Scarlet Devil Mansion Library, Touhou:

It's said to have books of all kind, in thousands of different languages, and about countless different things. Some of the books were written by the librarian herself, Patchouli Knowledge. The was also probably one of the first recognizable set pieces in the windows touhou games, being the fourth stage in it's introductory game.

The Lines Between, Dimension 20: Neverafter:

Contains all versions of every story ever written, told, or imagined - free existential horror with every checkout!

The Lines Between is a massive place between stories, and staffed by diverse and deific librarians who are just doing their best, such as Glossary, Key, Legend and Index. The library is physically made of books, scrolls, and parchment. Its areas include the Hall of Stories, the Canonade, the Tower of Tales, and perhaps most remarkably: a brilliant view of the Auroratory. It is a beautiful aurora borealis of voices, preserving auratory stories that aren't necessarily written down. It is possible to swim up and into the Auroratory.

So this is not necessarily a public library and it was abandoned for a long time (as far as we know) but the druids have it up again recently in game. It was built as part of Fort Maria centuries ago by the time of the game, and holds books from all those eras.

It is a gorgeous and expansive place with secret passageways, rare tomes, fluffy seats, old abandoned research, a lot of study areas, old relics, a moving bookcase to a portal cavern and even its very own library ghost!

It is, in my opinion, one of the most atmospheric places in the game. Even without sound on it is gorgeous and bring across its intention incredibly well, and with the sound on it is incredibly eerie. The music here is very limited and quiet, and the player’s footsteps echo through the library.

I feel like whatever you’re researching, you will find something on it in here. It feels like a place you could spend your whole life reading in, and still only have read a tiny fraction of the books there.

the citizens of jorvik (fictional star stable online island) keep all the witchcraft books in there and all their super secret and cool magic books, it was closed for years and it's very mysterious. one of the coolest characters (mrs. holdsworth) in the whole game hangs out there a lot, and it's home to a cute little capran named beatrix and she took her name from her favorite book. the only way you get in the library is by feeding her snacks and reading her books and she's also one of the coolest characters in the game (imo). also beatrix is friends with one of the horses in the game and she often is seen playing with the horse so :) OH and also there's a full heckin portal room in the lower floor!!! with a little pond and a portal that at some point the main characters (the "soul riders") get kicked in by the evil guys (the "dark riders") into this place called devil's gap (despite the name there's just one witch basically vibing in the gap potentially helping out the evil guys but we haven't figured that out yet). and it's gorgeous, if you're worrying about looks. the inside is all wooden and home-y and the portal room is also very pretty eye candy, it's very glow-y.

What Video Games I think Jigsaw and the Apprentices would play

Adam - Grand Theft Auto series. He regularly plays GTA Online with Amanda (he is better skilled at driving and Amanda is more skilled at shooting). Sometimes he convinces Lawrence to join. Adam switches between Michael and Franklin when in story mode the most. Adam likes using mods, ReShade and taking far too many screenshots.

Lawrence - Animal Crossing: New Horizons. After a tough day at work and knowing what John does, I doubt Lawrence is big into violent video games. Even then, video games aren't his thing. He only picked up AC:NH cause he likes the cozy vibes. Sometimes, when Diana misses him, he visits her island and they hang out together.

Amanda - DOOM Eternal and the Hitman series. This is the reason she's a sharp shooter in GTA. She loves DOOM and Hitman cause you get to shoot up bad guys to awesome music while bettering the world. Also, she loves doing wacky challenges with the Hitman games (kill everyone while wearing a clown suit also her only weapon is a giant tuna fish).

Lynn - Nintendogs and Cats for the 3DS. She got it originally for Corbette but became infatuated with it herself. It's part of the reason she really wants to get a pet. She got Amanda a 3DS and forced her to make a Mii so that when Lynn takes her virtual pet for a walk she sometimes stumbles into Amanda.

Peter - Hitman series, Metal Gear series and Detective Grimoire series. Peter has always loved media about detectives and stealth and shit. Where Amanda is silly with Hitman, Peter is dead serious. Metal Gear was the series he played as a kid, and Detective Grimoire was just a random flash game he found one day and became shocked to learn it had its own series of video games.

Mark - Party Hard, Dead by Daylight, GTA 5 and Outlast. Mark likes games where he plays as a killer, much to everyone else's concern. He plays mainly as Trevor in GTA 5. He mains Leatherface in Dead by Daylight. He mains them both cause they are both "berserk psychos with crazy weapons".

John - Pokemon, Animal Crossing: New Horizons and The Sims. John doesn't like violent video games. Period. In Pokemon, he usually sticks to Pokemon that look like cats and dogs. His favourite AC villager is Sprinkles, and he cries whenever one of his Sims dies.

Jill - Like Lawrence, she's not a big video game person. However, Corbette and Diana have both convinced her to play games with them. As their adoptive grandma, she obliges. She prefers stuff like Wii Sports, Wii Fit and Wii Sports Resort. Just cause it's nice, chill and casual.

BONUS: THE KIDS

Diana - Love Nikki, Animal Crossing: New Horizons and Untitled Goose Game. She likes being creative and causing chaos. Her favourite AC villager is Sable. She loves dressing Nikki up into fantasy princesses (but has also done like rockstar criminals). She likes Untitled Goose Game cause "look at the silly goose".

Corbette - Star Stable, Littlest Pet Shop (DS), Zoo Tycoon, Planet Zoo, Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Pokemon etc. She really loves animals. Ever since her brother's death, she collects plushies and it was what spawned her love of animals and creatures. She has also played Nintendogs and Cats (3DS) and Breath of the Wild.

i HAVE to know how you went about designing the heraldic devices on the flags in the sculpture chocodile just shared. Do the symbols have meaning?

Hell yeah, here comes the flood! This will be a bit of a rambly crash-course in my likely slightly inaccurate remembering of heraldic facts (and largely focused on English heraldic rules, as that is what most online resources focus on), so bear with me, haha.

Also going to try my hand at writing blazons for them, just for practice. :P

So, for me, the challenge in designing something like this is that I wanted to designs to be evocative of the character themself, but coat of arms are also passed down from the ancestor that was originally granted it through the family line, so they should also represent the character's family as a whole.

Sable, in chief an estoile gules, in fess an open hand argent between two estoiles of the second.

Hyden comes from an ambitious magical family, so I wanted something that alluded to both the concepts of "mystical" and "evil." Red and black is a bit of a cliché way to do it, but it's effective, no?

Hyden also has a star motif in his family; Hyden's first name, Arcturus, is the name of a star! Stars are also something that seem pretty mystical, right? I wanted to incorporate those in his coat of arms, so on they go.

I went through other charges at first, including a rabbit (self-explanatory) and mountains (Hyden's family comes from a mountainous region), but Chocodile liked the version with the hand best. The hand was meant to represent both the using of magic (often channeled through the hands), and due to the positioning of the stars, appears as though it is reaching up to grab the stars, relating to his (and his family's) ambitious and power-hungry nature.

I also had a version with white stars that followed the rule of tincture properly (short version of the rule of tincture: only white and gold can be put on top of any other color), but Chocodile preferred the version with red stars, so red stars it is! It works, too, because the star Arcturus, which Hyden and many of his ancestors were named after, is a red giant star.

Quarterly; first and fouth, Gules semy of flames Or, a sun Or charged with an eye palewise irised gules and pupiled Or; second and third, Argent semy of roses gules thorned and seeded Or.

No idea if THAT blazon is correct, this one's a bit funky.

Ambroys was a challenge because he comes from two important families, but he's a disappointment not much like either of his parents.

He also has the most complex coat of arms of the bunch because I wanted to have him quartering both his parents arms, since being the descendent of two powerful lineages is important to his character. When a nobleman was descended from two parents who were able to pass down coats of arms, the son could quarter them like this to preserve his mother's arms, which, due to rules of inheritance focusing on male lineage, would otherwise be lost.

The coat of arms featuring roses is the one belonging to his father. Admittedly, I cheated a bit here because I just really wanted roses on Ambroys' heraldic device since I associate them so strongly with him. BUT the area where his father's family comes from is a place known for farmland, natural beauty, and richness. Thus, I thought a field of flowers would suit that rather well.

The other coat of arms belongs to his mother. While she isn't a noble because she's not part of the mortal system, she does have a sigil that represents her (the sun and eye motif), and I figured anyone descended from a Celestial would be so important they'd have a right to arms. Thus, her sigil is incorporated into the coat of arms representing her, in addition to a field of flames and red. His mother was a somewhat warlike, conquering entity, thus a field of blood and the fire she would leave behind felt like an appropriate backdrop for her symbol.

Ordinarily, the father's arms would go in the dexter position (dexter is right on a shield, or our left), as dexter is a place of prominence over sinister (shield's left, our right). However, I decided to put his mother's arms there instead, as she was a Celestial while his father was a mortal, which I imagined would take prominence on the hierarchy scale over the fact that one's his mommy and one's his daddy.

Ermines, on a chief argent, three gouttes de sang.

I had already designed the coat of arms for Theo's family some time ago. Even before I furrified them, I associated his mother and her family with ermines. Ermine fur was used in the cloaks of royalty and nobility since way back, and they live in cold climates. Their association with the elite and coldness, as well as their deceptively vicious predation of animals much larger than they are (including... rats) made them well-suited to be a symbol of Theo's hoity-toity, standoffish, and frankly rather nasty family.

Thus I used ermine fur as the field of the coat of arms. Ermine fur is often used in heraldic devices, for the association with nobility I mentioned before! That's what those weird three-spot things are - a representation of the spots of color on an ermine-fur cloak.

But ermine fur is represented as white with black spots, like the real thing. There is, however, another version of ermine fur sometimes used in heraldry called "counter-ermine" or "ermines," which is black with white spots, like what's going on there!

I used counter-ermine partly just for aesthetics - I wanted to have the drops of blood, and to follow the rules of tincture, needed to put them on white (or gold, but yellow doesn't suit him), and the black fur contrasted with that better.

But there's also another reason. An old medieval myth is that ermines are very vain creatures, who would rather give themselves up to hunters than risk being injured and having blood dirty their pure white coats. A black ermine wouldn't have to worry about that, though. So the black ermine fur represents that they are just as haughty and vain as a regular ermine, but also willing to get their hands (or fur) dirty.

The drops of blood (gouttes de sang) represent both the North's history in that they earned their nobility through war and bloodshed, and also are just very fixated on their bloodline and the concept of family loyalty. The blood drops also tie into the myth about ermines that I mentioned before.

There is also YET MORE BLOOD in the full achievement (a coat of arms that also shows all the other nonsense I labeled here) I designed for them, which incorporates ermines as supporters, but also a heraldic pelican as the crest. The medieval myth behind pelicans was that the mothers would pierce their own skin to feed their offspring their own blood. Very goth, and also tying into family loyalty yet again. You might notice that the motto of the Norths involves blood, again. There's a theme going on here, is what I'm saying.

(also the Latin is wrong in the motto, I seem to mess up the grammar in a new way each time I attempt it, BUT DISREGARD THAT)

I'd like to design full achievements for Hyden and Ambroys as well, some day! But I think that's enough of my babbling for now.

I've loved your stories for ages and I really hope things get better for you soon ❤️ Not picky about a monster type, but I do love vampires orcs and aliens! Male pref but I do love your girls! I'm genderqueer, slightly chubby, gothy/grungy and love creepy/morbid things, but also I loove cute things! I'm very shy and am a selective mute, but I'm very witty and sweet once I'm comfortable enough to talk (I use TTS in the meantime when I have to say something.) Alien- Delfian

7ft tall

This tall and imposing figure is from the Delfy system, known for its colorful solar system and connected planets. Upon first glance, he is colorless, but he shows colors like a mood ring, and glows at night. He is almost see through like a jellyfish, though his flesh and limbs are very hard, there is a softness to his chest and belly, which he keeps protected by special clothing. As stated before, delfians are tall, but they are also slim and willowy, possessing long limbs that have a twisted, vein like appearance, forming into digits that can spread into individual tentacles, or form three strong fingers.

As a Delfian, his kind are known for their calming, soothing presence and telekinetic abilities. Bellcadir came to earth has part of a student exchange system while in school, but ended up feeling a connection to the planet and decided to stay.

He works in various therapy fields,mostly physical therapy, including massage, yoga, and rehab. He bounces around, enjoying all that work, but unable to feel he can settle with just one. He has a deep desire to help everyone.

Bellcadir enjoys baked goods, finding they are close to what is served back in his home system. Anything that has fresh fruit in it is his favorite. He enjoys peace and quiet, but he loves being in multiple online servers and making friends online. He enjoys texting with people as sometimes human voices can be grating to his sensitive ears. He’s very active in several online communities, especially some baking groups, a few writers’ groups, and one for Star dew Valley, which he will admit he’s not great at but loves.

Hi! I would like a blind date for my oc Sable a hyper femme anthro unicorn. 5'10 with a fat hourglass figure, hot pink hair, blue eyes, and decoden manicured nails. She can be kind of annoying because she's a little empty headed but she's enthusiastic when the vibe is right. She goes by feeling and body language more than intellect. Her hobbies are collecting soft pastel sweaters, drinking hot drinks in cute oversized mugs, reading fanfiction, flirting and watching Hallmark movies. She likes carnivals and fairs, hyper pop and EDM, and supernatural romance novels. Sable likes to tease but it's never mean, so she prefers to be around confident people who can take a good-natured joke. All food is good food to Sable and she will steal a bite from your meal. She remembers off-hand facts about her friend so she can plan random celebrations or make up reasons to give gifts.

Ari was extremely nervous. Luckily, his friends had set up this group date situation, but still, the girl he really liked was going to be coming. He fidgeted around, stuffing his hands into the pockets of his leather jacket. “Calm down, Ari, don’t look so freaked out. You’ll freak her out.” The dragonborn went into the bathroom to double check himself. He’d talent he extra time to polish his horns and dark blue scales to make himself look good. He stepped bac, took a good breath and smiled at himself. Supposedly that worked to trick your brain. But Ari still felt the same amount of nervous.

Sable was so cute and pretty. And while some of his friends would say she was shallow or flighty, Ari felt that wasn’t fair to say. He had heard some of her other friends talk very sweetly about her. Besides, he liked listening to her talk, even if it was something silly. She always looked so well put together, and she always smelled amazing.

“Ari are you ready?”

“Yeah, coming out.” Ari snapped out of his thoughts and he turned to leave the bathroom. He opened the door, and heard more voices than from when he went in. As he came around the hallway something bright pink ran into him full force.

“Oops!” A sweet voice gasped.

Ari gripped the wall to keep them both from toppling over. The pink object braced as well, pushing off of Ari’s chest. She looked up at him and Ari tensed, his throat even tightened, and he held his breath.

Sable smiled up at him, her hair was so beautifully done in soft waves, her lashes were large and fanned out, her nails were super cute and done pink with pearls, bows, and glitter little jewels.

“Excuse me,” she giggled. She patted Ari’s chest. “Didn’t mean to tackle you like that. Didn’t break anything did I?”

Ari shook his head, slowly taking a breath and standing up right. “I don’t think do. You can try again if you want.”

Sable’s eyes sparkled and she giggled. “You’re silly!” She beamed up at Ari and his heart melted. Her perfume smelled sweet, like soft roses and strawberries.

“It’s always the cute girls who are much stronger than they look,” Ari said offhandedly, but realized what he did say.

Sable’s smile brightened up. “Oh, so your wise to us, are you?” She leaned in close to him again to whisper. “I’ll have to keep my eye on you tonight, just so you don’t give away any of my secrets.”

“I wouldn’t-” Ari said breathlessly.

Sable winked. “I gotta make sure. You don’t mind right?”

Ari swallowed. “I suppose. As long as you promise not to hurt me.”

“Oh, don’t worry. I’m not into that, per se.”

I'm a 25 infp male attracted to men 5'10. Love to talk and learn about other people. (Like to gossip but not in the slandering spreading rumors kind of way) Very imaginative, very sarcastic, very analytical, a bit of an ends justify the means type personality

Friendly and sociable but reserved, I don't like opening up to people ,massive trust issues. I always try to have a neutral viewpoint on things and consider both sides to come to the best conclusion. I love to write, cook, watch movies and spend time with loved ones.

I love night time (night drives, night walks, etc) I really like a guy that can make me laugh, who is kind, romantic, but with a bit of a wicked sense of humor to match my own. I really like to be taken care of and to take care of my partner.

Benny is a local hair stylist and beautician who works in a salon down the block. He makes a big deal out of giving customers their dream hair style, and he’s very popular with older women and high school students. He gives the best hugs, since his arms are so big and his belly is slightly soft. He’s very particular with his own hygiene regimen, so his skin is always so soft and he smells amazing. He says it’s important for work, but he’s always done it. Because of his clientele he hears lots of stories and gossip, which makes him the epicenter of chat within the salon as well as his beloved cafe across the street.

Benny is a great storyteller too. He knows how to gather a crowd and pull them in, happy to talk to anybody. But really, Benny is easily embarrassed, but hides it well. He much prefers his days off where he gets to stay home in just pajama pants and fuzzy slippers. His feet get cold easily, and anything that makes them warm pleases him. He loves coffee and tea, and has surprisingly fancy equipment for it in his place. He loves showing it off to people, making them complicated drink just to make them smile.

While he was in school for becoming a beautician and stylist, he worked in his family’s mortuary. His uncle had a dark sense of humor that rubbed off on him, but it’s a taste he rarely gets to sling around in the salon. But occasionally when he’s relaxed enough with someone he lets it fly.

Benny’s ability to be easily embarrassed has left him worried about dating. But he dreams of having a partner he can spoil and take care of, someone he can cuddle and spend his quiet days together without much worry of having to keep up the chat or performance he does at the salon. He wants to figur eout their favorite drink and make it for them when they look down or happy.

Otherkin technically, I suppose; theriomythic in specific.

I used to believe I was only a polymorph for a long time. Recently I've whittled away even more at the mystery of myself with a friend's (very useful!) help (their URL is @dawnwyrm) and discovered I can still change forms, it's just that I'm a shapeshifting eastern dragon instead of a wobbly and self-uncertain polymorph. Not hating upon polymorphs at all! It just was the closest fitting thing for a time...but ultimately wasn't the case.

☀️: What was your awakening like? When was it?

I've always felt Other and Just Not Human Enough all my childhood. I learned about the concept of "otherkin" as a teen here on Tumblr during the Superwholockvengers, and Rise Of the Tangled Dragons type stuff heydays. I initially turned my nose up at it, wary of it since so many others seemed to mock it viciously. But the idea stuck with me stubbornly, and I went through numerous phases of latching onto fave characters that were not me in the end. Bluestar from Warrior Cats, Star Catcher from MLP gen3, then I tried being fictherian and therian, in the identities of a sable working line GSD and a meowth + persian pokemon...these did not stick either.

🤝: When did you first hear about the kin community?

Like I said, I was a wee widdle teeny-bopper. 14-16?

💪: Do you experience phantom limbs?

Yes.

💐: Do you experience any other shifts?

Moving ears and antlers.

💙: What’s your favorite shift you get? Why?

Mobile tails, moving ears, and antlers on my head.

🚫: What’s your least favorite shift? Why?

Hm...I don't really have a "least favorite," I think?

It's kinda always, consistently happening? Pretty much?

💫: Do you have shift triggers, or do they happen randomly?

Mostly randomly, but sometimes I see an art piece or a video that triggers it.

I have noema/noemata, more like, since I am not precisely a past-lifer. Not spiritual. More like a parallel life believer + a psychological alterhuman? I can understand a multiverse type thing.

💚: What’s your favorite thing about your kintype? (The species, creature, etc)

The power! I guess. The ability to change my body on a whim and back, too. The power thing is why I believe I have a psychological kintype, because I've been so powerless and hurt for much of my life. This part of me developed exactly in response to that helplessness. And I am okay with that. It helps me a lot.

🌀: Do you think kins are spiritual or psychological in nature?

It depends on the experiences of the individual!

🗣: Does anyone know you are otherkin? Friends, family, etc? If so, how did you tell them?

Nobody offline in my life knows about me, nor do they probably have the ability to understand the concept.

👯‍♂️: Do you have any friends who are also kin?

I have a ton of altH friends who are only online.

Not really. Not good at it.

💤: Do you get kin dreams?

Sorta. I get a lot of dreams where I fly like an eastern dragon should, usually as a method of getting away from monsters or captors in the dream.

🐯: Do you wish you were your kintype? Why or why not?

Yes. Very much so. It would be amazing. And I could always just shapeshift back into my human body whenever I wanted to!

🧝‍♀️: Do you own any gear? If so, what items do you have and do you like to wear them?

I do not own any gear yet.

👀: Give a controversial opinion/your stance on some type of discourse.

Huh. I dunno....ah. Factkin are uncomfortable for me if they identify with people still alive. Heck, identifying with real people from history is still kinda...off to me. But I respect them anyhow because, well, what can I do about it? It's how they see themselves, and so long as they are not hurting anyone, I don't have much room to speak.

🏔: What makes you feel closer to your kintype(s)?

Rivers, beaches, flying in the clouds (I've only been on a plane...3 times in my life, I think?).

✨: What are some things that validate you?

I uh...have never really been validated, I think? Sad to say. Though I did have a great dream a couple of months ago featuring my dead grandma and she told me to get an eastern dragon-y tattoo. Now I know why! Thanks Grammy!
