Intervention 2:

Taking Up Space : An Experimental Pop Up Solo Exhibition

The idea is to take my paintings to the ping pong tables where you enter CSM and see if anyone walking by asks questions to get to know the artists in the community better, how easily artists can make themselves seen, how people react to the change in the environment, if they engage with the art or not, and see if artists can take up public spaces without getting sent home… (not selling the art )

Learning to take up space

As a woman, one of the greatest lessons I have had to unlearn is one of being "too much". I am now able to hold the little girl inside of me that kept silent. For too long I have remained silent when it came to communicating my needs, or asserting my boundaries. I would fear the label of being clingy when what I truly desire is a healthy sense of security and love. Due to internalized misogyny my boundaries were often nonexistent, I did not feel like I was allowed to have them more or less speak up when I felt uncomfortable with something. As a woman I am coming into my personal power more and more each day. Learning to move through the world and take up space, unapologetically. I am a woman. I am so much, not too much.
