a bonus thought post for the night!!

on that nostalgia raising feelings train but it derails so it got long so its under a readmore :*

scrolling my old art made me a bit sad and nostalgic (who doesnt get those feelings though doing the same) specifically i really have my heart going out to kid me who got basically no notes on anything. (im not saying i shouldve, art was definitely kid art and questionably tagged etc!) but some i put effort into and it made me so happy to get those 10 likes or whatever. it made me post post and post even what i was working on and unfinished bits (Sure, being me? many of those never got finished bc posting gave the hit of reward chemicals, no response meant no motivation to finish to get more yknow?)

its weird thinking ive now as an adult got a handful of posts with -hundreds- of notes. one over a thousand!! (sure, the really good and popular artists may have thousands but hey they deserve it!!) its weird that i sort of maybe now know what to do to get a reaction out of my prefered niche of the internet. that if i tried w some more consistently, who knows?

im proud of everything in my current art tag. (mostly. no. i am proud shut up brain) i feel slightly like posting more wips. bc i have a ton. surprisingly? ive been drawing way more in the past year than ive been posting (new for me). of course, there is no obligation to post it. why post stuff im not happy with? only to get anxious abt it? sure posting that one teaser when i was actively working on making it better was kinda fun. sure maybe posting some wips would make me go back and finish them bc some of them are good ideas?? but also some are just. theyd make sense to nobody but myself. and why should i share every crevice of my creativity like i used to as an attention craving kid?

my blog is my blog its me, its not a nice art blog its got all my vents and whatever i like to reblog on a given day on it all together. i could make a new tag that feels less like a portfolio to post wips i abandoned or doodles that never went further. it might be nice having them out here. but somehow i feel like id be too embarassed to post them, for my few followers to actually see them. what if i actually tagged them and ppl in tags saw my nonsense doodles? is it worth it? right now my art tag feels like its: dinluke and finished at that ONLY. things that people who come on my blog would like to see perhaps...

hahahhahahha i just crashed my Krita trying to with brash abandon look at all the unposted wips i have at once

turns out i have like. a handful of original works that never got past a rough doodle stage which is fair yknow they were just ideas that could be fleshed out but dont need to. some of them are very personal vent art

ive got a few sketch to tiny doodle to questionable attempt at painting etc bits of the star wars ladies. reminds me that i should branch out in my star wars posting and that drawing women is just way easier and more natural to me why dont i do it more?

ive got a good few fic inspired sketches that never got legs and tbf? theyre olddd now.

ive got like 12 frames of the inktober challenge from last year... in the style of posting 5 at a time, theyve all been sketched out and like half are i think finished. obviously october went long and at some point it just felt weird to post them even if i finished them. i sort of decided if i finish them up early autumn i could get away w posting them for beginning of october while i had a try at the new inktober? idk why i like a challenge to force me to draw more than i do in a year. and then it takes me a year lol. i have a set of 5 that are all inspired by fic, and like. i still like the idea of them. unfortunately? some of the references were old.. A YEAR AGO. sure theres like, the appreciation for vintage and telling ppl we like their work ages on. but i worry the authors no longer are in the fandom or want to be reminded of their work? etc etc. some of them are meh, some i like.

ngl i am especailly happy w my oct 31 post, which i really wish id finished on time for last year. heres to seeing if i post it this year? maybe i’ll finish what i want to finish of them (theres like. 2 im just really not inspired for and never was) and then have a wee collage of them to post, w the oct 31 prompt seperate, as a sort of. hey wip clear out! these are the stragglers from last year :))

maybe ill post original art one day when i get drawn enough to finish one.

ok ok hi welcome indepth to my thought process, bonus thoughts for every thought included. this doesnt need to be on the internet SURE but its a small time capsule for myself ok?

i dont think right now making a doodle tag to post wips is gonna bring me anything but anxiety and feelings of inadequacy i know too well from posting art as a teen. maybe at some point itll help break the barrier and ill just. post shit but it doesnt have to be on my ““portfolio tag”“

i could pick up an wip to finish now, ive got a good few candidates. but i think i should best just, shake off the cobwebs on smth new so i dont feel like im ruining it. it might be a rey or a leia or other star wars heroine portrait. it might be grogu bc hes an already ugly gremlin. it might be something else. i might be talking a high load of shit bc its 3 am again and i should go sleep rather than push myself in delirium. odds are tomorrow im exhausted again, feel like i should do things that actually benefit me in my life and address responsibilites, and shut down under the weight of the thought of it and not do anything until i go crazy at night again? time will tell but rn im stuck in that loop.

There was a single line of code that a modder changed that had such a huge impact on loading speed that Rockstar implemented it in the next patch. GTAVs code is not quite yandere dev bad but it is REALLY bad. The rampant cheating problem in the game is due to the complete lack of any kind of server side verification of wether or not you can actually do the things your client tries to do. Because everything is peer to peer, other players can get your actual IP address just by being in the same instance as you, I've had other players straight up tell me what part of the country I live in because they can get that from my IP. Their anti cheat detection software reliably fails to detect actual cheaters but picks up on random innocent programs running in the background and there's no way to appeal this if you get banned for it.

tbf i dont think its super uncommon to get ppls IP from games but yeah otherwise, i was thinking abt this last night like u said gtav's cheating problem is SO bad. like its absolutely insane the kind of stuff you can do with simple mods compared to like any other game lmao

also idk if ive ever told this story before but a few years ago someone one day randomly set MY rank to like. 10000 or something. idk if i pissed someone off or something but id never seen that happen to anyone else before

that sounds cool as fuck at first, i unlocked everything instantly, but the problem was for the next week every single time i joined a lobby everyone would be like ":/ oh look we have a modder. cool rank asshole so legit" and every time a modder would be fucking with someone theyd instantly think it was me and nobody wanted to do heists with me and a ton of ppl said they were reporting me and nobody would believe me so i had to contact rockstar and beg them to change my rank back and hope they didnt think i did it to myself LMAO

they changed it to like 50 or something but i got to keep all the unlocked stuff, so i still have like the minigun and shit that i dont think i should be able to have but nobody notices

i do hope to see whatever loading screen update ur talking about though because oh my god is that way overdue. im not sure whether or not i should be surprised that a game that massive and complex has these problems but like the game generally?? seems to work?? but like the problems it has are always just these things that seem like they shouldve never been a problem in the first place

we watched more so i continue my ramblings

so we finished the trick tower stuff and started on the stuff on the island where theyre all hunting each other....wow finally some hunting in hunter x hunter

can i just say....fuck hisoka i hate that guyyyy oh my goddddd hes the worst. i just feel incandescent rage whenever hes on screen vhbjdshfjhbsd smarmy horny clown bitch. looooord. he invokes a similar emotion to part 1 dio tbh....like i lose my domestication when i see both those bitches

oh god that part where hisoka had just spent like hours de-hornifying himself or w/e and he looks all crusty and dehydrated and then he spots that old guy who looks kinda ghibli and he just goes AFTER ghibli man....like hisoka literally had one of those wack ass super detailed faces and just started screaming and running at that guy...like man i wouldve died instantly on the spot. jesus

gon remains best best perfect baby boy. every time he does something so cute and pure that my heart starts palpating, i get even more nervous for the shit hes gonna go thru someday

gon and killua are literally soooo precious theyre just two lil boys!!! two lads!!! lad boys! augh i love how much theyre vibing all the time...like on the boat to the island when theyre like refusing to tell each other who their target is and then they both start laughing and then show each other....so precious

honestly im really enjoying how they dont really have a rivalry (yet?) - theyre not like ‘yes we are friends but we’re also COMPETING! so we cant be That nice to each other bc that wouldnt be fair! or w/e you know that typical shounen stuff. i only enjoy that sometimes and im glad its not a thing rn, and if it does become like that later i probs wont mind bc i feel like itd be done well

so ruth and i caught on to the fact that that weird guy with the pins stuck all over himself was illuminati or w/e his name is (illumi? illumini? i forget already) but HOLY FUCK we both thought he was wearing a mask....god i wish that were the case, that face transformation shit was the WORST. sir why can you do that

also when hisoka just watched this and was like ‘i always like seeing you do that’ or whatever god gross nasty i hate them

my take on the little we’ve seen of hisoka and illumitations relationship: theyre like the catty mean girls-types but Super Fucking Weird. idk if theyre gay togther (probably) but theyd be the epitome of a ‘is this allowed? [gestures at All That]’ couple. i had more thoughts on them but i forgt

i find it funny that they havent shown killua like at all during this island hunting thing hvbhsdhfbjdk he probably has like 10 randos badges already. i feel like he would give gon a badge or 2 if gon needed them but that doesnt seem to be the case

when hisoka spotted leorio and kurapika and went after them i was like [guy yelling NOOOOOOOOOOO meme] freal

thank goodness kurapika could recognize that they would Fucking Die trying to fight hisoka, and bargained w/him instead. also seeing the flashback of leorio trying to fight hisoka was so funny. my man WHAT! were you thinking

this is probably the stage that tonpa is getting out on and can i just say thank god i hate that guy. good riddance

that sniper lady looked cool and im bummed illuminty took her out offscreen :( i also thought the black guy with the beehive stick thing was gonna do more but guess not

i find it funny that so many characters have these loud character designs but end up not having a lot of screentime...i feel like ive been conditioned by one piece to see an eye-catching character and mentally prepare to see a wholeass backstory lol

also. illunikn is clearly a huge freak which is probably why hisoka is willing to work w/him, but his design is weirdly cute sometimes (when hes not doing absolutely freaky shit, which....admittedly isnt often)

like the part where he transforms into his True Cat Man Form and then, without changing expression, digs a giant hole with his bare hands (with the body language of a feral person) and then gets into it to nap.....like.....bro.

also ik illiminini is killuas brother (i think brother?) and wow that family has some strong Cat genes

i find it interesting that hisoka has been working with illiimini this whole time, hisoka strikes me as a solo type of guy who would be all like ‘teamwork is beneath me’ and only have minions (a la dio, espec p1 dio) but he seems to have a fairly even relationship w/illuimian which is wild. i rlly wonder if thatll last or if hisoka is gonna like, murder/abandon ilubimi later bc he ‘gets in hisokas way’ or st

i like that kurapika and leorio teamed up....married

i generally really like how the relationships between the main characters are handled, its sweet how theyre just like....generally nice to each other and stuff lol

also oh my god i forgot that last time i hadnt seen the end of trick tower i need to talk abt that

KILLUA MY BOY OH MY GOD....ive been waiting for this ngl. ily smug murderous catboy

i love so much how killua casually kills this ~*~scary guy~*~ and everyones like :0 but gon is just like yep thats killua! hes from a family of assassins! like the way he says it so casually and kinda cheery aw i love him. he doesnt even care that killua can murder people in 2 seconds flat, he thinks killua is AWESOME

and oh my god i love how hard killua is trying like, all the time. he is trying his HARDEST to be AS COOL AS POSSIBLE for gon and thats adorable. its working too gon clearly thinks killua is SUPER cool

the eternally hilarious part where kurapika asked what killuas secret tactic are re: ripping that guys heart out, and killua is just like ‘uh i just ripped it out. yknow...as one does..’ and kurapika is like wow im glad this murder catboy is on our side..

the psychology stuff in the trick tower was interesting as hell (catch me brushing off my psych minor like, oh yeah i know abt this stuff lol)...i like the stuff abt leorio getting discouraged/disgruntled when the majority ended up being against him a lot bc thats true!! thats how it works!! it leads to learned helplessness and stuff like that...also that animation of kurapika and leorio playing cards to explain the tough candle choice was sooo cute

i really loved the solution to the final majority rule things....ingeniously following the rules while still managing to circumvent them in ways...love it

also gon is so perfect have i mentioned that already

im so curious whos gonna pass the hunter exam, i legit have no idea and i would find it so funny if gon becomes a hunter in the first goddamn arc hjhbdfhsdjbgk as ruth said, itd kinda be like luffy becoming pirate king in like chapter 70

i mean tbf if i had to guess id say gon passes, simply bc i cant see the story taking the time to have him do the hunter exam again in a year. also his motivation is to become a hunter in order to see what its all about bc of his dad - not JUST to become a hunter

gons fishing rod is so cute. perfect item for a perfect boy

doin this on a submission so i can rant and add pictures

OKay so I only just read WV&BS yesterday, but i fell in love with it in the first paragraph. i tend to be kinda wary about witch!fics but you nailed it my dude. I plan on re-reading it again sometime today or tomorrow to get a better feel for the world you put them in, but i love how you wrote fiery Eren, he’s very determined, but like right after i finished reading i couldnt get the idea of Eren on a mission with the team and like an explosion happens that just blows his arm off and he just keeps fighting/trying to help or do whatever they be doin (like when ashitaka RIPS that wood chunk out of his arm like it was a sticker or some shiz cause hes just focused on San(gif added for ref lol))

bUT THAT KINDA HEADSTRONG and i love it, not to mention like magic prosthesis/artificial limbs that is more like a staff for eren to channel his energy through if he did lose an arm???

and tbh i love hanges little Castle Utgard, though i dont picture what it looks like in the manga or show// im gonna have to try and draw it at some point. kinda like this, but with the wood fence and all the plants? and a bit more crooked?

and were your mermaids based off any youve seen before? or just what you think theyd look like?

does eren wear shoes? i dont recall them ever being mentioned in the fic and lowkey kinda expect eren to just walk around barefoot

are mages a thing in wv&bs? or since mage literally just means a learned person is that a term to be used for both witches and wizards? and are there selkies or dullahans? can music have a certain effect on witches and wizards? I’ll end my questions now for now aha// sorry for ranting

Okay so FINALLY I can reply to this. Sorry about the wait, and thanks for your patience!

(LMAO Ashitaka is, like, so Eren. I love that comparison. Although he is significantly calmer, tbf.)

REGARDING STAFF-WANDS AND SHIT:

I just had to go skim over my own fic cause I didn’t remember if I included certain details of the lore or if it was just excess shit swimming in my head that I never got to pen down. But yes! Chapter 12:

“Hanji has a staff they use for magic, but I was under the impression it was a Wood Witch thing. We draw our magic from the earth, and the staff helps act as a…”

“Conduit,” Farlan suggested. And then, “Like a magic wand.” Auruo grinned and even Levi looked slightly relieved to see some normalcy from the wizard.

“Sure, a ‘magic wand’. I mean, it could be one of their staffs? It’s made from the woods of the trees in this area, and that’s helps with the conductivity…”

(This is funny cause idk if you follow The Adventure Zone, but one of the characters is a Dwarven cleric with a magical wood arm prosthetic and like, it’s pretty wicked.)

I always thought of the concept of wands for the purpose of my fic as a conduit from the earth which is the source Wood Witches draw their power from. Like you charge it up, then point and Boom. Spells take a while to weave together proportional to their effectiveness and strength and require a degree of calm to kind of draw the necessary juices from Where The May Lie. It’s easy to draw from trees rather than straight from the earth because their roots reach so much deeper and it’s like a short cut where it would normally feel like there was a layer of insulation between you and the Goods that takes a lot of focus to break through. So in a tight spot when you run into something Unfriendly in the woods and you need a solid hit pronto and don’t have the time or tranquility to enter your Avatar State, you kind would appreciate a few reserves conveniently packaged in your walking stick which, while still less conductive than a living tree, is like a shaky conduit shortcut that is super handy when you want to focus most of your attention elsewhere like, say, dodging claws and fangs etc.

REGARDING FUTURE EREN LOOKING BAMF

Eren would for sure grow up to become this seasoned, hard-ass witch with time, and coupled with his penchant towards veering into dangerous territory fuelled by his suicidal curiosity, I don’t think it would take long before that began to show physically. Right now he’s this fresh-faced, cherry-lipped boy-witch, but he has Seen Things and I love this idea that he’ll learn survival tactics like some kind of decorator crab to blend in. He has enough Hanji rubbed off on him to experiment with something so bizarre (God, I need to write a oneshot of Eren and Hanji on some adventure smeared in crimson berry juices and mud like warpaint with brambles and twigs woven into their hair and crazed looks in their eyes as they stalk some rare magical species ft. Farlan looking Alarmed and Judgmental in the background).

Eren is already very tapped into nature so much so that being separated from a thriving natural magic source like a healthy forest even for a short time began to take it’s toll on him. He views woods as sentient, incomprehensibly vast creatures and wants to be their friend. Perhaps, during his experimentation, he learns it helps to disguise himself to look a little like a wood spirit with vines draped over his shoulders and blossoms in his hair. While the idea of a wood prosthetic probably wouldn’t function well as a staff for the above stated reasons, I am here for lost limbs and prosthetics for sure. I wouldn’t put it past him, and as the years go by, I like to picture Eren growing into this wild, fae-like young man with berries and flowers in his braid that can read the mood of the smallest forest just by stepping into its shade.

(Edit: Imma bring up barefoot Eren here since it kinda fits under this heading. I never made any remark on his footwear, but I’m sure you’re quite right, he does seem like he’d enjoy being barefoot at least so long as it is practicable. It was was the tail end of Winter in Witch’s Vein or maybe Autumn. I just remember describing frozen earth in that chapter where Eren was digging with his bare hands in the Palleen. He wouldn’t be barefoot then, I suppose. That’s a little silly.)

REGARDING HANJI’S ‘CASTLE’

Fuck!! What a great picture, omg! Where did you find something so spot on??

Chapter 2:

It looked old, so ancient it very well could have predated the trees around it; a melange of different rocks and stones of varied shapes and sizes haphazardly assembled to vaguely resemble a lodge. If Levi tilted his head to the side, he could see that it even leaned a little to the left, sagging sadly under the messy thatched hay roof.

The house, a term used rather generously, was framed by a garden brimming with wild and unusual plants, tangling around each other and creeping up the stone walls unchecked. It was all bordered by a flimsy fence made of sticks tied together with fraying rope. It was a wonder the frail structure didn’t collapse under the weight of wilderness it held in. It was hardly a secure design, but it was clear it wasn’t trying to keep anything out, but rather hold everything in.

Wow, I love that it also looks like a patchwork of various stones smushed together. Yes! A great pic! Exactly as you said: if it was surrounded by an insanely unchecked garden and tilted slightly alarmingly to one side, I couldn’t have described it better myself!

REGARDING MY MERMAIDS:

I don’t think I’ve seen mermaids specifically as I’d described them as I’d thought of that particular design myself a long time ago, but the idea of skeletal, deep-sea like mermaids has been tossed around enough I know that I can’t take any form of credit. Ages ago in a boring maths class in high school I doodled a wicked looking freaky mermaid and ever since then I’ve wanted to write about such eerie looking creatures. I know I have that exercise book somewhere. I was super proud of those sketches… hold on a sec while I dig ‘em up again…

Hehe. They look fucking rad. Go fifteen year old me.

REGARDING WITCHES AND MUSIC:

Well fuck me, you know I’m a sucker for a good song and love writing Eren especially with a singing talent. I hadn’t had the opportunity to consider magic outside of Wood Witches, vaguely Water Witches, and very briefly and casually mentioning wizards, but I definitely had contemplated song magic/spell weaving because of course I had, I’ve always enjoyed that concept.

I feel like different types of magic would be handled in different ways, and I toyed with the idea of Eren’s singing intermingling with water. I mentioned in the fic, off-handedly: Chapter 12:

“…Maybe Water Witches and Wood Witches are more similar than I thought?”

And I thought about that premise more than I’d like to admit. The idea of singing, the rise and fall of someones voice like waves or water currents eddying and flowing, it really felt like a perfect method for water magic, not to mention it opened up a plethora of other options. The discovery of mermaids could be tied in so well with it. With myths and legends of sirens, and why the mermaids were so entranced by Eren’s song.

It’s something I’d very much love to explore further.

REGARDING MAGES:

I’d never contemplated this. It does just mean ‘magician or learned person’ so I’m sure it’s a title that would be thrown around especially in wizarding circles. Based on centuries old rivalries between witches and wizards, witches now tend to sneer at ‘academia’ on principle so if you tried to call one learned I don’t imagine they’d take it well regardless of the positive connotations.

REGARDING OTHER MAGICAL CREATURES.

Fuck yeah. You’ll pry my headcanons of other wicked fantastical creatures living in this universe out of my cold, dead hands.

I don’t have any specific idea of what does and does not live in this AU outside of what I’ve otherwise stated, but, I mean, why the fuck not. If we have mermaids and unicorns, demons and witches. Why the fuck not? If you have personal headcanons I’ve always been the biggest advocate of exploring those. I’m not laying down any bars here. Go wild!

One of my faves was actually to start Chapter 3, when we looked at the "villains" and the main guy was talking about how he didn't want them dead, more turned to his side. I liked the humanizing aspect of the antagonists.

As far as comedy goes, I liked the brief scene where Adelaide "winked"... maybe... because she could have been blinking and her hair was in the way.

Though I also liked the "cold feet" bit where Nefayn was laughing and Nassar didn't know. In particular it was sort of called back later when he was thrilled that she liked his jokes.

yeah i really enjoyed that moment with the antagonists. also partially cause i like it being explained why they dont just crush the army cause adelaide is already being silly meeting them on an open field and not using the fort's defenses as was intended

QUESTION 2. Unfortunately for Nefayn, she is cursed twice over both in body and magic. Who do you think cursed her with the first seal and for what reason? Could the culprit be Ezo considering she and Pella seemed to know Nefayn? Why was said culprit pursuing her? In other words, what are their long-term goals in using her? How powerful do you think Nefayn was before the first seal came to be? Now that Nefayn is sealed twice over to be all but human, how will this affect her helpfulness in a battle? Do you believe that Nefayn will be able to undo the seals eventually and return herself to her original form and power? If so, how might this affect her growing relationship with Adelaide?

im torn on the culprit issue. on the one hand ezo seems likely cause from her characterization that seems like something shed do. but on the other hand their army is kind of near the end of their campaign since pike's reach is the last one standing and they dont want to murder hobo them. so idk why theyd need nefayn. i kind of like to think theres something bigger gonna show up and pella and adelaide are gonna join forces to defeat it. and that whatever the it is is what's after nefayn. but that could be wishful thinking cause i always cheer for antagonist protagonist team ups when both are basically good dudes with different goals

Yeah, I don't know that it's Ezo. There was also that scene where Nefayn said she thought the big Pike's room seemed familiar, so I feel like she was a citizen of the place somehow.

A teamup would be pretty cool between the two groups. Maybe the West has been getting more organized than they realize, there was some mention of the latest attack being more of a ruse.

Hah. That was a funny one.

Part of me actually ships Ezo and Nefayn, in that sort of 'mortal enemies become friends' kind of deal. So I guess Adelaide ends up with the General's second in command? This was probably heresy to propose.

Here's a possibly related question, who keeps sending the evil things to attack Adelaide? Which makes her sleep with a sword? I don't think it's the general, he seems honourable enough to keep his distance after losing, at least for a while. Maybe it's the same person who did the thing to Nefayn.

Flying is more of a problem for humans.

QUESTION 3. Magic seems to be at the center of several other mysteries that are presented in the comic. What is Pike’s Reach’s past with magic regarding the mention of a catastrophe involving it? Is Pella onto something about everyone being Adelaide’s age? What might this have to do with the previous lord of Pike’s Reach and Adelaide becoming its lord? How might any of this relate to the fact that Nefayn appears to recall being at Pike’s Reach for a brief moment? There is also the issue of Pella’s missing uncle. What do you think happened to his uncle? How might Pella’s uncle be related to past or present events that occurred in Pike’s Reach? Lastly, will Pella ever discover the truth about his uncle?(edited)

ya know, since nefayn doesnt quite remember pike's reach outside of haziness, i wonder if theres some magical third seal that was meant to hide her own memories. a third seal set up by certain uncles.

idk. hard to say without an exact timeline. also without exact knowledge of their system of governance. like for example, education could just be an at home by parents thing. so no actual public institution for it. but i also dont know the cut off date. and maybe no all the old ppl are dead. more its just heavily skewed to one age group

QUESTION 4. Despite the romance and good feels in Pike’s Reach, they are the last fortress standing against the Eastern hordes. Do you believe Pella is genuine about his desire to unite the east to make the country a better place? Why do you think Pike’s Reach is so ardent about not uniting with the rest of the eastern lands? As time drags on, do you think Pella will give into his advisors and stop going so soft on Pike’s Reach? Will Ezo being injured drive them to it potentially? Alternatively, do you think Pike’s Reach and the Eastern hordes might join forces and put their differences aside for some reason? All in all, who do you think will emerge victorious?

Ezo's injury could do that (escalate things), since Pella seems to have that thing for her. Honestly, I don't quite see why he's so keen on the uniting to this extent... is it all ego? I mean, why not just be glad you've got 95% of the continent?

It might be interesting if they join forces though.

i do think ezo's injury is gonna make pella made. at least enough to challenge adelaide to another duel. but then he might also be mad at ezo and be like wtf ezo we were retreating

but all in all i think pella is genuine and really does want to make the country a better place.

i actually dont know why pike's reach wouldnt want to unite with them to be honest. XD cause trade would be a nightmare at this point cause youd always have to try to skirt and sneak through the eastern horde lands. if the eastern hordes go to war with someone, land troops would be moved through pike's reach anyway. and to me it just seems pike's reach is more holding out for pride

but i guess tbf we dont know much about pella's country. maybe they eat babies and pike's reach has a strict no baby eating policy
