1. Ryuji has played Sasuke since 2015. He, along with Ito Yui (Haruno Sakura) and Kimisawa Yuki (Hatake Kakashi), are the members in the current cast who have been with the "Live Spectacle NARUTO" (Narusute) since the beginning.  

2. Ryuji's audition for Narusute was nine hours long.

3. Before auditions, Ryuji asked Matsuoka Koudai (Uzumaki Naruto) to teach him acrobatics (likely because Koudai had done acrobatics during "Musical The Prince of Tennis" (Tenimyu), but neither one of them knew that they were auditioning for the same production until they met at the Narusute auditions.

4. Ryuji (Uchiha Sasuke), Koudai (Uzumaki Naruto) and Kimi-chan (Hatake Kakashi) were in Tenimyu in 2013/2014. Then, they were cast in Narusute as Team 7.

5. Ryuji (Uchiha Sasuke) was inspired to enter the entertainment world by Suga Kenta (Gaara).

6. During the final round of Narusute auditions, Ryuji, Kenta and an unnamed actor competed for the roles of Sasuke and Gaara. Both Ryuji and Kenta read for both Sasuke and Gaara.

7. In an interview during the "Live Spectacle NARUTO (Narusute) ~Uzumaki Naruto Monogatari~" (2021), Ryuji said that Uchiha Sasuke has become something like "his other self". He also said that he and Sasuke have a similar personality, and that he can empathise with Sasuke.

10. When Nakao Masaki (Uzumaki Naruto) joined the cast, Ryuji was the only one of Team 7 who knew Nakao-kun before Narusute. He and Nakao-kun have known each other for longer than even Ryuji and Kimi-chan (Hatake Kakashi).

11. Ryuji and Kitazono Ryo (Namikaze Minato) are close friends who have known each other since 2015. According to Ryo, "Ryuji is the person I’m [he] closest to, so I think [it would be nice] if we [they] are able to remain in such a relationship." Ryo has also said this:

12. When Narusute transitioned into a new phase with Nakao-kun taking over the role of Uzumaki Naruto and responsibility of new company leader from Koudai, Ryuji (Uchiha Sasuke) supported him by helping him to pull the company along.

Ryuji was also featured in major promotions with Nakao-kun (Uzumaki Naruto) and Ryo (Namikaze Minato) for the "Live Spectacle NARUTO (Narusute) ~Uzumaki Naruto Monogatari~" (2021).

In the "Live Spectacle NARUTO (Narusute) ~Ninkai Taisen, Kaisen~" (2022), Ryuji (Uchiha Sasuke) was given the honour of leading the final bow alongside Nakao-kun.

When talking about Ryuji in the "Live Spectacle NARUTO (Narusute) ~Ninkai Taisen, Kaisen~" (2022), Naya Takeru (Gaara) called Ryuji (Uchiha Sasuke) the "King of Narusute" and said, "It is thanks to Ryuji and the others from the first performance that it [the production has connected to the current performance, and I am able to meet with it."

Naya-kun also referred to Uchiha Sasuke (Ryuji) as "the other main character who is a pair with Naruto".

NOTE: Others from the first Narusute are Yui (Haruno Sakura) and Kimi-chan (Hatake Kakashi).

14. In an interview during the "Live Spectacle NARUTO ~Uzumaki Naruto Monogatari~" (2021), Kodama Akiko (director for Narusute) talked about how, no matter how tough the action stunts were and how much he struggled with them, Ryuji (Uchiha Sasuke) would never complain.

She added that, if she was an actor, she might have said no to all these things that have nothing to do with acting, like the aerial performance that Ryuji (Uchiha Sasuke) had to do in the "Live Spectacle NARUTO" (Narusute) 2015/2016. But, Ryuji never said no.

To quote Kodama-san, "It's likely because he thinks that it [the stunts] are necessary for the production, necessary in expressing the character of (Uchiha) Sasuke, necessary in expressing what it's like to be a ninja."

15. The stunts in the "Live Spectacle NARUTO" (Narusute) are so difficult that Ryuji (Uchiha Sasuke) has texted his parents to apologise if he dies doing them.

so apparently it’s a two-part movie. no season 5 confirmed. funny cus someone said people(translators) got it initially wrong not just because of the confusing announcement but because no one would believe they could compress the remaining chapters in 2 movies. which became everyone’s concern then because how would they do that without cutting out some substantial stuff... unless it’s 3 hours each at least AND I WOULD WATCH THE HELL OUT OF IT. im begging dont take out my slow-mos, full backstory and internal monologue.. and please not a panel slideshow (idt they’d do that).

also, another news (THAT GOT ME SO EMOTIONAL) is there is another production of a haikyuu stage play and SUGA KENTA WILL BE DIRECTING IT. AS IN THE 1ST GEN HINATA SHOYO STAGE ACTOR. he loves this work so much and he always comes back to it if that doesn’t make your heart stir idk what will !!!

Butai Yowamushi Pedal The Day 1

Heyyy so while I have lived in Japan since 2018, I have not seen a single pedasute live! Until today. I didn't even realize that since the last one (The Cadence), they started over all the way from the beginning, so naturally Day 1 is the one covering the first day of the Interhigh. It was so nostalgic seeing this, since very little has changed in how they do the play. Just a whole new cast! And it's a pretty strong cast, literally and figuratively. I mean, especially Ruito, who plays Izumida, is just perfect - I love the previous one! - but he can actually wiggle his Andy and Frank, and also the guy who plays Maki-chan is amazingly well-cast. Tall and lanky, especially compared to all the others. The new Naruko and Imaizumi seem great, Imaizumi's got such a cute face but he looks strong. Manami was on point too, and I'm enjoying Rita as Arakita and Akira as Shinkai, though I'm really looking forward to see more of Shinkai especially as a former Shinkai stan. I'm curious how far they'll go with this. I don't think the whole theater was full but they did do pretty well, and hopefully they can continue and eventually go on along with the manga. It's quite interesting that Kujirai (who played Teshima) and Kawaharada (Izumida) were directing and coaching the play, while Suga Kenta (the original Hinata) is directing a new Haikyuu!! play (which I will also see this month).

Random Haikyuu headcanons because I've finished my third read through and I'm suffering (mostly Fukurodani because I say so). If I have others, I'll just add them here.

-Sarukui Nagito has a huge celebrity crush on Washio and all the older Fukurodani members EXCEPT for his cousin. He has a crush on Onaga and Anahori too, but he's completely unimpressed with Saru. Komi and Konoha always laugh their ass off whenever he mentions it.

-After the timeskip coach Yamiji sometimes asks Konoha to help at practice because he's the closest ex member that still plays, and he can teach the kids basically everything. Sometimes he brings his team along as well.

-Komi becomes to Udai's volleyball manga what Suga Kenta is for Haikyuu.

-Everything Daisho and Kuroo know about provoking, they've learnt from their sisters.

-Bokuto and Iwaizumi are the kind of persons everyone at some point has had a crush on, whether they admit it or not.

-When the Sendai Frogs play, Futakuchi goes to watch just to make fun of Kogane's shitty sets (which aren't as shitty anymore, but he likes to think they are).

-In his third year, everyone is scared shitless of Yahaba, the rookies but also the other second and third years. Watari is the only one that manages to have a normal conversation with him without running away.

-Ennoshita and Yamaguchi 100% learned how to act as good captains from Daichi, meaning they're nice and all, but when they get angry you better run the fuck away.

-Every time MSBY and EJP play against each other, Osamu and Akaashi (or whoever from Inarizaki and Fukurodani is present) have a field trip making fun of their old teammates.

-At some point MatsuHana met SaruKono and Suna like in that official final art, and they became the greatest gossips of Japan and Argentina.

-The first time Kuroo appeared in one of Kenma's streamings as a JVA member, the chat went crazy, one half because of volleyball, the other half because what is the hot guy in a suit doing here??

-Nobody knows when and how Daisho and Mika break up and get back together every time. Not the Nohebi guys, not their families, nobody. Kuroo knew that one time because Mika told him (yes, they do have each other's number. Yes, he also has Daisho's, but they only text to insult each other).

-Shirabu and Hirugami have probably met at some point, may it be in university or at an Adlers game. If they did, they're first interaction was to stare at each other for one solid minute before finally talking.

hello! what did Sato Ryuji mean when he said that a character he had the hardest time shaking off was Uchiha Sasuke?

Thank you very much for the Ask! It was quite the rollercoaster of emotions for me looking back at how much of himself Ryuji has given to the character of Sasuke over the years ♥

A role he won through a long and hard audition process (9 hours), Sato Ryuji considers Uchiha Sasuke to be one of the milestone characters that has played an important part in who he is today, something which he talked at length about as recently as the stage pamphlet for the "Live Spectacle NARUTO ~Ninkai Taisen, Kaisen~" (2022). 

As of this post, he has given 7 years of his life to playing Sasuke (he is one of the starting cast members who has been in the franchise since 2015), and will have played Sasuke for 8 years by 2023 with his participation confirmed for the final stage play in the "Live Spectacle NARUTO".

In the documentary-style show "Sato Ryuji 'Ryu'", Ryuji also talked about having a similar personality with Sasuke and being able to empathise with Sasuke, commenting on how Sasuke has become something like "his other self". In fact, he is so comfortable playing Sasuke that he can switch to being Sasuke with a snap of his fingers.

But, this also means that it is easy for the character of Sasuke to bleed into his personal life.

In the past, Sato Ryuji has talked about how the characters he played influenced his emotions even in his personal life, so he would generally be cheerier if he played a brighter character or moodier if he played a darker character.

With Sasuke being one of Ryuji's darkest characters, having a hatred, anger and sadness that is deeper than any other character he's played, this had a huge influence on Ryuji, especially during the times when he had difficulty switching the character "off" even when he wasn't acting.

In an interview for the "Live Spectacle NARUTO ~Uzumaki Naruto Monogatari~", when he was asked about how Sasuke's pain affected him, Ryuji said this:

"Speaking of pain, the separation from Team Seven and the Hidden Leaf Village in first production was the hardest on me emotionally and the most painful. It was the most painful in terms of the contents [of the story], and at the time, I was also bad at switching off and on when I was in the heat of my emotions, and it bled even into my private life, [so] my mental health wasn't very good (laughs). It was a period in my life where it was [really] painful for me, physically and mentally."

While he has become better at mentally switching "off", even now, Ryuji continues to push himself to the physical limit when he performs as Sasuke in the "Live Spectacle NARUTO". Ryuji was fully prepared for the risk of death when he performed in the "Live Spectacle NARUTO" for the first time in 2015/2016 with Suga Kenta (who plays Gaara) commenting on how he felt like Ryuji had the most to do during the stage play.

In recent times, the "Live Spectacle NARUTO ~Ninkai Taisen, Kaisen~" came right after Ryuji had sustained an injury during the action and stunt-heavy "'Jujutsu Kaisen' The Stage" due to stress and fatigue where he was sent to the hospital for treatment with Kimisawa Yuki (who plays Hatake Kakashi) and Rachi Shinji (who plays Uchiha Itachi) expressing their worry for him publicly on their Twitter accounts.

In conclusion, when Ryuji said that the character he had the hardest time shaking off was Sasuke, he was referring to how the character of Sasuke would bleed into his personal life and how he had a hard time switching the character "off". Looking at his relationship with Sasuke, we can see how Sasuke has influenced his life over the years that Ryuji has played him.

To be honest though, my favorite of the OP/EDs they did for Naruto isn't one of the more popular ones. But I've had a soft spot for it for a solid decade now, and it's still one of my favorite anime OPs

Also I'm proud to say I watched the entire original Naruto anime- including all the filler arcs :D
