Pretty sure he’s male, since he’s got the little claspers around his back end. So yeah! Don’t know what he’s doing around in this cold weather, but I found him in my room and set him up with some good fruit and veggies.

Brown marmorated stink bugs love to come inside our houses in the fall and winter to get out of the cold, so it’s not surprise at all he showed up in your room. In fact I’m surprised you only found one. Glad he’s enjoying his snacks, though!

Surprise! Big long flat friend. Very nice and leggy, 10/10 armor. This sweet precious baby looks like Rudiloria trimaculata :)

@jabbers-wild-world submitted: ;; I found this tiny friend today! I know it’s some species of spittlebug, but beyond that I’m not sure. Upstate NY, as usual, and I hope I’m not bothering you to ask.

It would be wild if I were bothered by the hundreds of submissions I get but just kept taking them anyway lol. It's not a bother at all. Looks like a spittle bug in the genus Clastoptera. Probably an alder spittlebug, but there are a couple others that look veeery similar.

@jabbers-wild-world submitted: ;; No IDs necessary this time! Just wanted to show you this batch of amazing friends! Though.. I am a little skeptical about the bristletail there. I leave them alone, of course, but I don’t really want them in my bed either, you know? So that one’s maybe more of a.. neutral acquaintance than a friend, but still not a bad bug. Bad bugs don’t exist, and anyone can fight me on that.

Anyway, feel free to correct me if I’m wrong, but I do believe what I have here is:

A male wolf spider (lookit those punchy pedis!)

A bristletail in the order Archaeognatha

Amber snail snack time! (That one’s Goober!)

Also an amber snail (this time it’s Barlow!)

A spotted orbweaver (gender unknown but seems to be a lovely lady)

Also I’m in the middle of a move and have uncovered some sort of funnel weaver, possibly a grass funnel weaver, but I haven’t been able to get any good pictures of him/her/them. Very shy babies, those funnel weavers.

Lol yes all bugs are nice but I don't usually want them in my bed either. The first fellow is actually a grass spider in Agelenidae, not a wolf! Wolf spiders won't have the long spinnerets you see sticking off the butt. But definitely a male with pedipalps like those. The others look right though! The last spider does indeed look like a lady. Funnel weavers are adorable but you're right, they're very shy! I have some living on my balcony that always shoot back inside their funnel when I try to eyeball them. Thanks for sharing all these lovely friends!

Gave her a little nectar pick-me-up from a flower nearby and let her go once she’d warmed up. I named her Belladonna (because she is both beautiful and can hurt me since I do have a mild allergy to be stings)

Yes, she’s a honey bee. And I love her deeply! Glad you offered her nectar rather than sugar water. Be careful about getting stung, the more times you’re stung the worse your reaction can get.

It is indeed a wolf! Looks like a rustic wolf, Trochosa ruricola. I’d need a better look at the pedipalps to say whether it’s male or female, though.
