Bangtan Christmas drabble 7 - read the rest here.
Min Yoongi only cares about three things. The thrill of drifting, his friends, and cars, in that order. Somehow, you've got under his skin. Part of the Drift Kings AU.
Pairing: Yoongi x f! reader
Rating: 18+
Genre: Street racer/mechanic! Yoongi, smut
Word count: 3.2k
Warnings: Sex, swearing
Min Yoongi knows loneliness. He knows the unrelenting ache of it, the way it permeates every aspect of one’s psyche.
He knows what it feels like to look for a connection that isn’t there.
When he was ten his father took him into work for the first time, and it was then, amongst the smells of engine oil and new paint and pinewood air freshener, that Yoongi discovered his first true love.
He pored over engine diagrams, admired the easy simplicity of every tool falling into its destined purpose, got used to his clothes being stained from tuning up cars all day long.
He’d loved every minute of it, and the truth is, he still does.
Then his cousin Yijin had given him a lift down Mount Samo one day, and 14 year old Yoongi had learned that there was more than one way to soar.
He learned to drive navigating the hairpin bends of Mount Samo, and although he’s perfected the art of drifting up and down it, could do it blindfolded a hundred times over, the thrill of it has never really faded.
He’s picked up a collection of friends over the years, all of whom love the adrenaline of street racing – not knowing what’s round the corner, trusting your own reflexes and instincts to save you when you can barely see for the blood rushing in your veins.
Kim Seokjin, his oldest and closest friend, the chaebol prince who can put together a Supra’s turbo-2JZ engine almost as quickly as Yoongi himself. His sister, a corporate princess who makes Yoongi’s heart soften and the opposite happen to his cock. They’re the two people Yoongi would do anything for, not that he’d ever tell them that.
Jung Hoseok, the gifted mechanic with a heart of gold and the sunniest demeanour Yoongi’s ever been able to tolerate, creature of the night that he is.
Jeon Jungkook, the baby fuckboi of the group, a man with the looks of a god and the persona of a baby deer. Yoongi finds it hard to be anything but endeared by his earnest good nature and anything but amused by his swaggering. Maybe one day the kid will grow into the bad man he so badly wants to be, but Yoongi hopes not. He’s great the way he is.
It’s been a while since Yoongi felt lonely, in fact his life’s pretty good right about now.
And at this exact moment? It’s perfect.
Yoongi’s senses are on overdrive as he swings into a hairpin bend on Mount Samo, tires gripping tarmac sideways. His foot taps the throttle, his hand on the handbrake just in case but he doesn’t need it, he knows the terrain so well his body’s reacting on instinct.
Sideways on he can see Seokjin to his right, composed, barely breaking a sweat as his rear wheels scrape the very edge of the path, inches from the steep drop.
Yoongi catches sight of himself in his own rearview mirror, teeth bared in a feral grin as he shoots out onto the final stretch, so fast there’s nothing to see but black.
He’d normally stop, celebrate his win with a cigarette, but he’s got somewhere to be tonight.
Behind him now, Seokjin’s headlamps flicker in lieu of a goodbye.
Yoongi depresses the horn, a sharp short blast, and then he’s gone.
***
Kang Yubin’s been supplying Yoongi’s father’s garage for years, and Yoongi’s been going to him for car parts since before he knew a spark plug from a catalytic converter.
The Kang warehouse has an unassuming front in an industrial estate on the outskirts of Seoul. Yoongi parks outside the familiar glass door, can see the dim lighting filtering through the tinted glass as he approaches.
He pushes open the door, stops, nonplussed.
Instead of Kang Yubin’s steel-rimmed glasses and grey hair, he’s greeted by you.
Half your face is obscured by a black face mask, your hair up under a baseball cap, but you’re definitely not who he expected to see.
He blinks.
Your eyebrows rise.
‘Are you lost?’ you inquire, an edge to your voice that pulls him out of his surprised reaction and reminds him why he’s here.
‘I was expecting Mr Kang,’ Yoongi replies.
Coming closer to the counter he picks up on a guardedness to your posture, a weariness that you don’t bother to hide.
‘I’m his granddaughter,’ you say, brief. ‘I’m guessing you didn’t just come here to stare at me, what do you want?’
‘Spark plugs – I have a —’ Yoongi breaks off as you get up.
‘I know who you are, and I know what car you drive. Stay here and I’ll get you your stuff.’
You disappear behind a door, return in minutes with a cardboard box.
You pull a box-cutter out of a desk drawer, slit the masking tape, pull the flaps up.
‘Feel free to take a look,’ you say, looking at him.
It doesn’t take long for Yoongi to verify that they’re what he needs.
‘How do you know who I am?’ he asks, as he pays.
There’s a faint spark in your eyes, a flicker so quick he wonders if he’s mis-read it.
‘My grandfather said you were due around this time.’
You nudge your shoulder vaguely in the direction of the screen to your left, a view from the camera overlooking the front of the warehouse. ‘Not many people drive a car like that.’
You take his money, nudge the box in his direction.
‘Pleasure doing business, Min Yoongi. I’ll give my grandfather your regards.’
You’re already looking back down at your phone like you’ve dismissed him.
Yoongi picks up the box, casts another glance at you, and leaves.
He’s still thinking about you when he reaches home.
***
Yoongi’s concentrating so hard on the engine in front of him that he barely hears Seokjin approach.
‘Dinner?’ asks Seokjin, eyes flicking over the V configuration of the 8 chrome cylinders in the custom Nissan with interest.
Yoongi leans back, massages the crick in his neck from leaning over.
‘Yeah. Quick though, the client wants a rush on this.’
They exchange a look.
‘More money than sense,’ Seokjin says, critical.
‘Pays the bills,’ Yoongi counters.
They have similar opinions about rich clients who want their supercars tuned up. It’s rare that a client’s got the ability to do justice to the horsepower under the bonnet of the flashy exteriors.
Yoongi shrugs, goes to wash his hands.
‘Is your sister coming?’ he asks.
Seokjin’s still admiring the engine. ‘Not tonight. Jimin’s in town,’ he says. ‘There’s a race later, if you change your mind. I’m meeting Jungkook after dinner.’
‘Is he still sulking over Mijin?’ Yoongi asks, falling into step beside Seokjin.
There’s no need to confirm where they’re going, they always stop at a tiny restaurant run by an elderly woman who seems utterly unimpressed by their good manners but makes the best broth in town.
Seokjin rolls his eyes, but his tone is sympathetic. ‘You know how it is. People never expect him to be as soft as he really is.’
Yoongi nods. ‘Tell him if she can’t appreciate him she’s the one missing out.’
Seokjin snorts. ‘Tell him yourself, he’ll love it. Are you coming to Seulgi’s party?’
It’s rare that Yoongi goes out at night, he’s busy and he does his best work at night time, both in the workshop and on the streets, but he’d promised Seokjin he’d go.
‘Next week?’ he asks.
Seokjin nods, pushes open the door to the restaurant.
‘Yeah, don’t forget.’
***
Seulgi is a friend of Seokjin’s, they’d dated briefly, years back, but it hadn’t worked out.
She greets Seokjin enthusiastically at the door, the pink flush on her cheeks deepening as Seokjin gives her an affectionate hug.
She beams at Yoongi, and he smiles back because he’s not proof against her cheerful nature.
It’s how he became friends with Hoseok, after all.
‘Drinks, let me get you drinks,’ Seulgi cheers, leading them into her kitchen.
Seokjin’s swept away by Seulgi and her friends, he’s always been a popular guy. He shoots Yoongi a look as he’s pulled into the lounge, which Yoongi pretends not to see.
He lifts his cup to his lips, decides to go outside for a bit.
The deck outside has a few scattered people, mostly couples, some groups.
Yoongi leans against the wall, looks around idly. The throbbing bass of the music feels like a heartbeat. The night is cold and crisp, the skies clear, but there aren’t any stars visible in Seulgi’s backyard.
He lets his mind wander to his next project, restoring a classic Toyota for a friend from the circuit. He’ll need parts.
He wonders if you’ll be behind the counter when he next goes to the Kang warehouse. Then he’s straightening up, unsure if he’s manifested you into reality.
He’s never seen your full face, but he’d know your eyes anywhere.
You’re standing across the deck, looking straight at him, coat open over a dress that shows a hell of a lot more than the hoodie and sweats you had on the last time he saw you.
For the first time tonight, Yoongi feels a prickle of interest.
He’d known you’d be beautiful, there’d been something about the way you carried yourself.
You’re still looking at him.
Yoongi walks over.
‘Who’s manning the warehouse?’ he asks, when he gets close enough.
You tilt your head. ‘Are you really so concerned about my family business, Min Yoongi?’
There’s a mocking note in your voice, Yoongi finds he likes it.
‘You have the best quality parts,’ he says.
Your smile blooms over your face, making your eyes bright. ‘I knew there was a reason my grandfather liked you.’
Yoongi nods to your dress. ‘You look pretty.’
‘Thank you,’ you say. ‘You look pretty too.’
Yoongi can feel his lips curving. Are you flirting with him? Seems like you are.
He’s all for it.
You’re raising your cup now, taking a sip.
In the night time lighting, your lips glisten with moisture and whatever lipstick you’ve got on, making him wonder what they’d look like around his cock.
You eye him like you know exactly what he’s thinking.
Yoongi says, ‘Do you like cars? Want to see mine?’
***
You’ve got your legs either side of his torso, your ass bouncing in his lap, and Yoongi’s front seat’s reclined all the way to make room for you to ride him.
The lines of your beautiful body are reminiscent of a triumph of masters of Italian design. Long smooth thighs, tightening around him with every rhythmic thrust.
The curves of your breasts, bouncing right in his face.
The long line of your neck, head thrown back, the pulse in your throat fluttering as he holds your hips so he can fuck you back, fuck up into your sweet warmth.
His cock fits inside you like he was made for you, and god fucking damn, you feel so good around him he’s on a hair trigger.
Yoongi cups the back of your head, tugs you down so you’re close. Goosebumps prickle your flesh as he tells you how good you are.
Your eyes close as he kisses your bare neck, flicks his tongue against your skin.
You had been whimpering steadily as your arousal dripped down onto him, soaking his balls, pooling at the base of his cock, and as Yoongi picks up the pace he’s gratified by the hitch in your breathing.
Yoongi’s always been damn good at helping his partners find their pleasure, and he’s sure as hell not going to stop now.
Your breasts are still in his face, half out the low neck of your dress, chest heaving.
Yoongi rubs his thumb over the outline of your hardened nipple, and you cry out, muffled with your mouth against his skin but still loud enough to make his ears ring.
His balls tighten up even more as your walls flutter around him, and Yoongi would know you were coming even if you hadn’t gasped it.
God, you’re so sweet and sexy he’s lost.
He can feel your panting breaths against his neck, the weight of your warm body as it goes lax after your peak, the sweet grip of your cunt taking in everything he has to give you as he releases, a pulse of pleasure so intense it sends shockwaves through his skin.
Yoongi’s floating, and like reaching the summit of Mount Samo, he immediately wants to do it again.
You’re looking at him, lips still so swollen and pretty his spent cock gives a residual throb inside you.
‘Like my car?’ Yoongi asks. It’s stupid, but it makes you laugh and he’ll be as stupid as you like if it makes you sound like that.
Your chin lifts, and you say, ‘It’s all right.’
The flash of merriment in your eyes gives you away.
Yoongi laughs. ‘Maybe next time we can get the car started and I can actually take you somewhere.’
‘I don’t know,’ you tease. ‘Are you a good driver?’
Yoongi reaches out, tucks the lock of hair that’s fallen over your eye behind your ear.
‘Let’s find out,’ he says. ‘Where do you want to go?’
***
Yoongi’s thinking about you the next morning when he wakes up. He’d ended up taking you back to your place, where you’d kissed him sweetly at the door and bid him goodbye like a promise to see him again.
His phone rings and he’s still got you on his mind, so it takes a second for him to regroup.
‘The maknae needs help,’ Seokjin says, no preamble. ‘I’m going to swing by yours, be there in ten.’
Yoongi hangs up, wonders what the hell Jungkook’s got himself into this time.
By the time Seokjin arrives, Yoongi’s had time to bolt coffee and change, but Seokjin still raises a brow as he swings into the passenger seat.
As always, Seokjin’s impeccably dressed, dark hair swept back from his forehead like he’s going to his own fucking wedding instead of about to deal with some shit that’s going down.
Yoongi suppresses a yawn, tugs his beanie down over his brow.
‘What’s going down with JK?’ he asks.
Seokjin cuts off another car so smoothly they’re halfway down the intersection before the irritated horn blares.
‘Remember that race the other day? Jungkook beat Seungho fair and square, I was there.’
Yoongi groans. ‘The fuck. I thought we weren’t going to race that fragile asshole anymore.’
Seokjin glances in the rearview. ‘The maknae was still hurting over Mijin, I thought an easy win might make him feel better.’
‘So what’s Seungho done?’
‘Brought in the big guns,’ Seokjin says grimly. ‘Called in some guys from Hongkong. JK’s with them now.’
Now Yoongi’s fully awake. ‘Should’ve taken my car instead of this piece of shit,’ he says.
Seokjin just laughs. ‘Don’t worry about my car, Yoongi. Maybe think of a way to hide that big–ass hickey on your neck.’
‘Suck my dick,’ Yoongi says, like they’re 16 again.
‘Looks like someone already did,’ Seokjin returns.
***
Yoongi parks up outside the Kang warehouse, pushes open the door.
You look up from your phone. Your face mask is off, so Yoongi has the privilege of seeing the way your lips curve in a smile.
‘There’s been a shipment of fuel injectors,’ you say. ‘Want to take a look?’
Yoongi stops just in front of the wooden half-panel that separates you from him.
He tilts his head.
‘Yeah,’ he says. ‘Also, I took my friend’s Honda for a spin today, I’ve got a list.’
He smooths out the piece of paper he’s got folded in his pocket, places it on the counter.
You pick it up, get up. ‘I’ve got you.’
Yoongi runs a hand over the hickey over his neck. ‘I’ve been taking shit all day, about this,’ he adds.
‘Yeah?’ you ask, but you don’t seem the least bit contrite. ‘You did your share of marking, Min Yoongi.’
Yoongi asks, ‘What time do you get off?’
You’re about to answer when the door opens.
Yoongi turns and tenses immediately.
Fucking Shin Seungho.
‘You following me?’ he asks mildly.
Seungho scoffs, doesn’t deign to reply.
‘I’m collecting an order,’ he says to you.
Your face mask is back on, your face carefully blank. ‘Sure, what’s the name?’
When you go into the back to collect it Seungho turns to Yoongi.
Yoongi concentrates on the silkscreen of a cat on the wall behind the counter.
He can feel Seungho’s eyes on his face.
Just try it, fucker.
The fact was, he’d pushed Seokjin’s Honda to its limits beating Seungho’s friends today, and although the adrenaline’s ebbed, there’s a thin streak still running through his bloodstream, and he’s a spark away from igniting.
Seungho takes a step closer, and Yoongi turns to face him like he’s got all the time in the world.
You return just as Seungho opens his filthy mouth.
‘Looks like you’ve paid,’ you say, passing the box across the counter to Seungho.
You pull out the box cutter, slit the package, open it up for him to check, but don’t put it down.
‘Am I going to have trouble here, boys?’ you ask.
Seungho barely looks your way, Yoongi’s always known the man lacks vision.
‘Nah,’ Seungho says finally. He picks up the box, sneers at Yoongi.
Yoongi blanks his expression. There’s no way he’s going to start shit with Seungho in front of you.
The asshole’s not worth it.
As soon as the door closes behind Seungho you put down the box cutter.
The next words out of your mouth surprise him.
‘Shit, you’re hot when you’re mad, Yoongi.’
Yoongi stares at you, flummoxed, then he laughs.
‘Just when I’m mad?’ he asks.
You shrug. ‘Take me out on a date and I’ll tell you more.’
‘How about right now?’ Yoongi asks.
‘Yeah,’ you say. ‘Let’s go.’
***
As your grip on his hair loosens, Yoongi lifts his mouth from your cunt, swipes his mouth with the back of his hand. Helps you tug your panties back up, smooths your skirt back down over your thighs.
He notices you’ve still got his cum in the corner of your lips. As he watches, you flick your tongue out, lick delicately.
His cock stirs with interest, and you act like you know it.
‘More later?’ you ask.
‘Yeah. After I win.’
Yoongi reaches over to help you with your seatbelt, arranging it across your chest, between your breasts, securing it.
You lean forward and kiss him as the belt clicks into place.
Yoongi starts the engine, turns the heating back on because he’s noticed your hands get cold easily.
‘I can drop you off at home before the race,’ he offers. ‘Come see you after.’
‘I want to see you drive,’ you say.
Yoongi wouldn’t say it, but he’s pleased. He knows he’ll keep you safe, it’s a circuit through the city outskirts he’s done a million times, and he’s looking forward to you meeting Seokjin and Hoseok and Jungkook.
He flicks on the lights, rolls into oncoming traffic. Heads North.
By the time he pulls up to the starting line there’s the usual crowd gathered. He parks up next to Seokjin and Hoseok.
In his rearview he can see JK surrounded by people. He’s lost the sad puppy air he had for a few weeks whilst he was pining after Mijin. The kid’s going to be all right, not that Yoongi’s ever had any doubt about that.
Engines all around him are starting up, a deafening series of rumbles.
Beside him, Seokjin waves, and Hoseok smiles so brightly it’s blinding.
The flag waves, and Yoongi accelerates.
Checks on you in the rearview, and you’re as pretty as he remembers.
Min Yoongi’s spent a lot of his life looking for connection, and by his reckoning, he’s doing pretty well right about now.
Lights flash by in a blur.
Yoongi drives.
Author note: And that's a wrap! Thank you for reading, hope you've enjoyed, here's to a brighter 2024. This time last year we were saying goodbye to Kim Seokjin, I can't wait to start welcoming the boys back again. Happy holidays to you all!

Mercury retro in Taurus: a look at what my cards say!
Tumblr media
What do the cards say will come up during Mercury retro in taurus?
[[ ® = reversed]]
Row 1: 8 of Cups ®, The Hermit ®, King of Swords, The Empress, Queen of Swords ®
The King and Queen of Swords showing up represents relationships needing balance, and having the Empress in between them shows that balance is needed on a material level, in real life and with really earthy elements and issues. The 8 of Cups ® shows dissatisfaction, the feeling that no matter where we are there’s no real solace or contentment. Finding contentment and nourishment may be something that comes up strongly. The hermit ® shows us that we may try too hard to make sense of things, rather than just living. Isolation is not the answer, and the King of Swords is a reminder that communication is going to be paramount during this transit. There is not going to be success assuming how others feel and how others think; the main thing to remember is to check in, make sure we take the time and make the effort to really understand how the people we’re connected to are thinking and feeling.
Row 2: Page of Pentacles, Knight of Wands ®, The Universe, 6 of Pentacles, 2 of Wands ®
There’s a lot here about getting out of our heads and connecting with life as it is. This goes with the simplification that Taurus brings. It’s a connection to the reality of the world, and getting deeply in touch with things as they've manifested. There is always a learning experience that comes from Mercury retrogrades, and for this one a lot of it is connected to true, nurturing communication. There’s also something to be said about indecision coming through. The 2 of Wands ® shows that keeping our ideas solely to ourselves can render us stuck. Indecision can come from burnout or indulging in the feeling that we have to keep everything in. There’s also difficulty making plans without the input or assistance of others during this time, which makes sense because the ruler of the sign that Mercury will be in during it’s retrograde is Venus, the planet of relationships.
Oracle Cards: “Unfathomable”, Psyche”, “Anima”
Things can be revealed as exactly what they are, and solutions to problems can seem more complicated than they really are. There’s a major “It is what it is” energy speaking through these cards. There is no changing what is meant to be in its purest form, except our understandings of it, and the lessons around it. There is so much coming through about simplicity, taking the path of the least mental resistance, and with these other cards there is something being said about Intuition. Taking a more gentle (feminine energy) approach to conflict at this time could be very important, as well as being patient and really delving into empathy and understanding. We could receive revelations connected to some of the unseen things in our lives, as well, during this transit.

How To Do Body Composition Analysis with BIODY XPERT Analyzer
Tumblr media
An evaluation of your body’s proportion of fat to fat-free mass is known as body composition analysis. It may also reveal the location of the body’s fat and muscle storage. You must know about how much muscle you have it represents how fit you are and the results will vary on body structure and proportions. The main goal is to minimize the excess amount of fat you carry. Accuracy is one of the ways that body composition and Body Mass Index (BMI) differ. Based on height and weight, the BMI calculates body fat. The muscle to fat ratio, on the other hand, is thought to be more beneficial to general health and fitness and is deemed to be out of date.
Alfarsi.me is the best Biody Xpert Device Suppliers in Oman, Muscat for body composition analysis in Muscat, Oman.
It can be used to determine the fat mass and hydration levels. It’s a multi-frequency device that doesn’t require any wires or consumables. It is an interconnected object that takes advantage of cutting-edge technology that can be used anywhere.
The main health benefits associated with measuring body composition are the chances of diabetes, heart disease, and other health issues will be considerably reduced if you are able to burn more calories and gain muscle. You will move more freely and perform better because you have more energy. Test your body composition first if you are worried or want to lose weight and keep it off.
To improve your overall body composition you can do it with simple changes in your body. You can enhance your muscle to fat ratio, which in turn affects your body composition, by making little modifications to your everyday routine like getting more physical activity by engaging in resistance workouts. Another strategy is to mix cardiovascular exercise with a nutritious diet. Additionally, when compared to a baseline, body composition results can help a doctor forecast recovery times and best practises for patients who are recuperating from cardiovascular issues or a recent fall.
Talk to your doctor when you next have an appointment if you want to find out what your muscle to fat ratio is. Depending on the test, you may need to schedule an additional session. While some evaluation techniques or measurements are quick and easy, others might be lengthy and in-depth. It totally depends on the tools your primary care doctor possesses and the details you’re looking for.
Biody Xpert place the big role in body composition analysis, the main advantages are simplicity, speed, precision, and savings.
Simplicity : The measurements are done by the patients themselves. Start the measurement by applying pressure with the thumb to one end of the gadget while holding the other end over the ankle.
Speed : The measurement happens right away. The web application receives the data over Bluetooth after that. Additionally, it may be stored on the gadget for subsequent use.
Precision : Electrode location is crucial in BIA technology. Therefore, it is essential that electrodes always maintain the same position during measurements and allow for the measurement of the entire body from hand to foot. Only Biody Xpert is capable of doing this. Cables are not present, so all forms of outside influence are eliminated. It has tamper-proof supra-conductive electrodes. The measurement can be taken in the two most dependable positions of sitting or lying down thanks to its ergonomic design.

Good for two hundred horsepower, the Prelude had simply no trouble putting all that power straight down around the bends with its independent suspension system. With plenty of room under the cover to access parts, this car will certainly spend more time on the road than in the garage area.

The rear-wheel-drive platform, with the sub-2600 lbs curb weight, offers performance implications immediately felt from the driver. Which begs the question, exactly why this car has been overlooked. Specifically with the reported ease of maintenance plus tunability of both the turbo four-banger and the V6.

Four Hangout: Recap
Oh, man, I know I “owe” this one, so I’m doing it, but I hate it for about 15 different reasons, 14 of those being Ben Winston, which means I’m gonna keep this fairly short. The Four Hangout (lmao, I will never stop laughing at the attempts to team up with Google’s shitty tech) predates my entry into this fandom, so I’m not as on top of every little thing that happened around it (and my god, there were some doozies). I’ve found other posts that do a better job of transcribing some key moments), but I’m sure lots of others are out there, and as ever, I recommend taking 35 minutes to stare at this work of art for yourself.
Whenever I’ve seen gifs from this, the read is that at least two people are coming off a coke bender as we all focus on Ben’s rather ham-fisted attempt to get Louis to admit that he hates people thinking he’s gay. But in rewatching it in full now and knowing more about the context around it, the true vibe is exhaustion mixed with some very real anger/mulishness aimed at management in general and Ben in particular. Because the point of the Four Hangout isn’t to promote Four, the album, but to exonerate the D’s management team, blow smoke up Ben’s ass, and “clear the air” about whatever rumors have been going around that the D’s team doesn’t like, all posed as questions theoretically from the fans, yet weirdly management focused.
I’ve found lots of good blog posts that summarize these 35 or so minutes, but here’s an executive summary of my comments coupled with others I’ve found:
Ben Winston is an insufferable dick
The D is so fucking TIRED at this point, everyone’s low energy, but Louis’s voice is the softest, raspiest, most enchanting thing
They regularly creep on social media and are up on pretty much everything fandom related
There are no rumors they need to dismiss except that they’re currently alive, go on, ask them twice!
Liam is great at delivering the corporate spiel
Harry really did get them sneezes out
The Louis/Ben feud is one thing; the Harry/Ben feud is a whole other
Louis reads fanfic (and has some faves!)
Narry are ride or die WMYB, except for when Harry needs to have a go at Ben
Zayn has somehow made himself look even more godlike
Louis has super cute socks
With that in mind, let’s jump into some key moments, but I’m paraphrasing a lot because it’s so hard to hear over all the cross-talk, asides, and inside jokes. More under the cut!
Shout out to Louis's collarbones and quiff combo...his voice is about to give out, but he’s so OPEN and present for this total shitshow, even when he defiantly refuses to take the path he’s being guided down. Also, please @ god let me play some poker while we enjoy a bacon butty over brunch, his face as Niall introduces Ben as a “very, very good friend of ours” (me as both Ziam and Harry):
Tumblr media
One of the most subversive things this band does is effusive praise when they’re pissed off, and never is it clearer than here, when Niall gushes on about all the wonderful work Ben has done for them, and the other boys pick up on it and start whistling and clapping (Louis: “My hero”; Harry: “LOOK AT THOSE TEETH!”) until Ben gets extremely uncomfortable.
We’re off to a good start, with Ben being sure to preface that all of these questions are from the fans, and then Harry asking Ben if he’s wearing makeup (Ben, mildly affronted, “No, I’m not wearing any makeup, but you guys do, you wear a lot of makeup, don't you, Harry” [Harry: “Tons”; Ben: “Well, you need to”]).
The first question is about the difference between this album and their first one, and it’s such a stupid, easy question that I want to answer it for Niall because I can do it in my sleep. Ben then asks Louis if he likes visiting the X Factor, if it reminds him of the old days (you know, four years ago), and AGAIN, this is a dumb-ass question, and Louis’s a pro, so what do you think he’s gonna say? (Of course he likes visiting, it’s lovely to go down and relive it). Is Harry nervous about playing there again tonight? Nope, it’s fun!! He can enjoy it this time around! Simon Cowell doesn’t give him ANY anxiety!!
The next question is about the simplicity of the old days, and my god, does my heart break for Liam saying that they had to work really hard back then, so it’s nice that four years later, they get a few more vacation days. Louis agrees, adding that the first American promo trip was a grind where they did 10 things a day (multiple interviews, signings, radio appearances, rehearsals, and shows)
Ben asks if they ever go back and watch clips of themselves from their early days (this genuinely does seem like a fan ask), and wouldn’t you know, Niall was just chillin’ out last week, rewatching all the video diaries again. Louis admits that his red trousers and braces were loud, but they worked for the time, “Or do you disagree, Ben?” (Ben: “No, I loved it.” Louis: “Thank you.”) And I wish I could travel back in time both so I could kill Hitler AND witness Ben showing up somewhere in a pair of Toms, only to be faced by Louis Tomlinson telling him that he wore that style two years ago, and he wouldn’t anymore, which Ben says cut him down to size (I highly doubt that, but I would have love to see it).
All of this fashion talk is side-winding into a question about who tells them what to wear and whether they have control over their image now. They all note that they wouldn’t have dared to push back in year one, presumably because “experts” were telling them what to do, plus it was all free (which makes all the dragging on their old looks extra fun to watch). Then Ben asks whether they make their own decisions now, and Liam says yeah as Louis smirks, lmaooooo, which morphs into, well, we have much more input than we used to have. I’m here for Harry giving a slow, long-winded answer as a construction project starts up somewhere in the studio, and Louis yells, “Keep it down” into his mic.
Ben, I mean, the fans want to know what piece of advice they’d give the fetus versions of themselves, if they could go back in time, and Louis advises his younger self to have a second glance in the mirror and see if he’s really sure about that particular outfit. (Ben: “Is that…really?” Louis: “No, Ben, I’m just trying to make a joke.”). Liam would fight the haircuts, and Harry would burn the supras (I’m assuming; Louis: “They were outrageous”). Zayn would tell his younger self to have a bit more fun, to try and take it all in and enjoy it more. :(
“The fans” are curious about the negative side of social media, how the D just exploded on YouTube and Twitter after X Factor, and does it ever go too far? Liam channels my inbox and says that people forget there’s a person on the other side of an anon message, that these guys see all the things that are said about them, and they’re self-conscious with cameras and comments, but it’s okay, they put up with it. Louis’s addicted to Twitter, and says that there are negative people there, but you’ll find negative people on every social media platform and in real life, too, it is what it is.
Of course, “the fans” are curious about how all this social media shit affects their girlfriends, and I would kill to hear more about what Narry, the two singles on this couch, keep giggling about in this ridick convo that I’m not even gonna bother to sum up.
Ben’s curious how the fans always manage to leak everything the band does, and yes, Louis, tell us more! How does it make you feel? Liam thinks it’s anticlimactic, Niall’s only beef is when something is leaked a week before it’s out, and everyone else just gets annoyed if it breaks the structure of a rollout, but nobody talks about songs that are leaked that were never meant for official release (cough cough, "Home”), and Harry’s just happy people get a sneak peek and then still buy the album, so all is good. Me as this exchange: Ben, incredulously, “It’s amazing they’re able to constantly do it”; Liam: “Lots of high-tech people out there.”
Probably my favorite part of this is the fanfic discussion, which kicks off with Ben’s “I've noticed, not that I’ve read it, but there's been a lot of fanfiction published about you boys, books published, have you any read it?”
Tumblr media
Zayn avoids it at all costs, but Louis’s aware of a fic writer’s book deal (who????) and says that he’s come across some of it on twitter (!!!). He finds some of it utterly bizarre (looking at you, self-inserts), but he’s read some nice little stories, and he’s seen some that go very deep and very, very weird. Liam acknowledges that it’s a whole different world, that he gets the idea of it, of fans putting themselves in situations with them (and Jesus Christ, it kills me that they’ve had to read self-insert wattpad fics), but some of it blows his mind. Niall doesn’t know where to go looking for it, but don’t worry friend, Ben’s gonna hook you up with his favorites! Harry is noticeably quiet during ALL of this.
With a horrible segue, Ben says, “Speaking of things that are made up, what’s the biggest rumor you’ve heard about yourself, this is a question lots of fans are asking” (SURE THING), and Harry never gets enough credit for his dry delivery, such as the way he says, “We’ve all been dead a couple of times.” But Ben can’t let it go, and that’s when Louis does his whole, “No”….dramatic pause (he might be saying “Go,” but the point is, he lets this bit drop where it lands). Zayn jumps in with the rumor that Niall used to be a jockey, and god bless him, honestly.
Ben realizes he’s not getting anywhere with this, so it’s time to move on to the actual album, why is it called Four, etc. It’s not really all that interesting, tbh, nor is the name they didn’t go with as a band (Liam’s dad’s suggestion, which was USP, if you’re curious). Liam figures USP will flourish one day, and this whole section proves how funny Liam actually is. I’m curious about all the One Direction tribute bands they’re mentioning, and I’m totally down to check one out if they’re ever in my area, just fwiw.
Anyway, moving on! What song are they most proud of? Zayn loves “Where Do Broken Hearts Go,” and Louis is WAY into “Fireproof,” which Liam’s down with, too. The part that’s interesting gets glossed over because Ben’s an idiot, but they talk about how many songs they’ve written that don’t make it to the album, like, Liam has a tattoo that says “somewhere is a place that nobody knows” from a song we’ll never hear called “Man on a Mission,” and how many others are stored in this vault (23 or 24 were in the final running for this album, where are they)? Harry suggests those songs will be on USP’s first album, and I will absolutely buy it. His story about the Norway bus trip makes me want to dig deep (he was on a party bus in Norway and heard one of their songs, sung by them, that had never been released anywhere, and he was the only one who knew it).
Zayn hints a bit at what happens (voting), and Liam hints at all the meetings, but I would love to know so much more about this process, especially since Niall says that lots of people are in these meetings, with lots of opinions (Simon, label, other managers).
Ben says that another recurring question is about what “Stockholm Syndrome” means, and I love the Alex Turner-esque dodge we get on Harry literally describing what Stockholm Syndrome means, without any real insight into what the song’s about. Still, I live in the awkward that happens right after this drops, with Ben still somehow trying to get them to admit they don’t feel trapped, lmao:
Tumblr media
Ben asks about which songs are about specific people, and god, I don’t care because all of this section is lies. Then he tries to get them to talk about songs they don’t like, and they aren’t here for that, like, Liam will say he can’t casually listen to WMYB, but he loves performing it, and the best part of this is Harry saying he’ll crank that song and mouth along, pretending that he’s Niall.
For their favorite songs, Liam goes with “Fireproof,” Louis goes with “Midnight Memories,” Niall goes with “Where Do Broken Hearts Go,” Zayn can’t pick one, and Harry says “Best Song Ever.” Ben likes “Through the Dark” because of course he does, and that’s when the needling from Harry starts about “Gotta Be You,” and I don’t understand, but I live for him on the attack, so geddit, son (also, Niall, with his “your boyfriend’s back, and you’re gonna be in trouble,” etc., YES).
Another question Ben kept getting from fans (got it!) is what would be the one thing they’d change in the past four years, and Louis starts with, “Why would you want to? It’s been great, there’s no point.” Liam agrees, and that’s that. Ben’s next question is what moment they’d relive in the past four years, and Niall says he was really nervous at MSG, although Zayn thinks it was a great gig BECAUSE they were nervous. Nothing’s really happening here, so Ben asks Harry what’s going on with his hair (I guess “the fans” want to know?), and Harry just says it tends to grow, that’s what hair does, and he’s letting it all hang out.
Another “fan” question that makes me laugh from Ben: “Who makes the decisions in One Direction? Is it always your call?” And they all say NO, but Liam jumps in with, “It’s totally us, people ask us now, ultimately we call the shots,” and there’s a LOT of back-chatter here, so draw what you see.
Ben tries to push how much they love the “Night Changes,” video, and AGAIN, Harry gets on his case about “Gotta Be You,” and someone else covers it better than I ever could, but this goading by Harry is wonderful. Ben’s creative process for video concepts is fascinating because he basically admits that it’s easy or it’s really hard (read: he steals it or just throws a shitty idea to a wall to see if it sticks).
Ben asks if they get nervous about people liking the album, and Louis says they care if critics like the album or not, but really, he’s out there on twitter searching different song titles to see the fan reaction. This is also when we learn they aren’t on ye olde social meeds that much anymore, but they all enjoy a good old-fashioned creep session (Zayn especially). Harry’s comment about feeling vulnerable when you release something you’ve been working on for a year feels especially poignant—he gets excited and nervous all at once—and I really don’t get this whole controlled leak promo thing they did for Four, but who am I to question Modest or Syco?? All I want to know is what Niall’s talking about on the side.

complexity and simplification
Death is a simplification of life. Ain’t nothing more simple than physics? life, takes that simplicity and exponentialy complexies it into something in which that simplicity plays a major factor on the outcome of the results that are crucial to life. If theoutcome is on life’s faver, it will strive and continue, and populate and change, and bring change to everything around, it will turn matter into a system, into a biology, it will continue to work into a self contained logic that finds it’s fit into the soil of physics and the thermodinamic soil of reality itself. From the very start life is a virtualization of something that revolves about itself, for its on sake, like an imagination that lives and works for its own replication and representation, for its own continuity of being imagined. It is interesting to itself. Is it worth it? worth scapes that of what is inherent to a virtualization, it necesary, again, we cannot bring that to life. It is an scapism of the simplicity that bring simplification to everything, a macro convultion of the elements and the energy, disipating through the universe, and the universe with it, and in that thurmcoil, in that storm, life is like an scape, a tiny bubble, in which there is something, out of the simplicity of that nothingness that is the spectrums of reality. That scape integrates to itself some of those aspects of reality, and gives them a part into its processs, color, gravity, temperature, all them star to playa role, into that small glitch that is life, that thearing of the simplicity, pulling the concrete into the imaginary, the imaginary that finds itself important to itself. That imagination, pulls reality, changing it, making somethin else of it.
That else, is what we are compromised with, because it is like a game, it exists for the sake of being played, for the sake of having a glimpse of it happening, out of that maelstorm. It is an sphere that starts existing out of the chaos, and in this case this sphere of order is actualy a complexity, and the neverending chaos is simplicity, it is the elements as we used to call them, revolving into themselves. those elements are of course thermo-electrostatic-gravity-darkmatter-newparticles-backgorundnoise-stuff, because we are all the time discovering what are the elements, and the spheres start of course with the simpliest forms of life, the spheres of life, and the stakes of the game of course that have different magnitudes, and in each sphere there different rules. Now, we are at the point that humanity can be given its own sphere, one that we could call the sphere of existence, and we too as life pulls stuff from the elements to play a role into its own spheres, our sphere can pull stuff from other spheres to play a role in ours, like the dogs and the microbies that change us in their use, into our sphere. We are special in a way in which we can integrate almost anything into our sphere.
Now, what would a god be? a supra sphere that integrates us into its own wway of using us, to play its own game.
into the dialectic of what simplicity and complexity brings, we could say that, it is important to simplify in order to asimilate, we see it everywhere, as a way from understanding, to a way of assimilating fooe for example.
now if we give a role to someone, lets say pedophile, we are indeed simplifiyn, but in a way in whic we are not understanding, but simplifiyn in order for us to use that into a discourse for example, a discourse of looserness, and ostracism, it is then a bad example of human being. Like that we can simplify people by giving them labels and never understading them, not even caring abour understading them.,
But we must understand that we are by principle complexities, and that we are as political , as imaginative, as shady, as corrupt, as imaginative, as empathic, as economic creatutes, and that we are by that übermost complexities, and we are not resolved until we die, and we cannot be resolved until all of us dies.
Another dialectic is that women are, my own degrading perception simplier thatn men, but they make us men complexier. As we are used to reach and try to bring other stuff for our use, we find that game, extremely important, it is our life game, to bring stuff for us to use. Women do not have that need, because they are given in a sense that role, of receiving, they recieve attention, they receive the interest etc of being something valuable. That is of course for human females, and most probably victorian. But that is my understanding of stuff righ now.
We remain complex aslong as we exist, as long as we remain in this sphere, wanting to be pulled to a new sphere, much more complex in which we are used by complexer being, what could be better?being bringed to them, to the gods. Wouldn’t your serve as good as you could, and that is, by the mere way of being human, being yourself?
This opoens new paths new questions to be answered.
Ah and for a final thought, the weird ones, are the ones that read books, wtach, sincerely, films, and do stuff like that, maybe you can find one like it.

My personal impression of the new BMW Z4 M40i. via /r/cars
My personal impression of the new BMW Z4 M40i.
I had a chance to take a new Z4 M40i for a relatively long test drive today, and as a long fan of BMW who hated a lot of their recent trends since the F30, I actually liked the Z4 a lot. Here are my impressions. For context I have F80 M3 and a Tesla Model 3.
Exterior Design: Let me just get this out of the way. I believe BMW's design has been doing down the drain in a hand basket with the most recent generation, with the exception of the G20 5-series, which I have no doubt will get its own share of terrible nose job in the upcoming LCI face lift. The general profile of the new Z4 is nice, but the big nostrils on the front kept giving me the urge to plug in the biggest 2-prong power adapter in the world. The rear of the car looked very sleek, but the unfortunately was a deal breaker for me.
Interior Design: I loved it, material could be nicer (come on BMW, get rid of this shameful Dakota leather already), but the design language was a good mix of modern simplicity and traditional ease of access. I think it's a good compromise between my M3 and my Tesla Model 3.
Drivetrain: This turbo inline-6 is rated at 382 hp, and I would not be surprised if it's actually outputting that much at the wheels. The power delivery is immediate and the throttle response wasn't far off my Tesla to be honest. The turbo lag was even less noticeable than my M3, which can be somewhat laggy if not in the right gear. Talking about the right gear, a lot of people have complained that BMW has ditched DCT for the ZF-8 in their recent sports cars/M-cars, and the next gen-M3 is gonna be ZF-8 as well. Somehow this is BMW becoming less sporty and less "hardcore". Well, let me just put it this way, good fucking riddance. The DCT is easily my least favorite part of the M3. It performs brilliantly on the track and shifts lighting quickly, but it's harsh, jarring, and is programmed with some of the most schizophrenic software for any speed below 40 mph. It literally has a mental meltdown half the time between 2nd and 3rd gear and shakes the car violently since it couldn't make up its mind. It was so bad for daily driving that I had to buy a Tesla...
In contrast the ZF8 shifts as quickly as my DCT and is butter smooth, and I can actually leave it in auto mode and the software will just do its thing and always be at the right gear. Everything considered, I'll personally argue this is the best automatic transmission this side of the PDK.
Oh I almost forgot, the engine/exhaust sounded good, like...much better than my M3.
Steering/Chassis: First of all, holy batman the steering ratio. It's much quicker than my M3 and is almost as quick as the video game rack that's in my Model 3. Not sure how I feel it but it does make the car feel super sharp, if not a bit unnaturally so. Steering weigh was fantastic in Sports Mode, not a lot of steering feel but better than most other EPS I've driven. The chassis itself was tuned brilliantly and it was both sharp and comfortable on your average public road, and most importantly, it was easy to put the power down almost anytime without freaking out the rear end. My M3's chassis gets unsettled by road imperfections as easily as my parents' cat gets unsettled by their Roomba, and the traction control light might as well be perpetually on if you have a lead foot. No such problem in the Z4 and overall the car felt tighter and actually inspires more confidence on regular roads.
Overall Impression: I had a blast driving this car on a sunny day with the top down. Depends on the roads I think I may even enjoy this more than the 718S. It doesn't approach Porsche's balance and absolute handling limit, but it's still positively brilliant and the engine is just that much better than the turbo inline-4 in the 718S, both in performance and more importantly to some, its sound and emotional appeal. I started the drive thinking this was going to be a softened, nerfed, and over-priced and over-glorified "lifestyle" car, but I walked away thinking this was one of the best BMW sports car I've driven in years. It's not a hardcore track toy like some of the M cars, but it's still a very good sports car in the same sense how a stock MX-8 isn't hardcore but is still a brilliant sports car. Good job BMW, and now I'm very much looking forward to get my hands on the new Supra to see how they differ.
P.S. Still wouldn't buy one because it's too ugly.

So lately I’ve really wanting to get a 2nd gen MR2. I love the look, I love tiny sports cars, and I want to snap oversteer into a tree.
I’m still undecided if I want to get a turbo or naturally aspirated car. My daily driver is already pretty fast, so I’m not interested at all in a fast car. The Miata is a perfect car, and one of the reasons is because it’s slow, so that’s the angle I’m coming at this from. I actually have driven an SW20 turbo before, and it was actually slower than I was expecting, so that’s good, but it’s still a bit faster than what I’m looking for.
One of the things I’m looking for is a car that’s mostly untouched. I’m fine with upgrades to make the car more reliable or manageable, but I really want to preserve the early 90s look of the car as much as possible. Ideally this means OEM bumpers/skirts, original radio, and original wheels. While MR2′s radio isn’t as badass as the Mk2 Supra’s radio, I can appreciate its smooth simplicity.
Tumblr media
I’ve been on the lookout for a good example of these cars, but they’re unfortunately not as common as I’d hope. There’s definitely cars that are harder to find, but finding a good one is tough. I don’t need it to be exceptionally showroom quality. For example, there’s little chance I’ll find something as good looking as above, especially for my price range, but I do want to make sure I get something that’s in good mechanical condition and well cared for.
Interestingly, JDM models are appearing all over the nation now. With the way import laws work, it’s now legal to import cars up to 1994. I keep seeing these things, even locally. They seem to be in generally better condition for the price, but I don’t know that I would want to put up with the hassle of right hand drive in the US.

From one hour to one minute: New analysis technique simplifies the process to detect Bisphenol A contaminants
Bisphenol A is a chemical compound used mainly in the manufacture of plastics and in the production of thermal paper, used to print sales receipts and different types of tickets. In recent decades several studies have demonstrated its unhealthy effects due to its toxicity, especially on the hormonal system, which is why its use has been restricted in some EU countries.
A research team has now reduced and simplified the process to detect this type of contaminant through a new procedure that slashes the analysis time "from one hour to just over a minute," explained Ana Ballesteros, one of the researchers with the "Supramolecular Analytical Chemistry" group at the University of Cordoba, who, together with María Jesús Dueñas and Soledad Rubio, participated in the project.
This new technique makes possible direct analysis of the sample with little or no pre-treatment and separation, which is common in traditional methods. To this end, the new procedure, which has been tested on 62 thermal paper samples, makes use of two fundamental elements. First, environmental mass spectrometry, a new and highly useful field that makes it possible to identify substances on the basis of their mass by means of direct and rapid analysis equipment. Second, the research group has introduced a type of green solvent into the process, which is key to simplifying the analysis technique and extracting bisphenol from the sample.
These environmentally-friendly solvents, called SUPRAS, have emerged in recent years as an alternative to other conventional petroleum-based products. Their high performance allows for fast and efficient extraction using very little solvent. "While traditional methods can entail treatment taking several hours, and a greater consumption of toxic solvents, now we do it in just a few seconds, and using only a few microliters of a solvent that is also environmentally friendly," said Ballesteros.
This new analysis technique, as described in Chemosphere, a scientific journal specialized in environmental chemistry, uses a glass probe that contains the solvent and is placed in contact with the sample to be analyzed. This probe is then placed in a computer connected to a database that quickly alerts one to the presence of bisphenols. "This is a validated procedure that could be used by any non-expert user," explained the researcher.
The new methodology, "whose simplicity is one of its main upsides," opens the door to the analysis of other contaminants in different types of materials," emphasized the author of the study. In fact, the research group has launched another study to apply this same analysis technique to food packaging.

Gilles Deleuze wrote an article called Instincts and Institutions, which says more of less what you might expected from the impishly alliterative title. One could riff on the idea, or just adduce other examples from cultural discourse: invention and convention, mess and method, impassioned and impassive. The poles of these oppositions are always present in some mixture. It’s a spectrum, or two layers that are inseparably laminated. Walter Benjamin wrote that, in Naples, “Building and action interpenetrate in the courtyards, arcades, and stairways. In everything they preserve the scope to become the theatre of new, unforeseen constellations.” He could have been talking about media in general, or the cultural institutions of a city. Always there is space (the idea goes) for new phenomena to emerge, for existing forms to contain new content, for content to find new forms. Broadly speaking, it’s the forms and institutions that take the part of rationality, and the content and individuals who represent contingency. Continuous structures (necessary) and punctiform events (contingent). Grey obdurate concrete and the colourful, yielding crowd. Of course artists want to rise above the cloud, to be lauded as exemplary, to have their personal charisma recognised in its irreducible individuality: pure, raw, unadulterated.
In architecture, the concept of contingency is associated with a host of phenomena. Steven Holl, writing in 2009, declared: “Today, working with doubt is unavoidable, the absolute is suspended by the relative and the interactive. Instead of stable systems we must work with dynamic systems. Instead of simple and clear programs we engage contingent and diverse programs. Instead of precision and perfection we work with intermittent, crossbred systems, and combined methods.“ Life, aura, conjunctions and interrelationships: contingency is the capacious mental category that contains all of these things, in opposition to the simplicity and regularity of rationality, of rationalism. Giorgio Grassi wrote of “The what and the how, the practical problem and the execution, the law of necessity and the rules of the trade: the whole of architecture boils down to these two conditions.” To follow the law of necessity is to enlist nature and mathematics; the rules of the trade, on the other hand, are historically contingent.
If the best architects start with an idea, they share with conceptual artists the problem of whether or not to realise it. Can an extended architectural project exist without concrete architectural objects? For conceptual art, in Sol Lewitt’s terms, a concept might be realised by one or more ideas, much as a proposition might admit one or more proofs. The proposition itself can be disseminated, without proof, passing straight into discourse without anything further taking place. A concept can be the end product of a creative practice; a snapshot of the artist or architect’s state of mind, precisely as refined or unrefined as they themselves are at that moment. An approach to art which prioritises products places the emphasis on the artist’s holistic aesthetic judgement, and on the finite perfectibility of the work. It is traditional. The contrasting emphasis on process is open-ended, stressing the natural course of things, perhaps never allowing the artwork to crystallise into a stable approved form that the artist themselves might sign off on, approve or reject. The supra-individual concerns of evolution and non-human forces are placed in the foreground. Jacques Monod’s book Chance and Necessity stresses that purposeful actions can coexist with the essential contingency of natural phenomena.
Art museums present themselves as immaculate controlled environments. Every object is held in an administrative-intellectual, rational-legal framework. The regulative grid holds the coordinates of every artefact. The image is of a perpetual, impersonal Cartesian matrix. Against this grid is opposed the pathway: space against place, time against occasion. You might recognise in this opposition the pseudo-Kantian categories of nomothetic and idiographic, or, crudely, quantitative and qualitative. Statistics and histograms, because they abstract over individuals, are disliked by artists as much as prescribed courses of action. If your objective is to make a mark, in a fairly unsubtle way, a system predicated on aiming at and achieving predetermined outcomes is no good. You want a glamorous deviation, a performance. Even the most abstemious, sober artists are pushing against the system.

summary :
Judgement and The High Priestess share the energy of beginnings, the beginning of an awakening and the beginning of an initiation. And so they also share the finality of endings, since each marks an irrevocable boundary between levels of awareness. The Priestess guards the gate to the last secrets of self and world. Judgement is the door to the beginnings of the secret knowledge of self and world. On the far side of Judgement everything is sound asleep in the dream of the everyday. On the far side of The Priestess everything is wide awake at the end of the final journey.
Judgement listens to the sound of a call so loud that it cannot be ignored. It emerges from the ordinary, stripped of everything it previously held precious and identified with. It begins a brand new life in a world made new by a new awareness, awakened and motivated by a distant energy it hears and obeys but doesn't understand. It finds itself in a state of constant transformation fueled by a steady and unquenchable inner fire.
The High Priestess is mysterious, self-effacing and self-sufficient. Her silence is ancient and perfect. She says nothing and does nothing, but leaves nothing unsaid or undone. She is cool, serene and complete.
Unintegrated and imperfectly realized, Judgement can be deaf to the inner call and heedless of its potential, remaining steadfastly concerned with everyday matters and ordinary pursuits. Nevertheless, it can still be susceptible to visions, ghosts and all sorts of paranormal experiences, with a strong psychic talent and a readiness to believe stories of the super- and supra-natural.
The stubborn denial of Judgement can join forces with the Priestess' certainty that she knows everything. When this happens, they combine as foolish self-confidence alternating with a fear of the unknown, making personal growth a harrowing experience
Together, they focus on the transcendent rather than on the commonplace. They combine high energy, and a capacity for radical change and impressive growth, with an intuitive awareness of the vastness of the mystery of things. They can be great explorers, willing to plunge into the fertile and frightening unknown and take their chances with it.

Time as the concept of god
Why is time looked over for being a god or at least having the traits of one?
Let’s start by looking at some definitions of god from Wikipedia
Attribute by attribute
In monotheistic thought, God is conceived of as the supreme being, creator, and principal object of faith.[1] God is usually conceived of as being omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent and omnibenevolent as well as having an eternal and necessary existence. God is most often held to be incorporeal, with said characteristic being related to conceptions of transcendence or immanence
Is time supreme? Time created everything you can conceive of Omnipotent. Time is all powerful. The ability to create and destroy at will Omniscient. What is unknown over the span of time Omnipresent. Hopefully you actually start thinking about this thought process Omnibenevolent. This is cope but time gave you everything positive and negative you had in your life. You can also take all the negative things you’ve experienced to justify how good some things are
The definition of eternal is quite literally Eternity, in common parlance, means infinite time that never ends (or the quality, condition or fact of being eternal).
Is time necessary for every physical thing to happen? Even if you take abstract concepts you still need time to think of them
Your interpretation of time can be transcendence or immanence depending on how you look at time. Either it is independent of the universe or it encompasses all that happens in the universe and is the manifestation through which you can interact with matter In religion, transcendence is the aspect of a deity's nature and power that is wholly independent of the material universe, beyond all known physical laws. This is contrasted with immanence, where a god is said to be fully present in the physical world and thus accessible to creatures in various ways.
You can’t touch time nor can you fully interact with it like you can matter. It’s something that goes on and controls your every action without you being able to stop or fight it. How like a god is it to be so incomprehensible and yet so powerful that you didn’t even come to think of it as being so powerful and incomprehensible. Even now with the reference, can you conceive of time properly? Why is it there? Why doesn’t it stop? Is time subject to time? Does it span everything simultaneously or just experience moments in time like us? Every single moment you have in your consciousness is defined by time. There’s no physical mechanism for time travel being possible. If you were able to use time for such selfish things it would disprove god by being able to take control and use it.
I’m going to use more definitions for god but substitute time for god in these next passages. Does it apply? If it does then why does it apply?
The philosophy of religion recognizes the following as essential attributes of God:
Omnipotence (limitless power)
Omniscience (limitless knowledge)
Eternity (Time is not bound by time)
Goodness (Time is wholly benevolent)
Unity (Time cannot be divided)
Simplicity (Time is not composite)
Incorporeality (Time is not material)
Immutability (Time is not subject to change)
Impassability (Time is not affected)
There is no universally accepted consensus on what time is,[1] and concepts of time vary considerably across cultures.[1] Huw Owen states that the term time or its equivalent in other languages" has a bewildering range of meanings and significance.[39]:vii-ix It has ranged from "infinite transcendent being who created and lords over the universe" (Time), to a "finite entity or experience, with special significance or which evokes a special feeling" (time), to "a concept in religious or philosophical context that relates to nature or magnified beings or a supra-mundane realm", to "numerous other usages"
That first part doesn’t apply to time because nobody thinks of it as god or even mentions it besides being ingrained in words and concepts. Nobody directly addresses time. You can take time as infinite or you can specify a time in which you felt a certain way. You can never experience either fully but can look at time in both ways. A finite time period or time as a concept being infinite. How can time fit every characteristic of god so well even conflicting characteristics? In polytheism there is the belief in more than one god. Is there more than one time in your life? Do these times represent different things? Suppose you added up everything you’ve experienced. Wouldn’t those times just become one time? You can split god or time into multiple “beings” or you can combine them into a singular. Even the concepts of heaven and hell are things you can perceive of because of time. You have experienced pain and thus you’ve experienced a reference to what hell could be and you’ve experienced pleasure thus you’ve experienced a reference to what heaven could be. These concepts also have the implication of being infinite in time. Why does time come up for these concepts? What concepts relating to god don’t apply for time? Even gender is something you can apply or not apply. Time is a concept that happens all the time (how do you explain god without god being the definition?). Time can be seen as feminine in the sense that it nurtures you as you grow older and is passive in that it lays in the background. Time can also be seen as masculine in the sense that it forces situations upon you and is aggressive in that you’re forced to go along with it with no say whatsoever
Time is typically conceptualized as a supernatural or divine concept, manifesting in ideas and knowledge, in a form that combines excellence in some or all aspects, wrestling with weakness and questions in other aspects, heroic in outlook and actions, yet tied up with emotions and desires.[40][41] In other cases, time is a principle or reality such as the idea of "soul". The Upanishads of Hinduism, for example, characterize Atman (soul, self) as deva (deity), thereby asserting that the deva and eternal supreme principle (Brahman) is part of every living creature, that this soul is spiritual and divine, and that to realize self-knowledge is to know the supreme.
Can you apply the concept of time to this? Don’t read the next bit as I go into it (perhaps I shouldn’t) and it would defeat a point I’m trying to make if you do just read it. What should I say here to put words so that you think I’m going to address it instead of trying to see how it applies to time. My interpretation of time is not the same as yours. If you think time is god then apply it. If you think time isn’t god then try and apply it and see why it fails. This one is harder to apply than others but if you can do it what do you think of that? You may perhaps find it disappointing if you can’t apply it yourself for this one as I can. It feels weird to consider time as god. I don’t have proper reasoning for this truth be told because I don’t know why it feels weird. It just does. Let me think about it. Maybe it’s because it’s always been there and that you’ve never not been touched by it. This is the same as saying it’s just normal. Maybe it’s because you’re not used to the definition of god being time. Maybe it’s because nobody else does (this is not a reason for me but perhaps it is for you) and there’s already established doctrines that deal with god and not time so it goes against the norm. Or maybe you don’t see how it applies and think there’s a different god/concept of god than time. That is a fair point and I won’t try and sway you because that’s not the point of this post
Deism is the belief that only time exists, who created the universe, but does not usually intervene in the resulting world.
From what I’ve seen time does in fact influence the world but you can argue weakly that it doesn’t and is perhaps a byproduct of something greater. If you come to accept that time itself is god and that it stands by itself with nothing greater than it then this has direct influence on people’s lives. Not that there is any concrete support for one god or another. Likewise there’s no concrete support for there not being a god
Arguments about the existence of time typically include empirical, deductive, and inductive types. Different views include that: "Time does not exist" (strong atheism); "Time almost certainly does not exist" (de facto atheism); "no one knows whether Time exists" (agnosticism);[66] "Time exists, but this cannot be proven or disproven" (de facto theism); and that "Time exists and this can be proven" (strong theism).
Which definition if you see time for what it is seems more logical and reasonable? On a sidenote I don’t understand why they wrote in that theists believe in proof of god and not atheists believing in there being no proof for god. Belief in proof or lack of is not in the definition of the spectrum of atheism or theism. Absence of evidence isn’t evidence of absence. If you take time for god which viewpoint seems the most stupid?
Atheists often tout themselves as logical but in the context of time are they ignorant? Not even considering atheism as the modern contrarianism to religion it is. Can you really logically say that there’s proof for there not being a god? How does this proof not apply the same way for theism? It’s a logical contradiction to assume proof for one doesn’t automatically apply as proof the other way. Pascal’s wager is inherently a logical motivation to believe in god. I have yet to see a valid argument against Pascal’s wager. I’ve even seen one by Charles Dawkins that strawmans religion to the Abrahamic religions (Judaism, Christianity, and Islam), assumes you know what god does or how god works, and assumes you know what it would punish you for. His argument basically is that what if you believe in the wrong god instead of the right god? He then assumes it would punish for believing in the wrong god even though god itself is a concept not constrained to one religion and more often than not is found in most religions. Why is it that most if not every culture has a form of god? Pascal’s wager would motivate some but is that the real reason? What if it was the belief itself in there being a god that it cared about regardless of religion or specific anthropomorphism. An example of anthropomorphism for time is asking if there’s a human like being that pulls the strings of time? I say atheism is modern contrarianism because you can be religious and not believe in god but why don’t atheists have religion? Religion is an even more subjective definition than god. You can define it as morales, behaviour, community, ethics, and others without defining the need to believe in god. If it was really about god then why are they so opposed to religion instead of the concept? How many atheists do you know that tell you they’re atheist as if it means something or that you should know or care? How many theists do this? Which one is contrarian to historic thought? Religion was very powerful historically and you couldn’t commonly openly be atheist. If it is the most logical thing to fully not believe then why is it illogical to fully believe? The most logical stance you could take is that there’s no possible way to know and there could or couldn’t be a god. This is known as agnosticism and was something I converted to in high school from being an atheist. Truth be told I was an atheist because I didn’t really think into it. Pascal’s wager also wasn’t something I knew about unsurprisingly. If I was an atheist you’d be blatantly aware I was as the unsaid atheist is the least common atheist. I have a degree in physics and literally almost everything in physics is time dependent. Even something simple (relatively) but forms the foundation of physics is calculus and time derivatives/integrals. If you pray for something maybe through time you’ll get it.
The Manifestation of Time (Persian: مظهر ظهور‎ maẓhar ẓohūr) is a concept in  the Baháʼí Faith that refers to what are commonly called prophets. The Manifestations of Time are appearances of the Divine Spirit or Holy Spirit in a series of personages, and as such, they perfectly reflect the attributes of the divine into the human world for the progress and advancement of human morals and civilization through the agency of that same Spirit.
This is an anthropomorphism of god. Addressing it anyway. Every human experiences time and can make you think things you’d never think of yourself given enough time. Time gives us great people like Newton (who was a staunch christian) that advance civilization in significant ways. I don’t like the fact that he was a cantankerous christian because he’s like a modern atheist (argumentative) at that point. I bring it up because he had faith and I like that people can see god in things. Assume you believe in the times that I saw/see and that almost every time I look there’s a time that sways me. Even now the time quite literally is 6:46 am. Why did it lie to me about her? Do I lie a lot? What if that’s the personification of time in me. Am I anachronistic? Do I have traits that make me seem alien and not belonging to this time? I don’t think I’m a prophet but prophets usually last through time. Is Jesus a figure that transcends time? Even with this stretch of what time could be it still applies
https://really-makes-you-think.tumblr.com/post/658418323801899008/almost-didnt-post-this-why-would-i-delete-my
Time does not prove or disprove free will. You could be a droplet flowing with time and have no choice in the matter. Or maybe time blessed you with the ability to carve multiple paths through time and forging your own path and subsequent experiences through time. You can think about a decision you did/didn’t make at a certain time and this different decision would have major consequences through the time afterwards. Does this apply to any decision you make right now. Another way to say this is, is the future known? Time can span everything up until the present or it could span into the future. If it only spans up to the present assuming it spans at all that would be free will in context to time probably (this is open to interpretation). If it spans the future then free will isn’t a choice as it knows the decision you make and subsequent results that follow in time
With all this being said I quite literally hate time and couldn’t give a fuck if it disliked that or wanted to punish me for it. Fuck time for being so evil not only to me but others to (through me is a good reason too). I don’t like the concept of death and even giving birth and the experiences it can bring you doesn’t account for the death part of life. This is of course personal bias but I have thought about the concept of time as a god and can’t not think it as fitting the definition. I used to be spiritual quite literally then I realized what I was and felt how my life unfolded and now I’m not spiritual at least in the sense that I believe it’s on the side of being good. Time has not been nice to me
Interpretations of god are also dependent on time period (does time come up in other unrelated places?). The further you go back (in time) the more you notice polytheism was the norm (Greeks, Romans, Egyptians, Taoism, Shintoism, some forms of Hinduism, and more) with the latter 3 examples given still being practiced today. Religions then shifted to a single god with the most prominent being the Abrahamic religions which supplanted polytheism in some places like Rome when Constantine allowed religious freedom which allowed Christianity to take over. There are of course examples of religion that had monotheistic belief in older times but generally in Europe at least it was polytheism as the most popular belief then monotheism. I bring this up because since the invention of the transistor and resulting computers and technology we have from it (I think of this as the singularity) there has been thought movements into the universe being a simulation. I think this is the exact same interpretation as there being a god just with the viewpoint that computers and technology are incredibly powerful now. Powerful enough to even influence your thoughts on there being a god. I personally don’t like the simulation theory not because it’s a worse belief or anything but because I think it’s too influenced by modern technology. I also think the same of atheism (you can see my personal bias even though I was atheist) except I don’t like the idea of not having faith and how most atheists really tell you they’re atheists. Do people who believe in the simulation do this too? If they do I haven’t noticed it to the same degree. Truth be told I also dislike atheists because they’re illogical to take proof of anything and how they are logical pseuds (at least in my opinion, logic is subjective). I relatively enjoy the simulation as its a neat novel concept especially compared to something so empty as atheism. Also another reason I brought this up is people can nonironically think of time as god but I don’t think this will catch on
If there’s one thing you should take away from this post it’s that you should respect time. The most recent example I have (I have many regrets) is that I didn’t respect time so my browser crashed and I lost everything I had written about it. I even thought about posting it and then editing it later but didn’t do it even though it was safer and more logical to post it (in the case of time fucking you). Time can crush you if you take it for granted as you’ll never get it back. Like your family can die at any given time not including dying of old age and opportunities you had but lost to time. Is a philosophy given through respecting god an inherently bad thing? Is most religion benevolent? Is time benevolent? This is open to your interpretation as is respecting time. I will say that even though I despise time I still respect it
1:17 pm 21/09/13
“Intellectual historian Peter Watson has summarized this period as the foundation time of many of humanity's most influential philosophical traditions, including monotheism in Persia and Canaan, Platonism in Greece, Buddhism and Jainism in India, and Confucianism and Taoism in China. These ideas would become institutionalized in time –”

10 Japanese Sports Cars That Are A Breeze To Maintain | HotCars
Tumblr media
Japan has been the epicenter of business and technological innovation for most of the final half-century, even the Japanese vehicles have changed the world . Taking world by storm with their capability to manufacture goods in high quantity without sacrificing durability ushered in a main paradigm shift in what was anticipated from an automobile.
RELATED: These Are One of the most Gorgeous Sports Cars Ever Made
While many vehicle companies hedged their bets around the consumer making their vehicle buy based on looks or power, The japanese thought otherwise. Placing their concentrate on simplicity, efficiency, and longevity. Characteristics that garnered an overwhelmingly good response by the market, along the way making some of the most exciting machines upon four wheels . Here are ten Japanese sports cars that are really easy to maintain.
10 Honda Prelude
Tumblr media
Via stancespice. com
The particular Honda Prelude was the more trendy sports car of the Honda line-up, and yes it matured into the belle of the basketball over the years. The fifth and final generation, introduced in 1996 plus discontinued in 2001, looks like a good angular and mature version from the Integra. Residing under the hood was obviously a 2 . 2-liter inline 4 VTEC engine.
Tumblr media
Via pinterest. possuindo
Good for two hundred horsepower, the Prelude had simply no trouble putting all that power straight down around the bends with its independent suspension system. With plenty of room under the cover to access parts, this car will certainly spend more time on the road than in the garage area.
9 Toyota Celica
Tumblr media
Via carspecsguru. com
The Celica any of Toyota's longest-running sports vehicles with an impressive racing history. The particular legendary Supra can trace the lineage back to the early Celicas once the Celica Supra was introduced in 1979. Thereafter, the Celica branched off to forge its own heritage, being Toyota's World Move Championship entry in the past due 80s to early 90s.

Winning the constructor's name for two consecutive years in 1993 and 1994 with the Celica GT-Four. The A60 Celica, available through 1981 to 1985, was the final generation to have rear-wheel drive. To get a great sporty feel, with Toyota reliability and user-friendliness.
8 Honda CRX
Tumblr media
Through hagerty. com
The CRX was introduced within 1984 as a sportier Civic, discussing the same drivetrain. This car has already established a cult following for its gentle and nimble characteristics. The second era, introduced in 1988, had gone by way of a major update.
Tumblr media

Striking dealerships with four-wheel double wishbone suspension, cutting edge even by modern-day standards. The aftermarket parts list is vast, sharing parts with this of the Civic. In addition , being very easy to work on that there are plenty of house mechanics that have swapped in later on year B and K-series motors.
7 Toyota Cressida
Tumblr media
Via bestcarmag. com
At first glance, the Cressida doesn't scream sports car. Hitting United states shores in 1976, it was Toyota's luxury, family saloon before the introduction of the Lexus brand. Following that will familiar sports sedan formulation of big straight-6 motor sending power to the rear wheels.
Tumblr media
Via thedailystar. net
The X80 Cressida, constructed between 1988 and 1995, had been the last ones to be offered in The united states. And it went out with a bang, discussing the same 1JZ engine found in tag III Supra, making it a legitimate system for drifters on a budget. This car tire shredder is known to be very easy to set up performance parts at home.
6 Nissan 200SX
Tumblr media
Through reddit. com
The S12 200SX has flown under the radar for some time. Found in American showrooms from 1984 to 1988 with an optional 1 . 8-liter turbo charge engine, the CA18ET. Later years might be found with the naturally aspirated V-6 found in the Z31 300ZXs.
Tumblr media
Via wikimedia. org
5 Honda Civic SI (EP3)
Tumblr media
Via motorverso. com
