – standing up to Otto. The fact that she picks Cole not because she’s smitten, but because Criston is a great fighter.🤌🤌
4. Love the little detail of Otto trying to put someone from House Crakehall or Mallister on the Kingsguard. Crakehalls will later fight for the Greens, while Mallisters wanted to fight for the Greens and changed their minds only after Velaryons’ threatened them intervention.
5. I still hate Alicent being Rhaenyra’s friend, but their scene was full of brilliant characterization. They used it perfectly to show the contrast between the two. Alicent being this pious, well-bred Lady, who knows her place, does her fathers' bidding, goes to Sept, prays for her mother and tells Rhaenyra that she should not get involved with politics. And Rhaenyra, talking about men plotting behind her back to a person who is actually plotting behind her back (and good lord, I love this scene!) and trying to act for herself. It’s a beautiful build up from the last episode, with Alicent being terrified of the septa and feeling this pressure to learn, because that’s what is expected of a Lady vs Rhaenyra already having the knowledge, because it’s an interesting story worth knowing and remembering, as well as the iconic „fuck the septa”.
6. I love how the show emphasizes the difference between Valyrians and the Andals and how Rhaenyra and Daemon are the main representatives of their culture. They refuse to abandon their traditions, to forget their language and faith. I love how it shows them not really belonging in this country, in their own court. Love how it explains Oldtown preferring Viserys who managed to acclimatize better. Rhaenyra doesn’t even know what to do in the Sept, because those are not her gods, yet she’s still being respectful. But that was never enough for the Andals, was it?
7. I’ve changed my mind. Velaryons being at King’s Landing actually explains the large plot hole of just how Laena managed to bind Vhagar to her, when Velaryons haven’t been around any dragnos (except for Meleys ofc) for years in the books.
8. I like how smooth the exposition for Rhaenyra’s age was. Viserys talking about her being fifteen makes perfect sense, because what father doesn't find the adolescence of his little girl to be terrifying? I salute all the idiots screaming about her being eleven.
9. The microexpressions Emily gives are just cheff's kisses👌. Alicent knows very well what she’s doing.
10. Rhaenyra wearing Daemon’s necklace even after all this time and ‘the heir for a day’ rumor 😭. She doesn’t believe it for a second, and I love it!
11. Viserys straight out admitting that he thinks of Otto and Grand Maester as the Small Council. Not that he’s wrong, but the fact that those cunts don’t even have to pretend, yet still do, shows you just how calculating they are. The little comedy Otto does with Mellos, trying to make it look like one is for Laena and the other is not, yet we still got treated to the little look maester gives Otto, like „c’mon man, this is your line now”. I want to kiss the showrunners.
12. Laena asking after Vhagar. Yes girl, you have your priorities in the right order!
13. The fact that they point out Lords making vows to Rhaenyra and how it does change everything. Finally somebody understands how feudalism works. Rhaenys storming off with a huff, because she knows she’s been talking nonsense and trying to twist the facts, yet it’s still not working on Rhaenyra. „Your father is not a fool”, please Rhaenys, you can do better than that.
14. Otto jumping out of his chair to stop Viserys, because he knows that if he allows the two brothers to meet, they will make up and all of his hard work will be for nothing. The audacity this man has, to say that Daemon would harm his brother, when he’s the one plotting House Targaryen demise!
15. I know I’ve made many jokes about it as soon as I saw it, but the scene on Dragonstone is actually brilliant. Daemon increasing his provocations to the point where he can no longer be ignored was a smart idea to make his brother meet up with him. If not for Otto, it would have worked. The fact that he takes the specific egg, hoping that if he doesn't get to see his brother, he at least gets to see Rhaenyra, again shows you that this man just wants to be with his family. And when it doesn’t go as he’s planned, he at least makes an attempt to rouse Otto, counting on him to take the bait and give Daemon an excuse to finally kill the cunt where he stands.
16. The dismissing way in which Daemon addresses Ser Cunt, the “very good” line. Oh, how well we were served this week 🤭🥰.
17. The way this episode makes it explicably clear that dragons are the most deadly weapons in the world and that dragonriders are a tremendous power the King wields. And show writers are hammering it down hard. First when Rhaenyra points it out to her father, who’s constantly being manipulated into forgetting just how large of a force he has at his disposal. Then again when Otto calls the egg weapon. And then again when we see Ser Cunt, the rest of the Kingsguard, and Otto cower before Caraxes. Yes, Cole might be a better knight, yes, Kingsguard might be better trained than City Watch, but it still makes no difference because Targaryens have dragons. It was a great scene to make viewers understand, that if you wish to get rid of Targaryens, you have to do it without openly challenging them. Because if you do, you’ll lose every time.
18. The face Otto makes when he sees Caraxes 🙌👏. The fact that book readers can see the moment he remembers Hightowers' own prophecy. That if they ever dare to fight dragons, the Oldtown will burn. The fact that he almost believed the lies he’s been feeding Viserys and forgot for a second why Targaryens are the Royal family in the first place. His forced calmness, the way he straightens his back and gives his men the command to stand down. That was some wonderful characterization done with only one line of dialog. And it makes him look like a badass even though he’s retreating.
19. Daemon standing down as soon as he sees Rhaenyra, his little smile when she lands, him throwing her an egg. She’s been so alone this whole time, with both Rhaenys and Alicent dismissing her new role, her father ignoring her, the Small Council basically treating her like a joke. And here Daemon is, giving her what she wants without any fight. It’s also such an important little detail for how this story will unfold. This man hates the mere idea of Rhaenyra being angry at him, she’s the only family member who still loves him implicitly and for a man who craves love as much as he does, it makes perfect sense that he’s ready to do anything to prove himself to her. The fact that Otto is right there to see it, explains even more the Oldtown Triad using this affection against them later on.
20. By the way, I love how Otto begins this episode with absolutely ignoring Rhaenyra as an opponent and only seeing her as a naive girl, who's there just to serve his purpose (the same way he uses his own daughter), only to realize by the end how much of a real threat she is. He’s just caught up to the fact that he made Lords of Westeros swear fealty to a woman who’s a dragonrider, a dragon hatcher, is actually very comfortable with her valyrian roots, has a very good relationship with another dragonrider, and who at the age of fifteen dares to challenge him and straight out ignores his council. The irony of replacing Daemon with someone much, much worse is slowly starting to bite him in the ass.
21. The writers really be out there, pissing on all those morons claiming that Daemon is a power-hungry madman, who wishes to take his brother’s crown. „I’ll speak of my brother as I wish. You will not.”
22. I loved watching Corlys exploiting Daemon’s position in order to get Caraxes to deal with his war. It’s a really well-played move.
23. And here we have it, Rhaenyra’s final realization that she’s truly alone, that she can’t trust anyone, that nobody at court stands in her corner. Which will later explain her need to find someone just for herself, and the way she’ll see and use Criston, and her happiness at having Daemon back again, and jeez, it’s such a well-writen story!
So yeah, another episode that turned out to be great. I was still not over my shock from last week and they did it again, they gave us good ASOIAF content. Can’t wait for more.

🕯️(from Daryl)
What Rick thinks about Daryl.
Tumblr media
Surprisingly enough, i think it didn't change much along the seasons. Rick knows Daryl is a good person. Full of problems and isolated, he is aware, but still a good person, and most of the times, he managed to have Daryl contribute to the team and stay on their side. Because Daryl is a lot driven by emotions, Rick did a great job at manipulating him in so many situations. Overall, I would say Rick was an asshole to Daryl so many times, mostly indirectly, by locking his brother on the roof and have Daryl go with him but use the trip to mostly recover the bag with the weapons instead of searching for Merle, let Daryl go search for Sophia on his own so many times despite being so dangerous ( he didn't offer to help all the times but also didn't stand against it). And when he decided to kick Carol from the group, it was pure injustice against Daryl, as well in Woodbury, when Rick tried to have Daryl abandon his brother (again) to escape with them instead. Later on, behind Daryl's back, Rick tried to use Merle to take Michonne to the Governor for a peace deal, but ultimately regrets it. That choice though leads to Merle's death.
Rick knows Daryl has a strong sense of justice, therefore, uses many moral arguments to convince the hunter to help him out. He also knows Daryl is alone and does what he can so he feels part of the group, giving him space when he needs but always being around to include him in tasks and such. Daryl probably is aware of all that, but he doesn't care, because he agrees with Rick's approach on decisions most of the time. It was inevitable though, how Rick became emotionally bound to Daryl, because well, he knows Daryl is aware how Rick himself can be selfish, manipulative and coldly use people; Daryl even so was always there for him, despite Rick's flaws. The huge trust and leadership support Rick gets from Daryl in the worst moments, probably the sheriff would never be able to explain it with words.
Tumblr media
Rick and Daryl's bond gets deeper and they become each other's moderator of morals. Sometimes Rick is breaking the boundaries and starting to act too cruel, like on season 4-5, Daryl will try to hold him back. Daryl starts acting too cruel, Rick holds him back, and so on.
And it's in that dynamic that Beth ends up dead, and Daryl in a way blames himself for it- Rick had decided for a direct assault, where they would kill the main officers and rescue Carol and Beth, while Daryl and others from the group voted against it and chose to negotiate, which lead to Beth losing her life. Rick knows he feels guilty, but says nothing, he also feels guilty as the leader.
After that event, Daryl begun having a colder approach to decisions. Next time it happens the other way around. Daryll wants to explode the Sanctuary and Rick doesn't want to, they end up fighting and despite overcoming Rick, the sheriff manages to get rid of the explosives. It's interesting how Rick uses his manipulative sequence to try and convince Daryl. First he appeals to the moral sentimental idea, that workers who are innocent could get hurt. Daryl ignores that part. So Rick appeals to the battle strategy, that the workers could be potential allies. Daryl ignores it. So Rick resorts to fear, saying the workers could turn against them if Daryl did that. But Daryl ignores, so Rick tries with force, and despite being beaten down by Daryl quite quickly, he manages to ruin the explosives.
Then Daryl got taken by Negan, humiliated and tortured, and Rick, as failed leader, felt extreme guilt. Without Daryl (and Carol, Glenn and Abraham) he felt weak, lost, insecure and completely vulnerable. Negan took from Rick precisely the people who would rebel the most and give Rick enough impulse to fight back, and it worked for quite some time. Next time Rick managed to fight Negan and have a chance was exactly when he got Daryl and Carol back to fight with him. And it wasn't just a firepower situation, it was mainly an emotional situation. When Carl died and Rick lost his ground, Daryl was the one who lead the others to safety, including his daughter Judith. Daryl did everything and more for Rick.
Tumblr media
The next time their conflict happened was with Negan's defeat. Rick chose to let Negan live, and again put many manipulative layers so people agreed with him. First the moral one, to not take a life (very hypocrite of Rick but that's just an excuse anyway), then for the fact he wanted to give the community an example and make sure Negan got behind bars (another excuse in a way because keeping Negan alive was always a risk so the Saviors could try and break in to rescue him), then the excuse he's trying to bring law and order back to a community where people can live together in peace (that's a good excuse, but Rick again, didn't need to keep Negan alive for it)- and the potential true reasons he spared Negan, because Carl asked him and maybe because he wanted to see Negan suffer in prison for a long time, and indeed kill the old, strong Negan as he rots behind bars and gets depression. Daryl doesn't swallow that though, as well as Maggie. That leads to Daryl betraying Rick, by taking him away from the destination he was supposed to, so Maggie got the chance to kill Negan, however, that leads to Rick's "death" on the bridge incident, what makes Daryl feel guilty and spend more than 7 years looking for his friend, while he also made sure his daughter was safe.
Tumblr media
I believe Daryl's betrayal was really a huge surprise for Rick, who knows he also has been lying to himself and making excuses because he still just couldn't deal with Carl's death. But even knowing he was right, Daryl knows it was a bad decision and ironically, Negan ends up saving him and Judith in later seasons- all making Daryl rethink so much and isolate himself again.
I think Rick is aware of how much he pushed Daryl along their journey, and Daryl is aware of how much he let Rick push and use him, but both somehow are okay with that, Daryl is a much better person than Rick showed to be, on the moral and loyal spectrum, and maybe that's why at the bridge, Rick isn't revolted at Daryl- quite the opposite- he just looks proud and thankful towards his brother right before he vanishes in the explosion.
There were many issues that needed solving in the communities, such as living with the Saviors and the conflicts and grudges that still were present. Rick wasn't fully focused on that anymore though, he needed a break. He needed a break but also couldn't give the leadership up. Rick's awful when talking about his personal and emotional issues, and I guess Daryl couldn't see Rick needed a break, that he still hadn't headed from Carl's death. While Rick was trying to heal and build hopes for the future, Maggie and Daryl still were stuck in the hate of the past, and to not blame them, they would deal with the consequences every day, Daryl with the community problems and Maggie with raising her son alone, missing Glenn every day.
Maybe if Rick had a bit more of an emotional intelligence to open up and expose his wounds a bit more and show his emotional limitations, Daryl and Maggie would have understood him earlier, but Rick always kept showing he was alright and justifying his actions with morals or goals, while he was mostly focused on the development of the communities rather than the conflicts. He wanted peace and he wanted a future and indeed, if Rick hadn't vanished, the communities probably wouldn't have had so much problem with the wild winter, Eugene's projects would have received more attention and the Whispirers wouldn't have been such a big problem, since Rick could have negotiated with Alpha, formulated war strategies to deal with them (the Whispirers were very low on firepower) and even guided Alpha's horde away, since the sheriff already had experience with that beforehand.

Thinking endlessly about how the classical Athenians were like, so, on the one hand, many administrative tasks on which our civic apparatus relies require expertise.
But on the other hand, if we appoint leaders to necessary positions on the basis that they're the ones who are best suited to that work due to knowing all about it, that's putting real power in their hands, for an extended period instead of a safe little increment, which sets up our nice democracy of Every Free Adult Native Male Who Can Afford Armor to collapse very quickly into a narrow oligarchy.
But the fact remains that administration actually is skilled labor, especially on the tens-of-thousands-of-people scale they were dealing with, and also involves situations where it's impractical to run every step of a process through a committee. Not that they really wanted to acknowledge this but they were stuck with it a bit. If nothing else, people have day jobs, they can't always be voting.
But fulltime governators for whom this is their day job have too much power.
And the way they solved this was, most of the institutional memory and expertise and even exercise of force in the name of civic order was invested in slaves.
Mint workers? Executive accountancy clerks? Cops? All state property.
Very Important Job of distinguishing counterfeit coinage: public slave. Fifty lashes if he shirked or fucked up or cheated. Considerable authority in the context of the job. Could live quite a comfortable life. Absolutely no chance of his using this role as a springboard for building a political base and usurping authority, because he didn't have legal status.
This freed the actual executive positions up to be filled by people given one-year terms by lottery who had the authority to make (routine) calls but no personal power associated with the office; they didn't have to know shit to do the job and this kept them interchangeable.
Except generals, apparently. The Athenians were like, okay generals really do have to know what the fuck they're doing or we'll all die, but we can't make military service the defining feature of citizenship, and then put ourselves under the command of a non-citizen.
(Not even because like they couldn't entrust a slave with so much power, although being under threat of a lashing if people don't like your decisions probably isn't great for making strong strategic and tactical calls; it's the cognitive dissonance.)
So they had ten elected generalships, with less term limitation, and it was in fact a good avenue by which to build a political career.
But like, what the fuck huh?

Joe Tazuna profile analysis
Tumblr media
I like the idea of Joe loving basketball because it gives me the mental image of him loving High School musical and Troy Bolton being his hero and wanting to do theater and dance with Ryoko. Yes this is veering a lot into headcanon for what’s supposed to be an analysis but guess what? My post my rules. Also I wonder if Joe has any pets seeing how he loves dogs so much. I know we hate the manga and using it as a reference should be considered sacrilege but in it, the students of Sonobeno remark that Joe is poor, and if that’s the case he might not be able to afford a dog. I wonder if maybe he had a dog before Mr Policeman died, and they had to let it go because finances were tight. Again, headcanon territory.
And his dislikes also point to a strong sense of justice, again pointing towards Mr Policeman being his dad, a man who left his position to pursue what was right. Joe also hates evil, and people who do wrong, but he has been taught not to have a black and white view. It’s interesting how that comes into play when he gets the sacrifice card. He is deceiving others and leading them on the nose to grave, but he’s trying to save himself and his best friend and admits defeat gracefully and kindly.
Tumblr media
It’s important to remember how when things get serious, Joe is the one who takes them the most seriously. Joe in chapter 1-2 spends a lot of time brooding, angry at what happened to Mishima, and on his own. He was very much coping with a tough situation as much as Sara was, and him extending his hand to Alice was a tremendous act. Joe distrusted people. He wanted to know the votes. It wasn’t just a sweet gesture from a good kid, it was someone opening up his heart and trying to be kind in the worst situation, and that’s what Joe is doing, being kind in the worst of times.
Tumblr media
So there’s a pretty interesting analysis about this bit done by @beanieman that I can’t find at the moment but I want to bring up another piece of symbolism…
Lightning can strike in one place a singular time. In other words the sacrifice could have one result. And when you have that result you can’t take it back. So Joe, where will you direct the lightning?
Tumblr media
Joe himself wearing dog ornaments reminds me of emotion route where he tells Sara “I’ll always follow you! You know, like a dog!” No matter what, he’s loyal to the people he loves first, and will stand by any decision they make. He will kill for Sara. He will die for Sara. He even follows her after his death. Very good symbolism.
Tumblr media
I like this because Sara’s profile states that the dress code for Sonobeno is pretty lax. Either Joe is intentionally wearing his uniform in a way that’s rebellious, but not rebellious enough he can get in trouble, or he’s just so flamboyant and cool his style is bound to grind someone’s gears, and I can’t decide which I like more.

BREAKING NEWS!!!
Is Hairo a genuinely sweet guy or does he hide his dark side under performative activism to reap social capital?!?!!?!? dun dun dun
Tumblr media
I AND MY ASSOCIATES HAVE GONE THRU EXTENSIVE EFFORTS TO COMPILE THIS EVIDENCE POINTING TO HAIRO SECRETLY BEING AN ASSHOLE THAT HE REALLY DOESN’T WANT YOU TO SEE!!
We put our lives on the line for this one folks so GET READY. The CONCLUSION will SHOCK YOU.
Tumblr media
Hairo lies and misleads to get his own way!! Hairo you know damn well that party is getting started and that if Kaidou, Nendo, and Saiki don’t get there soon they’ll miss it. This is such an odd departure from his ‘hustle it’ attitude...maybe he doesn’t WANT them to come? He is consistently shown to BULLY Saiki...
Tumblr media
They are literally pointing and laughing at Saiki but does Hairo care? No.
Tumblr media
In the classroom party episode his ringtone is his own voice yelling. That feels so narcissistic.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He literally impedes traffic by doing sit ups in the school hallway. Where’s the stickler for the rules now, huh? Is the location a coincidence, or did he choose it for how PUBLIC it is so people would fawn over and praise him?
Tumblr media
This is a hard one to witness, folks. He has no respect for other ppls boundaries or health, and encourages people to ignore their health and anxieties for the sake of ‘improvement’ if they don’t do what he wants them to do! Note too how hard he pushes Saiki to step outside of his ‘comfort zone’ in addition to this poor schlub he’s got on the phone.
Also, he’s a SCENE STEALER.
Tumblr media
Saiki does this...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
AND THEN HAIRO IMMEDIATELY DOES THIS? Was he only INSPIRED by Saiki’s so called sacrifice, or was he feeling threatened that Saiki might upstage him? He even pulls the same ploy by sacrificing himself, but ten fold! Saiki even says,
Tumblr media
That Hairo skinning his knee shouldn’t be enough to make him vomit blood. There’s no signs of Hairo being a hemophiliac. I think he had FAKE BLOOD PACKS in his mouth to win him the sympathy vote!
Tumblr media
He puts himself into dangerous situations, but makes sure to take his top off first? What is the point of that unless he wants everyone to admire his vulnerable, held at gun point, shimmering abs? (Also is he oiled for extra shimmer? did he know this was gonna happen? did he arrange for this?)
Tumblr media
He’s always yelling at people w/no respect for indoor voice or sensory issues!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He’s always looking to make a spectacle of himself in public! Hairo did you really need to collect an entire tree from somewhere? You were supposed to get a replacement hammer.
Tumblr media
Animal abuse. So! Awful!
Tumblr media
He’s a method actor like Jared Leto. And again, impeding walkways and endangering others! Hairo what if someone tripped over you!
Tumblr media
He routinely volunteers other people for torment w/out their permission! Hairo did you ASK if your team mates wanted to run fifty laps? Cus I bet they didn’t. All because YOU need to be the BEST so you’ll even compete with your COACH. Shameful.
Tumblr media
He literally incites his classmates to violence and the DESTRUCTION of school property. Is this the class rep who can lead Class 3 to glory?! I THINK NOT.
And most egregiously of all
Tumblr media
HE CHEATS TO BEAT BEST BOY, RENOWNED SCHOOL SWEETIE, RIKI NENDO.
Is this really a good guy... or is there a dark shadow cast over the heart of Kineshi Hairo that yearns not just for so called ‘self improvement’, but to win no matter the cost so he can get the attention he so desires????
To really convince you all, a coffin nail.
Tumblr media
Why doesn’t Teruhashi make Hairo say “offu”? Well it might be because he’s gay, but Kaidou says offu around her so I don’t think that’s the ONLY reason.
BEHOLD.
The only one who beats out Hairo’s charisma, who sways the attention of the populace more than him, who is more popular and seemingly more virtuous than him...
Tumblr media
Is Kokomi Teruhashi.
Not only does his egomania bid him to injure himself (or at least feign as such to manipulate people’s sympathy) and others, to strip in public, to cheat to win win win no matter what, it is so strong it overpowers Teruhashi’s charisma. The only other person who can do that is the over powered protagonist SAIKI KUSUO!
Saiki even asks Hairo, “Are you a demon?”
Tumblr media
Hairo never answers. Because he can’t.
And so I submit to you that Hairo, noted sweaty pyrokinetic is not lit up from the inside by the flames of passion, OH NO
BUT THE FIRES OF HELL.
Tumblr media
And THAT is why he shall forevermore be doomed to never enjoy snowcones, or icecream, or a snowball fight. It’s karma, babee.
Tumblr media
(Hairo its melting its melting!)

Moving right along with a long-time fandom of mine, K! It's still the same Monopoly prompt, so I kept it limited to a specific clan and I have to say, it was a blast thinking about HOMRA playing Monopoly!
Send me a fandom and a number and I’ll tell you who in Monopoly:
Is the banker: It’s usually Izumo. Does he want to be the banker? No. Does he even want to be playing the game? No. So why is he doing it? Because the others convinced him to play and nominated him as banker.
Is overly protective of a certain game token and refuses to play until they get that token: Shouhei really wants to be the doggy. Like, he really, really wants to that token. Please let him have that token or you will hear about it the rest of the game.
Who is the person who everybody always suspects of cheating even though “OH MY GOD IT WAS ONE TIME”: It was multiple times. Every time, almost, if we’re to be exact. But Eric is a lousy cheater, always gets caught, and it’s become almost a tradition of playing Monopoly!
Is the person who cheats and gets away with it because no one suspects them: Totsuka. He just is so sweet natured and his smile is deceivingly innocent but make no mistake, he’s more than willing to play dirty if he has to.
Buys everything they land on with a YOLO approach and no strategy: Chitose. It’s Chitose every time and it never works for him. Yata will try to strategize most of the time and loses every time he does. Oddly enough, a YOLO approach and no strategy is the one way Yata has ever won.
Suggests that they liven it up with alcohol: Izumo, of course. Alcohol is one of his ‘things’, one of the subjects he knows a lot about and is somewhat passionate about.
Has a very stringent strategy and is willing to do strange requests and weird dares in exchange for the properties they want: Rikio actually usually has a strategy in place within the first fifteen minutes. He really doesn’t care too much if he has to do something silly or look a little foolish. He’s kind of used to not getting a lot of respect and hey, he does enjoy making others laugh and if doing so helps him win in the end, why not?
INSISTS that they play by the rulebook TO THE LETTER: Dewa really prefers to play by the rules. They’re written for a reason, they make the game easy to play and understand for everyone, and they usually keep the game from falling into the hours long mess that it normally does whenever HOMRA plays Monopoly.
Throws the rulebook in the other person’s face and makes up new rules to make it better: Yata is bad for this. Him and Bando and Akagi kind of all team up in making up new rules and they increasingly try to one-up each other in just how ridiculous the new rules get to the point where eventually, if the game hasn’t been won, it just becomes unplayable and unwinnable.
Has ridiculously good luck with the chance cards to the point of suspicion: Anna has so much luck with those chance cards. A lot of the boys think she might be cheating. They strongly suspect it. But they’d never come right out and accuse her of it, of course, because it’s Anna.
Lands on all the taxes and as a result vows to vote for a different candidate in the next election: I feel like Rikio has really bad luck when it comes to both chance cards and landing on taxes and he’d probably make this joke to make light of the situation and then the joke would spin off and become a complaint about politics and everyone would get all fired up about the subject and it might just lead to a fight even though he hadn’t meant it to because they’re all a bunch of idiots.
Goes bankrupt first: Poor Chitose. He doesn’t even really try to strategize and just sucks ass at the game, to be blunt about it. Monopoly is not his game…poker’s more his strong suit.
Which two people get into a screaming match: Honestly, it’s easier to list off who wouldn’t get into a screaming match, which was Totsuka, Izumo, and Fujishima. They rest of them either definitely would or could be goaded into doing so eventually.
Which two people are secretly collaborating for a joint victory: I feel like this would be Fujishima and Eric. The two are quite close and would be able to kind of figure out something without much talking between them and I feel like this would be Fujishima and Eric. The two are quite close and would either have a standing alliance for any games or would be able to communicate well non-verbally to agree to team up, and since they’re both fairly quiet people, nobody really notices them too much or gives a lot of thought to how they’ve managed to get so lucky.
Which two people are openly collaborating for a joint victory: Okay, but is there any question that Bando and Shohei are working together? Seriously, it’s so obvious that nobody could doubt it and, just in case anyone did, Bando’s an idiot who pretty much blurts it out at some point.
Who flips the table: I feel like a lot of these boys would table flip when the game got too hot and heated or things kept going sucky for them but I think, because he is so hot tempered, it’s probably Yata who does it the most.
Who is the sore winner who in any other circumstance would be the one flipping the table: Bando wouldn’t be above flipping a table, but probably wouldn’t do it often. Anytime he wins, which is rare but does happen, he is a horrible, horrible winner though who gets very cocky.
Who anonymously calls in a bomb threat to end the game early: I feel like this would be either Dewa or Izumo. They just really, really want the game to be over. They’ve wanted it to be over from the start but ended up roped into it by more enthusiastic friends.
Who is the smart person who refuses to play in the first place: Mikoto might watch. He might even find it amusing at points. But you’re out of your fucking mind if you think anyone would be getting him to play Monopoly with them.

Build Up, Episode 5: First Eliminations
Tumblr media
Welcome back to the recap series that’s never early: BPR Recaps MNET’s Build Up! In the previous one, we covered the four performances that MNET chose not to cover. In this one, we’ll cover the elimination that took place in the middle of episode 5 and give some love to the ten eliminated contestants. Let's do it!
Here we see all our candidates for elimination.
Tumblr media
Top row: Donghyun, Sunyoul; Neon, Seunghwan from CIX; Bitsaeon from M.O.N.T., Jay; Seokhwa from WEi, Woong from AB6IX; Kim Sungjung the musical actor and Lee Gwangseok the freelance model.
Bottom row: Hong Sungjeong, Kim Seohyung; Taehwan from Vanner and Hong Sungwon; Trainee Park Joohee and Kwon Euibin; KNK’s Jeong Inseong and FAVE1’s Hyukjin; and Hwanhee from Up10tion and soldier Jo Hwanji.
The other 20 are safe.
Of those twenty, if I could keep 10, I’d keep:
Jay
Bitsaeon from M.O.N.T.
Woong from AB6IX
Taehwan from Vanner
Neon
Hong Sungwon
Kwon Euibin
Jeong Inseong from KNK
Lee Hwanhee from Up10tion
Kim Seohyung
I don’t like having to choose though, and my heart would want to keep all of them. But those are the ten I’d pick if push came to shove. I’d especially feel sad about losing Donghun, Sunyoul, Seokhwa, and Hyukjin, because I’m worried about Donghun’s mental health, because Sunyoul and Seokhwa are super lovable dudes, and because Hyukjin’s path as an idol is extremely heartbreaking. But I just chose based on whose singing I want to hear again the most.
So, this whole time, I’ve been wondering, how will the surviving 10 be chosen from those 20? I assumed that the fan voting would matter in some way, but nope, apparently, it’s the judges. Yeesh. Why is voting happening again, then?
Tumblr media
VCG, who is apparently the head judge, says that they’ve taken the situation seriously and discussed it carefully amongst themselves before they made a decision. Well, I should hope so.
Tumblr media
The first survivor is someone who the judges say has an unfairly good voice, a different vibe, and a nice physique. That’s obviously Jay.
Tumblr media
Everyone is just like, well, yeah, obviously. It would be pretty unfair if Jay was sent home after that performance, especially when his team outscored every other team except for the team they went up against.
Jay interviews, “I showed that I can sing pop music well, but next time I want to show them proper Korean style singing.” I mean, if you must.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Correctly, the judges also save Neon and Bitsaeon, both of whom did really well. And I’m not that mad that they also save Seunghun from CIX, especially since the fan vote for him is strong. But I'd have saved someone else when there are limited spots.
Bitsaeon interviews, “It wasn’t just Jay – I thought I also showed something in that performance.” You did, Bit, don't worry. Jay interviews that Bitsaeon also being chosen to survive lifted a weight off his shoulders.
The next person they’re going to save is someone who made a mistake, but Solar says that the judges wanted to hear his voice again anyway. They tease us that it might be Seokhwa...
Tumblr media
... but of course it isn't. Who else could it be but wild horse Lee Gwangseok? I just knew the judges would save him. They also save Park Joohee, despite his crying moment.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Musical actor and Best Sweater winner Hong Sungwon interviews that as the names are being called (and his isn’t,) he feels like he’s being shot. “One person, bang. Second person, bang.”
Tumblr media
The next two people the judges are saving are (1) someone with a unique voice and (2) someone else with a pretty low-pitched voice: Sunyoul and Kim Seohyung. I can’t be mad at them saving Sunyoul, as he also has a great voice and I find him particularly lovable. And I had Seohyung on my list too, so again, decent choice.
Tumblr media
Neither of them can believe it.
Sunyoul interviews that it’s hard to be happy since Donghun’s name hasn’t been called. (No loyalty to Hwanhee? I don't notice the two of them interacting much.)  But then the ninth name is called, and it’s Donghun! Again, I’m not mad at it – Donghun also has a great voice.
Tumblr media
As for the tenth survivor, they say it’s someone who hasn’t shown his talent yet, so they’ve decided to give him another chance. We see the judges discussing it, and Solar says, “Regardless of the skill level, there are people who attract the audience.” Oh, so we’re picking an idol, I guess? VCG wonders what would happen if this person teamed up with a different guy? (Throughout, the translation says “friend” because they’re saying “chingoo”, but a better translation would be “guy” instead of "friend".)
And I mean, it’s obviously Woong. For one thing, the previews have shown him in the next portion of the show, and for another, the description fits really well – a popular idol who has more talent than what he’s shown and should be teamed up with different people. And sure enough, they call Woong.
Tumblr media
I'm glad, because I actually really like Woong's singing voice a lot and agree with the judges that he hasn't really shown it yet. He bows to everyone and vows to do his best.
So, here are the ten survivors.
Tumblr media
So, the ten eliminated guys are still great vocalists and took the time to be on your show and do their best, so obviously the least MNET could do is give them a chance to give a brief goodbye speech.
Oh, wait, sorry, I'm getting word that... no. No, MNET is not doing that. No, instead they've decided to... what's that? oh yes, I understand now. They're just going to NEVER SHOW THE OTHER TEN GUYS EVER AGAIN.
So we lost Seokhwa, our leaping lizard Kim Seongjeong, Hong Seongjun from BDC, smiley Taehwan from Vanner, Hong Sungwon of the ombre blue sweater, Kwon Euibin, Jeong Inseong from KNK, Hyukjin from Fave1, Lee Hwanhee from Up10tion, and Jo Hwanji the soldier.
Ok, let’s talk some math for a bit. A few “ifs” to explore…
If...
they had just chosen the top fifteen teams based on scores, rather than having this rivalry thing, then the ten eliminated candidates would have been (and I’ll put the ones who didn’t really get eliminated in bold):
Lim Junhyeok and Yeo One
Taehwan from Vanner and Sungwon of the blue sweater
Hyukjin and Inseong
Hwanhee and Hwanji
Seokhwa and Woong
This would have meant keeping the following guys who we didn’t actually get to keep:
Kim Seongjung, the leaping lizard
Hong Seongjun from BDC
Kwon Euibin
I would have been sad to lose Woong, but it would have been worth it to keep Kwon Euibin, and I think both Kim Seongjung and Hong Seongjun are stronger singers than either Lim Junhyeok or Yeo One.
If...
they had decided the rounds based on average score, throwing out one high score and one low score, then Taehwan and Sungwon would have won their round. (All other results would have been the same.)
If....
Team Hwan-hee-ji had challenged Seokhwa and Woong, and the maknae had gone up against Sanghyun and Taewoo, then team Hwanheeji would have won and the maknae would have lost.
Ok, that's enough "ifs" for now.
It’s a bummer that any of them have to go home. It’s especially galling that Inseong, Hyukjin, Hwanhee, and Jo Hwanji not only get sent home like this, but also didn’t get to have their performance really shown. I hope that the experience of being on the show was ok for all of them, and that every one of them finds a nice soft place to land. And let’s all try to support them in whatever they do next, ok?
I’m really going to miss Taehwan’s smile, but luckily I can watch Vanner MVs any time I want. Here is Vanner performing Adore U (my favorite song by Seventeen) live in Busan. Their mics are ON.
If you’d like to give Hyukjin a stream, his group’s latest single has only 4,733 views at time of writing. The video was shot on (I assume) an Iphone 5, at a warehouse near a train station (I assume). Let’s all give him a stream or two, ok? If everyone who reads my recaps watches their video, we could get that total up to maybe 4,740 or something. That’d be awesome! And here's Hyukjin's Instagram.
If you want to check out KNK to support Inseong, here's the song of theirs I remember hearing a few times in the past -- Sunset. It's full on house music, if you like that kind of thing. I do.
If you want to check out BDC to support Hong Seongjun -- I mean, the group is basically disbanded (I think they might still perform in Japan?) but he might get residuals -- my favorite song of theirs is Moon Rider.
If you want to check out WEi to support Seokhwa, my favorite song of theirs is Spray.
If you want to check out Up10tion, I will again say that I really like their song Spin Off. And here is Hwanhee's instagram -- at least, I think it's his. It has a blue check.
Here's a performance of Kwon Euibin on a previous show. He talks 10x more on this show than he does on Build Up. Turns out he used to be a baseball player, but he kept getting injured and got interested in music while he was rehabbing.  Then he sings Tomboy by Hyukoh, the same song that was done in the Pre-4 mission round of Build Up. He sounds great! And here's his Instagram, teasing an upcoming single.
Here's a performance of Jo Hwanji singing a year ago or so. He's wearing a military outfit here too, and singing to a group of soldiers. His MyDrama List page has this photo of him with longer hair, which blows my mind for some reason.
Tumblr media
I found what I think is his Spotify page if you want to check it out.
Kim Sungjung and Hong Sungwon are both musical actors, meaning that they perform in live theater in Korea, and I couldn't find any social media or anything for them. If you find some, let me know!
So, that's it for now. In the next one, I'm going to award some BRAPPIES! Something to look forward to. See you soon!

have you guys been watching the new be:lift + jtbc survival show R U Next? bc i have and i have some strong opinions on it 🥰
first of all, it isn't as bad as i thought it would be. it's not as rigged or whatever like the survival shows mnet produces. the trainees (22 of them) def have talent and i'm sure all of them can debut someday in the future, if not in this survival show.
i do have a couple things i don't like. for instance, the 12 year old contestant. ena is a japanese trainee who was born in 2011 and trained for only a couple months.
i know i can't force people to vote or not vote for people, but i personally WILL NOT VOTE FOR ENA. it's not really because of her age, but her lack in talent. her singing needs improvement. her dancing is bad. her stage presence is horrible. i'm not trying to be mean, i'm just pointing out that i believe ena is not ready to debut. she will def improve if she trains more, but i know that she's going to get eliminated in the next few episodes because she is NOT READY.
TALENT is the first thing people need to consider when voting. not age. not visuals. not personality. TALENT. are they good at singing? do they have good technique? are they good at dancing? can you feel their presence?
don't drag the young trainees WITH talent down. don't comment "don't vote for ena because we need more adult idols!" no. it should be "i don't think people should vote for ena because she lacks talent". the older trainees may be less talented than some younger trainees, but people want them to debut just because they are older. TALENT, everyone. TALENT. we want GOOD music. not some half assed song with most of it being a bunch of girls twirling their hair and winking in the camera.
next, the situation with wonhee. wonhee is a 16 year old contestant who's been getting a lot of attention for her visuals. i think wonhee has decent vocals, but because she's only been training for two months, her dancing is bad compared to the others and she has absolutely no stage presence. she looks so lost on stage.
wonhee will def improve, but i believe she isn't ready to debut yet. i'm not hating on her or anything.
SHE IS NOT READY TO DEBUT
SHE WILL NOT MAKE A 'GOOD MAKNAE'
I WILL NOT VOTE FOR HER BECAUSE OF THESE REASONS AND I HOPE YOU RECONSIDER AS WELL
i saw someone comment "wonhee can debut because eunchae debuted at the same age as her!" yeah, except eunchae doesn't stare into your soul when performing and actually has developed dancing and singing skills.
so yes
my top 6 rn are youngseo, chanelle, jihyun, minju, ruka, and moka.

Hello, and welcome to M*A*S*H enjoyers anonymous
Now tell us, why are you here?
(basically just a free space to talk/infodump, be free my sweet cheese)
Oooooh boy.
MASH is a show about war, but also mostly it's about people and how people react under stress. Something to note is that it's about the Korean War, but it's actually about the Vietnam War.
It's got its issues, definitely. It's not particularly respectful to Korean people despite being set in Korea. But it was the 70s so like. Idk, can't expect much. There's a lot to unpack in the way of imperialism. The show is very anti-war, but mostly focused on the Americans, which is pretty damn reductive if you ask me. There is also the misogyny and if one more person calls Major Margaret Houllihan "hot lips" I am going to throw hands. I'm not making excuses for any of this, but it's an old ass show and you can't get too hung up on it. ANYWAY, you asked about the good stuff.
The main character, Hawkeye, is this. Unhinged, sleep deprived, alcoholic surgeon who's just. Unreasonably good at his job. Despite the Horrors of War, he's still one of the kindest, most lovable people, and he only put Frank in a shipping crate one time, so it's fine. And the blood he stole was for a good cause. As was the money he stole and the one time he gaslit a guy into thinking he'd lost his mind. All for a good cause. He's so cool, he's a menace, he's a slut, he's deeply psychologically damaged, he's a little silly, he invented the principle behind Goncharov, he's even bisexual.
Hawkeye's best friend and roommate is Trapper John, fellow manwhore and prankster extraordinaire. He always makes me a little sad cause I think he's Hawkeye's best friend and Hawkeye isn't his best friend? To him, it's all temporary, and he'll get out of Korea and go back to his wife and kids and probably try to not think about any of it ever again, but Hawk's such a ride or die friend, and he depends so much on not being alone and. Fuck, man. He's just like me for real. No shit, I realized this a couple years ago, and it sent me into this huge spiral of wondering if my friends love me as much as I love them and it lasted like. Years. And then I did that thing people do where they tell other people about their feelings? Which was weird. But it was also cool and now I do not worry about that as much anymore. A little bit, because the fears never cease, but y'know. It's cool. Apparently I am also sad and lonely because I am FULLY spilling my guts here lmao. Don't read that. Fuck whatever BJ has going on, THIS is the Trapper Complex.
Also Trapper leaves like three seasons in and is replaced by Blow Job Hunnicut, who keeps saying shit like "man, I bet you sure had fun with Trapper, huh" and "boy this must be just like the good ol days with Trapper" like we get it, you're jealous. He's also deeply psychologically damaged. I don't like him so much, but I also haven't seen a lot of him yet so I guess we'll see.
Okay, now MARGARET. She's amazing. She's cool and fascinating and ALSO deeply psychologically damaged! She's a strong woman in the 50s, she's so angry all the time, she just wants some goddamn respect and also someone to hang out with her to do manicures. She has this fascinating mix of wanting to be feminine and pretty but also needing to be masculine and angry to get respect. She's a hardass, she's obsessed with the rules, she's so mad at everything all the time because she has so little control over her situation, she's just like my mother and I love her so much. She could do any man's job in that camp so much better. I like to think after the war she goes back to medical school and becomes a doctor and gets some GODDAMN RESPECT.
Also she's dating (she dumps him don't worry) this absolute schlub Frank who is. A garbage human being. He's so pathetic and funny but also like genuinely terrible and canonically homophobic. If he were in modern times he would vote for Trump. He's Mr. Patriot. He's the Yankee Doodle Doctor. He's a shit doctor. He's so funny to watch cause everyone around him is so funny and witty and good at snappy comebacks and he says shit like "ohhhh you- you- guys!! >:(" Like yeah Frank. Get em. Don't hold back. He's a real "why I oughta-" kinda guy. Apparently the actor got so much hate mail he quit the show which is honestly so mean and tragic because Frank is such a fun character. I want to watch him fail again and again and again and then cause more problems. He could call me a slur in a Walmart parking lot and I'd just laugh at him and ask him if his wife knows about his girlfriend. She doesn't.
When Frank left, he got replaced by this other guy and I have no idea what his deal is. My apologies to Charles Emerson Winchester III. People like him I guess. He seems boring next to Frank tbh.
Now lemme tell ya about Klinger. Actually lemme show you.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
He's beautiful. Gorgeous. Show stopping. He started out as a bit character and the joke was that he was trying to get a section 8 discharge (sent home on the grounds of being mentally unfit to serve), but everyone loved him so much that he became a recurring character and the outfits kept getting better and it went from "haha man in a dress" to "he's a genuinely deep character and this is his coping mechanism and he is so afraid of this war. Also he's the hottest guy around and everyone knows it. Even the priest wants him carnally." Genuinely the best fucking guy. In the early seasons, the laugh track goes off every time he enters a room and it makes me so mad. Take his whimsical ass seriously.
Also I mentioned there's a priest. I'm not sure why they have a priest, but I think that was just a thing in the 50s. He's got too many names. You can find him currently in the Catholic Characters Tournament and it's funny cause the person who runs that keeps getting his names out of order. It's John Patrick Francis Mulcahy, cause they gave him one name in the movie and then changed it in the show like twice at least so. Four names. Anyway, he's the only priest I trust. He literally just wants to help people and he has no way of knowing that he's doing any real good so he wants recognition for his efforts but that goes against what he's meant to be doing, he's meant to be completely selfless, but he wants to know that he's at least doing something, otherwise what's the point. What's the point of everything he's worked for. What's the point of devoting his life to this. To these people and to his god and to being a good person. Because if he thinks of himself, if he wants anything for himself, does that not mean he's selfish? And that's bad, he can't be selfish, but he is because everyone is, that's just human nature to want to know the results of your work. Also he's convinced he's the second coming of Christ or some shit. I can't fully explain this one, but he really does think he's like. God's special little boy. Which is kinda fair, cause he gives fucking EVERYTHING to these people, to the doctors, to the soldiers, even to the enemy, because he just wants people to be okay. He wants people to stop fighting and to heal and to love one another. And he also wants someone to tell him he's doing a good job and that he's making a difference and he wouldn't believe them but it would be something. Also he wants to punch people sometimes. All the time. He could kick anyone's ass in single combat. I love him.
Am I missing anything.
RADAR!!!!! They put a child in a warzone but luckily he is hyper-competent and literally psychic. He makes me sad because he is 19 years old and he has a teddy bear and he is short and angry and eats a lot because he's a growing boy and everyone makes fun of him for having teenager behavior when he is!!!! A teenager!!!! He graduated highschool yesterday!!!!! He's the same age as me and he's in a warzone!!!!!! Get him out of there!!!!! Put him in college and let him work a boring ass fast food job like a normal teenager!!!!! And stop laughing at him for having a teddy bear!!!!!!! He's not even that short, it's just that all the guys in this show are at least 6 feet tall. Anyway, he basically runs the camp because Henry is fucking incompetent (affectionate) so yeah. This child is their commanding officer and the only one anyone respects.
Their actual commanding officer is Henry Blake. He just wants to go home and see his wife and kids again and go fishing and chill the fuck out. He's a good surgeon but genuinely a pathetic army man. But also I love him so much cause listen. He could just fuck off. We see another guy in his same rank and position who just hangs out in Tokyo the whole time making money off this shit. So despite being very afraid all the time, Henry sticks around in a shitty camp 3 miles from the front to patch up kids full of lead. He stays not out of any duty to the army, but a duty to his patients and his people, because he's a good person and a good doctor and genuinely one of the bravest people around. He could've been a coward and hid, but he stayed and he helped people and even though he knew the risks, it just never occurred to him that he could abandon his people to do it all without him. He stayed and he died and he never saw his wife and kids again and he never met his newborn son. He tells his oldest son over the phone to be good while he's gone, to stay strong and keep everything running until he comes back, and he never comes back. I am genuinely crying. Fuck. I hope he's catching the best fish at the big lake in the sky.
Anyway. I'm gonna stop before this gets out of hand. More than it has.

midnight: What keeps your OC up at night? Do they have nightmares? Fears? Anxieties? What do they do in the small hours of the morning when they should be sleeping?
-Well it is mostly debilitating stress, neither team cares much for admin but if they don't perform well enough or fuvk around being friendly for too long there's a non zero chance their contracts will be terminated prematurely. Not ideal. You can't fucking escape the administrator, you either finish your contract or perma die on the job, not always at the hands of the other team. The blus know this and its scary thought no one wanted to acknowledge that's why shell was voted team leader, unfortunately someone Did have to think about it. Both teams are usually pretty good at doing their jobs but sometimes there's off days and sometimes there's lazy days and no one knows when admin is after them until its too late and shell worries. It's been a slow week, is the pointless war still entertaining? Have they done enough? He worries. That's why the teams came together to knock out as many security cameras as possible
nightmare: What does your OC have nightmares about? How do they deal with their nightmares? Do they tell people, or keep it to themself?
-Shell lived with hir gran for most of hir life (most of hir salary goes to ol granny) and whilst they do have telephones if anything happened to her the news would still take awhile to reach shell. Sometimes he dreams about coming for a surprise visit only for the house to be empty. He doesn't tell anyone
hate: What does your OC hate? Why? How do they act towards the object of their hatred?
-Well, he wouldn't call it hate, its a very strong word but ah.. its a very similar situation to milk, the whole 'I love my team, hate how they make my life agony though', being team leader means two things: 1. Worry about all our issues and 2. Everyone is going to heed your advise Less. Yknow those pictures of parents with like 5 kids on the little kiddie leashes who are having the worst time? Yeah. Shell joined the team and became friends with rosa and was like 'ok! This guy has issues but this is only person I'm making myself responsible for' and then and then. Shell doesn't hate anyone or anything and if he did he wouldn't admit or show it. Give it a couple years though

Hi Hira!
Coming here from your poll.
No matter what decision you take, I will support you with it. You’re the author and this blog is your creative space. You get to do what you choose.
I selected Idk as an option because I don’t know what you should do in this situation tbh. I feel you because I feel sorta the same about my Kaeya fic. I know how the fic should go - I know what the major plot points should be and what the conflicts should be and how the story should shape up but currently I have so many other brilliant ideas in my mind for other fics that I want to work on and post so bad that I just want to keep the Kaeya fic on hold or you know , completely scrap it off.
I also get the people pleasing part. For my Lyney fic, I get literally an ask almost every other day from people asking for an alternate ending - preferably with Zhongli. I don’t want to do that tbh. I am still thinking about if I should do that or not. Had it been just one or two people, I might have ignored it but it’s so many that I feel like I am obligated to do it. You know what I mean?
Wait, I am sorry. I got completely sidetracked. We were supposed to be talking about what you should be doing. My point is, I myself don’t know what I should do and I don’t think anyone else also should tell you what you should do. The poll will just mess with you because of the people pleasing tendencies. Imagine if you don’t want to continue the series and then most people vote - no please continue. You may just feel obligated to do it without feeling passionate about it.
Think about it. You can always just get to Mara’s will later. You can pause it or discontinue it. But the decision should come from within you.
nat am sniffling at the end of your message i- thank you for stopping by :(((
i do think its wise of me to pause it instead of discontinuing it as well, i think i'm just stressing about the expectations of people, my lack of lore knowledge when it comes to the honkai impact aspect of the story, and the overall knowledge when it comes to hsr, i'm so glad i'm not the only one who struggles with such things, its more relieiving than you think...
despite the poll, it is ultimately my choice - i know that and i intend to stay strong about whatever decision i'll make, i just wanted to know if some people still remember or care about it, thoughts about it n etc, and i just wanted to inform people about it too
not to mention, i'm swamped with editing masterlists, grieving about jjk men, dealing with yet another unsurprising intense burnout + having trouble with mustering ideas in my long ass fics, i am not having a good time lmao
but as always, your words help a lot. you're like a mother figure to me in all honesty 🥺 (is shy) thank you nat :(((

I’ve been thinking about your Theon-takes-Bran-and/or-Rickon to Alannys more than I probably should and I’m dangerously curious to know how you think his family members (particularly Alannys) would feel in such a situation. Of course, if you’re actually making this a fanfic, you don’t have to answer to this. If you want to daydream in public though…
ooooh glad to have inflicted Thoughts <3
I also am lol and I do not think I would ever be able to make it a fanfic so glad for the opportunity to daydream in public - I anyhow was going to make a post to address all you guys' reply lol. So lets make a little list of thoughts
A lot of my canon divergence fantasies for Theon are victory fantasies, as point-missing as that is, fantasies where he's succesful and loved lol. So the majority of the ironborn including Harlaws and Greyjoys are positively surprised and delighted with this incredibly wild success story. I feel like they would be, it is objectively politically expedient and militarly impressive. Particularly the Harlaws even would be glad as it puts them in a position to negotiate a land concession from the North rather than whatever Balon's plan was... but overall it's just A Win For Theon, politically. May or may not start to feel a little hollow when the morality of what he did catches up to him
Some drawbacks: he may be under lots of pressure to kill one of them given he has two, which he would definitely need to spin this giving-one-to-Alannys-as-spoils-of-war carefully to avoid. Can he? Canon Theon is not this master manipulator lol but they are his hostages. There may be more physical fighting in the battle planning room lol but he's keeping them. Another is that this really seals his claim I feel - it may not be enough for Balon to officially claim him as heir but he would imho win the kingsmoot and he would be at strong risk of being killed by Euron.
This means Asha is just... physically emitting steam all through this. Is she able to swallow her pride and offer him an alliance the way she does with Victarion? Good question. It's more humiliating and personal. He comes and he wins what she's been working on all these years and he dazzles mom when she's been the one bearing that grief and emotional difficulty all these years... this girl is SNAPPING. Interestingly, something Theon probably is not quite able to grasp is that the Harlaws are Asha's supporters and so in this universe he gave her an advantage through giving them a hostage. Could be a fun fic by people who can plot.
An interlude to say I genuinely didnt vote anything in that poll bc I genuinely have no preference/opinion. The nature of Bran's disability is such I don't know which of the two Theon would think is the strongest political threat to keep closer, and the nature of Pyke is that idk whether Theon would think Harlaw or Pyke is the safer place. I also can be convinced by both arguments on which is the most interesting - I liked alley and wexpyke's arguments for Rickon, that he's more mouldable (the idea of Alannys starting to call him Rodrik :///) and unlikely to reveal unpleasant truths (lmao alley I am not picturing Bran telling Alannys about Theon's warcrimes and banging Kyra in Ned's bed. Though probably the worst thing he could reveal in Theon's eyes is how genuinely he was friends with Robb). On the other hand I am sensitive to your argument of Bran being specifically Cat's favorite (and Cat is still alive and might well live, too) and I had considered already the fact he's almost 10 too. Plus cola-fiend gave me the image of him being cooped up in Rodrik's library potentially finding out about important prophecy stuff and ahhhh love it. Though I would also love for him to potentially interact with Euron. I also loved the idea of the hostage being Beth after the noose thing - maybe a version where instead of all this plot happening, he decides to go home when Asha tells him lol. But it's a darker different idea
Now, Alannys's Opinion. Eeeeh good question. It is something I struggle a bit to imagine. I mean how mentally present is she, how much she's able to find out about how Theon's hostage situation went before he leaves for some other war crimes... But overall I imagine for her too it grows hollow. For one thing she would start missing Theon and feeling bitter about this replacement and taking it out on the boy in question I think - it is unavoidable that he can only really stay with her a little while. I think she would be hungry for stories about Theon's years that she missed but get upset about them and not believe them often. I think with Rickon she may genuinely throw herself into raising him whenever she has the lucidity for it and liking how fierce he is and forget she's not actually her little pet project she can send to raid on the Stony Shore in 10 years. Overall the fact these kids are probably getting traded back soon-ish would be hard for her to deal both in term of attachment and of revenge. I think with Bran there's a degree to which she would enjoy to make him her little page boy and have him read to her and like hold her yarn or whatever it is she's able to do to spend her time but find she doesn't really feel satisfaction in it, Theon is weird and cagey about this feelings about having been subservient to the Starks so she doesn't really now how much of this is payback and Bran is sweet and mellow and serious and does not give satisfaction at all. I can see her too both having episodes of calling them Rodrik or Maron or mistaking them for her previous wards and (esp with Bran) or thinking she had a child post-rebellion and somehow forgot. Just very weird for everyone

I want to preface this confession by saying that I have no stake in the discussion. I am not trans, I am not from the UK and I don't care about HP. I made business with V0lks in the past and will continue to do so and I know some people are calling for a complete boycott of V0lks, but I find that, quite frankly, unnecessary. Calling out and boycotting a compony for bad behavior is great, but I see no reason why supporting them for releasing good or 'unproblematic' products should be a bad thing. Anyhow..
The HP franchise or 'W1zarding W0rld' is listed on Wikipedia's 'List of highest-grossing media franchises' as spot Number 10, with a total revenue of $30.06 billion. Realistically speaking, boycotting a doll line will have very little effect on the franchise as a whole. It might stop V0lks from making more HP dolls, but that's about it. I get the argument, it's not just about the dolls, the franchise should be boycotted in all of it's forms. With how popular it is, however, I don't think that's really feasible. It's hard to find numbers on this, but HP is fairly popular all around the world. One of their mobile games made a whole lot of money over in China last year for example. I think it's pretty reasonable to assume that most fans of HP are likely unaware of JKs harmful agenda and then there is also people who buy HP merch not for themselves, but for their loved ones or whatever and they most likely will have even less of a clue about the entire situation regarding the franchise.
So, what now? Educate people, I suppose.
Now, let's say we manage to tell the world all about JKs behavior, etc. and absolutely everyone stops buying into the franchise - or at least enough people stop for it to become unappealing to vendors.
Another quick google search revealed that JK is the seventh richest entrepreneur in the UK, with an estimated net worth of $1 billion. Of course, not all of that is actual money, but I have the strong feeling that she has at least enough cash in her pockets to do whatever the heck she wants for the rest of her life. Even if she didn't earn another penny from today on, she can continue to do what she does, influencing politics, going on cruises, whatever it is rich people do really.
If someone wants to knowingly support JK, that's a decision they have to make for themselves. The impact their decision will have is virtually non-existent, regardless of which choice they make. I don't think it's okay to attack people based on it though and I've seen a couple confessions/comments that got really aggressive and it just baffles me to be honest. I understand where the frustration is coming from, but if you want people to join your cause, don't antagonize them. It's just going to alienate people. I'm not very familiar with sculpts and stuff like that, but maybe someone could compile a list of dolls/sculpts that could work to customize and make 'homebrew' HP dolls. That would be more helpful than hurling insults at each other.
If you really want to do something about the situation go out and educate people within the UK. Voting with your wallet can be a powerful tool, but in this case voting with your, well, vote and getting people to do the same is probably the easier way - even if it's still incredibly hard.

Anonymous said:  For chrollo about: the rest of the troupe. Subject: if something happened to you who would you trust the most to take over the role as boss?
( SEND  “About [NAME]” FOR MY MUSE’S THOUGHT ON THE CHARACTER, OR ADD  “ [SUBJECT] “ FOR SPECIFIC COMMENTARY  )
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“  Hmm  ?  Who  to  be  the  next  head  if  it  came  down  to  it  ?  Any  of  them  could  if  necessity  dictated  it  as  such.  “
[ABOUT: Phinks]  “ Phinks would be capable as a leader. Although he has made errors from personality,  such is human nature. I have made them as well. He holds the spider’s value’s deep and true, and he already leads certain missions when the spider breaks apart into smaller groups. I would be fine with him being the leader. He has the people he needs to help guide the group.“
[ABOUT: Franklin]  “ Franklin has the capabilities to be a good leader. He often remains more neutral than the others and can assess situations without acting impulsively. He is also tolerant and able to work with some of the more volatile members. However, he doesn’t often take the lead, so it may not be the best fit. But he could do so if he chose to.“
[ABOUT: Feitan]  “  Much like Phinks, Feitan has served as the leader before and shows strong capabilities for it and the deep dedication to the values of the Spider a leader should have. I would also approve of his leading.  Although, conversation would not be his strong suit. Luckily there are more talkative members who could handle it.”
[ABOUT: Pakunoda]  “  .  .  .  I do not think Pakunoda would enjoy such a position. She would do so if necessity allotted to her or if ordered, but I think she wouldn’t enjoy it. That said, I do think she is capable, but may need the support of others more than some would. “
[ABOUT: Shalnark]  “  Shalnark would be good as a leader. He is able to correctly assess most situations and the capability of people both in missions and in general. I would be comfortable with him as the head in such an event. He may be the best suited in such an event due to the information and intelligence aspect.  “
[ABOUT: Kortopi]  “  Kortopi? That’s an unusual suggestion. Although he is a valued member, I do not believe that he would make for a good leader. Nor do I think he would enjoy such a position. “
[ABOUT: Uvogin]  “ His position is best as one of the lead fighters, not as a leader. He can be too reckless and focus on himself over the group. It has its pros, but also its cons. I would not desire him leading the spider. “
[ABOUT: Machi]  “  Machi would make for a good interim boss, but I am not certain about a permanent position as the head. I trust her hunches a great deal, and she is wise enough to listen to her own hunches most of the time. I trust her judgement that she would know whether to stay as the head or decide to vote someone else.”
[ABOUT: Nobunaga]  “ Much like Uvogin, his position is best as the group’s fighter. They are a team best paired together. That being said....I do think Nobunaga could handle the position if he chose. At least temporarily, but I do think he could do so long term. Pakunoda often chose to turn to him before anyone else other than myself.”
[ABOUT: Bonolenov]  “ I do not think he would do well in such a position. Like Kortopi, I believer they are best suited to their roles in the group. Being the leader is not a responsibility either would want, nor do I think it is best suited for his skill. He has not been placed in any situation that tests his leadership however, so this may be reevaluated in the future. “
[ABOUT: Shizuku]  “ I also do not think Shizuku would not make for a good leader. Her perceptiveness is at times sharper and faster than anyone else’s, and she does hold true to the spider rules with an unshaking faith. But the lapses in memory could be very dangerous for the head to possess. She is, however, a very important member nonetheless. “
[ABOUT: Hisoka]  “ No.”
[ABOUT: Kalluto]  “  I wonder how he enjoys being part of the Troupe? Some may have doubts. He is not yet ready. But if he stays, I do think he has potential to be a good leader if such a path is what he chooses. A next generation of the spider, perhaps? “
[ABOUT: Illumi]  “ Such an occurrence would never come to pass. We are all aware of this fact, aren’t we? He is no spider. But he makes for a good business partner.“
