Do you have any crossover ships with Gonta? Like characters from dr1/dr2 I mean

Not necessarily Romantically but I do have a lot of crossover interactions that I really like with Gonta!!

Gonta & Byakuya: I've long had the headcanon(?)/AU idea of Byakuya knowing Gonta since he was very young because both of their families are powerful and influential. In a universe where the v3 cast and the dr1/dr2 cast exist together, I hced that Byakuya was tasked with babysitting a pre-raised-by-wolves Gonta at least once. Ive had this idea for a fic about Gonta's disappearance from his perspective for a while, but since Im not as into dr1 I don't think I could execute Byakuya's characterization super well.

Gonta & Taka: I think these two would get along SUPER well. I feel like Gonta would be able to be fast friends with anyone who is very passionate and loud. Gonta would really admire Taka's mastery of etiquette and academics, and while I'm unsure of if Taka would have the best words to tackle Gonta's self-esteem issues directly, I think he would genuinely admire Gonta's persistence at wanting to be a gentleman and how hard he works. Not to mention, both face a lot of pressure from their families legacies. These two would be great together.

Gonta & Sakura: Sakura would LOVE to train with Gonta, and I feel like her gentle but firm encouragement would be so valuable to him. In non-despair aus with all three casts, I always imagine these two as friends.

Gonta & Mondo: Insert screenshot from UTDP of Mondo saying to Gonta "you're like a really big... puppy dog." I feel like Mondo would at first feel the need to like. Try to prove to Gonta that he's tougher than him, just because of how big Gonta is. But would quickly realize Gonta's not like that at all and is a sweetheart. And would become quickly endeared to him. (there might be really cute ship potential here. I like the idea of Mondo getting a little bit of a crush on him)

Gonta & Chihiro: Gonta would be SO HAPPY to help Chihiro with feeling like she isn't strong enough. Maybe not in the best way, because I think he would rush to try and protect her from everything which isn't Exactly what she wants, but I think after she expresses this Gonta would switch to trying to help her in other ways instead. Chihiro would be really nice to him and I think they could be friends.

Gonta & Gundham: I THINK THESE TWO WOULD BE BEST FRIENDS IF THEY EXISTED IN THE SAME UNIVERSE. MY GOD. There's a reason I have a tag for them [#bugs & beasts]. Their interests are very similar, of course, but it goes beyond that. Gundham understands very well what its like to struggle socially, and probably would be able to see a lot of himself in Gonta. I also think that while Gonta might struggle at first to keep up with the... flamboyant way Gundham speaks 1. I like the idea that at first his hamsters translate for him and 2. I think he would eventually figure it out. Gonta regularly yes-ands the more weird personas of the other characters (ex, himiko's magic) and I think his respect for the way Gundham sees himself would be a breath of fresh air for him. Both are lonely and desperate for acceptance by the group (Gonta more actively, Gundham more sadly accepting his place on the outside), if they were in the same story nothing could have stopped them.

Gonta & Sonia: Sonia would be absolutely delighted by Gonta's backstory, being raised by wolves, and I bet she would love to teach him etiquette and how to act royally. Gonta would be absolutely obsessed with her. I mean, she's a princess! I think to Gonta, a prince would be almost the pinnacle of gentlemanliness. He would want to treat her with so much respect, maybe to the point of stressing himself out hgdjskfs

Gonta & Nagito: These two... would have a weird relationship. I'm always saying how Gonta needs a hypeman badly and I think Komaeda would be that in the weirdest, most unhealthy way possible. Nagito would be obsessed with Gonta as an ultimate (as he is with any ultimates) and would discourage his self loathing by trying to reassure him by his weird view of talent and what being an ultimate means. Gonta, unfamiliar with his ideology, would probably half heartedly take the compliment while also concerned about how much Nagito puts himself down. I don't think Nagito should be left alone around him LMAO

🥺 Is there a certain type of moment or common interaction between your characters that never fails to put you in your feels?

Being subconsciously protective. It gets me every single time: Chuuya tackling Dazai to safety in Stormbringer, Dazai keeping Chuuya’s head in his lap in Dead Apple while he sleeps (and the HAND) and Chuuya being genuinely concerned for Dazai during the Lovecraft fight — all of that!

To go on a brief related ramble, there’s this scene in a Miss Marple murder mystery that I read years ago where Miss Marple is watching this young couple touring a house. While the couple is on a balcony, the railing suddenly breaks, and the woman nearly falls down several stories. Instead of reaching out to grab her, her partner actually steps back off the balcony, leaving her to regain her balance on her own.

Miss Marple goes up to the woman afterwards and basically says “that young man will not make you a good partner if his first instinct is to save himself rather than help you.” And while it’s perhaps a bit of a surface level way to judge relationships, that always stuck with with me (and later got reinforced by a few Life Experiences), so that aspect has always been important to me with characters! (More reasons why I love Chuuya’s character so much alskdjfjf)

😈 Has there been a point in a story where you did something just to be playfully mean to your readers?

…Hmmm I’m actually struggling to think of one — tbh I’m pretty sensitive to angst (see blog title lol) so if I write things that are too mean I always end up making myself sad too 😅

…Oh except maybe the first chapter of “This is how it feels to take a fall”. That was very mean — BUT I would argue also necessary for the plot! (And again I did make myself very sad alskjdfj) (…come to think of it there were a few Howl AU cliffhangers that were also a bit mean)(oops)

*Vibrates in place* I am so desperate to have more sleep and time so I can actually finish things alsksjdjfj BUT here are a few updates: I’m making progress (if slower than I had hoped) on the Howl AU epilogue, and after that’s finished I’ll be working on the next Skyline Pigeon chapter, as well as a Howl AU extra that I recently figured out I’m going to call “Rimbaud and the Man of Many Ways”! I am very excited to work on that >:D also the Howl AU sequel will probably be a long time coming, but it’s going to be called “Chuuya and the Castle in the Air”! I’ve been working on plotting it, because I’m working some setup/foreshadowing into the main story epilogue so I need to know what I’m doing at least somewhat lol

Also here is a preview of the beginning of the Howl AU epilogue because I have no self control and also this part has been done for ages, it’s just the later parts that are taking forever alskdjfjf (also apologies for the screenshot I’m currently too sleepy to copy paste this whole chunk and format it on mobile)

✅ What’s something that appears in your fics over and over and over again, even if you don’t mean to?

…My first instinct is to say “cuddling”, but that’s pretty deliberate — I crave the FLOOF. So I guess the more accurate answer, for both my writing AND my comics, would be “cooking together”, because that wasn’t something I noticed I was doing until other people started pointing it out XD (I even somehow managed to get it into the Little Mermaid AU — in retrospect my friend’s note of “wait they’re cooking bread now??” was an early sign lololol)

Here is a section from the second book of Felix's backstory, secret identity reveal jailbreak scenario :D

I chose this one mainly cause I've got some art for this scene coming up in my queue 😂

Uhhh Felix is not doing too hot, Grace is fighting down a panic attack, and Erin is being MVP like usual. It's a whumpy scenario lol

They were paused for the moment, tucked into an alcove that was storing some kind of generator. The bulky machine served not only as a visual buffer from the rest of the hallway, but also to drown out the noise of their hushed conversation.

Grace needed to catch her breath- a result of her stubbornly insisting that it only needed to take one person to carry him. Erin and Tychus were reviewing the map Erin had drawn over her arm, and coming to the conclusion that they were, in fact, lost.

Felix was slumped against the wall thinking about the fact that this would be a perfect time to be throwing up, since they were already at a stop, but there seemed to be nothing ready to come up yet.

Maybe this meant he was finally done.

They were discussing their getaway route, he realized, and none of them were familiar with the base's layout. Felix still had it memorized.

"Erin," he said, as loud as he could force his voice to go, "Where are you trying to get to?"

She looked up at him in surprise, then back down at her arm. "I don't exactly know. It was this room Tychus and I came across on our way to find you guys. There was a window in it I think we can use to get out so we can avoid doors with security cameras and coded locks. The problem is the hallways aren't adding up to my notes."

She sighed in defeat and sat on the floor next to him.

"Are you feeling better?"

He nodded.

"Can I see your notes? I might know where it is."

Erin seemed confused, but she complied, holding out her arm in front of him and tracing over the theoretical route with her finger as she explained.

Grace leaned in to join the conversation, one arm looped around Felix's torso to help him stay upright.

Felix listened closely, letting his body slump against her so he could put all his willpower into visualizing the route.

After Erin had finished, he nodded.

"Yeah, there's a hallway between these two that's not marked on the map, so we got mixed up when we took the first left instead of the second. The rest of the map looks pretty accurate."

"How do you know the layout so well?" Tychus demanded as Erin added in the missing hallway to her arm.

"I've been here before," Felix replied.

He realized that really didn't answer the question, but he was too exhausted to want to go into detail.

"I hope you're planning on explaining things later," Erin muttered.

Felix swallowed. "I- I'm sorry guys. For not telling you sooner."

Grace gave him a reassuring squeeze as Tychus turned away, shoving his hands into his pockets and biting down on the edge of his lip.

Erin watched him, concerned, then addressed Felix with a sigh.

"It's fine I guess. It's probably not something anyone would want to talk about. I'm just confused why none of this showed up on your government record at all."

"You looked up my record?" Felix asked with a hint of amusement in his tone.

"Yeah," Erin pouted.

for the fic title game: “I’m Alone Now” and “Building Bridges”. Those were chapter titles I toyed with and I wanted to see what you’d write for them.

hmm... for "I'm Alone Now," I'm thinking of when the kids all went their separate ways after Season 1, and so maybe a 4-part fic with snapshots from each of them settling into their new life and learning to live apart. Probably also a lot of angst on Reynie's part about not getting replies to his letters as much as he'd like :(

and as for "Building Bridges," I have two different ideas. One is post-redemption Curtain just learning to live in the Benedict house and such. The other is the Book Executives after they're captured, and Mr. Benedict trying to get through to them with the option to restore the memories Curtain stole, or at least to help them get back on their feet and out of prison (or wherever they're being held!)

She’s really fucking stupid. Like obviously she’s hella book smart and speaks very eloquently and can rule a kingdom, but when it comes to normal every day life stuff, Irene has no idea what she’s doing. She somehow burns toast. She can’t pay taxes. She leaves the oven on and almost burns down half the castle. She can hardly hold a normal conversation with anyone. I love her.

Obviously she has the one on her stomach, but I think she’d also have a lot on her hands. She probably clawed at herself a lot when she was imprisoned, and the gashes never fully healed. It’s why she wears those cool gloves.

Since she can’t taste anything, drinks aren’t really fun for her anymore, but it also makes alcohol a little more dangerous because it hardly burns. I think she still enjoys a nice buzz from a glass of wine every now and then, but she mostly just sticks to water.

Is it strange that I've actually thought about this? XD

I already have very long hair, so I think it would be pretty cool if my Hyde's hair shortened to my shoulders. Speaking of short, I am already kind of tall for a girl so I think my Hyde would be shorter. I wear glasses but my Hyde probably wouldn't. For hair color, I'm taking a page out of TGS and saying my Hyde would be blonde. I think my Hyde's eyes would be bright blue because when I was younger my eyes were bright blue but they faded to a gray.

As for what I would do as Hyde, I honestly have no idea. I would want to say I would go out and cause chaos but I don't even my "evil side" would do anything like that I am a very timid person. She would probably go to a park where there's signs that say to but feed the animals but feed the animals anyways. Or do something like ordering from a kids menu at a restaurant despite being an adult. Truly evil, I know.

How do you proceed?

Honestly if I were in Mike's situation I would comfort him saying I saw he was crying, but not tell him that I knew he was talking about himself just yet as since I am Mike Wheeler, I am still dating his sister, Will is obviously very emotional and I don't want to make him more so, plus the van still has Jonathan and Argyle inside. Maybe I would say something along the lines of: "I sure am lucky to be loved like that" 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

gonna be real with you, blinked at this ask a few times because i was SO sure i'd heard about this podcast from you! maybe you are just in my brain as [Friend Who Has Good Recs For Things To Listen To] ^^;

anyway. the silt verses is a horror podcast about a pair of pilgrims who worship an... outlawed (?) god, and their journey to find others like them, approximately. i've only successfully listened to the first season but it is SO excellent. i love the show's concept of gods as things that can be grown and fed, i love that "angels" are gross and horrifying, i love that it's got that classic I Am In Eskew thing of every week is a different horror but WOW that sure is horrifying! good podcast, definitely recommend.

YEAHHHHHHHH JIMMY T!!!! what a guy.......

Fav Thing - its very neat whenever they give little bits of characterization to jimmy that reveal hes usually pretty reserved and solitary. like how his rank b card in gold that states that he's a man of few words, or how his cutscene is titled "the lonely dancer" in smooth moves. one of my fav all time jimmy moments is during the mega microgames diaries when he brags about scoring a lot of points in basketball, but then we see orbulon's point of view which reveals that he was really just shooting baskets by himself. i think thats honestly super sweet and its always something i hope they expand on in the future. I love how openly passionate he is about his interests and that he loves showing off regardless. that's really great.

also i really love that his last name is thang. that is still the funniest thing to me

Least Fav Thing - uh. the fact that he can climb six stairs in one step. how does he do it....

Favorite Line - the "so true" jimmy t voice clip from gold. so true!

brOTP - wario!! its gotta be wario. i wish we could see them interact more. i love that the two always email each other and that jimmy has a wario ringtone in mega microgames. that is hilarious i love it. a wario ringtone for all his wario related calls.

but also! other honorable mentions, i like imagining hes longtime friends with 5-volt. they have barely interacted in canon so i just have to think long and hard about it but! picturing them goofing off together is fun

ok also one last weird pick. joe?? joe. with the way hes characterized in gold onward he'd have such a fun dynamic with jimmy. they would make a good duo

OTP - theres not many candidates to work with so wario again lmao. hes in both categories sure. bromance

nOTP - that one unnamed lady from mega party games. girl come on... please... the rhythm made him do it....

random headcanon - i like to think that since jimmy's warioware diy music category is "world music", that he has like the widest range of music taste ever. if you can even kinda dance to the song he's into it. this goes for dancing too he just loves everything. jamie has probably shown him sooooo much nightcore or something and he's obsessed with it

Unpopular Opinion - uhhh i guess current jimmy voice>old jimmy voice. old warioware voices in general are iconic and i love how distorted and weird they are but i really like his current voice
