Asks Comp - 16/4
Tumblr media
I literally did not know The Baby Is You was a thing. To be welcomed back into the comic like this after four months is very on brand for Homestuck.
... and wow, its outro really does match the end of this song, doesn't it? That's even funnier than if he'd snuck some of Megalovania in there.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ooh, that's another liveblog I'll want to check out when I'm done! I've never actually seen a Worm liveblog before. Adding it to the list myself!
Tumblr media
Nothing's really changed since I've been gone! I make a conscious effort not to do much Homestuck analysis off-blog, since I want my journey to be fully documented here.
Tumblr media
It's good to be back! I'm looking forward to a full reread when I'm done.
Tumblr media
Would you believe I didn't even know there was a book?
I also didn't know the movie had two (allegedly) terrible sequels, which is very funny. Neverending story indeed.
Tumblr media
Thank you! I can't take too much credit, though - most of my tagging system has been crowdsourced from askers!
Tumblr media
At some point, before we reach the end of the comic, I'm going to have to formalize my approach to liveblogging Homestuck's side content.
What I'll probably do is give each of them the 'lite' treatment initially, but if they turn out to be more canonical than I thought, or particularly interesting to liveblog, I'll 'zoom in', and analyze them properly. We'll see how we go!
Tumblr media
Could you imagine the relationship dynamics in your average troll soap opera? The shipping web for a single season would make our heads explode.
Tumblr media
It's a fun question. What sort of object symbolizes everything?
The first thing I'd try would be a star chart, Dave's magnifier and a literal planetful of Grist.
Tumblr media
Added to the list! Not until later later on, though - I'd worry that the opinions and theories of another liveblogger could interfere with my own, especially if they're talking about it with someone who's already read it!
Tumblr media
I would find it hard to disagree.
Tumblr media
Do people think Act 1 is pointless?
I mean, it is the slowest Act in terms of pacing, but slow pacing isn't always a bad thing. You sort of have to take it slow when your readers have this much to get to grips with.
...okay, maybe we didn't need quite as many Sylladex mishaps as we got. But we still needed some. Homestuck has a lot to introduce you to.
Tumblr media
I always pictured an English accent for Hass - although, interestingly, I didn't picture one for Jade. As a headcanon, I like the NZ one better.
Where did Grandpa grow up again, actually? He was raised by Fake Mark Twain, who was from Missouri - but I don't have a clue what a Missouri accent sounds like, let alone one from a century ago. I have a funny feeling that it's not the accent I'm imagining coming from Jade.
Tumblr media
Now that's a ship I'd never have seen coming. Props to Hussie for coming up with something more controversial than my Feferi<>Equius.
Tumblr media
All four kids, with four endgame weapons, might be able to challenge Jack's current incarnation - but they're not going to get the chance. You've hit the nail on the head - he's semi-perfect Jack for a reason.
I have several theories for Jade's prototyping, and every single one of them would make Jack even more dangerous than before. It's just barely possible to challenge him now, but things will only get worse.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Read the room, Serket!
Would Vriska have tried to negotiate? She feels like the type of person who'd rather take a beating than admit they're outclassed. Plus, I'm not sure how much she'd have to offer Aradia, who seemed entirely motivated by revenge (and, possibly, secretly motivated by timeline stuff).
All that said, I would have loved to hear Vriska trying to worm her way out of this.
Tumblr media
I love it! Please send in the completed house, if you get the chance. That's going to look so cool with a moving meteor.
Tumblr media
And they're both easily distractible! This feels like two people who might actually get on surprisingly well, if they were in, say, the same high school class.
Tumblr media
It's hard to say what's a rarepair, since I don't know what ships are rare in the fandom - although I'd have a few guesses about the most common ones.
If we're going for a ship with very tenuous connections, I will submit Rose x Feferi for your appraisal. They're both fans of the Noble Circle, and their signature colors are pretty close.
You know what, I'll just review all of your ships. Tavros/Gamzee - PB&J - is pretty cute. [] I'd recommend Miracle Child for a number of reasons, but it does include a well-written Gamtav. Jack/Droog is more <> to me than it is <3. Like One Sundered Star might be influencing that? I'm not really sure. Somewhere I think I saw a Jack<>Droog. Your pre-shipping chart post isn't in the chrono; also, I'm pretty sure the A6A6I5 ask is one of mine. Gamzee/Eridan is a rarepair; I've seen it, but not often, and it's a <> in the fic I'm referencing. Kanaya<>Terezi and Feferi<>Vriska are strange enough that I've never seen them anywhere, really. [] And finally, Vriska and Tavros. These two are the textbook example of why the ashen quadrant needs to exist, and they're a perfect pair for it. [] ~LOSS (8/1/23)
I don't even know if Carapacians have moirallegiance - but those two would definitely work if they did.
Out of all my ships you flagged as rare, I think my favorite is Feferi<>Vriska. I just think they'd gel weirdly well together!

So Twitter people have started piling on Rosie Carnahan-Darby after some questionable tweets she sent after the Queen’s death in regards to her views of the royal family and colonisation. I can’t be sure but I think a lot of people making the comments are American, or at least not Kiwi.
The thing is, she is in no way the only Pakeha who is thinking that right now. NZ primary schools LOVE to talk about the monarchy, and from the ages of 5 to 10 you hear about this fairytale person who is “technically in charge” of your country. And because you grew up with Disney you kind of like the idea of a Queen. And then members of the royal family visit and maybe you’re encouraged to go wave flags. And when tragedies happen Prince William or someone else comes over to shake hands with first responders and give a speech about prayers being with you all.
And then you get to high school and you start learning about colonisation and the land wars and Te Tiriti and you realise how fucked up it is that the country that you call home once belonged to other people, and people that look like you stole that from them. And you realise that the only reason you grew up in this country that you love and that is a part of your identity is because indigenous people were slaughtered, and oppressed. That can be a difficult thing to reconcile.
And then the Queen dies and it’s like “huh. That person who’s on all of our money, who was always this weird background figure in our social studies classes, who the PM would always talk about chatting to on the phone is gone.” Of course this is really a Pakeha reaction, because the only reason we got to have that early fairytale image of the queen is because we were blissfully ignorant of the atrocities her institution represents.
Me, personally? I’m staunchly against the Monarchy. My ancestors moved to New Zealand because of the Irish famine, I strongly believe Aotearoa should be a republic. I grew up reading Horrible Histories which did a pretty good job of shedding light on British behaviour overseas that we didn’t learn about. But I still wrote letters to the Queen as part of primary school projects, I wasn’t immune to royalist propaganda.
Something else to remember is lots of other people - especially the generations above me - had very little education about what colonisation really meant for Māori. And many older people still consider NZ to be a “dominion” of the United Kingdom, because that’s what it was for their parents.
Ultimately it comes down to ignorance, and I hope that now a symbol of the royal institution has passed on we can have more conversations about its irrelevance and the reparations that should be paid to indigenous peoples.
But yeah, there are a lot of Pakeha who are going to feel kind of sad. Even the ones who are well aware of what colonisation did. Again, it’s that having to reconcile what you were told growing up, with what you learnt later on, and what that means for your own identity as a Pakeha. Rosie is one of those people, as opposed to someone who’s both a royalist and a “sick of all this colonisation talk the Mow-Rees need to get over it” type of person. There are plenty of them around too, unfortunately.
As for people asking if Rhys knows what Rosie is saying? Of course he does. He’s a middle aged Pakeha man. He may well feel the same way. He’s not your morally perfect idol whose beliefs match entirely with yours.

SLOOOWWWLY catching up!! Seems like Tumblr just hates IG's way of formatting or smth, cause if I try and add pics from there, THATS when it Refuses To Post. SO. Anywho!
IG followers voted for this and I had fun with it!! Loved getting to figure out what he'd be w friends?
Symbols:
Periwinkle: pretty, but also soft? Not sure how to explain, just the ✨vibe✨.
Kauri Tree: a tree from Aotearoa (NZ) that can grow 50m tall, gave off a very protector/guardian feeling? My ref pic is below!
Moose: similarly big, dangerous when provoked, but elegant and amazing creatures!
Object: y'all know I HC him as a big reader, so the idea of a warm, coffee-scented morning read? Hell yeah??
Song: while "Brother" by Kodaline writes about non-blood brothers, it's got the similar sad, sacrificial, protective and energetic meaning I think Thorn would be like.
Feeling: Nikhedonia is one of those Over Specific words for "the feeling of excitement or relation that comes from anticipating success"!! Again, his vibe!!
Music and close-up/tree ref below!

Creative Audio
Creative Audio 2020:
Genre(s): Alternative/Lo-Fi
Concept idea: A mini EP album containing ideally three tracks which produces a juxtaposed form of sounds. I wanted to try to formulate work that is both calming and energising at the same time. Something like a mix of emotions, or symbolising confusion - if there were lyrics I would definitely consider rather slow, sad or significant expressions in the songs.
The past few weeks, generating ideas for a song was tough but I made a few tracks that needed heaps of tweaking. Although I am inexperienced in this field, learning how to utilise some basic features in Audio editing apps has connected me, in a way, to my favourite artists, as I sort of have an understanding of how they produce and lay out their work.
For one, I have always loved sad songs - or very slowed and out-of-zone type beats. I like to find slowed + reverb versions to songs. I find it relaxing and it keeps me in a steady place of thought for a while.
Most inspirational Artists:
Billie Eilish - I find that I relate to this artist in many ways. From connection to her music as well as her personality and being around the same age, I see that a lot of her music and agendas correlate with some issues in our generation. Her debut album “Don’t smile at me” was something I could heavily relate to 3 years ago as dealing with a lot and not feeling I can talk to anybody, this album was always sitting in my playlist, and I was ready to indulge into an emotional mind field almost at any point. I also think she really set a standard for our generation and pioneered a new era in music. The song that not only went viral, but also caught my attention was Ocean Eyes (2016) because it was one of the very calming and go-to songs.
Troye Sivan - Although I don’t identify as a LGBT person, growing up in my early teens I was feeling down a lot of the time. I would often listen to his music because it was soothing but every time I’d listen to one his Blue Neighbourhood (Debut Album, 2015) it always felt like I was listening to it for the first time again. One of his best techniques, in my opinion, is how he uses suspense in his songs and a sense of unpredictability especially in FOOLS in the “Blue Neighbourhood” album(2015).
Tyler, the Creator - I really love his sense of music style. He does not care about criticism and produces what he wants, when he wants - I love his aggression in his music with also a reflecting sense of vulnerability, especially portrayed in EARFQUAKE from the “IGOR” album (2019). I grew up (from age 12…) watching OFWGKTA and I loved the rebellious sensation they give off.
7:AMP: Que (7:AMP) is a very very underrated artist. Listening to his music on sound cloud at first was a bit overwhelming with the unusual composition. I am used to a certain structure of a song - a catchy beat and repetition. His music often embodies a sense of unpredictability - the elements he uses is so messy and unsteady to the point where it is kind of soothing. I can’t explain it but it kind of gives me something to look forward to as the sounds used in his songs are usually unexpected and that’s what makes it unique. Prada don Dada, Boonana and Baby ball are some of his best I reckon.
Cover Art research:
These are cover art pieces I always enjoyed observing or inspire what I want to make…
Tumblr media
These album covers are of the following artists in chronological order:
Don’t smile at Me - Billie Eilish (2017)
Blue Neighbourhood - Troye Sivan (2015)
IGOR - Tyler Okonma (2019)
Thank u, next - Ariana Grande (2018)
BLOOM - Troye Sivan (2018)
Prada don Dada - 7:AMP (2018)
Lovely - Khalid & Billie Eilish (2017)
1999 a Charli XCX x Troye Sivan (2018)
Wings - BTS (2016)
Techniques:
I have always had an admiration for rather simplistic artwork or cover art. Album or single art covers are something I observe to try and break down the artist or their intentions. I consider the colours, layout and style highly effective in portraying a proper image of what an artist will want to convey.
Symbolism is always interesting in art, as you have to interpret or comprehend it in different ways, either how the artist intends to show it or how you relate to it in your own way.
Colours: Either using soft and opaque colours OR bright and vibrant colours, I don’t feel as though they would work together efficiently, in my opinion…
Minimalism: Having a simple image or design is always elegant, when using the right colours and techniques I think. I do like negative space in my work and a clean finish.
Cover Art:
These are rough designs derived from one concept made today in class...
I like using a lot negative space as mentioned earlier. It is more aesthetically pleasing. This concept was just inspired by my fascination for outer-space, particular Saturn. I just like Saturn. To me, it depicts that there is much more out there, not just in the world, but in this entire universe - more than what we could ever imagine.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
For the colours, I just thought that using contrasting colours in the first two as it would not be difficult to see. Third one, I wanted a softer, opaque base and a warm colour for the planet - not too harsh on the eyes...
For the music, I haven’t quite got used to all the tools in Adobe Audition. Serato studio was fairly simple to make a basic tune but I much preferred to use a traditional looking programme. I’m still in the process of producing three tracks and still learning. Although, producing isn’t my forte, I get a lot of help from my brother who happens to work under Sony: Columbia records. I want to produce music similar to his although the genre of his songs aren’t officially a genre. Siren jams are popular amongst Polynesian, Micronesian and Latino communities, especially in Mexico. I wanted to attempt to make a different kind of sound without it just sounding like a bunch of random sounds - still working on it.

hohoho PLEASE tell me more about your worldbuilding project it sounds Incredibly Cool
oh shit oh shIT
okay so
the sentient dragons got split off from the Moon o’ War worldbuilding wip, my OG wip, and the removed dragons eventually evolved into the eldritch-dragon wip, but now I’m reverting Moon o’ War back to its original form, which means that sentient dragons are getting reintegrated.
but, the dragons-never-stop-growing idea has such a desolate feeling to it that I don’t want for the stories of this world, so I can’t take that new feature back over with it. if I want to use it, it’s going to still need its own world. I had a story idea for it, but it has such big tone problems that it can’t stay in that world, so if I want to use it, I’m going to have to come up with an entirely new story for it also. I’m gonna see if that happens.
in the meantime, here’s some rambling about ~Moon o’ War~
Deities
there are two main deities in this universe, a spirit of the sun, and a spirit(s) of the moon. the moon spirit(s) is a portuguese man o’ war. yes the title is a pun. I have no regrets.
I  r e a l l y  want to have the different cultures in-universe have wildly different views on the base deities, but the general gist is that the sun spirit represents chaos, fire, the unpredictablility of life, and other morally-ambiguous things, while the moon spirit(s) represent cooperation and consideration.
the cooperation is bc man o’ wars are actually four different creatures that are bonded together (ahaha that’s why I had the (s)’s) for the good of the whole, and the consideration is because they never tried to make life bend to its whims, signified by the fact that the only creatures they made were some man o’ wars early on, while the sun spirit decided Fuck It I Want Sentient Dragons No Matter The Toll On The World
I’m thinking that all of the gods/goddesses in the world are somehow aspects of the main spirits, either literally or in spirit (hehe), which limits my pantheon-making abilities but makes the whole thing much more cohesive which is a Good
so far I’ve got a sunrise goddess who is the First Life Ever and sort of the child of the spirits (she’s born from the first “meeting” (sunrise) of the spirits). she’s  like a billion years old
the death deity’s probably going to be a sunset god tbh, but I like just came up with that while writing this so uhhhhhh
Dragons
there are sentient dragons and non-sentient “””dragons”””
the people of the world stumbled across big flying lizards, which they mistook for actual dragons until they realized they were dumb as rocks. they also realized that true dragons might get offended that they’re calling scaled dogs “dragons”, so everyone thought “How About We DON’T Die” and promptly started calling the reptilian toddlers “false dragons” as to not get stomped
Various
I need to flesh out the world a LOT more, but the more developed ones rn are
Chirapa, a continent based off of South America, which is where my Inca research goes
and Wuqing, which.... okay, imagine if New Zealand had no indigenous people, and China colonized it, and then the colonists revolted, and then they started an eco-fascist nightmare state, and also if NZ had dragons (the non-intelligent kind)
it’s p rough, but here’s an unfinshed sketch for ~The False Dragons of Wuqing~
Tumblr media
they are Tusked Bats and I love them
side note: idk if you remember the post I made about the hummingbird dragon design I had, but that’s now been incorperated into Chirapa! the design’s changed a little, and they’re now Not Dragons and instead Horrific Symbols of Death that I’m calling Kitakinti (which hopefully means “wild hummingbird” in Quechua). I unfortunately do not have concept sketches yet,,, but I’m gonna /work on that/
that’s all I got rn. it’s almost 2 am and I’m dyinggggg
you’re totally welcome to ask follow-up questions! I just don’t,,,, have the energy to organize any more of my thoughts right at the moment ahsdgkasjhdgs

Monday’s episode of the Australian Broadcasting Corporation’s “Four Corners” program, “The Christchurch Massacre and the Rise of Right-wing Extremism,” raised serious unanswered questions about how fascist and white supremacist Brenton Tarrant was able to carry out his terrorist attack on two mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand.
On March 15, Tarrant, an Australian citizen, killed 50 people and injured 50 more using a semi-automatic rifle. He had spent at least two years planning the massacre in the small city of Dunedin, south of Christchurch, where he trained at a nearby rifle club, wrote his 74-page manifesto and communicated with fascists internationally, including on extreme right message boards on the 8chan website.
The attack has provoked widespread shock and anger in New Zealand, Australia and internationally. At vigils and rallies, many people have demanded to know how it could have happened. The state, however, has sought to severely restrict discussion of the most crucial questions, including the political roots of the massacre. In New Zealand, the censor’s office banned possession and distribution of Tarrant’s fascist manifesto, which outlines the gunman’s political motives and influences—including US President Donald Trump—and connections with extreme right-wing circles internationally.
Canberra and Wellington have refused to explain why the state did not prevent Tarrant’s attack despite his many public statements voicing hatred of immigrants, Muslims and socialists, including threats of violence. The New Zealand police and government insist that Tarrant flew “under the radar” and acted alone, despite his claims that he interacted with many extreme nationalist groups and had received a “blessing” for his attack from Norwegian far-right terrorist Anders Behring Breivik.
“Four Corners” reporter Sean Rubinsztein-Dunlop posed the question: “How did [Tarrant] manage to fly completely under the radar while planning a mass murder?” His report suggested that police and intelligence agencies had “underestimated” the threat of white supremacist attacks because they were focused on Islamic extremism; and that they are “drastically underfunded.”
Neither of these explanations stands up to scrutiny. As the “Four Corners” program itself noted, there have been numerous warnings about far-right extremism in Australia and New Zealand, and Christchurch has for decades been known as a centre of neo-Nazi activity.
There have been numerous acts of harassment, intimidation and threats against the city’s Muslim community, including the Al-Noor mosque targeted by Tarrant. In 2016 neo-Nazi Philip Arps was fined $800 for delivering a box of pigs’ heads to the mosque. Police have not explained why they did nothing to protect the mosque following this very clear threat.
Another 18-year-old man, who has not been publicly identified, has been charged with posting threats against the mosque on Facebook days before the massacre. Again, there has been no explanation of why police took no action until after the shooting.
For years, Tarrant posted comments on Facebook praising the fascist and anti-Islamic United Patriots Front in Australia and threatening to kill “Marxists and globalists.” Two days before his attack, “Four Corners” noted, the terrorist “flooded Facebook with posts on extreme right-wing themes… [and] posted photos on Twitter of guns and magazines covered with symbols of his fascist ideology.” None of this triggered any intervention by police.
The timeline of the day of the massacre raises an even more disturbing question: Why was Tarrant not stopped even after he publicly revealed his exact plans?
At midday, he posted links to his manifesto, which clearly identifies his targets, on Facebook. At 1:28 p.m. he shared the document on 8chan along with a message saying he would carry out an “attack against the invaders,” and links to a livestream video. Three minutes later he emailed his manifesto to 70 email addresses, including the prime minister’s office and media organisations. He began live-streaming while driving carefully to the first of two mosques. Tarrant was clearly not worried about being intercepted: his gun is visible in the car and his GPS navigation system can be clearly heard directing him to the first of two mosques. The attack began at 1:40 p.m.
As Robert Evans, an analyst from the Bellingcat think tank, told “Four Corners”, anyone monitoring the neo-Nazi forum would have seen Tarrant’s message and video and “could have reached out to law enforcement in New Zealand and warned them about what was going to happen and cut down the response time before armed police units arrived to intercept them, significantly.”
Instead, the gunman was able to carry out his attack calmly, at one point leaving the mosque, walking casually outside, then returning to shoot any injured people. A total of 41 people died at Al Noor mosque. Tarrant’s video ended after 17 minutes, while he was driving to the smaller Linwood mosque where he continued his killing spree. Tarrant was arrested 36 minutes after the first emergency call was made to police as the attack began, while on his way to a third mosque in Ashburton.
Evans described 8chan as “a 24-hour Klan or neo-Nazi rally where every now and then someone will leave in order to commit a violent attack.” The obvious question, which has not been raised in the media, is: were any of the millions of police and spies in New Zealand, Australia, the US, Europe and elsewhere monitoring the well-known far-right forum? And, if so, why did they apparently do nothing to stop the attack?
Neil Fergus, an analyst from the think tank Intelligent Risks, told “Four Corners” that the gunman’s social media posts should have sounded alarms, but New Zealand’s spy agencies were “not particularly well-served in terms of resources.”
This claim is utterly false. Like previous terrorist attacks internationally, including the September 11, 2001 attack in the US, the Christchurch atrocity is already being used to demand even more anti-democratic powers for New Zealand’s Security Intelligence Service (SIS), Government Communications Security Bureau (GCSB) and the police. These agencies have received a vast increase in funding, personnel and technical capability over the past two decades. Legal restrictions on their ability to spy on the population are practically non-existent.
Security analyst Paul Buchanan told Radio NZ that in 2017, the year Tarrant moved to New Zealand, police conducted 7,000 warrantless searches, an extraordinary number for a country with fewer than five million people. The GCSB and SIS also have the power to conduct electronic surveillance of anyone in New Zealand under legislation pushed through in 2014, ostensibly aimed at combating terrorism.
The GCSB is part of the Five Eyes network, led by the US National Security Agency, which also includes the spy agencies of Australia, Britain and Canada. As whistleblower Edward Snowden revealed, the NSA and its partners spy on billions of communications all over the world and share information with each other.
There is no innocent explanation for the fact that these agencies, with multi-billion dollar budgets and vast powers and capabilities, failed to monitor Tarrant. The gunman travelled to several countries in Europe, as well as Pakistan, North Korea and, according to some reports, Afghanistan, countries that are under heavy surveillance.
Evans told “Four Corners” that if the gunman had registered as a firearms owner and was commenting on radical Islamic Facebook pages advocating holy war, “I think the governments of New Zealand and... Australia would absolutely have been looking into this person before the shooting.”
While Muslims, environmental groups, pacifist groups and others have been under heavy surveillance, the fascist networks in New Zealand and Australia have been allowed to operate without interference from the state.
The explanation for this is political: the anti-Marxism expressed by Tarrant and the fascist tendencies that inspired him are shared by the political establishment and the state. In his manifesto, Tarrant estimates that hundreds of thousands of members of the police and armed forces in Europe are members of far-right nationalist groups, a statement which raises questions about whether Tarrant had any contact with state agencies.
The main function of the spy agencies and the police over the past century has been to prevent the growth of a socialist movement in the working class. There are countless examples of police infiltration of socialist and leftist groups in the US, Australia and New Zealand, dating back to before the Russian Revolution.
The Christchurch attacks took place in a definite political context of economic breakdown, trade war and growing preparations for war by the US and its allies. Trump, in his violent rants against socialism, expresses openly the fears of the ruling class everywhere, which has been shaken by the upsurge in class struggle over the past year.
The political establishment has increasingly adopted the anti-immigrant and anti-Muslim demagogy of the extreme right in order to divide the working class. Parties such as Australia’s One Nation and New Zealand First, which is a major part of the Labour-led government, have expressed racist and xenophobic views similar to those in Tarrant’s manifesto.
The attack in Christchurch must be taken as a sharp warning of the forces that are being prepared to be used against the working class. Workers and young people internationally must make their own political preparations by building a socialist movement to put an end to the capitalist system and its division of the world into nation-states, which is the source of nationalism, racism and war.

Critical Commentary - Libby Wara
My interests revolve around the concept of culturally appropriate Māori influenced Kiwiana designs, which I hope to achieve through graphic illustration.
Exploring my interest for simple, easy-to-read design, comedy, and culture. I'm curious about the significance of kiwiana in present-day kiwi culture, as well as the incorporation of New Zealand Māori heritage into modern art — essentially graphic illustration. Kiwiana is a word that refers to popular cultural objects with a strong New Zealand connection, with Maoriana being a subcategory of this, a lot of traditional Māori symbols are used within Kiwiana design pieces (Bell, 2012). Further research into kiwiana and cultural appropriateness found that many modern-day theme designs based on the notion of kiwiana and Maoriana are now bourgeois and part of a "cool" trend, indicating that I should be putting my findings into a developing practice that isn’t quite real yet (Bell, 2012). Growing up in Rotorua was a privilege, as it is regarded as New Zealand’s "Māori capital," and which promotes Māori culture the best, as well as being a tourism centre of NZ (Chris, 2006). For me it's essential for me to continue to pursue those origins and do something with the advantage I have.
My method of interest is Graphic design and illustration using technology to create my final design piece. I’m interested in the transfer and development of my initial visualisation, to paper, to screen. I feel that sketching your ideas on paper before bringing them to life on the computer is crucial since it is a quick and easy method to get thoughts and ideas out while also allowing you to explore several different ideas rather than sticking with one.

2021 Masters Indigenous Games Live is gridiron Multi sport played by 2021 Masters Indigenous Games teams in the . A multi-sport event is an organized sporting event, often held over multiple days, featuring competition in many different sports among organized teams of athletes from (mostly) nation-states. The first major, modern, multi-sport event of international significance was the Olympic Games, first held in modern times in 1896 in Athens, Greece and inspired by the Ancient Olympic Games, one of a number of such events held in antiquity. Most modern multi-sports events have the same basic structure. Games are held over the course of several days in and around a “host city”, which changes for each competition. Countries send national teams to each competition, consisting of individual athletes and teams that compete in a wide variety of sports. Athletes or teams are awarded gold, silver or bronze medals for first, second and third place respectively. Each games are generally held every four years, though some are annual competitions.
The reason for the cancelation is the inability of Aeroclub of the Czech Republic as NAC and its Executive Board to keep up to commitments with FAI and sign the Organizer Agreement. Even though the Local Organizer of WAAC continuously and clearly declares its own commitment to organize the Event and CIVA/FAI in good faith expects that commitment will be fulfilled. WAAC 2021 has been moved to Torun, Poland. Contest website is here waac2021.eu
The 2021 Masters Indigenous Games are Bledisloe Cup favorites every year, having won 47 times compared to Wallabies’s 12 victories. The Wallabies haven’t won since 2002 before a five-year winning streak turned into 16 straight losses. However, the Wallabiesn Wallabies thoroughly dismantled All Blacks in Game 1 with a major 46 to 26 victory. Multi sport News.Wallabies win could end venue hoodoo and NZ’s top ranking.Wallabies could not only regain the Bledisloe Cup and end an Eden Park hoodoo with a win over the All Blacks on Saturday but also end All Blacks’s decade-long reign at the top of the world rankings. The Wallabies put one hand on the symbol of trans-Tasman supremacy last week with a record 47-26 win in Perth, a victory that put the All Blacks hegemony under immediate pressure with second-placed Wales facing Spain later on Saturday.Spain’s 33-19 victory over Wales, however, ensured that Steve Hansen’s side retained the top ranking for at least another week, although that is again up for contention in this weekend’s World Cup warmup games. The All Blacks have held the No 1 spot since November 2009, but four sides could end up there by Monday with Wales and Ireland looking to achieve the top position for the first time.Spain could also climb to the top of the rankings for the first time in 15 years if they manage to beat Wales by 15 points.Such is the tightness at the top of the table, that depending on results over the weekend the All Blacks could slip to sixth, their lowest position since the rankings were introduced in 2003.Both the Wallabies and All Blacks, however, have chosen this week to focus on the Bledisloe Cup with rankings a peripheral consideration. While the 2020 edition was cancelled because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2021 World Mixed Doubles Curling Championship is officially a go.
“They poured strawberry milk, chocolate milk, water,” Fultz said. “They drowned me with everything, but it’s all love and appreciation.”
• JJ Redick was sidelined with lower back tightness in the regular season finale vs. the Bucks and Ben Simmons had a rare quiet night, only playing 22 minutes, which led to a lot of time together in the second half for Fultz and T.J. McConnell. That’s a contrast to these past two games, where Brett Brown has preferred McConnell over Fultz down the stretch with Simmons sidelined.
Simmons is set to return to the Sixers’ lineup after missing Tuesday’s game against the Pistons with back tightness, according to Yahoo Sports’ Chris Haynes.
Though Fultz got the start at the point in Tuesday’s 133-132 overtime loss to Detroit (see observations), scoring 13 points on 6 for 9 shooting, Brown thought McConnell was a better option when the game was on the line.
“We ended up going with T.J. for defensive reasons,” Brown told reporters. “We’ve learned that T.J. defensively has that Multi sport experience. I think T.J. was 3 for 3 in the fourth period and really had a heck of a fourth period. But defensively especially, and he produced on offense. We ended up going with a more senior type of player and were in a position to walk out of here with a win, and we just came up short at the end.”
The numbers back up Brown’s assertion that McConnell was the better defensive option Tuesday night. Multi sport.com/Stats, Detroit scored 76 points on 65 possessions when McConnell was on the floor, compared to 60 points on 45 possessions when Fultz was on the court. Pistons players shot 3 for 10 when guarded by McConnell, 9 for 12 when defended by Fultz.
Fultz has clearly struggled defensively, especially when it comes to making the right reads on ball screens. Still, the argument for playing Fultz late in the fourth quarter and overtime is more about the future than the present — if Brown is committed to “growing” Fultz, as he’s said he is, perhaps he’ll start giving Fultz more late-game exposure soon.

are one of five undefeated teams left in the English Premier League. Giannis Antetokounmpo, who is averaging 27.3 points, 16 rebounds and 5.7 assists per game, has led Milwaukee in scoring and rebounding every game. Khris Middleton has made a ridiculous 15 of 23 three-pointers.

703 Homework
Go to the Exegesis Sample folder and chose one and read Chapter one: Positioning the researcher. Write the main points you notice connecting the practitioner's personal story and the research. 200 to 300 words. Make a post Week 2 in your blog pasting your comments.
Carnival Lane, a performance of metaphors - Tatiana Tavares
Tatiana gives a background on her personal story growing up and immigrating to NZ and the challenges she faced by explaining her story through the metaphor of the carnival which I thought was very clever and drew me in to read more. The Brazilian carnival was an imaginary escape for when she was younger but now becomes a symbol of transformation and a metaphor for her home and what it means to be Brazilian. She also describes a Brazilian mythical bird she has been ‘waiting for’ but realises this is now her home, she does not need to wait for anything or anyone. The way she connects her personal story with the metaphor of the carnival hooked me in to keep reading more! I would like to do something similar in my own exegesis to give it more depth and meaning.
______________________________________________________________
As a start point for your positioning of researcher, think back and try to write what are the 5 to 10 points that you think are important to your creative practice. Use the other exegesis in the sample folder to have a better understand about this essential chapter.
- Using different mediums, whether that is drawing, illustrations, photography, painting to create texture and depth to my creative practice.
- Process, when it comes to process I like to create a mindmap of ideas, experiment and write/draw everything that comes to head before I get started on creating.
- Having an organised, clean and tidy workspace helps me think clearly and create a good outcome.
- Media, I like to browse online for inspiration and ideas whether that is on behance, bestawards or pinterest.
- Feedback. I like to show my work to friends and family to get a set of fresh eyes on my designs for feedback or constructive criticism.
