I was rewatching TDP and in s3e6 Avizandum says to Viren and Harrow that he'll spare their life 'cause that day was a day of life

Avizandum: today is a special day. Today is a day of life.

Why would he say that? He could've avoided all those sentences and just said he'll forgive them 'cause he wasn't in the mood to kill.

But he emphasizes it's a day of life. What if Zym's egg was due to hatch on that day? The weather seemed stormy enough.

If Harrow and Viren had arrived at least a day after, I'm sure the story would've changed because maybe by then Zym would have been already born

And what if they even arrived a week later? Would The Dragon Guard still be there? I don't think so.

Lain tells Rayla they will return when the egg is hatched. They wouldn't need to stay longer.

You don't understand. I need more decoinization fics in my life that also focus on Tiadrin and Lain reuniting. I was hit with the realization today that one of them had to watch the other get coined (unless they were somehow coined at the same time but I don't believe that). Can you imagine watching your spouse who you love more than anything, who fought beside you, be in so much agony and pain and not being able to do anything to save them while also knowing the same fate is about to befall you? Horrible. Absolutely horrible. I love it but it is absolutely horrible.

ngl i’m torn between Lain and Tiadrin not recognising Rayla at first VS them recognising their baby immediately and bursting into tears

I assume they’re going to recognise her because she hasn’t really changed that much. Her face isn’t as round, but she’s really just an older version of the girl they left behind. She even has the same markings (oooh, now headcanoning she deliberately keeps the same markings because subconsciously she’s afraid of them not recognising her). She also looks a lot like her parents (especially Tiadrin), so that would surely register with them.

I think they might struggle to believe what they’re seeing though, that so much time has clearly passed. I think that will be very emotional and traumatic for all involved. I think even Runaan will be initially shocked that Rayla is an adult now, compared to the “child” he last saw in Katolis.

Regardless of their reaction, I assume it will fuel many an angsty fanfic post decoining.
