The most outrageous thing, tho! The thing that drives me up the wall!! Is that his convoluted plans work like clockwork!!! If Sam wasn't an MVP that she is, then Technus' plan to take over the internet by playing a fucking videogame would have been successful. Combining Technus' technology and Skulker's mastery with weapons was a real pro gamer move, and they did almost beat Danny's ass in under 5 minutes. His plan to distract both Danny and Valerie by matchmaking them was stupid as fuck and yet it fucking worked!! How the fuck did it work.

His downfalls are literally 1) his arrogance, and 2) simple dumb bad luck. The reason why he and Skulker failed was because they both were pretentious fucks and were too prideful to cooperate with each other properly despite literally sharing a body. And if Danny and Valerie were a little less afraid of the other getting hurt, he'd have succeeded there, like, for real-real.

His failings more often than not are really just unlucky coincidencies. What a loser lmao.

Finally made some Lee!Link art!! I think it would be cute of Zelda was introducing him to some of her peers and just squeezing and poking him the whole time since Link is very quiet lol.

Delilah was the first person I thought of for this one! Plus, I've never drawn my sweet girl getting tickled! I need to make more art of her and her girlfriend, Hikora! They're 2 of my very first ocs along with Anna and Dylan! They were made around the same time!

Fox: The Spanish idiom hay gato escondido which means something is afoot but literally it's "there's a secret cat"

Dannie Karim: ya ˁasal which means honey in Arabic.

Silas Petersson: The petname pyret which means little creature, it's a Swedish term of endearment used for children, and his parents would call him that when he was a kid. They're the only ones allowed to call him that now pretty much lol.

Odel: She likes the petname älskling (can mean darling, my love, sweetie, etc) in Swedish.

Eliška Hasek: The Czech idiom pohnout kostrou which basically means to shake a leg but literally it's "to move one's skeleton"

Marigold Rosales: Alebrijes which are brightly colored Mexican folk art sculptures of fantastical (fantasy/mythical) creatures. The word itself sounds pretty and the figures make her feel more connected to her heritage.

Rosie Rosales-Maximoff: rățușcă which is duckling in Romanian.

i’m curious to see your analysis how spectra and gus are mira and ace foils

spectra and mira both start out as leaders in their respective organizations, while gus and ace are the first people they bring to their cause respectively. i made this gifset showing how ace and gus have similar scenes where they think of mira and spectra when they're in defeat.

ace and gus also join mira and spectra's causes after they're beaten by them, and are fully on board with their causes not because of the defeat but because of what mira and spectra show them after the battle. mira shows ace a talking bakugan and spectra shares with gus his vision for the world, and ultimately that's what wins them over. ace is also obviously very protective of, concerned for, and in love with mira similar to how gus is with spectra, albeit a bit less in the intensity and with a more critical point of view.

that's also where they diverge and make fantastic narrative foils - ultimately ace is much more critical of mira and more invested in the cause than gus is with spectra. this also probably because spectra's cause is so focused on him rather on other people. while both causes seek to change society, spectra's is much more egocentric and so gus goes where he goes. ace has more leeway and say on the cause because even though mira is the leader, it isn't wholly tied to her.

Crossover adjacent. Your idea for spirit Robin in your AU inspired a plot bunny in my mind. Since I won't write it, I thought I'd share it with you for fun.

Spectra tries to drain spirit Robin dry because he carries a lot of power in what he presents. She's also a sadist who preys on children's vulnerability if we go by canon. (It doesn't have to be Spectra, though. She came to me because of the DP crossover aspect that inspired me.)

But since Spirit Robin is a concept, she needs an access first.

She targets the origin, who started the legacy, because it was one of the only connections left to his parents: Dick Grayson.

idk if i'll use it either in CiM (maybe as a one-shot side story following the main thing) but thank you for sharing!

I honestly can see this side stepping Spirit!Robin entirely and Spectra just latching onto Dick because that poor boy definitely has a lot of repressed misery, despair and rage that Spectra would love to uncork and feast on (lol, i just realized that this makes Dick sound like an aged wine of misery and that's not exactly inaccurate XD).

That could really serve as a base for a different dc x dp fic entirely because Spectra could be looking to branch out from Amity for a while on account of getting her butt kicked by Danny, so she looks for a place steeped in misery for her to absorb and gain power from. And...well...Gotham definitely checks all those boxes. For maximum angst, this could be set after Jason's death when tensions between Dick and Bruce are at their highest.

Okay okay, hear me out! So Spectra joins the Battle Brawlers and needs to relearn how to not be evil. You don't just become a good person in like, a day. So Dan, being a human, immed thinks of SpongeBob and the episode with the tickle belt! He just so happens to be surrounded by incredibly smart people who could easily make one for him. He tricks Keith into wearing it and anytime Keith exhibits what Dan calls "Spectra Behavior" he hits the button and Keith is tickled silly!!
