Botanical headcannons

belladonna: how does your muse respond to silence? do they take comfort in soundlessness, or seek to fill the void with noise?

Nunnally definitely enjoys silence and solitude. Crowds, people, voices overwhelm her, and she usually hides inside her own world to avoid them. She spent most of her life alone, sometimes for days and weeks not having anyone to have a decent conversation with. So, she had learnt how to be happy just with herself. She does not know how to create bonds, does not understand words and emotions easily, especially in the human realm she is now living in, so silence gives her safety and consolation. While noise usually means danger.

begonia: how cautious is your muse? are they prone to noticing red flags? or paranoid to the point of untrusting most everyone?why or why not?

Nunnally attempts to be cautious, but often fails as she simply does not understand the world she is living in. She is unattached to it in a sense. So, she would usually be over-cautions about things that are in general safe or neutral; about what she says, how she speaks, what she wears and so on. It's like caring about social distinctions. She was mainly brought up according to (adjusted) Victorian standards that she attempts to apply in modern word.

As for people, she thinks she is cautious. She does not trust anyone; she is really afraid that she will hurt a person if she comes too close to them. Or that she will be hurt by them. Deep inside, Nunnally is careful and reserved, and ready to run away at any time. But she strives for affection, love, friendship, basically any kind of normal bonds. Therefore, she often trusts or perhaps engages in any relation very quickly. It is partially superficial, but she just takes whatever is given to her and considers it true and genuine. But she is also very quick to back off, to withdraw when facing even a small difficulty or misunderstanding. Nunnally immediately overthinks such small things and makes something huge out of it.

And no, Nunnally does not see any red flags. I would say it is completely opposite: red flags attract her. She takes them at the face value. And later gets hurt because of that.

bay tree: does your muse seek glory & accolades, or do they favour a simpler, more personal life?

None of the above really. What she really wants is to have the family, but the family she strives for is not simple. And she is well aware that what counts for her father is power and knowledge, or knowledge and power. Nunnally really hopes to contribute -- as much as she can -- to achieving her father's goals. She believes that if she is useful, she could stay by his side. Close to him. Always and forever.

If she finds another love, or another goal, then it would much depend who that other person is, and how healthy the relation would become. But given that she is attracted by the red flags… Nunnally just wants to care and be cared for, or love and be loved, but in a sense she does not fully understand what her true wishes are.

“Contrary to what others think of my body, I personally don’t see why they like it.” She laughs a little. “They say that they see my eyes, my hair, and my… figure first but all I see is my stomach. I hate how I’m taller than most women here. I hate how I’m the biggest one here and I just wish I wasn’t built like my mom… But I do like my hair.”

“Oh easy! Kuro and Aunt Jacqie!” She smiles. “They’re all the family I have left. When my mom and dad were killed, the three of us were lost. We only had each other and we knew how much this hurt and we all hurt together. We tried to make sure we’re all okay ever since they left.”
