Hey, could you recommend some books/essays/articles on the potential Chinese hegemony-a deep dive into Chinese politics? Thanks a bunch, and have a great day <3
hi! i don't know where you're writing from, so i must warn you that a lot of these involve implications for india.
Fateful Triangle by Tanvi Madan: a history of how US-India relations were shaped by the relationship of either with China during the Cold War; looks into the motivations of all countries involved
Belt and Road by Bruno Macaes: about the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), its economic, strategic, and soft power dimensions and how China sees the project
The Long Game by Vijay Gokhale: specifically about how China negotiates with India; especially insightful because he used to be the ambassador to China. Also see his After Tiananmen, which is about the directions that China took after 1989
China After Mao by Frank Dikotter: charts the reform in China starting in the 1970s; looks into the validity of the idea of "opening up"; looks at how the market works within the society and within the bounds of the Party
The Great Game in the Buddhist Himalayas by Phunchok Stobdan: studies China's and India's operations for strategic dominance in the Himalayas; looks at how the region became such a contentious one
Also just some articles/essays/papers:
China's Expanding Influence in the UN System by Gateway House
Chinese Investments in South Asia by Amit Bhandari
The China Trap by Jessica Chen Weiss
China's Hidden Tech Revolution by Dan Wang
China's Latin American Power Play by Julio Armando Guzman
South Korea's Slow Pivot to China by Amlan Dutta
Hope that helps!

AESTHETICS
the roar of good friends when the lights flick on at a surprise party, cherry blossom petals fluttering through the spring breeze, the buzz of getting too excited about something nobody else cares about, a slice of perfect lemon cake paired with a perfect cup of chai, giggles that turn into snorts halfway through, loudly singing a well-loved song around a crowded campfire, first kisses with red noses in gently falling snow
BIOGRAPHY
jiya was born on march 4th (”the only day of the year that’s a complete sentence!”), 2001 at 3pm, gracing dr. tanvi patel and dr. imraan dhawan with their first and only child. both drs. were – and still are – proudly professors at sunset hills university, home of the manta rays. go rays!
growing up under two academics – her mother in agricultural studies specializing in sustainability and her father in world literature with a focus in poetry – was a challenge. a challenge jiya accepted with the same determination with which she lived her entire life.
there were plenty of good things to combat the stress of her parents’ expectations for her academic success. dressing up for their university dinner parties, where they had brilliant conversations unlike anything else she’d ever seen; where everyone begged her to follow her dreams.
at the end of the day, that was the thing she took from her parents and their friends most seriously. they had all achieved so many of their dreams, what could possibly hold jiya back from doing the same? that ambition lit a fire under her that couldn’t be put out.
it didn’t matter what happened. through her first breakups, bad news from her family, hard times at school, she never stopped going going going. art club, soccer, drama, piano lessons, summer camp... if there was something she wanted, she went for it.
despite how much of her life revolved around it (or maybe because of it), going to s.h.u. was the thing jiya worked hardest for. there was no way she was letting anyone think she got in because of her parents (even though she almost certainly did). all she wanted was to be a manta ray.
to absolutely no one’s surprise, jiya was the most enthusiastic freshman s.h.u. had seen in... maybe ever. no matter the sport being played, the play being put on, or the boredom at risk from going, jiya would be there with bells on; literal bells.
she generally lives by the motto “my studies can wait, what’s going on tonight?” it might not be her parents’ favorite philosophy, but she does have the record for most games attended by a single student and they are proud of that achievement.
now that she’s more than halfway through her degree, people are starting to ask what she has planned for afterward. unrelated, she’s starting to realize she’s going to have to figure out who she wants to be outside of her love of sunset hills. or what she wants to do. pixar, maybe? illustrating children’s books, maybe? animating her own show, maybe? how are people supposed to figure this stuff out?
PERSONALITY
jiya is absolutely the self - appointed spirit master of sunset hills. she shows up to every game (for every sport) she can, completely decked out in face paint, pom-poms, and an outfit sure to inspire any manta ray to feel that good school pride. she may have a love / hate relationship with the person in the school mascot costume for unknown and probably stupid entirely justifiable reasons.
she is maximalist to the core and could not handle minimalism if she was paid to. everything in her room is done up to the nines with endless color, texture, lights, ambient white noise; the whole lot. her dorm looks like a macramé arts and crafts class blew up inside.
one thing jiya doesn’t take well is rejection. the last time she was broken up with, she threw all of the clothes her ex had left at her place out the window and announced it was “the defenestration of sunset hills”. she really is such a sweet girl, but that fear of rejection runs deep.
WANTED
roommate  –  babe is living in midnight park and i would love for her to have a roommate! she is probably the best and worst roommate you’ll ever have. there are baked goods and dumb jokes and themed drinking game movie nights... and 4am dance breaks when she’s procrastinated an important essay and has to finish by 8am.
study buddies  –  speaking of baked goods and essays! jiya definitely organized a study group her freshman year and still brings them muffins every wednesday for their standing study date. and it’s not at all because i love community or legally blonde. nope.
trivia team  –  a classic group of friends who show up to their favorite bar for trivia night every week. are they really just there for the bar snacks, drinks, and company? almost definitely. do they still take things a little too seriously and get overly competitive? ...also almost definitely.
tutoring friends  –  there are a handful of subjects jiya could tutor somebody in and another handle of subjects she could use some tutoring in, so it could go either way! or maybe their strengths and weaknesses line up and they help each other out? somebody’s gotta keep her on track!
high school sweetheart  –  jiya grew up in sunset hills and there’s no doubt in my mind she had a very sweet high school romance. she definitely would’ve been the cheerleader type that (unsurprisingly) showed up to all of their games or band’s practices or academic decathlons.

hii !!!
so i decided to reread pomegranate ink bc i just love it way too much, and I FORGOT HOW FUNNY TULLIA IS, i literally love her sm omg she’s definitely one of my fav characters that you’ve written (along with friedrich from SITH!)
i completely forgot how WHIPPED yuta is for the mc & im absolutely living for it omg. the way he was so protective over her during the goodwill event & literally went batshit crazy bc she got hurt had me wanting to scream /pos
i also love how supportive noritoshi is! instead of making him a toxic partner, you made him trusting and supportive and it’s so refreshing. other authors may have gone with the cliche & made him toxic, and i’m so glad you didn’t. how he acts so sweet to the mc and wants her to be happy despite their situation is so endearing to me. it shows that he cares sm abt her platonically & i adore their friendship <3
AND TOGE!!! i love how he’s been a shoulder to lean on since the beginning! he’s helped the mc out sm & he’s such a reliable friend to her. their friendship is also one i adore. & toge & tullia are so cute, i hope they get together soon!
i’m loving tanvi’s character so far!! you rlly have such a good way of incorporating ocs into the story where they’re not just randomly thrown in. and you always find a way to show their importance too! i can’t wait to see more of tanvi in the future! she seems so sweet & i feel like her & tullia would get along so well.
sorry for ranting sm!! i just love pomegranate ink with my whole heart. it’s definitely my second fav of your fics, right behind SITH!
i’m interested to hear what you would do in regards to when yuta comes back during shibuya. like, would the mc stay in tokyo & meet the first-years & participate in the goodwill event or would she go with yuta overseas? it’d be cool to see her interact with the first-years though!! especially nobara, i feel like those two would get along despite nobara’s headstrong personality! i also think her & yuji would be good friends! thinking abt how gojo wanted to set her up with megumi would be funny in regards to those two meeting for the first time LMFAO. i definitely think megumi would respect her like he does yuta & i feel like she’d be like a protective older sister figure to him or maybe she’d remind him of tsumiki in a way?? i just like theorizing! :D
i’ll stop rambling now haha, i hope you’re doing well & taking care of yourself! :))
— 🪐
HIII sorry for the late response I feel like I’ve been kinda MIA recently!!
I feel like it’s not Yuta if he’s not at least a little whipped I’m glad you liked how I wrote him :) halfway through that fic I gave up on trying to make everyone be in character and just decided to write based on vibes alone HAHAHHA I think the best way to describe it is JJK vol 0 on crack tbh
I considered going the typical route or having him be in love with her but it’s just sm better with them as friends. Noritoshi is so sweet and he deserves sm and I hate when authors make characters villains for no reason when canonically they probably wouldn’t behave that way
TOGE IS SO GOBLIN I LOVEEE HIM he feels like someone who will just always come through when you really need him and isn’t afraid to say things straight up 🫶🏼 the best friend we all need FR and you’re so right he and tullia should be together by now…maybe if I ever actually wrote they would be 💔💔💔
Aww thank you I love using OCs so I’m glad people like them!! Tanvi will be a love interest for an already-introduced character but I will leave it a mystery as to who 🤞🏼
DON’T APOLOGIZE I LOVEEE LONG ASKS I always get happy when I see them in my inbox hehehe they’re the best form of validation Fr
MC will stay in Tokyo when Yuta goes overseas!! She’ll probably have a more background role because otherwise some plot points simply wouldn’t happen (ex during the exchange event she would be left to fight Todo as they’re evenly matched and she’s beaten him before) but she will be present for most major things. I think nobara would definitely look up to her the way she does with maki, and I think the MC would probably love the fact that someone thinks she’s strong HAHAH. I do think she would like yuji a lot as well!! Honestly she’s a pretty friendly person I think she doesn’t really dislike anyone (except for naoya). I can see yuji and tullia getting along very well though! And as for megumi…I think gojo would constantly be third wheeling or indiscreetly spying on them anytime they try to talk so that might make it hard for them to be super close but who knows lol.
I’ve been doing pretty well recently, just been super busy which is why I haven’t written anything in so long. I watched the new AOT ep with my family today which will hopefully motivate me to update SOMETHING soon hahaha.

Why is Krishna called Damodar?
Damodara means one whose belly (udara) has been bound by the rope (dama). Although great sages cannot bind Krishna in their meditation, a special cowherd girl effortlessly binds Krishna with Her ropes of love. To that girl, who is famously known as the daughter of King Vrshabhanu, I offer my repeated obeisances.
Let me now explain the aprakata (unmanifest) pastime behind the origin of the name ‘Damodara’, the pastime that originally took place in the eternal abode of Goloka Vrindavana.
saṅketāvasare cyute praṇayataḥ saṁrabdhayā rādhayā
prārabhya bhrū-kuṭiṁ hiraṇya-raśanā-dāmnā nibaddhodaram
kārttikyāṁ jananī-kṛtotsava-vara-prastāvanā-pūrvakaṁ
cāṭūni prathayantam ātta-pulakaṁ dhyāyema dāmodaram
Once having missed a rendezvous with Srimati Radhika, Krishna was passionately frowned upon by Radharani and was subsequently bound up by Her golden waistband. Krishna then proceeded to justify that His delay was due to the great festival of the Karttika month that was being celebrated by His mother. I meditate on Him, who thus became known as Damodara, who in this bound condition offered many excellent words of flattery with erect goosebumps on His body.
-Originally from Bhavisyottara Purana, cited in the commentary ‘sāraṅga-raṅgadā‘ of Srila Krishna Dasa Kaviraja Goswami on ‘Sri Krishna Karnamrta’, verse 110
Expanding on the above confidential pastime, Srila Jiva Goswami writes as follows
bālye’pi bhagavān kṛṣṇas taruṇaṁ rūpam āśritaḥ | reme vihārair vividhaiḥ priyayā saha rādhayā ||119||
ekadā kārttike māsi paurṇamāsyāṁ mahotsavaḥ | āsīn nanda-gṛhe ||120||
tasmin dine ca bhagavān rātrau rādhā-gṛhaṁ yayau | sā ca kruddhā tam udare kāñcī-dāmnā babandha ha ||121||
kṛṣṇas tu sarvam āvedya nija-geha-mahotsavam | priyāṁ prasādayāmāsa tataḥ sā tam avocayat ||122||
idaṁ covāca tāḥ kṛṣṇaḥ preyasī prīta-mānasaḥ | kāñcī-dāma tvayā tanvi udare yan mayārpitam ||123||
dāmodareti me nāma priyaṁ tena śubhānane | nātaḥ prītikaraṁ nāma mama lokeṣu vidyate ||124||
nityam etat prajāpatyāṁ sarva-siddhir bhaviṣyati | bhaktiṁ ca durlabhāṁ prāpya mama loke mahīyate ||125||
ulūkhale yadā mātrā baddho’haṁ bhavitā priye | udare dāmabhir loke tadā vyaktaṁ bhaviṣyati ||126||
anena nāma-mantreṇa yo’smin māsi tvayā saha | mām arcayed vidhānena sa labhet sarva-vāñchitam ||127||
In Goloka Vrindavana, Lord Krishna eternally assumes a youthful form. In this form, He enjoys in various ways along with His beloved Srimati Radhika. Once during the Karttika month, He stayed home to celebrate the festival arranged by Paurnamasi. Due to the festivities that day, He arrived late at night to meet Srimati Radhika.
In a state of anger, She tied Him up using Her waistband as a rope. Krishna then narrated everything that had taken place at His home that caused the delay. This story appeased Her, after which Krishna said to Her, “O slender-waisted Radhika! I am most satisfied by this action of You binding Me lovingly by Your waistband. O beautiful lady, this name of Mine, ‘Damodara’, has now become dearer to Me. In this world, no other name is as dear to Me as this name.
By chanting this name, one will always have children and will attain all perfection along with the rarest forms of devotional service. One will also be able to stay eternally in My abode by chanting these names.
In the near future, when Mother Yashoda will bind me to the mortar, this name of mine will manifest in the material world. In this month of Karttika, one who worships Me with You according to the rules of the scriptures will attain the fulfilment of all desires.
-Above verses are originally found in Bhavishya Purana, Kartika Prasanga, Section of Vraja-Ratnakara Dhrta, cited by Srila Jiva Goswami in his book ‘Sri Radha-krishnarcana-dipika’ (Text 119–127)
-Text 121–122 of Sri Radha-krishnarcana-dipika has also been quoted in Priti Sandarbha, Anuccheda 367

I had put it together in this condition simply because I love all this 🎥 … what “actress” when all they get are aektresses in that tv industry (this time it’s not about Tanvi it never was otherwise they will NOT take it personally and I want them to) As a 12 year old I wanted to be a screenwriter and I had come up with two good concepts which I can’t write here cuz as an adult I can understand that they can be stolen, they were quite impressive. In my teens I came across some software (imported) which had a lot of features including a directory of names to build characters of ur own and several side panels and digital sticky notes to create character profiles but as a kid even though that idea had already struck me I was still not able to think of anything out there (in those screengrabs I didn’t have that software) now as an adult I was finally able to create those profiles without even requiring that app, I don’t remember their template it was just name, age etc. I’ve made something of my own now, it has Name, Tag line, Vices, Virtues, Body Language, Beverage (a unique way of describing their complex personalities as a mix of two or more concoctions) and Hair & Look, Wardrobe. I came up with that effortlessly (not that I didn’t work hard) the moment I started writing about my characters I came up with these categories and descriptions. I was very happy about that because this was something I could only dream of as a kid/novice teenager and although I wanted to master it at 12 or 14-15 I don’t think it’s always possible to do that. It’s please give me a chance and read all that, then judge if you want to ie. after you’ve read the last line and don’t take any characters personally. There was a time when I was inacting them while writing the book which made it easier for me to not only visualise but also elaborate about them in detail. Again they’ll say it’s because Harsh is in acting… did you not read that I was fond of it since I was 12 I’ve been born and brought up in Mumbai, we breed Bollywood here. Keep ur flippant Chappi/Behenji mentality to yourself. I’ll be adding the character profiles after this note in the next post as now I’ll be the one doing all the untouchability or achoot giri which he started I’ve written about Eww that woman who has taken my place so I will not put it here as it’s extremely special to me and I don’t want to ruin it with her mere mention also/murkiness. Too bad I’m dying I couldn’t fulfil my dreams even after working so hard in this condition I had to share this before dying… I really had to as my last memory. - Zara Sauleh

The recently released Malayalam film 2018 is re-writing history at the box office. This film is now officially the new all-time highest-grosser in the Malayalam film industry. 2018 which is touted to be a survival drama, has enthralled the audience to the core with the gripping narration and magnificent performance from the lead pair. This film has surpassed Mohan Lal's all-time highest collections of Pulu Murugan in 17 days by collecting a total gross of 137.60 crores at the box office. Mohan Lal has been in the first position to date with 137.35 crores(Puli Murugan). If we have to consider Kerala state alone, then 2018 is standing at number 4 with 65.25 crores gross which is lagging behind Pulu Murugan(78.25 crores), Baahubali-2(73 Crores), and KGF-2(68.50 Crores). How Power of Attorney Help NRIs?(in Hindi)

carry out deeds on his behalf. The person who writes the deed is referred to as the grantor, donor or principal, and the person who acts on another’s behalf is termed as the attorney or the agent.
“A Power of Attorney (POA) plays a significant role in the real estate dealings of the Non-Resident Indians (NRIs). As per the Registration Act, 1908, whenever an NRI sells or purchases a house property, both parties must be present physically while registering the transaction. If the buyer or seller is not present to sign the documents, a trusted person can be appointed as the Power of Attorney. A POA assigned to facilitate property transactions should be registered with the respective sub-registrar. In case the buyer is an NRI, the POA needs to be certified by the Indian Consulate/Embassy of the country in which he/she resides”, avers Tanvi Jain, Advocate, Lucknow Bench, Allahabad High Court.

Monsters Born and Made by: Tanvi Berwha
I don’t really have a lot to say about this one. I was really interested in it but when it came down to the writing and characters, I just couldn’t get into it. They weren’t super fleshed out, didn’t reach off the page for me. When it comes to the tone of the book, it’s depressing. It’s a ya dystopian so of course. There’s a sort of cast system but it’s the rich and the poor, like always and the…

"I've always wondered..." Tanvi draws the pallu of the saree over her shoulder to ward off the mosquitos that find her shoulder a feast "...if we would've been friends back then."
Will stands mutely, as always. She's got used to a constantly hovering presence after the second battle, when nani hammered into her head the importance of pretenses. He's cute, has some brains apparently, and doesn't wrinkle his nose when she pulls out a cigarette.
She's promised herself to quit. Her therapist made her. She's considered firing the geriatric lady and then reminds gerself about the ethical issues, and the fact that finding jobs and paying clients was hard for everyone.
"Probably not. I'd be too cool for you." She giggles and sighs, leaning even further over the balcony to see some odd cousins scattered about in the maidan, one of whom is bravely lighting a huge stack of fireworks.
She stands up straight, crushing the lit cigarette under her red soles. Fireworks had always grated on her nerves, and now they remind her too much of battles she wished she'd done more in.
When she loses him, and mysterio decides he's a bad guy now, and the boy she's called a friend since childhood stands in front of her, poised to kill, she has one thought befire she closes her eyes: Will never said anything about their hypothetical friendship.
When they're standing on the bridge and the power crawls in her lungs and makes her wish for more, he finally speaks as he lets go the bear hug he'd pulled her into.
"No, we wouldn't have been. I didn't like nerds back then."

If anyone would ask him what his favourite memory from school was or what shirt Ned was wearing or what flavour ice cream MJ liked the best he'd take 10 seconds to answer.
There was a time when Tanvi was included in that list.
Red was her favourite, obviously. Cookies and Cream she would kill for, and debating the merits of strawberry jam over blueberry she could spend hours doing.
He hates he doesn't know anything now.
5 years for her, less than 5 seconds for him.
When she stretches her hand towards vanilla instead of chocolate or has her sandwiches smushed when she had proudly exclaimed she never would 'stoop down to your level, Parker'. When she cries over a cat stuck on a tree or when her suit malfunctions and she works on it herself despite her fear of all things that spark.
But she still picks up a container of cookies and cream along with the vanilla. She still claims to hate mango pickle when its actually the only thing that reminds her of her mother and hence a sign of vulnerability. She's still the brightest star in the sky and the spitfire he always knew her to be.
Its good that he doesn't know the new her. He knows enough to care, and that is enough.
