How about this: SEES are fine with babysitting one or the other when it comes to Ren and Riku, but when they have to babysit the two of them at once... There's a lot of fear.

OK YES YES I LOVE THIS!!!! So I have a few thoughts so I’ll do my best to organize them here:

So I was thinking first off that like Rumi, Takuto and Ren all live in Port Island? Rumi was there because she wanted to be close to her half sister and Takuto maybe for research things? And that’s where they met say.

Sometimes Rumi and Takuto are busy and they obviously need someone to mind Ren so Mitsuru and Yukari are their first choices. Yukari is usually at home so she probably minds them the most. I remember from your series that Ren really likes Featherman so like Yukari is an instant hit with him. Also Yukari is really good with kids in general so babysitting them is no bother for her.

Also really quick I forgot to mention that Riku has a sister Yuna! She’s just as crazy as he is (she has a knife collection that she throws for fun 💔) so when it’s the three of them together? SEES nightmare.

I think aside from Yukari, Shinji and Aigis are probably the best. Shinji is also really good with kids and his cooking is enough to “please the beasts“. Aigis has the advantage of simply being able to keep up with them 💀

Akihiko, Chidori, and Junpei are all banned from baby sitting unless another adult is present. Akihiko joins in on the shenanigans, Chidori genuinely believed it would be a good idea to leave them on their own and Junpei also encourages the bullshit and ends up being the main victim of their pranks

Fuuka and the twins are honestly not too bad. The twins (particularly Minako) will encourage their antics sometimes and Fuuka has a hard time controlling them. Ken is also pretty good he’s their cool older brother <33

And Shibusawa!! I feel like he would get roped into the baby sitting a lot. He’s also a cool uncle and I can see him getting on really well with all three of them!!! Although he is on thin ice for feeding them too much sweets just like your fic 💀

Two incidents I thought of randomly:

One time Akihiko, Minato and Shinjiro were minding them and they managed to freeze a mentos mint into an ice cube and give it to Akihiko who put it in his soda. Shinji was NOT happy about cleaning up the resulting mess. 

Another time they gave Minako a heart attack because they taped a foghorn thing (idk what they’re called but those prank horns) to the back of the door and when she opened it went off. They forgot to remove it though resulting in a very startled Mitsuru when she got home 💀💀

Ooh for kindergarten teacher Rumi scenarios: What if it's thanks to her that they figure out Ren needs glasses? Like she notices that when he's sat near the board, he gets loads of work done but whenever he's sat near the back, he just kinda sits there looking confused. So she mentions this observation to Takuto and maybe getting Ren a check up to which Takuto immediately thanks her for the heads up and agrees. And then the next Monday, Ren comes in with glasses that match his dad's.

So I've been looking through the Maruki tag and seeing everyone's different aus and hear me out: Imagine how awkward Yaldaruki must be in the Takuren Family AU. Like Maruki discovering that Yaldabaoth erased Ren from existence on Christmas and staring at him like a disappointed wife whose husband has some 'splaining to do and Yaldabaoth is just like "Yeah, so funny story I forgot to mention..."

Oh goodness that would cause some...... arguing for sure. Not only did Yaldy basically kilI Ren, he also took his money, and basically ruined his life. So for Ren to find out that not only is Yaldy still alive, but is dating his dad. Yaldabaoth is his new father oh no

Maruki loves them both though so I feel like he'd try and get them to start over..... that may involve getting Yaldy to not use any godly abilities anymore, somehow. Oh they'd be a funny family, that's for sure <(＿　＿)>

Just imagine coming home only to see that the god you thought you defeated a year ago is dating your father

Poor Ren......... but also poor Yaldy because you know Ren is going to find ways to get back at him

Mayhaps Maruki should invest in some competitive video games for them so they don't beat each other up in real life (✿◡‿◡)

Uncle Shibu AU

After reading @wildcard-rumi's Takuren Family AU (great series by the way, go check it out!) for like the tenth time, I can’t help but think, what if instead of going with Sojiro in the beginning, Akiren lived with his Godfather Shibusawa (I call him Uncle Shibu whenever I see him in the Takuren Family AU and this AU is basically a "Maruki is Akiren's father" AU). 

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Coffee Dad. I ADORE him, he's one of my favorite Confidant Links, I just really love Uncle Shibu in the AU and it makes me wish there was more to him in the game. I admit to wanting to write this AU at some point, I just don't have a lot of time at the moment. So here are some thoughts I had on this:

- Shibusawa is the one Akiren goes to live with for his probation. Akiren doesn't know how his mother got in contact with his Godfather since she basically all but wiped Mariki out of Akiren's life

- Shibu is worried about Akiren's mental state after the initial arrest and believes that Akiren did the right thing

- Shibusawa is all too happy to show his protectiveness of Akiren, he stands up for Akiren when he says that Akiren was defending a woman from a drunk (Akiren told him the story)

- (Lowkey I want a glaring match between Uncle Shibu and the Shujin Principle with Shibu sticking up for his nephew)

- Akiren copying some of his Uncle's fashion style and maybe mannerisms

- After getting Morgana, Shibu is all too happy to pay the fee (if there is one). If animals are not allowed where he lives, it's a fun game of "Hide the cat"

- Shibu calls Morgana, Akiren's therapy cat. He probably has some note for this just in case so Akiren shouldn't get in trouble 

- Whenever Ren does something suave/charming, Shibu: "He learned that from me!"

- Every time Ren is adorkable (Like in the manga), Shibu to Takuto: "He got that from you."

- Shibusawa talking to Takuto about how he thinks Ren can understand his cat due to how Ren responds/argues with Morgana

- Some times, Shibu just looks at Ren and sees Takuto, he accidentally calls them by the others name from time to time

Other Notes: 

- Thinking of making Shibu into the Hierophant as well as making other Arcana swaps but not too sure 

- I think in game, it mentions that Shibusawa is recently engaged, but I can't remember

- Possibly earlier Shibusawa - Maruki reunion since the wiki says that is their first time meeting up in a long while

- May switch around events or even Thieves, still not sure

Okay had a random thought and had to share it so Rumi from P5R right? We know almost nothing about her. We know her first name, she was engaged to Maruki, she was pretty dang cheeky and strong willed according to Maruki, her birthday is February 3rd, shit hit the fan one night and fucked up her life. That's all we know.

Here's what my sleep deprived brain has come up with: She has red hair, red eyes, and we don't actually know her surname... Rumi Kirijo, anyone?

Now that I think about it, Maruki's motives are quite similar to Ryoji's... You know in the way that they wanted a world where no one has to suffer. Granted they had very different means of achieving this but still similar motives. I'm just imagining Mitsuru giving Maruki a thinly veiled threat to never pull that shit again because once was enough and he made her go through it again a second time so there's no way in hell she's letting happen a third time.

"You know we had an old friend who tried to achieve that same goal as you..."

Yo I just going through some of your Riku stuff and found those asks about Rumi being a Kirijo and then I started thinking: in that combined au thing with your Riku one and Rui's Takuto and Ren one, how the hell would Riku react to the whole Maruki situation? Like I dunno if you've read Rui's Buried Memories series but Maruki's clearly gone off the deep end and is really protective of his son. Like Riku would know this dude as his I guess uncle? In this au so I feel like he'd be like "I understand how you feel... But bro chill the fuck out"

OK ANON I AM VIBRATING AT THE SPEED OF LIGHT HERE WE GO

It gets quite long my bad infodumping got the better of me again 💀 and ofc quick warning there's a lot of persona 5 royal spoilers ahead <3

Ok so I've actually been thinking about this a lot in the context of both the Kirijo Sisters AU (Mitsuru and Rumi are sisters and I think I might add this to the original Captain AU tbh) and also the Captain/Takuren dad AU (me and Rui's AU) and hoo boy do I have a lot of thoughts.

Now cut forward to the palace where they find out about Rumi and Riku is conflicted to say the least. He realizes his uncle has fucked him over by giving him a reality he DIDN'T want and he believes he kind of forced recovery on Rumi but at the same time he knows the pain Rumi was in and he can see why he did it. Important thing to mention here is that Riku has come to accept his trauma and realize that it hurt, yes but he got the help he needed and managed to work through it, making him a stronger person. Can you see how his ideals conflict heavily with Maruki's? Basically Riku would be angry but at the same time a little sympathetic? Like he understands wanting to fix everyone's problems by erasing all the pain but at the same time his pain and more specifically how he dealt with it has made him stronger.

Either way I think Riku would ultimately be pretty angry at Maruki. Unlike the other thieves I can't see Riku going to therapy sessions with Maruki because I feel like Mitsuru would get him the best professional therapist she can to make sure that he gets the treatment that he needs. So Maruki hasn't seen Riku since he was Rumi's lonely nephew (similar to Mitsuru he didn't have many friends growing up). However he does know that Riku's friends with the thieves because they keep mentioning him. Maruki then decides that he will include Riku in the "phantom thieves getting their ideal reality" thing BUT he bases it off younger Riku would want. Which is being happy at home in Port Island explaining his third semester which I've talked more in depth about here (possibly a little outdated but the idea is the same).

For the Takuren Dad/Captain AU I feel like while Riku is angry/upset at Maruki, ultimately? He'd be more concerned about Ren because he knows how hard this is for him considering you know that's his dad. So he'd put aside his own feelings (hmmm who does that sound like) and support Ren and be there for his cousin who he cares for dearly.

As for the Buried Memories AU now THIS is juicy because I love this AU. OK so if I remember correctly Rumi straight up dies in this AU. So like I felt it was like important to mention that Riku would be really upset because he loved his aunt and ofc Mitsuru herself would be devastated because she's lost ANOTHER family member (and also her mother too because I imagine they share a mom and that's how they're related). And actually? I think Riku would be more angry in this AU. Because Ren was quite close to him and he felt like he finally had a friend. Then that gets taken away from him and he's even MORE lonely than he was before. So he finds out what Maruki did and I guess he sees it as Maruki almost abandoning Ren? He tries to understand because he doesn't want to hate his uncle completely but he can't help but feel he turned his back on Ren, instead of helping him through the trauma he just erases it and leaves him? Which actually even though it's not necessarily the same could be an interesting little parallel with Riku and Mitsuru in that she immediately gets him help and sticks with him (idk I'm kinda spitballing here). His reaction would probably be similar to Goro's actually but more raw I guess because Ren's his cousin.

These are my main thoughts at the minute there's a few loopholes here and there but I'm having so much fun thinking about this AU. Thanks for the ask <3

Wait that scenario becomes even funnier when you remember that Maruki saw the thieves leave Kamoshida's palace after Ann's awakening

So imagine like after they chase the boys until they lose sight of them and then discussing what the hell just happened, Rumi calls Maruki and explains to him what just happened and he's like

"Oh yeah, I saw Ren and his friends do that before too"

"anD YOU DIDN'T THINK TO TELL ME?!?!?!"

WJDJJDDUHDUENFUDBD OK I COMPLETELY FORGOT THAT OMG THAT'S HILARIOUS 💀💀💀💀💀

Mitsuru and Rumi just looking at each other like "what the actual fuck is going on" and Maruki is just that *chuckles* I'm in danger meme because he knows that the Kirijo sisters are gonna come and get his ass for not telling them about their kids/nephews' disappearing acts 😩

Wait if we're think of the Kirijo sisters au with the Riku au, what if when the thieves come back from, let's say Kaneshiro's palace cause it's in Shibuya, they happen to leave while Mitsuru and Rumi are walking past from shopping. And Mitsuru and Rumi are confused because their boys just suddenly appeared from midair???? And the four of them just stand there. And stare at each other. In complete silence.

If it was in the game format, I imagine the choice section would up and the options would be

>"... I can explain?"

>Run away

"...I can explain?": So assuming the other thieves are there, I imagine Ann comes in with her terrible acting (which I never thought was that bad but against Mitsuru "I see bullshit hundred miles away" Kirijo it's bad 💀). She's like "oh we're practicing for the Shujin Magic Show hahaha we're doing a disappearing act hahaha!" And Rumi is like "don't Riku and Kitagawa-kun go to Kosei?" "..." "..." "Ann you fucking idiot"

Run away: this is the far more sensible option tbh 💀. Although it's more like they run off and Rumi and Mitsuru shout after them which then they know they're in deep shit when they get home 💀. They're really just stuck between a rock and a hard place 💀

Ok so as for how he'd react to Ren regaining his memories... It's a tough one. I mean no matter what he's going to try and help his cousin because you know he loves him so much. But he's also probably either feeling too overwhelmed to actually say anything (because like holy fuck after months of hiding it Ren finally remembers who he is) or else he just doesn't know what to say? ACTUALLY WAIT IF RIKU KNEW THE WHOLE TIME HOW WOULD REN FEEL???? LIKE HIS COUSIN KNEW THE WHOLE TIME BUT NEVER SAID ANYTHING???? OK THAT'S A LOT OF ANGST THERE FUCK! I think after the whole thing has calmed down though the two would really have a heart to heart about everything. They both try apologizing before realizing it's neither of them's fault? And then they resolve to be much closer and support each other in fixing this whole mess and would have a big old teary hug 🥺

AND OMFG NOOOOOOO LITTLE RIKU REACTING TO REN NOT KNOWING WHO IS HE IS FUCK 😭😭😭 I think that Riku would be probably be first of all so confused because what do you MEAN his only friend aside from his sister DOESN'T REMEMBER HIM?????? And then I think he'd get pretty upset and probably like... Shut himself off for a few days (which absolutely fucking devastates Mitsuru and Yukari but especially Mitsuru because she's ALSO dealing with the death of her sister...). Eventually I think Junpei of all people would help him out (because he had to deal with Chidori not remembering him so somehow he actually helps Riku the most) but it would definitely scar him for a while 😭

The Shirt

A little drabble I did, I wanted to try and test myself to type in under half an hour. Shibusawa's first name is courtesy of @wildcard-rumi

Note: This is based on a little skit I did in my head but felt it was drabble worthy. Also this is implied Shibusawa X Maruki in a Takuren Family AU

Takuto didn't know how he had never noticed the shirt until now. Maybe it was because Ren had been eating earlier. Or maybe because he was still not fully awake. Either way, he noticed the shirt now.

"Ren...what are you wearing?"

At the question, the teen glanced down at his shirt and jeans.

"Um...clothes?" He raised an eyebrow at his father. 

"No no, I meant specifically," Takuto waved his hand in Ren's general direction. His eyes staring at the phrase on the shirt.

I Ship My Dad With His Best Friend 

Ren knew full well what his father was referring to. He just really wanted to mess with the older male. 

"It’s just a shirt," the teen pulled down the material to fully showcase the phrase. The blush was definitely worth this. Ren had to repress the urge to smirk at his father's frustration.

Takuto felt his cheeks flush red as he rubbed his scalp, pulling at the strands. Judging how Morgana slipped away and he could hear the cat's laughter, this was definitely a prank. There was no other way. Hell Takuto could see the playful sparkle in Ren's eyes despite keeping a neutral expression. 

"Seriously Dad, it's just a shirt." Ren tugged the shirt and ran his hand down the phrase. "It's no big deal, nothing to worry over a simple shirt."

Simple shirt my ass, Takuto kept the comment to himself. He really didn’t want to give Ren anymore ammuntion to tease with.

Ren's phone pinged, causing him to pull out the device. Time to go.

"Sorry Dad, but I have to get going. I'm meeting up with everyone today. See you later! Come on Morgana or I'm leaving you behind!" 

With that Ren turned, causing Takuto to see what he had missed on the back of the shirt.

They're Both Too Oblivious To Admit Their Mutual Pining. 

Takuto barely heard Morgana's protest or Ren's departure as he hid his blushing face in his arms. He's pretty sure Ren heard his muffled scream if the hint of laughter before the apartment door closed was any indication. 

Oh his son was definitely a little shit when he wanted to be.

Bonus:

A few hours later, Takuto was taking a basket of laundry to Ren's room. It was his turn to do laundry so he figured that he'd take care of it for his son. After opening the closet...Takuto was slightly regretting it… 

Inside were a few other shirts similar to the one from this morning. The only consolation was that he wasn't the only victim of the shirts, it looks like Ren got at least one for all of his friends.
