it eventually turned out that the man she loved was not the man she loved at all. after his true colors finally came to light two years into their marriage, arguments erupted like volcanoes, some even going as far as strikes being thrown. arya eventually resorted to cutting most of her hair off so her husband wouldn’t be able to violently grab it and pull her back in a fight. all the fighting, the belittling, the intimidation tactics… arya was bound to snap one day. she had no other choice but to fight back. it was that or she would be killed by his hands.

and it was on that fateful night when another argument was caused from seemingly nothing. and it was time arya put an end to it once and for all.

she was quick to run to their shared bedroom in the house they tragically still lived in, all in the midst of their fighting. despite the chase, her husband was slower than she was due to the head start - and before he could scream at her again, he was met with his wife in tears and holding a gun directly between his eyes before the sound of a gun firing off echoed through the house. the cruelty of her husband finally ended… but at what cost? how she managed to fool the authorities into thinking he took his own life was beyond her… but by the time they realize he was murdered, arya had already vanished without a trace, ready to start over and break the shackles of those she once walked in the shoes of.

the only good thing that came out of that tumultuous point in her life was a child. her precious daughter; coraline, one of the few notes in arya's life that kept her tethered to reality. anything arya ever did, from taking the lives of the corrupt, to sharing her body with strangers for money or intel... she did it to make sure her precious treasure would live a better life than she ever did.

because who knows where arya would be today if it weren't for that precious little light in the darkness of a mother's world.
